We booked a table for a Sunday roast and it was fantastic! The meat was perfectly cooked and the vegetables were really tasty. This was one of the best roasts I’ve ever had, so I’d definitely recommend trying it. The only slight downside was that our table was downstairs in the basement; it would have been nicer to be sat upstairs with a better view… Maybe next time!

Have spent last 3 days calling & emailing the restaurant to reserve a table to no avail. Either enable online bookings or pick the 'phone up.

We stopped here for a Sunday roast whilst visiting Bath - lots of choice with veggies, chicken, pork, beef and lamb options. We went for the pork belly and veggies option which was a cauliflower steak, all served with a massive portion of vegetables. We then finished with a chocolate brownie - just one to share, as the roast was big! Definitely recommend this place for a Sunday roast - delicious!

Such a great restaurant! All of the dishes were creative and effective, and prepared so well. We had amaaaazing service from Senya (sp.) who treated us well the whole night, gave great recommendations, and helped us have a blast. Really good cocktails as well. The lamb was an absolute standout dish, so tender and well-cooked and the sides were all great. Also loved the truffle fries with it, but everything was great!

Nice location, Nice sunday roast

The service was very rude to us. The restaurant was empty and we asked the waitress to sit us near the window because we had come for the view. Unfortunately, she didn't want to help us and we were forced to go to another restaurant... Disappointing experience ((

The food was amazing, good portions, reasonable prices and very good customer service. The view of the river was the cherry on top of this amazing restaurant.

My fiancé booked a table for us for my birthday and though the food was great, it was a Sunday roast, they failed to acknowledge her request that the meal was for a birthday. They claimed that the booking software did not mention it - which I know is a lie as Opentable clearly gives all the info to the restaurant and clearly they did not care having booked other places before for special occasions. My fiancé left very upset and was extremely angry at the staff’s attitude. They didn’t check how the meal was and felt that the 10% service charge was cheeky despite the staff speaking to other tables but ours. More importantly she put a lot of effort choosing a restaurant and the staff did not care. Wouldn’t go here if you are coming for a special occasion, which seems to be a concern having just read about other reviews

Im a bit of a roast dinner connoisseur and The Hive is without doubt the most sensational roast dinner i have had in Bath so far. We ended up coming back three Sundays on the trot. Can't wait to come back again soon!

We popped in for lunch, midweek just before christmas. We chose from the a la carte menu. The sea bream main course was my partner's favourite, fish was perfectly cooked, sauce really lifted the broccoli and mashed new potato too. I had pigs cheek for starter which was tasty, albeit I did not quite get the pairing with the rice noodles. The pork roulade main was good, mash was particularly tasty. We had a glass of champagne and a pinot noir, the latter was really good, very easy to drink, perfect temperature too. Coffee was surprisingly good to finish too. Servers were ace, friendly and attentive. We were placed in the rear room and my partner had views of the weir, which is a lovely feature. We plan to come back and try an evening, when I suspect there will be a bit more buzz, but for a wednesday lunch it was still a very pleasant place to be.

We had a lovely lunch. The service was extremely friendly. The atmosphere was very cosy. The food was excellent but slightly heavy on the salt.

Had a booking for my husbands birthday, I told them before hand that we needed from for a highchair and have pram, we arrived a little before the booking as it was really windy and my two eldest needed to the toilet. From the start you could tell they didn’t want us there from been so unwelcoming, we simply asked if we could go toilet/ to change nappies as the time that will all be done it would be time to go to our table. But instead we got an extremely rude lady muttering how there is so many of us and the pram is big… and was told no, so we turned around and left. We ended up going to a lovely place with kind staff that helped get the kids in from the cold and to show my eldest where to toilet was because he was about to pop, they make us feel welcomed so wouldn’t out of the better! I wouldn’t go to the hive, if you have kids, a pram, disabled and have a wheelchair!! I wont be going back to a place that decides a 4 year old to go to the toilet and spoken to like that! Rude stuck up staff!!

