A lovely pub overall with great service and atmosphere. However, I found food a tad on the average side. We had a chicken liver parfait as a starter. I found it too bitter and runny for my liking, thought presentation and apricot chutney were lovely. We also had steaks, which were good, but nothing extraordinarily. The pudding was a massive disappointment. It was a chocolate soufflé from the specials and it was highly praised. To be frank, I found it borderline disgusting. A watery texture in soufflé. Nope, a definite no.

I visited The Harrow with a friend. We were served a delicious meal and were very pleased with the customer service. I have ordered Free range chicken breast and chocolate and hazelnut soufflé. Absolutely fantastic. Well done everyone.

My friend and I had a lovely evening at the Harrow very relaxed, clean and cosy feeling restaurant. The staff and Manager were friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent and I was delighted to see REAL sparkling tea was served, excellent for the designated drivers! Will definitely recommend and return in the future.

Probably one of the best roast I’ve ever had! Beef was great quality and the cauliflower cheese was amazing! Staff was lovely and pub had a nice relaxed atmosphere. Would highly recommend a Sunday roast here :)

We visited for a Sunday roast and sat in the Garden Room. The service was excellent and it was a beautiful setting for a late summer lunch. The only thing lacking from our roast dinner was a nice gravy - it was a tad watery but we would happily return.

Came on Saturday for some food after the online bookings system had plenty of space. Walked in to a basically empty restaurant and asked for a table for 1. Originally ignored and then told that the restaurant was fully booked and no option to sit at the bar or on a table in the bar area. I showed that I was able to book a table online for 15 minutes later which was met with a smirk and then some comment about the system being broken. Extremely unwelcoming and poor attitude, not what’s expected at a local pub.

Wouldn’t recommend the Pizzas but all the other food is FABULOUS! Regular visitors

Fantastic.I recently spent a month in the area where I visited 7 different venues.The Harrow is superior to them all in every aspect.The Benchmark has been set.

The service here is INCREDIBLE. Special shout out to Hope who was brilliant. Food also divine, can highly recommend the onglet steak. Chef’s kiss! Honestly the best pub in the area for food and vibes. Feels like you’re on holiday. We did not take our children who would definitely not have appreciated it! Delightful for a date night. Will be returning!

The restaurant, bar and outside seating is all very nice and large, but the car park is far too small for the amount of people it can sit. And no side roads or streets to park in all private roads. We had the Camembert and bread to start, which was delicious we shared between 3 and had asked for the extra bread. When it got given to us there wasn’t any extra bread we had to ask 3 times before it arrived. Once it did another sourdough and pork spread platter had arrived we only ordered two so were confused. We ate it as extra , although we struggled wondering if they had just done it due to the delay for us. But at the end they had charged it to the table. All the starters were great the bread was delicious. The mains were all amazing as well. The burger had a good review from my partner. Our friends both had the two different cuts of steak and said it was very good. I had the pasta. It was okay but a little bland and needed a-lot more salt and pepper to help it. We had sticky toffee pudding for dessert, I would not recommend it was very dry and wasn’t rich enough I was expecting it to be more moist and more sauce. I have had a lot better in many other places before.

No friendly greeting. Waited 40 minutes between starter and main course. Fish and chips awfull, way too much hard batter covering up 3 mouthfuls fish, chips overdone crisp and hard, very overpriced Crispy duck so over cooked it shot of the plate when trying to pick up with fork. This was a weekday lunch, not busy, plenty of staff. Decor lovely, toilets clean. It was a shame the food was so bad as the surroundings were lovely. Staff could do with guidance on customer service.

Tried their relatively new Pizza Kitchen over the weekend. Service and set up were all very good, but the pizza not so I'm afraid. The bases on both our pizzas were vey good, but the tomato base source tasted to be mostly puree with the same consistency evident too. Toppings weren't;t so great either - 4 cheeses for me, all a bit 'samey', and served with a knife barely sharp enough to cut butter, never mind a pizza base. Needs a little work on the ingredients set up, and then I think they are onto a winner here given the lovely covered garden setting.

Lovely Sunday lunch . We both had the roast dinner with a side order of cauliflower cheese. Food good and portions big. A bit of a wait to take the order but all perfect after that.

Always good food. Service is usually very good. This was our first visit on a Sunday and things were a little slower but, presumably only because it was busy.

Our four lunch's were chicken , slow cooked breast of lamb , crispy duck salad and fish & chips. Sheila loved the chicken which was really tasty , Andy enjoyed his fish/chips mushy peas , Frances enjoyed the salad but found the amount rather a lot and not crispy and my breast of lamb was very tasty , just a little chewy on the outside of the rolled breast . Overall loved the conservatory and will probably try a pizza next visit . Thankyou , Rob

We’ve lived in Aylesbury for 7 years and have finally found a good restaurant/pub. The meal , service and ambiance were fantastic. We had a lovely time celebrating my wife's birthday. We’ll definitely be booking again. Thank you

Eleven of us fed and watered in fine style - A regular group lunch repeated every couple of months. We would not dream of going anywhere else.

the venue is spectacular. well kept and very inviting. staff are very friendly and well trained and nothing is too much effort. but in comparison, the food was divine. we will definitely come back.

