This is regarding the restaurant - on a Sunday - the roast carvery! holy cow this was delicious!! there was sooooo much too! we'll be back for sure with many other friends. The other major benefit is the kids play area - perfect for the kids to look forward too! Keep up the GOOD WORK Highwayman!

Microwave food with children’s size portion of chips for premium prices. Stay away.

No turkey had been delivered when we visited so had beef and gammon for the carvery so only 4 stars. Food was very nice though. We will visit again.

Went there for a family meal on a Sunday. The staff are lovely and the facilities are great. The food was pretty good but often there is a whole list of items that are off the menu because of supplier issues. It’s a real shame because the quality of the food is pretty good. Not a bad roast and better than The Bridge! Good value for money. The children’s play area is great for my grandsons. They just need to sort out a decent food supplier.

Visited today to meet with our friend and children It’s was 12:30 and there was barely anyone in there but most sections were reserved We asked where we could sit bearing in mind we had 5 children with us We dropped 2 of them in the play area but there was no where to sit inside So we found a table that was free near the kid area and sat down A male server came over and said we couldn’t sit there, no reserve sign We said if anyone comes in we will gladly move but we would like a drink Quite rude but eventually said ok and left We then asked 3 people walking by if we should order at the bar they all said someone will be along in a minute to take our order they never came Rude place Can’t comment on food or drink as no one wanted to help us So disappointed

The kitchen forgot to not put gravy on my dish so it had to be taken back. They take ages to get to you even though they are not busy. This place is not good and wouldn’t come again.

A confusing menu ,with quite a list of unavailable dishes.Our meal was good and the service was pleasant.Overall ,a happy couple of hours.

Met my friends here, 2 meals out of three were cold. Many meals on the menu not available, supplier issues apparently,short staffed, wasn't offered a discount for missing items. If you are going here for Xmas dinner be careful, half of it will be missing. Won't return in a hurry, whoever runs this place needs a good shake up An unhappy local!!!

Back in St. Neots, staying in the Premier Inn for another site visit. Well, in the last few weeks, the Cookhouse has been missing a number of basic ingredients from dishes... sausages, fish, gammon, etc, and breakfast ingredients (to my horror, a good breakfast sets you up for the day). To which they are apologetic, but to my surprise, when a meal is ordered excluding the missing ingredient(s), then you are charged the same price for the meal??? Now, after asking for a replacement ingredient, I was quietly ignored. Well, I could hear the response. My meal came with no replacement item, to my surprise..not. Surely, somebody could briskly walk over the road to Aldi and purchase the missing ingredients. I do appreciate that there will be a supply chain and preferred suppliers, but surely to maintain happy customers (who don't necessarily complain), there could be a compromise. I mean, would you buy a meal deal? Be told that the prawn sandwich is minus the prawns.... Oh yes, you can have the BLT instead, but we've run out of bacon and tomatoe..... Ah, wise choice, the bacon, egg, and sausage sandwich, but sorry, there are no sausages.. Oh, a three cheese triple, sorry, no cheese... and the missing items continue on! But you'll pay full price! Take the meals off the menu or reduce the price accordingly, please think of your customers.

I must say a big thank you to the young lady that served our table the service was fantastic plus the kitchen staff, they managed to look after 17 of us we all got our food at the same time it was excellent and full praise to our waitress couldnt have asked for any better attention

We booked a table via online, on arrival we were greeted, they then asked us to wait and went to prepare the table. it was not busy and staff were chatting at the bar. We sat down and waited for 10 minutes for our drinks to be ordered, when the waitress came over we asked if we could also order a carvery, given the carvery was still set out they advised they may not be serving, they checked and came back to provide us with a ticket. We went to the carvery and waited again, no one came to serve, i put my hand at the bottom of one dish on the hot plate and it was not hot suggesting the food would be lukewarm. As we were left at the counter we decided to leave. This has always been my experience and unfortunately we will not be returning.

Went with kids and friends for lunch got in soft Play bit so kids can play ordered nachos for starters and we got our main which was very cold before the starters there was always something wrong with the food there was only one staff in the kids bit to serve people but when we got our starter a hr later the nachos were hard the salsa and no flavour water and just had did floating at the top of it not really recommend

Avoid this place, dreadful service. Truly awful service, 15 minutes to take order, 10 minutes to deliver drinks, ordered fish & chips, should come with sauce. They dropped the plate & ran, not explaining they had ran out of sauce, (it was obvious they knew & were trying to pretend it shouldn't be included) should have offered an alternative meal if they couldn't supply it complete, not many chips as well. 24th anniversary meal ruined, we will never go back there.

Kids play area was just brilliant especially in half term

An appalling experience due to chronic understaffing. The bar area was not busy but the tables that had no empty glasses were filthy. Returned two hours later and all the tables were filthy glasses and plates left lying, Bits of food strewn over the bar, a less hygenic environment is hard to imagine. All for the want of a couple more employees. Disgusting.

