Not been in for a while last time it was to play darts on log end board

Under new management its very cold and and no heating on even though bar staff have heater near them. tvs on mtv loud only us and one other person was in . Very dirty not been cleaned. Only bonus it's very bright inside Avoid

Easy to find, parking across the road and round the back for disabled. Good food.

Unfortunately gone downhill. Used to love it here. You'll notice the little things like wires for the TV hanging loose on the walls, a 'no ****heads policy' on the wall and the staff seem tired and belligerent. The food's no longer great either - the couple next to us waited a full hour to get the wrong order that was still frozen in the middle. Our meal, with just a bit more care, could have been nice, but was clearly just reheated. Beers still good though.

Not been in here for a very long time. Went in for a drink following a funeral, was made very welcome by staff, put on a nice buffet for us. Good selection of beers although a little pricey.

Rude owners ...toilets unclean...no food

First time there and it was great the food was good and the owners were very friendly and helpful and clean well done will be back

Fantastic newly renovated pub. Brilliant drink selection and a great outdoors space too. Good Guinness and spirit selection. Live Sky Sports.Definitely worth a visit.

Went to this pub on Sat the 10th June as it had reopened I was really looking forward to seeing the new refurbishment, was I disappointed it's quite dark but more then the interior was the staff, dont know if he was the land lord or just a manager but as we walked in we heard him using the f word like it was normal vocabularyand that continued , There was only 7 people in the pub and the bar staff ignored us and the landlord/manager then ordered pizza and chips and everyone behind the bar started having there supper.No one spoke to us or made us feel welcome would I go back definitely not .The owner went on Facebook saying he didn't want riff-raff in sorry think you might want to look at your management Sorry I had to write this but was so disappointed would have been better as a restaurant .

Thanks do much to the staff at King George for looking after my family after mum's funeral All restrictions abibded by and we all felt save and so well looked after. Other establishments take a leaf out of there book x

No Tartar sauce for fish and chips, hotpot nice but was more of a steak n veg pie more batter than fish

New managment. New menu so no chinese. Good service from the blonde hair lady didnt get her name. Made to feel welcome. Food good

Came here tonight with a friend he had fish and chips and I had Gammon chips and egg. Tge server asked how many eggs one of two and I replied one. When the meal came it was fresh home made Chips like when I was a child. Very good fried chips. The food was good.

The food was OK but could have done with being hotter. The pub unfortunately no longer sells real ale.

We arrived at half seven expecting a Chinese and English buffet but there wasn’t much food left so we decided not to eat here. Also there was only Chinese buffet.

Chinese buffet was delicious the pub was clean and staff were pleasant! Will be going again.

First time visited this place and have to say the food was lovely.Will definitely see you again soon.

No Guinness by midday!! Being the first customers in and on a Friday seemed a bit strange. Who runs out of beer at the beginning of the weekend? More than £6 for a pint and a half of larger. Perhaps that's what the pub is famous for.

Made a booking for a monday evening and although only 2 other diners there we had to wait for tables to be pushed together for our group. Veg had seen better days and chicken nuggets had spent far too long under heat lamps. Not enough desserts out so some of our party didnt have what they wanted. Ok but if you are going get there when they open carvery so food is fresh

Parking for the King George is ample, although you have to cross a main road to enter the premises from the car park.<br/>The price of the food is extremely good. (It was around £15 for two all-you-can-eat carvery meals and a drink each) we were told it was on 2 for 1, but still, £8.99 for a roast is reasonable <br/>The food itself is tasty but somewhat peculiar, they offer a traditional roast as well as Chinese. It's well presented and the servery areas are kept extremely clean.<br/>The desert selection is quite good aswell with Ice cream, chocolate fondue and various cakes (all-you-can-eat too)<br/>Overall, I can't fault the place, the staff were friendly and were happy to explain the protocol for their buffet (basically get the chef to carve your meat and fill your plate with everything else)<br/>Would highly recommend and I can't wait till my next meal here.

Went here on Saturday night after being out for my birthday. It’s close to where I live always friendly and a local pub. They have a good selection of beer and spirits and food has been good. Not tried the new menu yet though.

Visited the recently for daughters birthday meal . I chose the king George for location ( park at back ) and affordability, as we were a large group and had young children wish us. We were all impressed from start to finish. Service was excellent , all the staff were very helpful, attentive and very friendly . Some of the party arrived quite late but we weren’t made to feel rushed at all .We had the carvery and Chinese buffet 9.99 adults 6.99 children . Couldn’t fault the food , excellent value for money , real Yorkshire puds on carvery , tasty Chinese selection and delicious desserts . There were 17 of us and everyone enjoyed their meal, couldn’t fault it .Thanks again for a lovely evening .

