The Harbour View in Fife

The “upstairs” restaurant was open for lunch. Comfortable, good views. Friendly staff. Comprehensive menu, a bit more than just pub food. Reasonable prices. Vegetarian and children’s menu items. Steak pie substantial with medley of vegetables. Beer garden be,ow for better weather. We would go again if passing.

We were a table of five for lunch and had a fantastic afternoon. As this was lunch, we were in the bar with the upstairs restaurant opening later for high teas and dinners, and the beautiful view was the first thing to greet us on arrival, followed immediately by the warm welcome from the staff member. A combination of local regulars and people finishing work early made for a good atmosphere. The lunch menu has the popular standards such as steak pie and fish and chips, but without exception, all of our starters, main courses and desserts were of an excellent standard. Fresh ingredients, a masterful light and crispy batter on fish, and lovely desserts were all a feature, accompanied by very attentive and friendly service from the two staff. It was a perfect afternoon, and very relaxing too, to look out over the beautiful Firth of Forth on a sunny afternoon, with people walking along the coastal path in both directions. Although we don’t live nearby, the Harbour View will now be a regular place for us.

So many things had been cancelled in Scotland for this evening, but the Harbour View still put on a fantastic show with country singer Greg Anderson singing his way through the bells. A fabulous buffet was supplied for all, and every dietary need catered for. Everyone singing and dancing until closing at 1am. Truly was a brilliant night had by all.

I went along with a friend and also my 2 kids. We ended up having lunch and it was really lovely. The menu had not long been updated, we had toasted sandwiches - but the icing on the cake had to be the 'school cake sundae' it was to die for!! Shout out to lovely Farren - a real asset to the Harbour View - will 100% be back!

The harbour view has a lovely atmoshphere, stunning food and reasonably priced too! very child friendly aswell with the kindest owners 🤍

This place is so homely, welcoming, and friendly. The host could not do enought for me and my family. The rooms are so clean , the restaurant is amazing with wonderful food and as for the staff , they are totally understanding to your needs as is the host. Shona as we learned her name is one amazing lady friendly, and very caring towards everyone she meets. Inside this place as well as outside is well organized for your every needs. I definitely will stay here again and will get more of my family and friends to visit the harbour view. I really want to go back again very soon I recommend this place to all that want a family orientated holiday.

Visited here today with my daughter for the first time! & were lucky to get the window table with the sea view! 😍 The food was absolutely delicious! I had the BEST fish and chips I’ve ever had and my daughter had the Macaroni Cheese! Also SO good! Great service from ALL the girls! Very reasonable and will DEFINATELY be back!

Upstairs is getting decorated so we had lunch in the bar downstairs. The food was delicious, Mac and cheese with chips and garlic bread for me and fresh fish and chips for my husband. Both absolutely delicious. You still get a gorgeous view from downstairs. Outside was busy with people sitting enjoying the sun and it’s also dog-friendly which is great. A real jewel on the Fife coast. Will be back soon.

Service was good - menu was limited - but at this time of year to be expected; dog friendly; food not best presented - glad I wasnt having the 3 bean chilli! Although oyr friend said it tasted good; there is no way the scampi come fresh from Aberdeen or anything to do with langoustines!!!!

An amazing Christmas lunch. Food was well presented, delicious and sourced locally. Staff were attentive and friendly. Dogs are also well looked after with water and treats. Would definitely visit again. Excuse the bite out of the baileys cheesecake, I couldn’t wait.

Loved the fish and chips, wonderful service. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. Shona is a wonderful host, we will definitely be retuning the next time we are in Scotland.

Short menu but everything was really good well cooked meat was tender and tasteful if that is a word. Staff were young but had a decent understanding of service and hygiene. So have been well trained. I was impressed.

Absolutely delightful! Shona has created a lovely environment with delicious meals, all while enjoying a stunning view of the sea. We ordered a sausage and egg roll, as well as a ham and cheese toastie. Both were super tasty. We can’t wait to visit again!

We arranged with Shona to host a joint 18th & 40th birthday party at the Harbour View. The upstairs is a perfect venue for us. From first contacting Shona then meeting her at the venue, everything went very smooth. The food choices are excellent and when the food was put out during the party we were all very surprised and absolutely everyone enjoyed the buffet. They even make their own cakes! I want to say everyone, from the bar staff to the chef worked hard and went above and beyond for us. Special thanks to: Grant for excellent food. Stumbled across this little gem not much to look at from the outside but lovely inside food was excellent and Lynsey was so friendly and helpful definitely be back

The staff were lovely but what I assume to be the boss was an absolute nutter, absolutely horrible to there staff, talking inappropriately to them as well, shouting at them as soon as we walked through the door, the food was pleasant but so expensive for what you get, I have so much sympathy for the staff that work there having to put up with a boss/manager like that

Only thing about it was the lovely view until that was disturbed which looked like the manager or the owner speaking abruptly to other staff members while serving people at a table. Food was basic for the price and there is hardly any vegetarian options. Place seem grubby and dirty looks so run down and closed on arrival, could do with a good clean up in and outside. Expectations of the place doesn’t look the same as on photos they post. Having I assume is the boss standing and talking to you for ages while you’re trying to eat your food. Been up and won’t be back!!!

Don’t go hungry, bought a steak baguette and side of chips for 2 with 2 wines basic and nice baguette but not a lot. Staff were lovely, very helpful, and of course the view is stunning across the forth.
