Would give 0 if I could. Absolutely atrocious meal with my family. 2 out of 3 meals were not edible, the steak was full of fat and extremely chewy and the chicken was impossible to cut with a STEAK knife and even more difficult to chew!! The 3rd meal was a lot later than the rest of the meals. As for the staff and the manager!! We had to wait 15 minutes for our order to be taken and when we asked the young girl of their would be a wait for the food she said “ well umm yeah” in a dismissive tone. Once we had finished our food , after not being checked on the whole meal and ignored when trying to get attention of staff we told the server about the issues we had and she simply replied with “well I asked at the start and there wasn’t no issue so I can’t do anything now because you have touched it” we then asked to speak to the manager and when the owner came he was unbelievable rude and obviously needs as much customer service training as his staff and doesn’t know how to treat customers in order for them to return! As we began the to speak he abruptly cut us of saying his food was “ okay” and his staff were “ perfect” , and that we’re were not getting our food for nothing as we ate a little bit of it. We were not making a complaint in order to get free food but to acknowledge the issues with the food so they could resolve them but did not expect to be met with such disgusting customer service from not only the staff but the owner of the establishment! I would not recommend this place to anyone due to the way we were treated. Absolutely awful , save you time and money and go elsewhere where you are guaranteed good customer service! We used to go all the time with the old owners and never had a complaint but since the new owner has taken over it has gone down hill and is a sinking ship, and unless he changes his staff and his attitude I cannot see them doing well because shouting at customers will not make them want to go back because I definitely know I will never set foot in there again it’s no wonder there were very few tables in on a Saturday night !!!

Live locally to this place and previously ate here every Sunday for many years with family. Visited a couple of months ago after repeated changes in management and it was just ok as we couldn't be bothered to cook...it was just dinner or tea mid week... nothing special. Thought we would try again this evening and it was appalling from start to finish. Quality of food was very poor and service was shocking. Staff with seriously bad attitudes and no clue about customer service....I will never waste my money in this place again...even for a drink. Aviod this place. If you want decent family pub grub stick to the Horton Arms just down the road. No wonder this place was empty, only three tables eating....says it all.We had a couple of garlic bread to start which was ok. We ordered burger, battered fish...as they don't offer any fresh fish on the menu, braised lambs liver from the specials board and childrens chicken nuggets with chips and beans. WOW is all I can say...we waited over 20min for the garlic bread to arrive and another 30 min after the starters had been cleared away for the mains to arrive. My husbands meal arrived in a baguette...which wasn't what was ordered so this was returned, 10 min later his meal arrived which I can only describe as a bowl of slop! Dried curly meat swimming in gray, steaming hot from the microwave served in a large pasta dish.......it looked disgusting! Wouldn't even feed it to my dog... My sons chicken nuggets arrived without the beans and didn't look appealing, he even mentioned that Asda nuggets tasted better....so god only knows how cheap these were to buy. Beans arrived another 10min later, so food was cold. I ordered battered fish which was fine, but you can't really go wrong with fish & chips and burger and chips.Nobody around to move the dirty plates on the table and drinks served to our children in the bottle without a glass......I could go on and on. But the best has to be the attitude we received when they eventually came to take our main meals away after waiting another 25min after finishing.... we were asked if everything was ok...so my husbands response was a polite "No not really" he mentioned how his meal looked and all we got was "Well I did ask earlier if everything was ok". Which is no way to speak to a paying customer! Clearly this women has no idea how to treat customers and is clearly in need of some customer service training and etiquette. We coudnt get out quick enough! To think we planned on staying for the night, which we very quickly decided against, and bribed the children to have a treat from the shop on the way home instead of ordering any desert. This has to be one of the worst experiences I've ever had in a pub and we've eaten in all the local pubs for many years. In summary- Staff lacking in customer service and argumentative with bad attitude, poor quality of food and service was appalling.Empty restaurant says one thing to me....and it was right! Like I said....avoid this place and don't waste your money. There are far nicer pubs in the area- Horton Arms being one of them along with Morning Star...I would even go so far as to say "The Summit" Pub is better than this place. It's such a shame as this place used to be fantastic. Unfortunately you would have to pay me to eat here again and I will make sure all my family & friends are aware.

While the pub itself is a little dated and could do with a bit of TLC, we could not fault the food or service at all. We visited on a Sunday (3 adults, 3 children) to eat. We did go early, 4pm, and were the only ones there but as soon as it got nearer to "tea time" it quickly started filling up. The pub side was busy already as the Man City match was on the tv's.Between us we ordered Scampi, Hunter's Chicken, Fish and chips, chicken burgers and a kids pizza, and not one of us didn't enjoy it. Each meal was hot, tasty and even the kids commented that they would like to go again. The only "flaw" was that a few of us ordered lemonade to drink and it was almost flat. I like my pop fizzy. All in all, we personally had a very enjoyable visit and did not experience any of the negative reviews seen on here. We certainly won't hesitate to eat there again.

