Service was very, very slow but the food was as you'd expect from McDonald's.

Second time in a month, I've ordered and paid for food, last time they gave me a code, for missing items. Just got bits for my son on the drive through. Get back home, missing items again. Rang the restaurant, and was told sorry. Your customer service from whoever I phoned today was useless. Why employ staff if they can't pick the items. I asked what the procedure is as I was told to email the store.

The usual, only sometimes items get missed from your order if you order for delivery. Drive thru service is good though and food mostly comes out hot. Have not dined in here so atmosphere unknown. Must comment on the Lovely cashier with amazing eyeshadow though!! Such a vibe

I am a delivery driver who works with food deliveries and most of the time we are discriminated against by all the workers at McDonald's. They pretend that the delivery people don't come. We are just service providers for McDonald's. The customer is the one who shouldn't be satisfied with the delay and the quality of the food after being prepared and delivered almost an hour later. You bosses and managers could put yourselves in the customer's shoes. You are McDonald's customers. Now put yourself in the delivery person's shoes. What do we earn per delivery?

Easy space to navigate, prompt service

Consistently the best run McDonald’s I’ve ever been to. Friendly and attentive staff, fresh burgers and clean restaurant. Highly recommend

App failed to work My phone was taken and order placed manually by a manager and he got the whole order completely wrong. Meaning I had to go back again to attempt to rectify it. Which wasn't really done. Would I recommend this branch nope go to Bar Hill or Huntingdon.

We waited in the car and when our food came it was hot off the hob, it was wonderful 😋

McDonald's St Ives is consistently great, it's the best around by far.

I ordered a ranch stacker meal, I live about 2 mins from Harrison way, when I got home the burger was cold, the chips were cold. The whole meal went in the bin. It was horrible 🤮

Food is somewhat of a mixed bag, but overall decent enough. Service generally is pretty good but can be slow at busy periods. Seating is pretty simplistic, fairly solid but also quite hard.

Didn't eat in so the only atmosphere was loud music in the car. Very nice breakfast roll

DO NOT USE DRIVETHROUGH. The worst mcdonalds drivethrough - always items missing. EVERY time I come here, there are chips missing. Just had 3 meals, all with no chips. Time before, there were 5 of us, we ordered 8 chips expecting them to miss some due to previous bad experience, we got 3 chips. Time before that, they missed an entire wrap meal. Time before that didn't give us any hash browns with our mcmuffin meals. I don't think they've ever got any of our orders right. Additionally, if you get told to park up and wait, they don't bring the food out, after 20 minutes you have to go in and they give you a cold meal saying they "couldn't find you".

They don’t seem to be able to get the orders right, items are often missing if you use the drive thru, so check your order before you drive away.

Can't go wrong with a Maccas for breakfast.

I don’t want to be dramatic, but this McDonald’s location has become a black hole of incompetence. Over 50% of my orders are wrong or missing something, and yet I keep coming back like an optimistic fool. Today was the final straw. You would think I would have learned. Once, I ordered a Big Mac and got home to discover it had no patties. None. Just bread, lettuce, and sauce. A vegan Big Mac? A “Big Sad”? Driving back, I was told, “We’ll get you another one for free.” No —it’s not free. I already paid for it! Free is when I don’t need to waste my time and petrol fixing your mistake. Fast forward to today. My stepdaughter ordered delivery, and an entire burger was missing. Delivery. The one service where you can’t just turn around and say, “Oh, I’ll grab it myself.” So what do we do? Drive back (again) to get it sorted. They offered extra fries and a drink as compensation. Really? The time, hassle, and petrol wasted are worth one sad paper bag of limp fries and some fizzy sugar water? Corporate, do you hear how ridiculous this is? Now, I want to make this crystal clear: this is not the fault of the workers. They’re underpaid, overworked, and doing the best they can under impossible circumstances. This mess is on the franchisee and corporate. If your policies don’t allow staff to offer compensation that reflects the customer’s actual level of hassle, then you are the problem. So here’s an idea: I’d like a “manager’s code” for a grand’s worth of free meals. Why? Because that’s approximately the value of my time, petrol, and stress spent fixing this location’s repeated mistakes over the years. Seems fair to me. This one McDonald’s has not only ruined countless meals, it’s making me reconsider my entire relationship with the brand. As a shareholder, I can’t in good conscience keep investing in a company that can’t even deliver two all-beef patties and a bun. My money deserves better, and so do your customers. But I know I’ll keep coming back—because the lure of the Golden Arches is just too strong. I’m pathetic. At least until St Ives gets a KFC.

