The Healey in Rochdale

I used to visit here regularly, however, back at Mother’s Day had quite a bad time in regards to customer service. Not getting drinks amongst other things, it pains me to say this has not improved. Although the overall food was good, I do feel, chips with pulled beef has gone downhill. That however wasn’t my main issue. I went with 2 other adults, 2 of us ordered a starter and the third did not want one. On getting our food our starters and mains were all delivered at the same time, my daughter asked for some mayo, simple request it was forgotten completely. I won’t be returning!

Not been here before. Good atmosphere though and the staff seem friendly. I had Katsu Fish to start it was spicy and a big portion more than I could handle. Mains I had Creamy Chicken Tagliatelle with Spinach. It was more like a soup with noodles tiniest amount of spinach I've seen and chunky tomato at the bottom to make the dish look bigger. Shame the sauce didn't stick to the pasta.

Excellent food, service and atmosphere in the beautiful outside area. Defo be back with friends. 2 steaks cooked to perfection and beautiful prawn salad, surprisingly filling

An excellent pub. The food yesterday was fantastic...and well priced for food of that quality. Good beer and Nice guy behind the bar too.

Food is pretty good, classic pub food types with some interesting specials, lovely staff and a chilled family atmosphere, some of the chairs need sorting out, there's a couple of benches etc inside that are properly uncomfortable, but that's my only note

As soon as I entered the Healey I was greeted by a really welcoming and kind server who I think is called Seb (not 100% sure) but the service was excellent and the food was impeccable my compliments to the chef and the amazing pot wash!

Absolutely amazing food, the pork pie is delicious for people with small appetites, but a great selection of other food to choose from on the menu for people who do really enjoy their food, Terry is an amazing host and will do anything to make sure your stay is enjoyable and stress free, my daughter loves the food here 👍 be back again soon

The best pub in Rochdale now. Food is great, good service, wide range of drink and special gin and tonic menu. Must try the roasted chilli and stilton/cheddar cheese chunky chips. Great vegan options too. Beer garden round the back and side with relaxed atmosphere.

Was recommended to us..... and it didn't disappoint!! Brilliant service, thank you! Absolutely delicious, traditional food that didn't cost the earth. The sweet potato & chickpea curry is highly recommended, as was my rag pudding chips mushy peas. A great range of drinks and appetizers too, in a cosy traditional public house setting. All in all top notch☝🏻👍🏻

Usually a great place to eat but noisy clients, with there phones at a loud setting spoilt our enjoyment, I don't think this happens often.

Lovely eatery. The hot beef and lamb sandwiches are the best by far and the gravy is excellent. The soups are hot, tasty and always something different. The staff are so friendly even at busy times. Love this place which we have frequented many times.

Great food and place but pricey

A great pub. We had a mid-week lunch here. Food was great, especially the sticky toffee pudding! Staff were really friendly and helpful. Can’t fault it!

Overall, excellent. I’ve been twice to this pub/restaurant with my girlfriend, my dearest mother and my sister. On both occasions the food has been brilliant and the service impeccable. On the second visit, atmosphere was rather noisy, however it was somebody birthday party so can’t really complain - it was their weekend too. Overall, I think business deserves fantastic recognition for food, service and atmosphere. In terms of cleanliness, again, can’t really complain. Very clean. Next time I’m up north I shall be visiting again.

Nice pub. Nice food. Great service, but slightly unprofessional young staff (not in a bad way!) They're just enjoying themselves and it was nothing upsetting. The food was all fresh, well prepared & tasty. Reasonably priced and fair. Had a nice night.

A lovely varied menu with lots of choice (including desserts). Cheese and onion pie was great and seemed really home made.

The Healey is an amazing place to eat reasonably priced for the quality of food, the cheese and onion pie is amazing and highly recommended the salt and pepper Squid, Terry our waiter is excellent and couldn't do enough for us hats off to him keep up the good work guys looking forward to coming back and trying more on the menu 👍

Great service in a great local pub

Really liked this pub. Got taken there by friends whilst staying in Rochdale. Good food. Excellent service.

My work team came here for our Christmas Lunch in December. Even at the busiest time of year the food was amazing, delicious and well presented, the service wonderful and atmosphere was great. This was the second Christmas Lunch we’ve had here, it was so good last year we came back and we were not disappointed.

Says dogs allowed but we were turned away sadly

Took my grandma here for dinner again today, absolutely love the place. Mega food, lovely choice of beers, great atmosphere, amazing staff. Thank you.

Very local to us so come quite often. Always lovely food and staff. Me and my husband went for dinner this evening and it was lovely. I had the grilled sea bass and I just wish it was on the main menu all the time it was that delicious. Hats off to the staff too. Very friendly …. And you know your in a good place when they already know what your drinking 🤣 10/10 for us 😀

Wow o wow what can I say had the pulled beef melted cheese with jalapenos and fries .it was cooked to perfection the beef just melted on my tounge .I'm in pulled beef heaven at the moment I recomend this quiet little pub it's qurkey and still has that old look to it the pub you want to go to and spend time in

What a gem food and service was excellent Rib eye steak very good . This place has best ever Sticky Toffee pudding it is seriously is the best!! Parking is a problem on busy days. Visted several times when in the UK and never disappointed

Really welcoming with good food.

A great little pub, good food at a reasonable cost with good service and pleasant surrounding . The down side , unfortunately, is the lack of parking as there is no car park and is reliant on street parking, which is limited, The pub is very popular and close to Healey Dell nature reserve. Worthy of a visit.

