This is a cosy environment with great background music. Dog friendly. Pizzas are amazing. We tried the Christmas specials pizzas and as always we weren't disappointed. Under new management so George and Lesley are still putting their own mark on this lovely pub. We hope they continue to do well.

This will not be the most atmospheric venue you will ever have encountered but stick with it. It certainly won't be the most sophisticated either as, at seven o'clock on the dank September evening that we walked in, two regulars sitting at the bar appeared to be in earnest and intense competition over who could use the eff word most often in any given sentence. However, as they both left soon after we arrived, the expletives dried up leaving us to enjoy a drink at our table in the window and order what the pub is now well known for, namely pizza. And the pizza is first class, a bottle of wine can be had at a reasonable price and certainly better value than ordering by the glass, and the staff do their very best to make you welcome. You order at the bar but the food comes to you. A basic, crisp based pizza with tomato, cheese and pepperoni will set you back £12.50 with an extra pound giving you the likes of extra mushrooms or fresh chilli. You cannot fault the quality or the traditional method of preparation with a large oven set at the rear of the pub. We booked a circular table in the window that looked out over this lovely old market town although being a Thursday we needn't have bothered but come Fridays and the weekend do make a reservation to get a window seat which should keep you far enough away from those blokes who like to throw eff bombs about at each other. And, if you enjoy a very good pizza at a very competitive price, then do go. There is certainly no need to dress up.

We visited this lovely pub on our one night stay in Ledbury. We decided to have pizza as they are real wood fired with a great list of toppings. We ordered at about 19.45pm. We were told it would be a long wait as the dough had to be remade. They even had to turn customers away due to there not being enough time to remake dough and cook all the orders already stacked up. It didn't bother us as there was such a lovely atmosphere in the pub we just had a few drinks, chatted with the locals, and Jack the border collie, who made us feel very welcome. When the pizzas arrived, just under an hour wait, they were delicious and well worth waiting for. We have to say a massive well done to the guy making the pizzas as he was under a lot of pressure and he did a fantastic job. The staff were lovely and couldn't apologise enough about the wait. We will definitely return for more pizza when we are in Ledbury again!

Been visiting Horseshoes for years…ever since the pizza oven was installed. Pub is under new ownership, our pizzas last night were delicious. Very nice dough and lots of toppings. Staff were great too. Pub was busy and had a good vibe. Book if you want to get a table ( the old phone numbers weren’t working when we tried so we popped in - I’m sure they’ll be up and running soon). We will be back.

My local in Ledbury & now under new ownership, they seem lovely, mother & son duo. Always known for the best pizzas, I decided to try them for lunch, the menu was a third of its usual, no fries or salads so I opted for the mozzarella garlic bread which has always been amazing. Jack the pizza chef was on his day off, and the owner has changed to making her own sourdough bread, which could be great when they’ve played around to get it right. However, paying more for less was not what I expected sadly, my pizza base was so crispy it snapped in half, barely any cheese either, sure prices had increased too. The other thing I’ve noticed is the sheer amount of teens now frequently heading in the garden. I’m all for them having somewhere to go if legal age to drink, but sadly feel this is going to change the dynamics completely & will deter its many previous regulars, like me.

Don’t be put off by the unassuming outside, this place is lovely! We all had pizzas and pudding and it is one of the best meals we’ve had out. Staff were very welcoming and the whole place is cosy. The food wasn’t fast, but that is reassuring because nothing was just being microwaved or done with shortcuts. Strongly recommend.

Nice decor and barstaff were friendly. The food was one of the worst meals I've had out in a long time. Pizza was tiny for £15, it had zero flavour. The garlic bread lacked garlic and again it was tiny! The chips were dripping with oil and cold! Overall disappointing. Will not be returning!

