Had amazing burger that had such a rollercoaster of amazing tastes (maple bacon burger) from chef Spencer. The open mic night was incredibly entertaining would defo recommend if you haven’t been there Thank you to Emmie, Cathal and Sophie on the bar as well. Top service.

Cool place but could be more better if you guys can sort that big pot holes at the front out.

Place is alright. But nothing special. Food was not my cup of tea. We had chicken wrap, fish wraps and some chilli tacos. All in all not nice. Team was friendly. Would not visit this pub again.

Haven't been in a while and I did enjoy going back in. Looking forward to trying wing wednesday as long as they have crispy skin!

Vit & Team are friendly, AJ's comedy on tap is brilliant, vibe has really improved over the last few years, a nice mix for locals, students and regulars. Shuffle board, pool tables and darts have been a great idea. Looking forward to seeing more of the weekend events. Update thanks also to new pub Manager James, he's a perfect fit for the Tap. Dan & Spencer in kitchen, the pizzas are great & Tom, Spencer, Sophie, Cathal and rest of the bar team!

Came in for comedy last Thursday, had a great time, recommend the homemade pizzas!! Props to James who made our visit enjoyable and has moved the bar in a brilliant direction! We will be back :)

Dark interior, various beers on tap, music was a bit loud for comfortable conversation during the afternoon. Staff were friendly and welcoming and the toilets were in good condition on the day we visited. Food was okay.

Hired function room Tap 2 for our daughters 21st birthday. 17th February 2024. A great room for larger style parties. (Ours approx 70) however would fit alot more. It has its own bar and separate toilets. Big dance floor! We had free reign to decorate the room as we wanted and hired our own dj and photo booth which the room has ample space to suit. All the food was ordered directly from them also which was a hot and tasty mixed buffet of freshly cooked pizza, wraps, nachos, wedges, fries and chicken strips. The pizzas and wraps were particularly amazing! Our party did spill out into the main pub but I can honestly say everyone mixed well and there was a nice atmosphere generally within the pub side. The manager Tristan was professional and accomodating to our needs whilst planning with excellent communication throughout the process. All of his team including security staff on the night were all extremely helpful and welcoming. We all had a really fun, stress free night! Would highly recommend!

We hired the hall for a photoshoot for my Mum's 80th. The hall is lovely to be in, clean and the host was very welcoming and helpful! Thank you, very much! We will be back!

Much nicer establishment since becoming the Hatfield Tap. There is an adjacent room that can be hired out for all types of events - Dagda music is a top tier choice

Nice pub, great pizza and loaded chips. We were allowed to take our dog in too.. He enjoyed one of the natural dog treats from the dog menu... We will definitely be back....

Lovely atmosphere excellent bar staff little expensive but to be expected from a mc mullen establishment great bar games UPDATE After a excellent first visit unfortunately had a really bad experience celebrating a friends birthday last night. Everything was going great until my friend was manhandled out of the premises for no apparent reason by the over zealous security staff much to the disappointment of bystanders who could see no reason why he was asked to leave unfortunately some people holding a sia badge think they are judge and jury to make matters worse my friend was repeatedly asked to throw the first punch in the car park. Not the best way to end a birthday celebration which spoilt the whole evening.for this reason I have withdrawn my 5 stars to 1 star but have given 5 stars for the pleasant bar staff. No wonder the place was half empty on a Friday night. I am in no hurry to return to the establishment

Decent pub with sports on TV, pool and shuffleboard as well as board games. I can imagine great on a night out. Food was decent but took a bit long despite there being very few people in there (was a Tuesday night). Tables out the front but not many suitable tables to eat if there are more than 4 of you.

Friendly staff. They turn the music up to 11.

Ate there for the 1st time since referb. Was not the greatest as food was cold after waiting 45mins to come out and not really food busy. But I will say the way they delt with our complaint was fantastic so hats off to the way they delt with the situation

Worlds apart from what it used to be as the harrier! Friendly staff, tasty food - homemade burgers are awesome and pizzas! Chilled vibe it general... shuffle board, pool and big screens is all that one needs!