We both throughly enjoyed the meal my wife commented on how tasty the beef was and plenty of it. My turkey was equally as tasty again plentiful. After much of a do if we could manage a pudding!!!!!! We both went for Sticky Toffee Pudding with custard what a way to finish off a meal and came away feeling very stuffed and a very reasonable bill.

Called in without booking on Sunday plenty of empty tables. Waitress was friendly - we ordered drinks which came quickly. Ordered 1 starter of garlic mushrooms, then 1 cheese and onion pie with chips & beans & 1 Turkey & 1 Beef Sunday lunch. Mushrooms were fine. Both dinners were cold & they’d run out of mash ??? we asked the waitress to heat them up, both came back very quickly & were at best luke warm. My stepsons pie was ok but again not hot. A different waitress asked if we wanted dessert we said we’d have a look - think she forgot about us - when she came back eventually she apologised & went for a menu we decided to try the chocolate gateau with HOT custard. Guess what the custard was (I wouldn’t say cold but definitely not hot) we finished our wine paid our bill & left. Such a shame as local to us & we would have eaten here regularly but we won’t be back.

Visited with family recently 4 adults 2 children, thought we would give it ago as it had changed hands and we live local and had noticed a lot of improvements going on in the pub. Food was good, menu isnt extensive. Waitress must be new she didn't really know much when you asked her she kept running back asking. Only down side for us was the wifi isnt strong enough in the eating area so keeping the kids entertained is hard, service was slow food took about 45 minutes to arrive and there was only one other table in who were already eating, drinks were ordered but never arrived, asked for more gravy for my meal after reminding the waitress by the time it had come i had finished my meal. Hoping these are just teething problems for the new owners. What i would really like to see in the pub outside area as there is masses of space is a kids play area, this would really attract the family's I think as the pub is in a residential area near a school so the area is full of families. This is definately an attraction that is missing.

Booked a meal here has not been for some time but heard it had changed hands. I ordered the seafood platter which was very nice, had a warm chicken salad again very nice but was disappointed with my dessert which was strawberries and cream which was £5.95 which when the dessert arrived was in a small dish and more cream than strawberries which I felt was expensive compared to the rest of our party and thr desserts. I ordered a coffee which was served in a mug which after a nic emeal I would prefer a cup of coffee. The people in ou party enjoyed their meal but little things like not having a steak knife when you are having steak, the restaurant is clean but quite sparse and it needs some pictures and things around the walls.

In the UK from Phoenix Arizona staying at my mum's house just over the hill from this place. When we passed a sign outside it said new chef, new menu, new staff so after a family wedding on the Saturday we decided to take mum there for food on the Sunday afternoon. Bad decision. We should have paid attention to the "new staff" part of the sign. To say the service was incompetent would be a compliment. We were a party of 6 and ordered the warm breads appetizer followed by 6 main courses. One main course required a change because my mum can't eat chips and ordered potatoes instead of the chunky chips. When the server took the order it appeared that the concept had been received and understood. It then took about 45 minutes to deliver the warm breads without the advertised extras and the main courses started to turn up about another 30 minutes later. Of course the one changed main course turned up with chunky chips which the server tried to pass off as roast potatoes when questioned and one main course didn't turn up at all but the staff were completely unaware of this until I went to enquire where it was so it arrived 20 minutes after the other main courses and it arrived with chunky chips identical to the "roast potatoes"!!! None of the issues were acknowledged and the final bill included every single item. There are many alternative pubs in this area and I would recommend The Turks Head or The Puckersley as just two much better alternatives. The food itself was ok so I guess if they can fix the staffing issues it might be ok but we will not be back.

The service was great, we were looked after and we only had to ask and the staff delivered. My husband had rag pudding with chips, peas and gravy (£8.95) I had cheese and onion pie, chips, beans and gravy (£8.95 + £1.50 for the gravy boat) and our friend had lasagne, garlic bread and salad (£8.95).

Had a mixed grill and have to say was probably the best I've ever eaten. The meat was fresh and cooked perfect. Really enjoyed it. Will definitely be back

The service was very good, we has the 2 course deal for £8.95, starters was very nice, prawn cocktail and garlic mushrooms, mains where disappointing, my cheese and onion pie was not a pie, put a dish with cheese, some onions but my main issue was it was full of new potatoes and tasted of that sweaty cheese, my wife's fish was ale battered so she was not happy either, then to top it all we had a dessert, only to find them alone cost £10, it's not the worse place in the world, but left there wishing we would of ate at home.

Excellent food, all home cooked. Home made chips to die for. Nice to see this pub back on the map . Couldn't fault anything.

Really enjoyed our meal here. It was our first time visiting this cafe, but I have to say it won’t be our last. I have absolutely no complaints. The staff were professional, efficient and friendly. The food and drinks were exceptional and the hygiene was excellent. The place had a lovely atmosphere and you felt welcomed and not rushed. The prices are reasonable for the quality of the food provided. And the menu provides something different to the other cafes in the village.

Went to the Muse for a work's party. The food was really good, and the service was quick, considering it was Mad Friday. I found the bathroom tiling to be a herringbone effect with 4mm black grout (7/10). It happened to be a Pride party, which was quite entertaining.