So me and the family turned up a Sunday for a lovely roast carvery, only to find out they had run out of meat, ridiculous that a carvery has run out of meat for a roast on a Sunday of all days. Maybe plan ahead in future because I now have 2 very unhappy children under 5 because they were looking forward to Yorkshire puddings and roasties. Not good enough!

Hosted my sisters birthday party at this pub in the kids play area and it was a great party. A big special recognition to Kieran who was our host and went above and beyond for us and the kids. Such a great guy with a warm heart and real care. He really made our experience. Thank you guys !

I do not recommend soft play in this place, every time the children bring the turbo virus, which spreads throughout the house. Lack of ventilation and disinfection must have negative consequences. I do not recommend.

The food was good. However, I have never had such bad service in my life. The restaurant wasn’t that busy so no excuse. Staff ignored multiple requests.

My partner and I had a lovely meal, the service was good, the food was good, and the prices are very reasonable.

We had an evening meal here and then breakfast the following day. Both meals were delicious. The service was table service and was really good, fast and friendly. The food was cooked to perfection. They have an outdoor area which is lovely and we sat outside and had a few drinks. There is also a large soft play area if you have kids. It is connected to the premier inn that we stayed in, we would definitely stay there again and use the pub.

We went for the carvery - the first time I've been there and was pleasantly surprised by the food. It was hot, fresh and plentiful. Good variety of sides, sauces and you could go back for more if you'd got space. It was very good. Very impressed. Service was also good, efficient, prompt, friendly and polite. Very busy, still tables available and people coming and going all the time, and so I would say booking is advisable. Will definitely be going there again. 😁

We had a great meal here on a Sunday afternoon. It was not too busy. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was good too.

Amazing day. Manager asked if our party was a celebration. She then brought out a bottle of Proseco and chocolates. Food was pretty average, but the staff were brilliant, and more than made up for it. Overall 14 of us had a lovely day.

Had a lovely meal with my wife, staff very friendly and efficient. Nice to have full table service. Treated my in-laws to a meal there the following week who also enjoyed it. Even got 15% off the food bill with my Defence Discount card code. Highly recommended.

A really good meal here, staff very professional and friendly

The food is excellent value for money with good choices and prompt, courteous service. Their loyalty card has really good deals, not the usual silly little discounts you often get, but proper offers, like two adults meals off the bill etc. More choices of sundaes would be nice. Our server tonight was Tom. Really helpful, polite and seemed to genuinely care that we enjoyed our eating experience. Owen (I think), completed our service and was also a credit to your company.

Don't expect much from this buffet breakfast and be prepared to wait for food to be replenished. Seemed to be only one person restocking juices and breads. Cooked items were in small dishes which ran out very quickly.

It's a multi national pub chain pub / restaurant. It's great for what it is. No surprises. Cooked fresh to order. Nice staff. Clean.

This place is a joke went for father's day , for breakfast waited 45 min for food then 30 min for coffee cups them another 10 min for coffee machine to be fixed , no one on the bar to get a coke or anything , staff were rude when asking for the food trays to be filled , its a joke took so long to get anything we only got one serving and that was small as there was nothing in the food trays , I will not be returning

Will not go here again food terrible fish batter was like rubber service was terrible would not let a medical dog in for my wife which is a support dog manager was rude and ignorant took forever to get food when it came it was cold give a wide berth to this place

a carvery/grill pub on the old north road at eaton socon located on the outskirts of colmworth business park this establishment is well screened from the roads that pass by, serving fixed menu meals or choose a carvery meal and all you can eat veg selection several outside seating areas are available weather permitting where children can run off their excess energy a indoor area is available for the wet days as well as a bar for those who just want a drink for a evening out. a large car park with the usual disabled bays by the building can hold around 45/50 vehicles with 1/2 premier inn establishment's located within 400m from each other (kids eat free with accompanying adults)

The member of staff played with the kids in the softplay, she was so lovely, attentive and polite x 100% service

The food was lovely, quick timing and lovely friendly and polite staff who were more than happy to help :) Ollie was out waiter and couldn't have been more helpful! We felt at ease while looking over the menu and always received a quick response for anything we needed to order!

Terribly slow table service, seemed too much effort to grab us some ketchup, had to go to bar to get own drinks. Very little staff present

We came for the soft play at 1:30 on a Sunday. The soft play was busy but after our children had played for a while and we decided to stop for lunch. Despite the restaurant being relatively empty we were advised there were no tables free as “49 people have booked and will be arriving any minute”. This was at 2:15pm, and the place was practically empty. I have no doubt they could have fitted us in, and unless a coach was about to pull up any minute, 49 people were not about to march through the door that instant. Our children had been having a nice time, but this just meant we left. Poor performance from the hostess here and a pointless way of losing local customers.

