Myself and my family were staying 5 miles away at hanbury barns for my nephews wedding. We needed somewhere for breakfast and the Hideaway fitted the bill. Nice food, efficient service. Thank you

Nice little setting All fresh food, we had jacket potato with Tuna/mayo Very disappointed with the jacket, over microwaved and potato was green through the bottom. Was looking forward to a proper crispy ( oven baked spud)

Great place for lunch, a good selection of sandwiches and jacket potatoes plus amazing cakes! Very friendly staff and excellent service.

Nice food and quick service. Very quick to take away any empties. Overall good but it's very bright and noisy so not a relaxing atmosphere. The overhead bright spotlights and ceiling lights are just too office like, needs some subdued lighting in the seating area.

I've been a few times and always have a wonderful experience. 10/10 on everything. Food, cleanliness, staff, service, warmth, etc. There's nothing I would want different. So thank you from me for an always lovely dining experience

Booked afternoon tea for my partner and his mum for a pre birthday joint celebration. The staff were so lovely and were very welcoming and provided copious amounts of tea. They were happy to cope with all our requests and provided an amazing afternoon which catered to various dietary requirements. The sandwiches were amazing with lovely filings which were a little different to the norm. The bread was amazing. The cakes sublime. We had the most amazing time and the hideaway made the event really special. Thank you. We will be back!!

Nice cake and coffee, pot of tea is good value. My friend had a panini which arrived quickly hot and well served. My only criticism is it feels like the staff look at you like you've outstayed your welcome if you take too long over your cuppa. They seem very rushed - probably are when it's busy - not too welcoming but maybe because they're busy. Twice I've been in now and thought this - shame as food is good.

My daughter and I came for lunch. We had paninis. They arrived promptly and were yummy. Lots to choose from and I love that there is a selection of salad dressings to choose from and homemade coleslaw. We also had coffee which was piping hot. I would definitely go back and would recommend this lovely little cafe. It was busy when we went on a Monday which shows how good it is!

I absolutely adore a quality espresso and the coffee they use is second to none. Staff is friendly and even though I'm not that crazy for desserts,I tried the carrot cake once,it was delicious.

Visited at lunch time for a light lunch. Staff were happy to split our sandwich between two plates, each with side salad etc. When we ordered desert, we were asked if we would like to split that too. Food was fresh and tasty. Enjoyed our meal.

Bright and cheerful cafe. They are really lovely and friendly staff. The lattes are good and the homemade chocolate cake with ice cream is really tasty, fresh and beautifully made. Will be back the next time we are in Burton.

Only had hot drinks and cake but was all very lovely. Very busy for a Wednesday afternoon too - always a good sign.

Went with a friend last week.We love your new location.It is spacious,light and airy.Staff are polite and friendly. I had a toastie.Very well presented.The filling was lovely.Plenty of salad with it.Did thing the cake,as lovely as they were,were a little expensive. There are some lovely gifts for sale there.

First time that we have visited since they moved to new premises. Beautiful decor, very clean, and more space. Still the same menu and service. We enjoyed our lunch and were pleasantly surprised to be offered a top up for our teapot.

Little cafe but does have seats at the back. Staff are really friendly and nothing to much trouble. Best coffee in the whole town, food is cooked to order and is full of flavour. Cakes are amazing, homemade as well and you can take them...

Popped in on Sunday. We just fancied a good cuppa so went to The Hideaway. Really relaxed atmosphere with prompt service. It was approaching the end of their opening hours so not overly busy, therfore our teas were with us really quickly. I know this might seem a silly thing to point out, but we've been to many places where it's not busy at all but it seems to take an age and a day to get your order. Fantastic cuppa, owner came over to offer more hot water which is an extra bonus (not everywhere would offer; you'd have to ask) Haven't eaten here in a while but saw another order being delivered and standards are still high. Definitely worth a visit.

Found this by chance, the food is excellent, really fresh. The homemade coleslaw is fab. Great for people watching.

This place is a little gem. Only found it by chance. You do feel like you are hiding away from the world as you are tucked into small but charming spaces. Very pink. Very sweet. Lovely fresh food. Helpful service and very kind to my elderly mother. Will be revisiting.

Staff a little bit rude , maybe because it was a Sunday and a full house for a friends big birthday , however , the food that we left over was sat on our table for a good hour before taken away by a staff member . Selection of cakes was minimal and the drinks over priced

My friend and I had a lovely afternoon tea, lovely and friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble, and made sure we had everything we wanted, the tea included sandwiches, scones, clotted cream, jam and cakes where all excellent quality, but to top is all off you get a triffle as well, worth every bit of £10. It’s small and intimate with a nice level of service. The coffee is drinkable unlike the stuff in Costa just down the road. Had a nice cake and the presentation was lovely. Will definitely come back.