We have been planning to visit this place while ago, and choose to come on my husband birthday.... We have book lodge area as we have our dog with us. We have ordered Sunday roast, with beef, something like organic local supposed to be good quality beef, it was looking and tasted nice, but little bit raw too much, so I shared most of it with my dog ... My husband had it all... On the end, both of us all night struggle with stomach cramps etc.... including our dog. This turned disaster. Unfortunately we had very bad experience...

As usual the whole experience at The Harrow was amazing. Staff are always super friendly and the food was unreal. Never disappoints.

We went for Sunday lunch and nearly 90 minutes after ordering our main it still hadn’t arrived. The first course took at least half an hour. Then an urge gap. The kitchen clearly made a mistake or were disorganised - but other people seemed to be getting their food. The manager gave us our drinks and pudding for free which was appreciated. But not minded to hurry back with plenty of other Sunday lunch alternatives nearby. Lovely place so it’s a great pity.

Large, friendly location with attentive staff. Lots of families in for a Sunday roast and although our starters arrived quite quickly our mains took a further hour. Great place with lots of covers but can be overwhelmed when busy judging by our experience

Grand rural gastro-pub. Independently owned Free House with real ale, fine wines and great food. Table for 4 we had a late Sunday lunch in the sunshine in the outdoor Lodge area. Excellent, cheerful professional service from Darcy kept things ticking along nicely. Well staffed pub, with consistent top class management is a rarity nowadays - so a real pleasure. Food was very good...portions a little large !

Booked for a Birthday meal and wasn't disappointed. The restaurant was quiet as it was midweek and football on but the staff were very attentive and it was still pleasant to be there. The menu choices were varied and the food we picked was delicious. We would definitely go again

Visited The Harrow for a girly lunch. We stayed 7 hours, that speaks volumes. I was told by my friends that I did a good job deciding where to go.

I think that it’s very over priced. You charge for the location. I’ve had better roasts for less cost. The burger is very over priced for what you get.

We had a fantastic experience here - the restaurant has been tastefully renovated and decorated, there is a good and varied selection of food on offer, which is presented beautifully and is delicious, the prices are super reasonable and the service was polite and friendly :-) I would highly recommend The Harrow!

Friendly staff and food was first class

My second meal here. The food was great and the service was attentive, despite it being very busy for fathers day. The staff were accommodating with requests to support my disabled son's needs. The roast dinners are really wonderful, and the Harrow beef burger is insanely good. We will be coming back again soon!

I cannot recommend the service at this restaurant enough. After telling them we had a vulnerable member in our party they went above and beyond to ensure we felt comfortable and were able to enjoy our meal without any concerns with risk. Very attentive but not too much. Totally put us at ease. Food wonderful, nothing too much trouble, only reason I didn't give food the 5 star is the flavours were a little too grown up for our 12 year old but she didn't want the children's menu. Our older daughter however absolutely loved the pizza. So we shall return, and I'm sure both girls will have pizza but more important than the food, we came away feeling genuine care from the manager, whom we have never previously met, for our situation and he went above and beyond, and that kind of hospitality is priceless.

The food and service were excellent, the decor and pub is lovely. The only problem we had was that the huge car park was full, then again it was a Saturday evening and the restaurant seemed fully booked.

Simply put: the best restaurant experience I've had in a long, long time; there were even some delicious vegetarian options to choose from, which made for a pleasant change. Service was very well paced, and the he bill wasn't unreasonable either! Looking forward to visiting again in the future.

Just a constructive criticism. My partner and I ordered fish and chips and roast dinner. In my opinion the very talented chef is trying too hard make it look good, rather than leave what I call a classic pub meal to exactly what it is. A good hearty meal!! In fact, we both mentioned that we felt we would of preferred our daughters pizza. That did exactly what it said on the tin. Just keep it simple. We have been coming to you for years now but feel that it’s becoming not to our taste. I can understand that you want to wow customers with some very out there dishes but I think if you want to cater for everyone, you should consider everyone.

The menu seemed very slimmed down, not a huge amount of choice. We were sat in the conservatory which was quite chilly, could have done with having the heaters on. Such a shame because we’ve been to The Harrow a number of times before but this visit sadly didn’t live up to expectations. The food we did have was very tasty though.

Great food and good value for money - really enjoyed our evening - waitress could have been more confident but nothing a little coaching couldn’t resolve - we will definitely be back - highly recommended

Been here a couple of times for Sunday roast First visit was fantastic, second visit nearly as good. The food is delicious and the staff are well presented and attentive. The decor and surrounding is very beautiful. A lovely place to go. On the higher end of cost for a Sunday roast but worth the treat occasionally.

Staff were friendly and made us feel welcome. Have been here before and was very pleased. This is a beautiful building throughout. However,on our recent visit I had lamb belly and must say it was virtually all fat with a tough outer layer so couldn’t eat it,the chef should not of even served this up. I am a retired butcher. I didn’t have the heart to complain as the waitresses were so lovely. My starter and wife’s food was very good.