Had lunch here for our 10 year anniversary. We were given complimentary Prosecco and the food and service was excellent. It's in a great location with lovely views of Bath as well! Would highly recommend

It’s one year now since the day my son got married and the Hive ‘forgot’ to tell us they’d cancelled our wedding day booking. A beautiful small wedding with just 10 of their nearest and dearest. I was in charge of booking the venue for the wedding lunch, nothing elaborate, just a simple lunch - I thought I’d found the perfect venue, at the Hive Kitchen. I arranged the whole thing with the Hive staff, arrival drink, classic plain lunch for Granny right up until the week before - I thought we were all set. On the morning of the big day I arrived at the Hive, all excited , 8 balloons flying in the wind and waltzed through the door. Strange - there was a sign saying ‘closed for private event’ I hadn’t realised they would actually close the restaurant - how amazing. When the chef arrived to greet me he was just as surprised as me. They had apparently cancelled my booking the week before and bumped me for a bigger wedding party! Shock took over and I broke down in tears - what-am-I-going-to-do PANIC. They were very apologetic and offered a free meal as compensation…they said they’d be in touch….. but that wasn’t going to fix the mess I was now in…. one job is all I had. We finally found an alternative venue in a local pub an hour before the big day was to start. We were lucky - it was a Saturday in rugby season! I still haven’t had any contact from the Hive, a year on, clearly I never will. They literally bumped us for a better deal - the ethical and moral compass of the Hive let us down. We won’t go here again, we live in Bath and will continue to tell our story of the day Hive ruined our Sons wedding.

We have just eaten here for my birthday on a quiet Wednesday and I can say with full conviction, don't let the quiet put you off. We were greeted with great energy by the two lovely ladies waiting on customers. They were lovely and very welcoming. The ambience was wonderful, from music playlist to decor - I feel I could have walked in wearing anything from smart casual to fully formal. My wife had the bream and I had the duck. The food was absolutely delicious and I would go back on decor alone, let alone cuisine 👌 Thank you Hive! We'll see you again soon!

I was expecting much more given the high rates. The fish and chips was awful: very oily and overpriced. The fish itself extremely dry

Treated very rudely after making reservations and then told when we arrived told that we only had an hour to eat. Blond, assertive waitress was short with us and told us that our menu item would take too long to cook. I just told my husband that I didn’t feel welcomed so we got up and left .

Excellent restaurant in Bath! This is the best service I've ever had at a restaurant, so nice and very attentive. If you're visiting Bath and need somewhere to eat out, this is the place! Price is very reasonable for what you're getting!

We ordered fish and chips and cured salmon sandwich for lunch. The presentations were excellent! The food tasted so good that we are planning to go back for dinner. We are looking forward.

Went for a post Birthday Sunday roast dinner at The Hive the other weekend. Couldn't fault it. Tasty food, friendly and professional staff, beautiful restaurant and overall really lovely atmosphere for a Sunday lunch. Would definitely come back again!

My 1 year anniversary with my partner. Requested a table with a river view and they beyond delivered. Complimentary prosecco, unrivalled food and the highest form of service. Could not recommend more. Staff made the evening.

Small bistro restaurant in the centre of barrow... Tapas was just superb!!!!!! We will definitely visit this restaurant again.

On a day trip to Bath, I'm super glad we chose the Hive to end our day. To begin, the Duck Arancini and Hive Nibbles board. Both delishious but the winner was the carrot kimchi and beetroot hummus.. so yum! Followed with the vegan paella and pork roulade. Pork dish was tasty and well cooked with creamy mash and more of that carrot kimchi, would recommend! The paella portion was huge and could only finish half, non the less a great dish for the vegan girlfriend whom enjoyed it thoroughly. Waiter attentive and gave detailed explanations of dishes, comforting indeed.

Delicious lunch menu, great drinks, and very friendly service. Great views of the river.

Very nice Ribeye steak. I love medium well, but it was still surprisingly tender. The gravy was very tasty gravy too. Yet, it's not done, the side vegetables were savory and delicious. Superb and exquisite dish! Highly recommended!

The BEST Sunday roast in the world!! Every single component of the meal was made with so much love and care and expertise, it was incredibly delicious! The waiters and waitresses go out of their way to make you feel welcome and at home, very much as if you are part of their family. The atmosphere is relaxed and the playlist is fantastic! The setting is breathtaking! Overlooking the weir of the Roman Baths from the outside tables (book well in advance to sit there!) is beyond romantic! We sat upstairs on street level and it is so cozy and beautifully decorated. What a place ! 10/10! Thank you for having us! We will never forget this very special evening x

Booked for 15 people, and we had the long table downstairs. Great atmosphere! Very glad that we booked the food in advance as it kept everything slick and nicely timed. Happy with the service and they seemed cool and calm. We all had an excellent night, our thanks to the staff.