Food always great, service always great! Fast becoming one of our fave places!

Had their rump steak from specials board. Oh. My. Goodness - please make this a regular on your menu. Cooked exactly to my liking, exceptionally good quality piece of meat!! Served with chips and salad, opted to add their Stilton sauce (which has added chillies and that day was a little too many, but still tasty). Others had cheese and onion pie which they really enjoyed. Always a great place (and local) to eat/drink

Beautiful place. The beer garden is lovely, and quiet despite being by a main road. Gorgeous food, and the staff are always friendly and accommodating.

Lovely experience as always but the man that seated us and took our orders this evening was delightful and was just so friendly even the kids said so! Food was lovely (anyone complaining about food - this isn’t a Michelin star restaurant it is a local pub please get a grip - even so is above average “pub grub”) service was quick. There seemed to be a mix of regulars and irregulars such as ourselves (so to speak). My grandad drank here for many years and I used to come plays boules in the back as a kid so is so nice to return 20 years later and still feel like a local even though I’m not. A credit to your lovely staff

Poor experience. Brought starter and main course together, potatoes burnt and beef tough, crust on pies rock hard .Not acceptable. Beer was very good.

Food was 100% as was service ...2 women were terribly drunk and noisy and should have been removed really but we are going again .loved meal and staff were good

The cakes and ice cream were nice but over priced tbh, I think I paid 22 pounds for 2 cakes and 2 coffees. Wasn't impressed with the price. I would expect 2 x breakfasts for this price. They are in a nice spot next to the river, which was nice. Was served by a couple of minors who seated us and gave the dog treads and water before telling us the kitchen was closed, I'm sure waiting staff are to check for allergies before seating as my partner has a nut allergy. Il probably not be returning, I'm just not comfortable with being served by kids and the whole 1940s music theme just not for me, maybe someone else's cup of tea

Worst experience on Christmas Eve.. table booked for 6 people for 8am .arrived 7.30.hoping to perhaps have a drink before our meal ..seeing as we were in a public house!!. was told by ignorant bar staff member to wait outside on decking.. until table available, luckily it wasn’t raining!! Waited outside whilst observing other people entering Healey.. (they were not instructed to wait outside )..we went back inside at 8pm to have to wait another 10 minutes for table !! Eventually got table & food was poor.. Won’t be returning…shame as we were regular customers

Watched England get kicked out of the 2022 world cup here unfortunatley. Nice pub though. Friendly staff and nice food

Always a friendly, warm welcome. A great selection of food and drink and always excellent quality and value. I would particularly recommend their roasts and cheesecakes. It sometimes gets quite busy, so I would advise you to book.

The food here is so good. I love the rag pudding but I've tried a few of the specials, sandwiches and other mains and they have all been really nice. The staff are always friendly too.

I’m so glad I found a new place for a Sunday roast. Really tasty and decent vegetables. Bonus is its dog friendly.

We ate here for the 1st time today. 1st class food. The menu is very good and I was hard pressed what to choose. We had Fish and chips and the chicken salad which was really excellent. There is a Beautiful garden to the side to sit and relax in the sunshine. It’s only a 5 minute walk from Healey Dell also. Highly recommended 😎

Came this evening for my Grandma’s 70th birthday. And the food was amazing I had a roast ‘on a Wednesday!!’ Everything was lovely roast beef was cooked to perfection. Great atmosphere and price was reasonable, will definitely come again

The food is tasty big steak cut chips .. service is brilliant I like the way you get asked what you would like to drink if you know before you sit down .. lots of places take you to the table & your waiting 10 mins to even order for a drink 🍸 recommend The Healey a worthy 5 stars

Park on road, wait to be shown to table. Very busy on Tuesday night. Specials displayed on tv. Partner thought garlic nan chicken kebab gorgeous. I had cheesy chips small, came with blue cheese & chilli as well so a nice edge. Beer also appreciated & cider got a table without booking. Sticky toffee pudding looked good as did other desserts. Outside seating area at side of pub. Did table service for drink as well asgo to bar. Dogs and kids in. Football put on tvs. Prices gone up. 2 diet cokes put an unwanted hike on bill.

Fantastic food, fantastic service. Could maybe do with more staff as the 2 ladies working are run off their feet but doing a great job!!

Visited The Healey on a Thursday evening having first made a reservation. I hadn't been for over ten years and I was pleasantly surprised at how much it had improved. The service was super friendly and well organised. The menu is pretty good with a decent range of options. Price for two people was under £40 including drinks. Well worth a visit.

This is a great pub. Good menu, well priced and a good choice of ales that are kept very well by the team working in the pub. This pub is well worth a visit, you won't be disappointed.

My family (6 adults and 3 children) visited for the first time. A fabulous Sunday lunch!! The service was friendly and the food really tasty. Nothing was toi much trouble. Will definitely be back. 😃

Whilst some locals were closed on a Tuesday evening it was nice to find a place friendly and atmospheric. Only called for a few drinks with my son I fund it pleasant and welcoming. Some people were eating and from I saw the food went down well. Will definitely call again soon.

Had a Sunday Lunch. Very enjoyable but the Yorkshire Pudding was too big and overdone. The portions are large. In years gone by this would not have been a problem but with advancing years I can't eat it all. I hate waste and I will ask for a smaller meal on the next visit. The service was very good and will definitely be returning. Excellent beer.