Celebrating several birthdays and the birth of a new grandchild we had a great time. Evereyone enjoyed the food, drink and especially the great service. The staff are a credit to the pub and we shall definitely return. Which will be our 4th time in as many months. Therefore judge for yourselves, if we highly rate this place. Seeyou soon.

Excellent food - above what you’d expect for a local pub

Having happily left good reviews in the past, I can’t do so this time. My wife had a pretty poor experience recently at a midweek evening meal with friends and emailed you, rather than putting it as a public review, but hasn’t even had the courtesy of a reply. Our booking with you last Sunday was meant to be a happy, family meal celebrating a milestone birthday. In our party was a baby (who slept, thank God) as well as a toddler and a young child both of whom were clearly struggling to stay at the table during the very long wait for food. Delivering our food more quickly would have been a better solution than reprimanding us for having children running around outside! We arrived promptly for our table at 2.00, sat and waited 10 minutes before a drinks order was taken. Food orders were taken at about 2.30 and starters arrived about 20 minutes later. We then had at least an hour’s wait before main courses arrived. The six-year old with us had lost the will to eat by that point, so her meal went untouched. Our waiter had told us you were having ‘some problems’ in the kitchen, but when the food did reach us, it was average at best – it all had the look and taste of food that had been cooked earlier and kept warm for too long. Trying to get the attention of a waiter or waitress was really hard – they just seemed to look straight through us and whatever we did to try to attract someone’s attention didn’t work. I was at the point of phoning you from my table when my son walked to the serving station to get some attention. So, in summary, we ended up paying a lot of money for a pretty stressful experience without having any great food either. I’m not sure we’ll come back.

The most delicious food ever, both my other half and I order from the specials menu. I had mussels, he had wagu burger, which was outstanding. Very busy however the staff were very attentive, and showed no sign of fluster. One of the best evening we have had in a long time. Special thank you to the entire team at The Harrow Bishopstone. 🧡

The food has consistently been very nice! And because of this we have been coming more often.

I took my family to The Harrow as they came from USA and from Czech Republic for a dinner and it was quite disappointing I have to say. I chosen The Harrow because previously we were pretty happy there. But unfortunately on Wednesday it was a different experience. I regret not asking to not to pay the 10% service charge as I would definitely not tip nearly £20 for service and food that was not the best. Chunky chips that came with the fish and chips were so over done and therefore hard and oily, the fish was quite oily too. The starter soup was nice, the duck salad was okay too. The waiting between the starter and main was really long even though it didn't seem that overly busy there. And to top it off the waitress told my cousin who were visiting from overseas off for not having signature on her credit card. So slightly embarrassing as all want for my visiting family to have an enjoyable experience but it was the opposite. Sad to say - I will not be visiting The Harrow in the future.

I’ve been to the Harrow on a number of occasions. Every time it’s been a fantastic experience. The staff are well trained and friendly, nothing is too much trouble, and for me the best part is that they have no difficulty catering for my severe wheat intolerance. There are not many places around here that come close to them. I’m going back again soon!

My husband and I absolutely love it here, especially on a sunny day. We thought we’d try Out pizzas, however, we are quite disappointed! They were very basic and extremely expensive. Their roasts are amazing though! We should’ve stuck with these.

Need thicker bread sticks or better still bread with the Camembert.

We booked very last minute and were accommodated without any issue. Staff were lovely, especially the guy behind the bar. Food was more than great and the quality was excellent. Personally I’d have liked more depth to the mussel broth but that’s just me. It was still very good! My draught beer was perfectly kept and served properly. Interesting sparkling tea choice for the driver too. Our table was booked for 5.30pm (Sunday) and whilst we arrived at 5.10 ish, our guests didn’t arrive until 5.20 and we were told ( at 5.25pm) that we had to get our order for food in by 5.30pm…. Perhaps it would have been better to have known this at booking or as soon as we arrived, as we felt slightly pressured…… and we would have loved a cup of coffee after our meal but the machine had been turned off by the time we finished eating…... at 6.10 pm Bottom line is, we will definitely be returning because it’s a great place to go but maybe not on a Sunday.

The restaurant was very clean and staff were very welcoming. We sat in the conservatory which, despite the rain, was warm and bright. The food arrived in good time, giving enough space between courses to not feel rushed to eat, but service to order was a bit slow. The food was delicious and portion sizes were generous. However, the children's menu was quite limited, meaning my child ended up having to choose an option from the adults menu, which was too much food and alot more money. The drink were very over priced, £8.60 for a bottle of Peroni for example. Overall, we had a lovely meal, and the restaurant was pleasant, but we would only return again as a couple and not as a family.

Portions on the small side, we could of eat more. We had a long wait for our food to arrive and even our waitress was aware , and said she thought we'd be waiting ages.)Then we got charged for drinks we did not order ( was table next to us) the desert was nice. Luckily we checked the bill, we paid the service charge but felt it would of been a nice gestrue to have removed it considering the mistakes that were made. The team were friendly and the interior was very nice. We will come again and hopefully will have a better experience.