Amazing food and atmosphere! We have done recently our daughter’s first Holy communion celebration with family and friends, we were looked after very professionally and everyone was extremely satisfied with the food, drinks and the service provided. A massive thank you to all the staff involved and especially to the site manager Daria. Will be definitely visiting again. Highly recommended place in St Neots!

Beware the two meals for 10.99 are not available at the weekend. I was not told this when I rang in advance to check and so we ordered under the impression that they were. After waiting 40 minutes to get our food, which was frankly average, we were charged the normal price, which is double. I will not be going back.

Visited today - and unfortunately didn’t have the best experience. Took over an hour after ordering just to receive our drinks. Then took a further 40 minutes for our food to arrive. One plate went back to the kitchen due to it being cold and then had to go back a second time due to it being inedible. (Cheeseburger topped chips) the staff were not very attentive, and seemed rushed of their feet - all though the place was half empty. Has huge potential especially with the soft play inside - however food & service were enough for us not to attend again.

Amazing service and food during a special event for our family. We celebrated my goddaughter's first holy communion. It was a Sunday and there were plenty of customers in the restaurant but the staff still went above and beyond for our party of 35. We had the sunday roast carvery and all of our guests were more than happy. 10/10 would recommend! Thank you

Had lunch here and chose the 2 mains for £10.99, as we are both not big eaters and they are smaller plates. The fish and chips my partner ordered wasn't good the fish was grey inside and the batter soggy, the chips were overcooked in places and brittle, the peas looked like they were overcooked, not very nice at all. The lasagna i had was ok, but the salad that came with it was very sparse. I so wish we had ordered from the main menu, as the food might have been better, but i suppose you get what you pay for ! The service was really slow , even though there wasn't very many people in there and had to wait ages for our drinks. I would personally not eat in there again.

Great customer service from the reception lady who’s on baby number 10 💪🏽💪🏽 Two lads behind the bar olly and Jordan always smiling even tho there always under the cosh. And under staffed. Morning breakfast ladies Juvy and her friend always warm and welcoming and ask you genuine questions about your day. Blonde haired lady behind the bar always smiling running from pillar to post. We went there for a few meals. The first two meals I would give a 9 out 10, but as for the roast I would give a 5 out of 10. The best part about it was the cranberry sauce.

Waited 55 minutes for a breakfast ,didnt seem that busy at the time ,when it finally came the whole group of us were more then disappointed, poached eggs were very hard to say the least, all food seemed soggy and drenched in oil ,hate to leave negative comments but on this occasion nothing else for it .member of staff was very apologetic. Very professional front of house

We were there for around 1hr 40m. It wasn't very busy and the service was very slow. I ordered nachos and wings, Mrs and daughter had burgers, youngest had a kids meal. We could have had a better, cheaper and faster meal across the road at Burger King. No gherkins in the cheese burger, no avocado in the chicken burger, only one mini corn in the kids meal. There were many items unavailable and the burgers took over 45 minutes to come out. Not once did anyone ask how our meal was or ask if we needed any more drinks despite empty glasses on the table. Usually head here for breakfast which has always been pleasant and have had some decent evening meals there in the past. Has the change from Brewers to CP affected it that much?

Edit; gave them another xhance today. Waited and waited to be seated, four waiting staff one barman and two chefs all saw us and not one acknowledged us being there. One waitress looked at is and started telling the other waiter about her hair colour etc.....Had to ask for someone to find us a table so changed our minds and walked out. We definitely wont be back l. Popped in for some lunch today and there were three other tables occupied. One had already been served and the other two were ordering their food so only our table was waiting to order. Two soft drinks took about 15 minutes to come and one was completely wrong despite us ordering two of the same! We waited around 45 minutes for two simple meals, (horrible Iceland style oven chips with it), no more customers came in so no excuse for the delay. Waitress never approached to apologise for the wait (by the way we aren't 'guys' either before or after we ate. Only visited once during lockdown for a coffee and was slow but thought it was due to the COVID but clearly not. They just cant be bothered. Won't bother going back we almost gave up waiting and were going to get a burger from burger king across the road.

Service was excellent. And they have a good selection of alcohol free beers and wine. And a very, very good, soft play area for the little ones. Our grandchildren loved it. Will definitely visit again.

Since the Staff change the service is excellent however the food still remains poor

This place needs some serious improvement, we visited on a Saturday and the place lacked atmosphere. Staff looked miserable and the guy serving us at the bar was just taking his time pouring our drinks and clearly wasn’t bothered about the people next to me waiting to be served. Ordered the vegan burger and Tomato soup, both took ages to come out, soup first then the burger didn’t appear for my other guest for another half hour then when it came it was bland and tasteless. Toilets were filthy, no hand soap and toilet roll everywhere. Definitely would choose somewhere else next time.

