Nice chips, ok food and fine service

Disgusting place. I very politely called an order through on telephone, (I'm a new customer) the lady was abrupt and rushed, as I was giving one (very small) food amendment the phone was put down on me, called back to explain again, and again the lady was shouting something down the phone at me, then she put the phone down on me AGAIN, very rude, no respect for their customers or hold people skills clearly. I was that upset by the way I was treated, I called them back and said I was being very polite and the lady was rude to me and that I’d like to cancel the order, guess what… she put the phone down on me again! I was still speaking! I thought there’s no way anybody would do that so many times so I called back and said I’m sorry but I don’t know if you have a problem with your phone connection as I keep getting cut off, the lady shouted angrily at me “YOU DON’T WANT YOUR ORDER NOW OK!” And put the phone down on me (shock horror) So so rude and not how you should treat customers, I'm 36 and this is the first time a member of a workplace has spoken to me like that. I went to the Village fish & chip shop in Wallasey Village and was treated the absolute opposite and the lovely staff member had a very friendly and understating approach to my needs. And the food was amazing so I’ll be going there from now on!

Been eating from this chippy since I was little best chippy I've ever had.

not sure what to say, usually it is a good place to get your chips from but me and my friend asked for chips an gravy an when we had opened it the was no gravy but whilst we was eating the chips the was hair in them

Excellent chip shop. Been around for a long time and the quality has stayed the same. Salt 🧂 and pepper 🫑 dishes are the best around.

The chips are really good. Prices are good. They have a variety of dishes. The salt and pepper tofu was really good. 2 large portions of chips between 4 is more than enough, depending upon who you are, 2 medium would be enough for most The fish better was good as well. Gravy, very good.

They make some really nice food. The staff seemed ok. But when you call up they're seem to be in too much of a rush to get off the phone.

It's excellent and there chips are delicious I also recommend the chicken fried rice

Am not impressed with this fish and chip shop ,asked for no hard chips to be put in our orders last night and they still did put them in it ,chicken burger from their menu was just a burger bun no butter on and a frozen fillet of chicken no salad or dressing at all I would of expected for there to have been a little bit of salad and some dressing for the price of it .will not be recommending this place to anyone else as my partner put it was not worth the money we spent there at all

Not been here in around 2 years. The fish went to my cats whom also refused to eat it and the chips were not the best. Excellent portion size. Sorry, but I won't be going again. Staff were friendly enough.

Ordered special Curry and chips. Chips lovely, well salted. Special curry, not so special. Curry sauce very thin and tiny bit watery. The beef was sparce and very thin peices which looked very beat up. The onions had a very possibly off taste or defo funny taste. I'm guessing there was chicken in there but again very sparce also. Overall nothing exciting. The staff were very nice however and service was quick. I do not think I'll be returning

Chips a bit greasy and chicken breast abit over done.

Chips are now so thin they are bad.This chippy used to be amazing .The problem ( and I hardly order there now)is the food is so inconsistent. Chips are no longer chips as they were thick n chunky .Now they are thin and bitty .ribs taste nice but no meat hardly on them,They used to be lovely.chop suey roll is now very greasy ,was one of the best things.fish is scarce, used to be thick with thin crispy batter.now cod is thinly sliced.They make more profit for less quality. My opinion on greasy food now is do not travel to eat there.I used to even do that.just not worth it sorry.cook food in hot fat not greasy food.

Nice food could do with a delivery service

Gave my food order . Very clearly said portion of bamboo shoots in gravy . Rude woman said you must have rice ,i said ok fried rice ,they took ages to get it ready . Once home it was beef and bamboo . I rang them and said about wrong order and said no thanks for a replacement . Threw away grisly beef it looked vile . Threw away the chopped carrot they dumped in . Used just a tiny bit of what they call fried rice ,it was not good food served . Just means they lost a customer .

I had the crispy chilli beef again on Saturday, which filled a hole for £6 including either boiled rice or chips u can't go wrong. At me other house in Reading £6 don't even get u the beef dish

Skinny chips look as though they are hand cut so lots of short crunchy ones. Not what I was expecting from a "chippy", watch out McDonalds!

Food is great from here. Sometimes the service can be slow but that's due to the demand from phone orders and usually a busy shop itself which shows how well liked the food is.