My first visit here, but it won't be my last. I had the Staffordshire oatcakes served with sausage, beans, salad and coleslaw. It was the best oatcakes I have ever had. For dessert I had the cherry crumble tart and cream. Again excellent. The coffee and tea my wife had (Yorkshire Tea), rounded off an excellent meal. We'll certainly be visiting again

I went in on the 17th of December with my cousin, we were reading the menu on the window and saw oatcakes on the menu - for two Stokies this was the winning menu. I had the sausage and cheese with beans and my cousin the bacon and cheese with beans. Perfect and filled us up for a hectic day of shopping. I called again with the other half on the 21st and had the same again, it was equally as lovely and fuelled us for the whole day. They do a nice cup of coffee too, very clean, lovely staff and nice prices for the large portions they serve. Stokies eating oatcakes outside of Stoke we can be a bit critical - not in this case they were fantastic. We will return

Marvellous cafe with excellent, friendly staff and it's got a great menu. I had an amazing blue tea (butterfly pea and lemongrass herbal tea) that turned purple when you added lemon... really! Great subtle flavour. There's Staffordshire oatcakes, sandwiches, jacket potatoes, lovely cakes and gluten free brownies available on request... Give it a try!

we are quite regulars on a Saturday lovely hot coffee bacon sandwich Tuesday was a solo visit so chocolate milkshake and choc mint cake for brunch lovely fresh cake ,only spoilt by three women with screaming children they seamed oblivious to the volumne of the noise but wouldn't stop me from returning

Stopped by for a takeaway lunch whilst visiting the town... I am a fussy eater and totally refused to eat sandwiches like my children so we set off to find something to make me happy!

Wonderful food and service. We had a omelette and it was simply delicious. Very light and perfect for a warm sunny day lunch. We had a pot of tea and she even came to ask if she could top our teapot up. Couldn’t fault anything. Will definitely be going here again , very soon

Me and my partner were looking for somewhere to go for breakfast in Burton over the weekend.

One of my best friends introduced me to this cafe and all the staff know her and have little jokes with her. We go here every time we meet up without fail for our lunch. Best place in Burton for food and drinks. Great staff, very friendly. I think the menu is fabulous and I always enjoy whatever I order. I've never disliked my food. I think the prices are great. If I lived in Burton I'd be here every single day. Best milkshakes around, I had a mocha once and it was the best I've had. I don't normally rave this much about a cafe but there's not many I actually trust with food. I'm usually very fussy but not in this cafe. No fussiness from me here.

I'd heard about this place and saw that it had a 5 star rating on trip advisor so decided to visit. Wow!! What a fantastic cafe. I would give it 10 stars if I could. The place inside is beautiful and quaint. There is a varied menu which is very reasonable. I had a lovely salad and mint aero milkshake. It's a child friendly place as I had my baby with me. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I absolutely loved it and cannot wait to visit again

I visited this little cafe after reading reviews right here on Tripadvisor and it certainly lived up to the hype. We ordered paninis and they were probably the best paninis I've had for a long time. The food presentation was amazing. The cafe, though small, was clean and the service was friendly and hospitable.

Oh my days! The homemade cakes here are to die for. I couldn't resist the millionaire shortbread cake you had last week. If I had room I'm sure I'd of had a slice of the french fancy one too. I haven't been in for a while but with cakes like them it may become a weekly visit. Also loving that you do Mr Whippy Ice cream to go with them. Excellent job again ladies well done

I have visited this cafe on both occasions and I find the staff to be fantastic and the food to be amazing and reasonably priced a hidden gem in new street in Burton I’d definitely recommend this place for breakfast and lunch and will certainly be coming back.

This has become our new place to go, the food is delicious and the service is great. Some of the freshest and best cake in town, the staff seem to really care about their customers and the quality of their food. I over heard a conversation between server and customer about not wanting to serve a slice of cake due to it not being 100% fresh and I love that, I like knowing I'm getting something good for my money! Haha. Defiantly a cut about the rest of the cafe's in town, super surprised the rating here isn't higher.

the hideaway food and service is excellent and value for money , definatley be returning better than other cafes been to everything cook3d freshly ,had an Mediterranean veg and feta omelette ans coconut latte and was definately very filling and worth tbe money , child friendly and pushchair and wheelchair accessible as well.

This is a real gem in New Street Burton. It is excellent value and the food is so delicious my favourite is the omelette best I have ever had. My grandaughters favourite is the pesto chicken and mozzerlla. Can't speak highly enough of this place. The staff are also very attentive x

Popped in for a coffee. Loved the flat white - better than Costa. Very friendly staff. Breakfast looked really nice and excellent value. Unfortunately breakfast is only served until.11, so will have to come again

My sister and I met at The Hideaway for a catch up.

This was our first visit to this cafe. We were not disappointed. The corned beef sandwich was lovely. It came on thick crusty bread with red onion chutney, coleslaw, side salad and crisps. The cheese panini was also very tasty. The mocha coffee was a bit bland but the tea and latte were fine.