To start with the positives, the service was very friendly and we were kindly offered a better table than we were first given of which we snapped up as it was by the window and fire! The decor was lovely and cosy inside. Between the three of us, we ordered 6 tapas plates, a chicken burger and chips and a side of chips. The chips were freshly fried but completely raw. We did ask for these to refried, which they did, but they were still under cooked. The mushroom tapas dish was bland and a tiny portion, the potatas bravas was also bland, the prawns were undercooked and the Halloumi was overly salty. The chicken burger was a standard frozen breaded chicken in a ciabatta. We were also over charged for drinks as we only had a half pint of coke but were charged for half a pint and a full pint, of which we only realised when we got home. Overall a disappointing experience for our overnight visit in Ledbury.

We were l;ooking for somewhere for lunch in Ledbury and as we had a dog with us, not everywhere was available. This advertised itself as dog friendly on a sign outside. From the outside, it looked a little rundown, but inside it is cosy and welcoming. The staff were exceptional, very knowledgable about their products and really friendly. As it was Friday, in addition to their pizza menu, they also did Fish and Chips. Our group had two pizzas and two fish and chips. The latter was brought to the table by the chef and it was amazing. The tempura batter was light and crispy and the presentation was really good. Similarly the pizzas were thin crust and full of good things to eat. Add to that a couple of pints of Butty Bach and it was a perfect meal! I would definitely go there again. Great service, great value, great food what more can you want.

Fantastic pizza, great service and very friendly staff. The Horseshoe stepped in when the local pizza shop said that’s too big an order. Working away with some colleagues, we were let down with a food delivery and had to feed a large group. We though pizza would be easy but the local shop couldn’t do the order. After checking, the horseshoe were happy to help. Do they do gluten free? That was no problem either :-) Everyone really enjoyed them (hard to beat wood fired pizza that has been prepared and cooked well), including the Italians in the group and it made for a great evening. It's slightly shambolic but very nice too. We had a family Sunday lunch with fairly rambunctious small children and it went surprisingly well. The pizzas are not bad and come from a proper flamey oven. There is proper beer. There are crayons for the children. The chaps who work there are edging towards walk-ons in Jerusalem. What's not to like? The place is hundreds of years old so don't expect Pizza Express. And anyway on Sundays you can get a proper full-on English roast lunch, which you can't at Pizza Express. So it's nice. Go there.

One can only speak as one finds - and the three times that I and a friend have been here the pizzas have been truly splendid (as good as those in Naples!). The bar service has always been friendly and the general ambiance cheerful. However, this is essentially a local pub so do not expect the Ritz. But if you are happy to sit on wooden chairs at wooden tables and surrounded by lively chat and laughter you won't be disappointed. I want to try the tapas - but doubt if I will be enticed away from the pizzas. Can I manage both? You bet! At seventy-seven and wearing one's pearls one can cope with anything!

We visited on 23/6/18 after being recommended to go there for tapas. We were visiting the area so welcomed the recommendation. Oh wow! What a massive disappointment! We sat outside as it was busy, but the back 'yard' was quite scruffy and there was a strange smell coming from somewhere. We ordered some drinks - 2 x gin and tonics and a vodka and coke which were served in large J2O branded glasses; no ice; no lemon etc. We then tried to order some food. One of our party ordered a pizza - they couldn't do a pizza as they had run out of dough so they chose a burger - they couldn't do that either, so settled for a salad. We also ordered several tapas. We then went inside to our table and bought a bottle of red wine. The bar man told us he had no glasses! Was happy to sell us a bottle of wine but no glasses to drink it from. The bar man said there are only 8 wine glasses in the whole bar and one large table had them all!! We asked if he had any he could wash so he said he would have to hand-wash some for us?! When they came, they were absolutely disgusting. Not exactly sure what he had hand-washed them with and when he delivered them, he even said “are you happy with these?” We said no and he agreed! We couldn’t believe he had bought them to us in that condition and couldn't believe there were no other glass options for us to use. The bar man then got a little 'shirty' with us and said it was our fault because we had asked him to hand-wash the glasses! He couldn't see our point and then said, “I’m not having this conversation”. At that point, we decided to enough was enough and decided to leave. Can't quite understand how you can have a bar that doesn't have enough glasses to see more than 8 people! We paid the bill and tried to placate the situation but this staff member was extremely unprofessional, rude, and didn’t really know how to handle the situation or a customer. It was such a shame as we had the tapas on order which we obviously cancelled and found somewhere else to spend our money.