Noisy pub with some beers and food. Mcmullens hasn't done a lot to it when they refurbished it compared to many of the others they own, missed opportunity as it is the only pub serving a large corner of the town. Not a very imaginative refurb. A bit more stuff to break up the interior and some soft furnishings and things could stop it being so noisy as one loud group on another side of the single large room can make it so you can barely hear a conversation while sat at a table having a drink or meal. Food is OK but found a lot of it very salty. Fish and chips took best part of an hour a few weeks ago even though there were barely any other people eating in there. But it was nice when it came out eventually. Another time a burger came out with half of it missing and had to send it back to have the other patty added. Wasn't very nice for the price, it is not cheap food here. A lot of the time it is relatively empty even though the catchment area for the pub is huge, there are smaller pubs with much more competition in other parts of town which get a lot more custom so the potential is huge, especially when the area is fully redeveloped with all the new flats on the doorstep. There is a lot more potential for this place but mcmullens needs to invest in it like they do some of their other pubs, this is a poor relation compared to the interiors of many of their other pubs around Hertfordshire and other places they own pubs. You wouldn't think they're owned by the same company if you looked at this one and then some of their others! The staff working there are consistently nice to deal with though, bar staff and manager a credit to the company. Hope this pub reaches what it can be in the next few years so us living local don't have to venture to other parts of town for a nice evening in the pub

They fixed this place up real good, now I don't mind taking the kids down for after school lunch. Very nice staff also 👍

Reluctantly went to the Hatfield Tap today, world Cup final day!! We were so pleasantly surprised to what we were welcomed with. Lovely new clean environment with charming staff and a great selection of beers. We had a freshly made pizza which was super. Well done McMullens for giving the community a family pub again.

Warm , friendly welcome. Decent pint and a great atmosphere. Great food deals on different days. Chicken wings were awesome. Vit and Jae were so helpful.👍

To be honest we haven't eaten at this pub,just looks rough and seeing that it looks like houses are being built near it I hope this pub will get closed down. No where to park no where to fit this horrible pub just makes me sick walking past drunk people. They need to close it and make a bingo for old people

The staff are really friendly and helpful. I wanted dinner but they were in 'transition' and suggested I get a take away and bring it back to the pub. I did that and they have me cutlery too easy it with. I am sure that it will be a great place to be once everything is settled.

The atmosphere was ok, nice pub. The staff were a little bit too much.. for instance taking our details and talking about the effect of covid, when were were just trying to take my dad for a few drinks on fathers day... and talk about something other than covid. It did put a little dampener on the afternoon as soon as we arrived, but we ended up enjoying the rest of our time there.

A great local pub for the south Hatfield community. Being a McMullens pub it's not a camra Award winner for real ale but saying that the draught lagers and ales they do have are relatively kept well I'm told as I usually keep to the bottled Peroni. Atmosphere is welcoming for all and is especially good for football. There is a good eclectic mix of people who are engaging and friendly. Food is good from what I've been told.

Nice place. The staff try hard to attract more of Hatfield's students for example, poker tables, table tennis, etc. A bit pricey compared to other places in town but overall my favourite place in the town for a pint.

I was really pleasantly surprised at this pub. A colleague and I were looking for a pub that showed BT sport and found this place. There's a lot of space, and a fair few screens, though the quality certainly wasn't HD. It seemed to be a good mix of people - lots of students as well as those of other ages! The real surprise was the two-for-one meals. The food, while undoubtedly somewhat pre-prepared, was amazing value and was really good given that the whole meal (two platters and two large mains) was around £30. Not only that, but the service was top - the landlady, despite a busy bar, took the time to make sure that we were okay on a number of occasions and brought the condiments basket to the table in good time. It may not be haute cuisine, but it's brilliant value and a pub done right.