Came in on Sunday afternoon with a few friends And was served by Frankie, the service was excellent and everyone came across as very friendly. Deffo would recommend.

Food took ages and then was cold. Bacon on my burger was shockingly cold (fridge cold) and obviously hadn't been warmed up at all. Sent back and was heated up but then the burger and fries were barely warm and very poor. Garlic mushrooms I asked to come out as a side were warm on outside but cold in the middle, again not great, sent back to be heated up. I booked with what I thought was a 40% off main menu food deal so didn't make a huge fuss but when I paid the bill i realised my deal was just 40% off mains. Waitress was gone who I'd originally complained to so I paid what was owed and left. Won't be returning for dinner again.

Post Christmas family meal together. Pleasant staff engaged 11yr old granddaughter in conversation about her choice of meal and asking about her Christmas presents which was nice. All meals were well presented and well cooked. We will certainly meet here again in future.

Sadly not a great experience but this is not the fault of what was a seemingly an understaffed team on a busy Sunday morning. Waited a while to be seated, coffee machine not working (so instant only today), food kept running out on the buffet and other minor things that add up to an underwhelming service. Would I go back based on this first visit, maybe not but this is not the fault of the team. They clearly needed more support.

If I could give 0 I would I walked in with freinds the table we set at was filthy and all plates and rubbish lift on the table we spoke to someone and asked if they could remove the plates and rubbish. The guy came over did 3 trips removing the plates ,cups, glasses, knives and folks . Then went make to the bar and carried on serving people . 🙄 he didn't wipe the table leaving bits of food bits of potatoe and rubbish still on the table. This is disgusting basic food hygiene. We where all shocked we even tryrd asking him to wipe the table which was ignored . So we walked out

Food is way over priced, and poor portion sizes, and Unfortunately is nothing special. the kids area closed early, Food items not available after ordering. Its a shame, but im not rushing to go back.

Staff were all friendly and helpful. I think today was a busier than normal day. There was always something that needed replenishing, or something that was broken. Not the fault of the staff, head office needs to provide more staff as there just wasn’t enough to go around.

We normally come once a week for breakfast, our fav place to come for a lovely breakfast, great tasting food and the staff are always so lovely, friendly and welcoming :)

This place is meant to be a help ur self buffet. It’s a joke nearly every time I got there it’s not help ur self buffet. It’s table order and that’s not what this place is meant to be. Help ur self means u can look and choose what food u want and hopefully find it the way u like it cooked as everyone has different ways of liking their food. I’d rather travel now to the 1 at Brampton hit Huntingdon they always have it as help ur self plus not like this place where half time when u can actually get breakfast the bread is hard the pastries are over cooked. Trust me ur better off travelling little further to get better service and better food. Shame I had to give 1 ⭐️ cos not option for -5 ⭐️.

Popped in for a bite eat after a long day out. Standard fare the same as Hungry Horse etc. Tasty, well cooked and fairly priced. Olly was polite and professional. The music nicely un-invasive.

The food quality and portion sizes have really let this place down recently. Been a regular at weekends for years but today was the final straw. Having just eaten what can only be described as a burnt kids portion, I'm left hungry and £15 lighter. My advice... go elsewhere.

Very busy and had to ask where our desserts were (which were ice cream so shouldn't have taken long). Otherwise, carvery was perfect.

Food is ok, big portions, cheap until 6p.m. (there is a special deal). But it's too long to wait, even if the pub is far not full.

Visited the other day for a pint, and was served by Frankie who was very approachable, friendly and funny. Definitely would recommend visiting.

Visited to celebrate a 5th birthday and the staff were incredible and added such an extra sparkle to her birthday celebrations. Everyone enjoyed their food and the kids loved running around in the soft play, but the service really was the highlight of the evening.

Visited with friends on a quiet Friday afternoon. Soft play was great, lots to do and only £4.50 per child for 90 mins. We then had a table booked for early dinner in the restaurant and it went down hill... we waited around an hour for our main course to come out and one main course was missing! This was only brought out when we queried where it was over 15 mins later! No apology or refund offered... The waitress was miserable and clearly did not want to be there!! As the car park only gives you 3 hours, we were cutting it short due to the long wait for our food and made the kids rush eating their dinners so we didn't go over the time. The food and drink itself were good, no complaints there - just a shame we couldn't enjoy it as we were so rushed to get out. A parking fine would of been the cherry on top to a disappointing experience - we literally had about 1 minute to spare! We'll return for the soft play but avoid the restaurant in the future.

Always good, very busy which meant some wait for new food to be put on buffet, but only a few minutes and with plenty of extra items to snack on whilst waiting.