We hadn't been to this pub for years....and some friends had told us that the (veggie) pizzas were good...were in Ledbury...so went along. Big mistake. A few people eating...a gent standing patiently at the bar..we waited...waited and watched. The lady behind the bar...was...just hopeless. Trying hard, I think...but truly clueless. We decided on our pizzas...I went to the loo and my husband had STILL not even got our drinks!..we had chosen a table, but were informed that we couldn't use it..."in case a larger party came in",,we were seated at a rickety table, close to the pizza oven. In short...the pizzas were 'ok'...very, very greasy...and maybe cheap cheese because I drank about 8 glasses of water after reaching home. The bar 'person' preceded to faff about with everyone that came in after us. Young guy 'waiting'..hung over the bar...looking at his phone and texting most of the time. What a dive!...our bill for 2 pizzas, one beer and one glass of 'ok' wine was nearly £30...never, ever again. The table that we were told we couldn't occupy was subsequently used by...two ladies!....forget it...save your money...and go somewhere else...anywhere else!.....

I stopped in Ledbury for a late afternoon (4pm-ish) for a bite to eat with my partner on our way back to Andover from Newtown, Mid-Wales.

We have eaten here three times over the last year. Service is good and the beer is ok, but the pizzas are great. We have only visited at lunchtime, and perhaps that is why we have never experienced the problems mentioned with other reviewers. We’ll certainly go back next time we’re in Ledbury.

We went here for lunch as a party of four. There were pizzas, the usual sort of bar food and “tapas”.

We visited the Horsehoe for the first time since last summer the other evening and goodness me how it seems to have gone downhill since then. Very cold & unwelcoming atmosphere, no fire on one of the coldest days of the year, flat & overpriced beer, swearing & rowdyness at the bar even in front of three young children and two guys quite openly doing drugs in the gents. The only positive was a delicious pizza but unfortunately that won't be enough to tempt us back any time soon.

Popped in with friends, lovely warm fire. We had the most delicious pizza and meat board. Great for a pit stop in Ledbury.

Returned to this place after happy memories of a warm fire previous time. This time a cold January day and expectant of another warm fire, unfortunately bar lady advised they had run out of coal along with gin glasses and lemon. Everyone was sat in coats in the bitter cold. Ruined the ambient rustic charm of the place. Saving grace was a delicious pizza.

Landed late at Heathrow and desperate for a real pint of English beer and called into The Horseshoe pretty whilst passing through Ledbury well on closing time - best landing of the day!! Fine selection of real ale and plumbed for Butty Bach, good choice. When I say "accommodating" they very kindly delayed 'last orders' just for me, now that's what I call a pub!!

We popped in on a Friday night and between us had tapas and pizza. Very good food and at a reasonable price. Also the ale on tap was decent. Friendly service and will definitely be going back again.

I bring friends and family here when they come to visit me in Ledbury. I recommend the meze and tapas as well as the pizzas, and there's a well stocked bar! Nice summer garden too dog friendly, which is handy as I have 2 friendly black labradors. Even the curtains have a black labrador motif!

Omg this pizza they serve here is absolutely 😋. 💯 everything. Very friendly owner. Can't fault one single thing. My favourite is the vegatarian volcano 🌋.

I waited an hour and a half for a single pizza order. When I called after an hour he said the food was not even in the oven yet as no driver available. I called 2 minutes later to cancel and was told it would be with me in 10 minutes which was a blatant lie as it was not even in the oven yet! I have now waited a further 30 minutes since being told that and still no food. The man on the phone was unapologetic and showed very little care about my ridiculously long wait time. The 3 stars they have is very very generous in my opinion. I will not be ordering fron there ever again. Disgusting service.

We ordered pizza from munchies and I never had pizza like that before Why your pizzas are so cheap they should not be that cheap