Rang up to check about times etc. spoke to very helpful Lady named Tracy, told us all about carvery with a bit of chinese food + infinite desserts.Went to the pub n met Tracey who showed us the foods etc, and all the tables...music on was The Charlatans, and as I tap this review it's Morrisseys boy racer ! great music, lovely pub...but the restaraunt parts very nice.Food carvery, beautifully cooked butterball turkey, gammon (not for me) and a roast beef, huge yorkshire pudds. Chef didnt mind my request for 2.Great sides selection, loads of condiments etc. Good gravy, my only gripe...it was a little cold.Had no room for chinese food, my gf had a proper crispy chop suey roll which looked good.Inndividual cakes, as many as a greedy eye can see...then ice creams, lollys, choc fountain, sweets.Magic will be back again soon. they do a 2 for 1 in the week too.Thanks Tracey n chef.tim n liz, 28th jul 2019

Mr & Mrs Slater James and Joanne we had our wedding celebration here on the 28th June 2019 fantastic Day great staff that went out of there way to help and give us a wonderful day .The food excellent in the King George we wish you all the Best for more people too book for celebration here. As we travelling on a new journey to Scarborough. But we will visit when we come back to visit our family thank you so much blessings for the future .keep up the great work and you bringing revival back to a lovely pub in the area of Hollinwood .

No food serverd here any more good service but but poor managment

There has been a change in the menu recently and it’s a definite improvement. I always enjoy the food here. Good portion size just right. We had the sharing platter fajitas which was sizzling hot meat peppers onion in spices with hot wraps and salad and sauces. Lovely. You get two wraps each but they were big so one was enough for me. Ordered chips in case it wasn’t enough but didn’t need to. Took the second one home with me for supper. Very reasonably priced good food.

Loving & clean,food great. Service good. We love coming here. I ordered Roast Beef on a Baguette with Chips & Gravy,it was delicious It was quiet when we were in,but it's always a good crowd usually

Lovely food and staff very helpful

Have been before and was. Lovely, went again waited a hour for food. There was only. Me and my partner and a another group. Of three people waiting for. Food. Food wasn't that nice, Sunday dinner was cold. Can tell was all Frozen food. Staff were two young ladies who were nice but seemed catty when they were talking behind the bar about people.

Just called in for a snack while my car was being fixed at a nearby garage. Food was superb and very competitively priced. Highly recommended

I have eaten here many times and the food is always freshly cooked and good value and tasty. No complaints at all. They have got a new menu now which looks like even more choice. Superb pub food

Excellent, beers and great food

A group of us came for food on Friday evening. I rang and was told they stopped serving food at 7pm but when I said one of our group couldnt make it til 8pm they very kindly agreed to stay open to accomodate us. The food was served quickly once we ordered and it was lovely everyone enjoyed it. The service was friendly and I would recommend it to anyone. Thanks again 😊

Rating this pub no stars as earlier today 12/04/18 I walked in to order I pint of fosters. I was then asked for my ID from a young girl on the bar. So as anybody would I presented my ID to the barmaid. She then said “I’ll be back in a minute” after around 3 minutes she then returned to say “I can’t serve you as it isn’t you on the ID” with a smug look on her face. Very bad experience and I won’t be going back.

Lovely feel to the family pub with beer garden to overlook the park were you can keep an eye on the kids as they play. Out side screen to watch the match and lovely food as well. Karen the lady behind the bar makes everyone feel like a regular. Ample parking across from the location.

Outstanding beer was quality the guy that runs it was nice was quite a ps it had just opened up but I would deffo go bk in there

Just called for a spot of lunch and a beer cracking food and great value definitely go again staff great too

Stopped here for an early Lunch before heading off to the Rugby. you can eat in the restaurant or the Bar areas there are several rooms, with or without televisions. We had 1 x Sunday Lunch and 1 x Chilli with Rice + cheese + Tacos. The Roast Lunch was excellent , melt in the mouth Roast Beef with Yorkshire, Roast and Mash potatoes and 3 x Vegetables. Chilli was Good, not too hot.

Went in there on a Friday afternoon, well laid out clean friendly sort of place, polite and attentive staff. Good selection of food ,wine and beers. When you taste the quality of the food and the price you pay, I thought it was quite reasonable. In fact we stayed in there for a few hours and ended up having our tea as well. They take cards or there is a machine 5 mins walk away It`s basically a big open plan pub split 2 thirds pub, 1 third restaurant, but you can have your food in the pub part if you want Give it a go, you won`t be disappointed