We went to The Hive for a birthday celebration dinner, and everything was really brilliant—from the welcome drink for the birthday celebrant, superb food & excellent, friendly service. Everything was perfect for our celebration dinner, down to the birthday candles, song & on-the-house after dinner drinks outside enjoying the stunning water views. It was a really wonderful experience. We highly recommend The Hive for truly romantic dinner, but especially for any special occasion where Sahara, Chino & Xenia of The Hive will absolutely fill your special evening with beautiful memories.

My husband and I had a lovely dinner at the Hive on Saturday night for his birthday. The staff very kindly reserved a balcony table overlooking the river at my request and they greeted us on arrival with a special birthday welcome - this shows they pay attention to their customer details and requests. The food was lovely and served promptly with a smile. Best part is the staff here who are exceptionally kind and efficient - We will gladly return again!

I had lunch with big groups in The Hive several times, and I have to say that everything in that place is just perfect. The location is excellent, the food is wonderful, everything is hand-made, even the bread has a special taste, and the staff is amazing, making sure everyone is happy all the time. I strongly recommend it for lunchs or dinners if someone wants to have a guarantee of quality in all the aspects.

The Sunday roast I had was the most delicious I've tried during my time living in the UK. The vegetables were incredibly tasty, and the staff was delightful. Moreover, the view was absolutely breathtaking. Thank you for this lovely moment!

Estuvimos comiendo 35 personas, la sopa de tomate que nos sirvieron, asi como el pollo al horno estaban riquisimos, El personal muy profesional, amable y eficiente( hubo algun comensal que reclamo el pollo pues estaba poco hecho, he inmediatamente se le cambio por otro). A las personas con intolerancia a ciertas comidas se les sirvio otro menu sin mayores problemas. El sitio es muy bonito y las vistas al rio Avon son fenomenales.

Managed to book in last min usin. Food is amazing and came out at a g board was a little bit of a let down but the rest of the food and service was so good we didn’t mind. There is a lot of stairs in there so if you have mobility issues would probably be worth giving them call to as for a table with easy access. We had a small table with a great view of the river. Will definitely be booking in again when we’re next in Bath

Best Roast in Bath. The service is great and because the veg is sharing plates, Xenia and others were a great help explaining through it all as my girlfriend is Vegan. My Lamb was fantastic and the Yorkshire pudding perfect.

I had my wedding reception here and cannot rave about this place enough. The food and drinks far surpassed expectations (which are quite high to begin with), the place was beautiful and set up perfectly to host our group of 25, and the staff was very attentive and kind- not to mention flexible to help with multiple requests. The terrace was a nice touch to go outside and cool off between drinks, and the lounge acomodated everyone with room to spare. All of our guests enjoyed themselves so much and gave both my husband and I such a memorable and wonderful day to look back on for the rest of our lives. Thank you, thank you, thank you, what a wonderful establishment this is, with an even better staff. My compliments to the chef 🙌🏻 I would recommend this place to anyone in a heartbeat and am looking forward to my next visit.

Who would have thought that Sunday Roast could be this good! We booked a table for my birthday and we didn't realise they only serve Sunday Roast on Sunday 😅 my husband who's not always keen on Roast dinner was a bit disappointed at first But, after we had the pork roulade and the beef with all those roasted veggies, it changed his mind about Roast Dinner! It was so tasty he said So yeah, I'd have recommend having Sunday Roast at The Hive P. S : the view near the windows is also pretty 👍

Straight off the bat we could tell the kitchen cared about the dishes they served. Presentation of everything we ordered was absolutely supreme 👌🏽 The menu was quite unique as well, which I'd say is a positive. The chick who served us there was really good at her job. View out the back is gorgeous too, definitely recommend sitting there if you go!

Totally different menu to what was advertised - I dont just mean items but entire style of food. Overpriced for what was available. Also, no drink served was cold.

The best Sunday roast I’ve ever had. Everything about it was phenomenal and the ambience is also great. I have recommended it to every friend who visits Bath and everyone has loved it. 10/10 recommend.

