Lovely pub but really disappointed by the female member of staff serving who blatantly ignored us waiting patiently at the bar and deliberately served others who clearly arrived after us. Poor attitude and the pub deserves better quality of staff than this. Walked out and went to Tin of Sardines down the road - proper and fair service....

Went for the real ales as per a magazine article we’d read. The real ale choices were disappointing, none local just 3 pale ales. On the plus side we were made welcome including the dog and had a perfectly pleasant visit. It was an afternoon and the pub was near empty

Lovely interior and exterior fitting the theme of the marina. Only four of us in the pub on a Saturday afternoon in comparison to the surrounding pubs which were very busy. Comfy atmosphere. Lager prices on par with other nearby venues. Only stayed for one.

The pub looks lovely inside, but the staff are rude and so are the other customers. Don’t go if you’re not a local because they will not make you feel welcome.

Nicely finished and presented pub!.. they had six different real ales on along with the usual 3 lagers and a couple of ciders, and to my amazement there was even one of my favourits on from a famous Staffordshire brewery! Staff were warm and helpful and the locals were friendly too!. I will most defiantly be using this pub again on my next visit up to sunderland!. Top marks!

Well I only stopped by in there a for a couple of cheeky ones, although the bar is nice and a decent atmosphere, the one down side was the attitude of one of the barmaids, she made it look as though she was going out of her way to serve you, bit moody to say the least.

I went to the Harbour View and found it a great bar with a good atmosphere > Lovely friendly staff and a great pint at a good price ( Carling £2.96). Compare this to my poor experience at Roker sea front at the over priced Poetic Licence ( Roker Hotel ) where you will be charged £3.40 for flat pint of Fosters by staff with no character. . Weve often been at the Harbour view and thank god for real pubs not turning into so called gasto pubs.

I found the bar itself was very cosy with a nice view of Sunderland's harbour. The drinks were reasonably priced and the bar was well stocked with a wide variety of drinks. I ate Sunday dinner in the restaurant section upstairs. The service was friendly and speedy, and the meal was delicious with large portions. My only complaint was the bar downstairs got a little busy on the evening but then again it is a very popular local pub.

The Harbour View is our local, it's one of the very few locals we have been to that allow well behaved dogs inside. For that reason we visit all the time as our dog goes everywhere with us and we usually drop in after a long walk along the beach as it's in the perfect location. They have a good choice of drinks, the lager, wine and beer are excellent quality and they have real ales, which is a bonus as that's my hubby's tipple. The Sunday lunch is fantastic value and if you are looking for a home-cooked meal, go no further. However, they do not accept card payments and the gents toilets are in desperate need of a refurb.

As the name suggests, The Harbour View pub is on the coast road of Sunderland but not the sea front. It has a lovely view of the harbour and the marina. I was there several times in May 2013, for Sunday Brunch. They serve a traditional "Sunday Dinner" between 11,00 to 16.00 or whenever the last patrons finish. Usually serving three meats, beef, pork, chicken or turkey. Lots of vegetables, mash potato, roast potatoes, huge Yorkshire Puddings and lashings of gravy and very nicely cooked. There is a seniors size meals and priced accordingly. The staff are very friendly and not just putting on an act, they really do care. It gets busy on Sundays because it is popular, but you can wait in the downstairs lounge/bar which is very comfortable. There is a good selection of ales, including Real Ale. It is a public house but kids are more than welcome accompanied by adults during the daytime.

Booked a Sunday lunch for my family as this pub was recommended and was a special occasion as had family staying. Phoned twice to book and confirm time. When we arrived staff told us that there was no booking and we would have to wait. Were given no explanation or apology and staff just tried to blame each other, quote from one staff member 'well don't blame me, I only work on a Sunday'. Eventually spoke to gemma the so called manager who said it was her who took the booking and she wrote it on a piece of paper that must have got lost! No offer to sort us a table or any drinks as a way of apology, she just didn't want to know. If that is customer service then it is terrible and our family will not be returning. Went to the queen Vic along the road, great food and excellent customer service. Would never recommend this pub to anyone.

When there as a family of four, Being before quite a few times without any problem, but this time me and my son had burgar, chips and extra slice of cheese and onion rings plus its says salard. Both burgars had no salard and were missing extra cheese. The burgars in the photo looked really nice, the ones we got we got were very thin and tasteless. The staff are great but very much doubt we will be back.

First visit here. Lovely ‘proper’ pub with lots of history. Greeted warmly upon arrival and drinks brought to our table. Got the steak and ale pie with veg and mash. Absolutely delicious and home cooked, no microwave meals here. Dessert was ginger pudding which was knockout. Staff were all lovely and we were made welcome. I told them we would be back and we will.
