A really nice pub situated just at the end of the Rayleigh high street. The staff were all really friendly and there was a really good drinks selection with prices not being too bad at all. The night we visited was a pub quiz night so the place was pretty busy and the atmosphere was really good.

Amazing service provided and friendly staff

We popped in on Saturday night to get a feel for the place before we play here in March. The lounge was shut off as there was a private function but that was better for the band as it was a squeeze and people were into it. Great service, good selection of drinks and a great atmosphere for live music. Looking forward to our gig here. Update: We had two great gigs now, great friendly crowd that were really up for a good time. What a pub!

This place has in recent times had a renaissance with a much buzzier feel to the place, even in midweek. Friendly staff, great selection of beers and other drinks, a world away from the stuffy, smelly feel the place used to have.

Packed out on a Friday night. Good range of beers, decent singer on . All good.

So I'm standing at the bar and the barkeep comes over to me and says, "What can I get you, paisan?" so I says, "Pint o' Guinness, me ol' mucker. " So the barman poured my Guinness and gave it to me and I paid for it and that was that, really.

Great large pub on the highstreet with a few separate bars. Good service. Good atmosphere.

I love this public house. The staff are so friendly. The refurbishment has been very successful. I rarely go to pubs but if i do, this is my favourite. X

Wednesday karaoke awful. Turning volume up to maximum doesn't make you sound better.

What a wonderful environment to spend a few days as my brother and I did. The rooms very comfortable all your needs met. The food is incredible using local produce as much as possible. The pub is very welcoming as are the owners and those in the bar staff. I highly recommend the Half Moon,when there, take a walk around Picture Postcard village as well the church. Wish my stay were longer.we both hope we can return soon. Marian and John

Went on last night 4th March, there was a great band on and a good crowd. Very good Guinness too!

Have been popping in here from time to time for years. Locals are a great bunch, and it's a proper old man's pub ! Always good service, only reason it doesn't get a 5 star is because the toilets never seem to be clean regardless of the time of day I go in.

All good, laughably bad live music on 3/8/22. Hope they were playing for free.

First visit since introduction of Saturday Band Night, we had a great night. Whilst the pub hasn’t an ideal layout to suit viewing of live bands, lower level was packed full, but were able to obtain a table at the higher level. Great selection of beers at the low level bar ( Love Neck Oil) and my wife and friend surprisingly loved the pre mixed draught Passion Fruit Martini) good range of customers with a friendly atmosphere.

Proper old fashioned friendly pub, open plan, great atmosphere, good service and beer.

This is a good old fashioned pub, one side has been nicely decorated into a newer modern decor and is used primarily for food and the other remains in the classic decor you'd expect from a friendly local. I am yet to try the food but thoroughly enjoy Wednesday nights Karaok. Not to mention that the beer is generously priced.

Brilliant traditional pub. Excellent staff, good beer. Free pool on Mondays, live music Saturdays...quiz ...karaoke. Very limited parking but car parks very close by.

The new owners have done such a wonderful job of turning this local pub around. From the new decor and smiling staff to the theme nights and welcoming atmosphere, it's lovely to pop in for a couple and just relax. Can't wait to sit in the new garden in the summer and watch the world go by. Well done to everybody. :)

Very ordinary pub, needs refurbishment

This pub has recently changed hand so has a more of a modern pub experience. Still offers charm and a friendly local pub feel .

Nice friendly place, but they have gone o,t,t with the Christmas decorations. More like santa grotto for the kids.

This pub worked out OK for a quick drink with friends before going off to a restaurant across the road. The atmosphere was buzzing. There were lots of people of mixed age groups. I like my gin in nice gin glasses when I go out and they came up trumps and served our drinks in really lovely gin glasses so all was good that end! Staff were polite and friendly. Prices for drinks were average pub prices. Would definitely visit again going by my experience on Saturday 13th Nov 2021.

Not been in the Half Moon for about 3 years but pleasantly surprised with the refurb and the staff are very good.