We just ordered something from them. It’s Boxing Day, it’s quiet, apart from us, there was one other car, that’s all! But they managed to get the order wrong! One very upset child, thanks to the wonderful staff

I wondered what would happen first, the second coming, or a large diet coke. The answer was coke after waiting 25 minutes

We ordered 31 happy meals and additional food for my daughter’s 6th birthday. We took the food away to the place we were having the party and the food order was spot on. The staff never came across annoyed that they were having to work hard on one order and helped us out to the car with the items! One even saw that I had left my phone on the counter and made sure I got it back safe and sound! We’re just really thankful as I was stressing about it and the guys at the store made it 100% ‘enjoyable’. Huge thank you, also to Abbey who took the call initially and passed it onto the team in preparation and the gentleman looking after us at the store on Saturday was absolutely lovely. I’ve completed the online feedback form too, I hope this makes its way into the restaurant for praise.

4/5 times I use this McDonald’s they get my order wrong when there is quite literally a sticker on the wrapper saying what it should be and then make it a chore to get it corrected. My most recent visit had me go in and change an item because it was incorrect only to give me a replacement that was also incorrect…

It's McDonald's, what's not to like?

I had a breakfast roll. It was thrown together, but that is normal for McDonald's. I use the app to order, but here it didn't work properly. I spoke to a staff member who put my order straight through for me.

Food is always hot. However we always have something missing in this case they missed 2 brownies a apple pie and a chicke mayo. They wasn't even that busy

Best McDonald's by miles. The food is always fresh and hot. Hardly ever have things out of stock or machines not working, like the one in Cambridge.

Always get the orders wrong. Staff don't seem to have any customer service training. Today I waited 25 minutes in store for my order. When I chased they couldn't do find the order (ordered from self service kiosk). Eventually food arrived and reason it wasn't made was because they didn't have the cookie I ordered🙄 I asked for a refund for the cookie but only only one till was working. With I queue I left. No apology given.

Awful. Always get orders wrong, always delayed. Order took an hour to leave and instead of canceling it they decided to just keep dragging it out and assigning new riders, then giving attitude on the phone when called. AVOID. Worst mcdonalds in the UK.

Pretty quiet even though school holidays had started. Place very clean and pretty large. Had problems with the App so used the screens to order and the App generated code. Large car park.

Coke had no ice really warm food cold missing items very rude staff won’t ever be returning.

What can I say... its a McDonald's... usual menu... reasonable service. Sometimes there's more of a wait than others. Sometimes when you ask for extra pickles you only get one slice, other times you get a few. They're really poor at letting you have your receipt.

Ita placed in a very convenient place. A 15 mins walk from st ives centre.

Liked the place and we had fun, but must say the playground for kids is full of food and drings seems like it hasn't been cleaned in ages

Incompetent staff. Even more Incompetent managers! Every time they send a mcdelivery order, part of the meal is missing. Wait for it, the best part is that they tell you that there's nothing they can do to resolve the situation. 6 times is no longer a mistake, purely a lack of attention to detail.

Items are always missing when ordered online and delivered. No ice in drinks again and chips are always cold. Why is it so hard to get the orders correct?? Usually from the drive thru much better.

I traveled here to meet some friends I have met before from the Internet, was really good it was a nice sunny day, plenty of room out side good shade too with the set up they had. Food was less then normal and I had to ask for lettuce on my quarter cuz they have taken that option off the self service menu board. The food was dry little cold was a shame really. The manager was very good about tho, but was very slow to see that there was a customer waiting at till.