Our grand daughter bought us an afternoon tea as our Christmas present, we went on Valentine’s Day and it was excellant. Beautiful sandwiches,cakes,scones and trifle and plenty of tea or coffee, very good and friendly service

Came to hideaway with my partner and son (who is nearly 4 months old), we were greeted and my son needed a feed before we ordered they were lovely about it didnt rush us, which thought was nice as most cafes would rush u tp order as might think using them just to sit there, we ordered food it came so quick, lovely presented on the plate and loads to choices on menu tpp, i have had afternoon tea there before which you have to book in advance as they freshly make everyrhing which is so worth it, advice anyone to try there afternoon tea and go there, staff and place lovely, highly recommended

Excellent choice of food. Very tasty especially the homemade cakes. Staff are always happy to help. We always try to go each week. My daughter sophie especially likes the picnic table they do and the crepes and of course the milkshakes great value

Husband and I were shopping in burton and came across this gem . The cafe does light lunches and afternoon teas . We both partook in the ploughman’s lunch which was lovely and at under £5 each was even more impressive ! We had a pot of tea which was topped up whenever we wanted . The staff were very friendly , their customer service was great . We would definitely recommend .

During the summer I found myself popping in this lovely cafe several times with different friends and I can honestly say I was never disappointed. There is a varied selection of food which is always beautifully presented and very good quality. Portion sizes are very generous and surprisingly not expensive at all. Definitely a great place to eat. A special thank you to the friendly staff who looked after my special dietary needs. All the staff are fab but I couldn't write a review without mentioning Helen who is always so happy to help.

This is a small cafe so at times can be a little squashed. But the staff are really friendly and go out of the way to help. It is a little dearer than some cafes in town but it is worth it. The milkshakes are amazing and I love their coffee, great selection of food and I love their omelettes and crepes. The do microwave their jackets so would not have them again but that is personal choice but would love some simpler cakes.

This was a first time visit and came with my son for a treat. We sat in the little hideaway at the back and were very comfortable. The staff were very helpful and extremely friendly and the cakes were divine. However this was totally spoilt by the cost. I was not expecting to pay £17 for 2 luxury milkshakes and 2 pieces of cake!!!

We came in on a busy Saturday morning, there was 4 adults 1 child, we all had something to eat and drink, all the food came out hot, tasty. We were all so happy with the service and yummy food. Lovely clean restaurant with lovely seating, great place to eat and drink, the cakes all looked so yummy. Thank you all.

Our group of friends have been here for Afternoon Tea. What can I say? One of the best Afternoon Teas we've had. The sandwiches were delicious, beautiful light scones, delightful little trifles in tiny Mason jars, light and fluffy cupcakes and tiny petit fours. Plenty of tea and coffee. Sadly they are not licensed yet, but we were able to take our own Prosecco, glasses were provided. The attention to detail was perfect. Becci, thank you so much. We have had the most wonderful time. Can't praise The Hideaway enough.

We had a beautiful afternoon tea! The place is small and quaint. It's lovely inside and it is one of the best afternoon tea's we have had. The cakes were tasty, pretty and the stand had little trifle jars which were different. The sandwiches were very nice and there were a lot of flavors. We also had a unicorn hot chocolate which looked and tasted great! We will definitely be back and would recommend the place to anyone.

Well where do I start! I've been in before but only for coffee, which may I add is better than any I've had in Burton. I booked in for an afternoon tea with the family, from start to finish the experience was very professional. Easy to book and very helpful down to any dietary requirements. We arrived to our table quaintly set with a gingham tablecloth and personalised little chalk board easel, lovely to see the little touches. Soon our food was brought to us. First impressions from us all, wow! Elegantly set out on a glass cake stands. The sandwiches were lovely and fresh, definitely a good selection. Chicken, pesto and mozzarella being my favourite. Then on to the puddings. Lovely to see homemade sponges and trifles. The attention to detail was spot on. Clear to see the ladies know what they're doing. In this business it's so easy to fall into the trap of having things made and brought in. Well done to all. Our afternoon didn't feel rushed at any point. Lovely atmosphere and the staff were brilliant as always. Thank you ladies keep up the work, we shall definitely be back.

Been here endless amounts of times, great and perfect each time. Staff are lovely and engage in conversation with you. Great range of drinks and lots of choice on the menu! Even do crepes and waffles. Setting is so lovely I feel like I'm at home, calming and warm. Great value for money. Can be busy but that's not a problem!

Used to be called 'Mocha' but now renamed 'The Hideaway' due to new owners who are lovely (needed a phone charger on one visit and the owner went to the phone shop next door to borrow one!!!) Very comfortable and nice atmosphere. The humous with crudités is AMAZING value but they also have a wide selection of Panini's, toasties, sandwiches etc. Keep your eyes on their Facebook page as they are always advertising something new and interesting. They obviously take what they do very seriously and always put the customer first. Would recommend.