Who knew a roast dinner could blow your mind?!?! The food was amazing. Such a cool restaurant on the bridge. Grab a couple of friends, get a table with a view, and enjoy your roast family style with a massive platter of veggies and your own choice of meat. It's such a nice experience and the staff are very friendly. Also... Get the dessert.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience here! The meals are meant for sharing, and the duck breast meal provided enough food for the two of us after a long day around Bath. We also had a bottle of rosé, expresso martinis, beef carpaccio, and a tonca bean cheesecake. Everything was delicious, and the service was great!

A fantastic alternative to the crowded cafes over Pultney Bridge. You get a nice diagonal view of the river and deco in here is far nicer. Really lovely and attentive wait staff and a great selection of wines and drinks. We didn’t try to food as the kitchen was closed around 3pm but that was ok

I will be recommending this restaurant to anyone who visits Bath. Great cosy atmosphere with beautiful views overlooking the town and the river. All the staff (including the chef who kindly came to speak to us) were so personable and helpful. Beautifully presented and delicious food. The charcoal roasted beef ribeye was particularly good with an amazing charcoal flavouring. Thank you for such wonderful memories.

The staff at The Hive were very friendly and generous. The food was great: a good selection of classic British dishes with a contemporary twist. The restaurant itself was welcoming too and in a great location. Would recommend!

Completely overpriced for what they serve. I ordered the pork belly roulade with a glass of pinot noir. It comes with plenty of roasted vegetables but only a very thin slice of pork. £32 altogether and the waitress had the audacity to ask for a tip! This is more expensive than London or Paris, where I have just been! Bath is a tourist trap.

Sunday roast was absolutely delicious. The service was not perfect even though the place was not very busy. Desserts were so good and the view from the tables on the balcony were great.

We had a post wedding Sunday Roast for 53 guests at the Hive a few weeks ago and it was absolutely amazing! The team were so helpful in organising everything for me and were incredible on the day. The food was 10/10 with many guests raving about the food. Could not recommend more!

I have had many a Sunday roasts but none have compared to this. That added to the view makes this place perfect. The Sunday roast comes with everything cooked to perfection, we got chicken supreme (leg and breast) and the beef. Both were exceptionally amazing, the beef had this nice smoked taste. With amazing potatoes cut into a fan, with gravy and roasted vegetables, this is a cannot miss.

Incredible Sunday roast!! Must-visit in Bath

We were traveling to Bath with a dog and needed a dog friendly restaurant. The Hive was beyond that. Amazing servers, perfect beef carpaccio, deli posh potatoes, fab ambience and a lovely view.

I would highly recommend the food at Hive, it was exceptionally good. I had duck breast which was probably the best I’ve had, and my partner had sea bass which was beautifully seasoned and a generous portion. The restaurant was quiet which we were surprised by, but actually made for a very relaxing evening. We had some drinks afterwards on the balcony which over looked the river, a beautiful spot and the service was excellent. I think it is very fairly priced for the quality of the food. We were sat downstairs so I probably wouldn’t have had just drinks there as upstairs had a little more atmosphere. This restaurant deserves to be really busy and bustling with diners as we both felt the experience was above our expectation. I very much hope the restaurant is a success and we will certainly return when we next visit Bath.

The best Sunday roast in Bath. You must try their Sunday roast once!!! All the vegetables are roasted perfectly and I like the cabbage. The lamb is very delicious!!! Lamb is roasted perfectly, tender, juicy and meaty with the gravy. It is pretty busy at lunchtime, need to have a reservation early. Highly recommend!

Came here for Sunday lunch and while the food was beautifully presented, there were only four very small, thinly sliced and overcooked pieces of meat for 2 people. I couldn’t believe what little food they gave you for the price they charged. We left hungry and needed to find more food elsewhere.

Unhelpful and rude staff. No one addressed us as we entered, I had to initiate. Then left for 10 minutes before someone helped us and a further 5 minutes before being told kitchen was closed! Bare faced audacity to tell me I was 30 minutes late. I was 15 minutes late. Why allow me to book a 5.30 table when kitchens close at 5.30. Ridiculous! Clearly had no intention of serving us from the moment we walked in. Haven't experienced such passive aggressive hostility since the early 80s. For shame!

We were welcomed in with our dog on a rainy Tuesday and seated at a table with a good view of the weir. The staff were very attentive and the food (sea bass and pork roulade) was outstanding. We also liked the music.

What a find, stylishly decorated, great attentive staff and nice choice of cocktails. The only (and picky) point we went for a night cap after a meal two doors down however they were closed at 21.30