Something wasn't right ...none of the food I had had the classic McDonald's smell or taste. Very odd McDonald's experience. This McDonald's is also one of the more expensive sites and I don't see why. It is actually cheaper to go to the McDonald's at the nearby service station.

Always clean restaurant and quick service

Never quiet if your order will be right from this branch. Always check before you leave drive thru or sit down inside. They don't mind re making the order but be nice to have it correct more times than not.

Fairly consistent, the chips are sometimes a let down. Milkshake machine always seems to work

Visited this McDonald's location since 2020 and it's always been the best in the area. Much better than the one over at the Cambridge Motorway Services or Huntingdon. Drive thru and car park can get very busy at lunchtime after 1130am. Our orders have always been correct and wonderful service by the staff whetherwe dined in or the drive thru. I fully recommend this location for fast, hot food.

Once again the food was awful! The chips tasted of old oil and barely any salt and the drinks were basically weird flavoured water! I am so sick of this McDonalds. DO NOT VISIT

The worst McDonalds branch in the country. Service is slow, food is badly cooked and the restaurant is full of delivery drivers creating a bad atmosphere. New management is desperately needed at this branch.

Been into this one a few times recently as it's the closest one to where the site was en route. Great food, hot and prepared properly, very little grease in comparison to some others I've eaten from. The problem with this branch is the service is THE worst I have experienced in the Golden Arches. Went in to get breakfast, not busy when we arrived and parked, only 5 customers inside with 4 sat eating and the 5th was waiting for his food he had ordered from the screen as we entered. Used the screen to order and our food came out about 5 minutes before the other customers food even got to the counter. I had ordered a regular iced strawberry lemonade and when checking the order before leaving (as always), I noticed there was no straw for the drink. I went back to the counter and all staff were in other areas and none were working the counter so I called out and asked for a straw in the hope a staff member would at least acknowledge my request.... Nope, no such luck! 2 members of staff walked past the door on the other side where the drive thru serving window is - no acknowledgement. So I called out a second time, louder than the first request but not shouting - I have a deep voice and COPD keep in mind - and after a couple of minutes of waiting, another member of staff walking past the opening into the kitchen saw me and still no acknowledgement to my request for a straw. So after a couple of minutes waiting again, I raised my voice and projected it throughout the store, over the top of every noise going on but still not shouting. Within less than 5 seconds the manager side stepped out of the area where the drive thru window is, the way he stepped through the door indicated he had been working the other side of the wall and had chosen to ignore me - the customer who has been given their order without a straw for the cold drink and none were out in the restaurant area as I had checked this before even going to the counter - and he then has the cheek to tell me not to shout, I hadn't shouted I had projected my voice there is a difference between the two. My point is the branch manager chose to ignore a customer making a reasonable request to continue whatever he was doing, (I am an ex-kitchen manager) as a manager you are supposed to lead by example - no wonder the other staff members didn't acknowledge me with leadership like him leading by example. Are you not also trained as a manager to deal with heated situations by not antagonising the situation by giving attitude or being rude towards the other party, you're supposed to be diplomatic and reassuring in these moments. I truly believe we all have bad days/moments but within your customer service based job role within a company as well branded as McDonald's, you should not direct your bad moments towards others, whether staff and especially not towards a customer. This branch manager requires either further training in the areas raised in this review or demotion to a position where his contact with customers is at a bare minimum. Shame really as otherwise this review would have been different but after this experience in this branch, I really will drive on by this branch from now on. Thanks but NO THANKS, leaving this branch of the Golden Arches to either up and die like the weed it is......

Parking Compact... Disabled Parking Bays Full. They We therefore opted to eat were exceptionally in the car,,,as hubby needs to open his door fully to get out. Just one of those things ...

Potentially slowest McDonalds in the local area. It took over 30 minutes to sort out a basic order. I used to go here all the time but now it has gone downhill. Cooking food using a magnifying glass may actually be quicker than trying to order food here.
