As a family of 5 we visited the restaurant we was sat in a private booth , the organisation of the all you can eat food due to covid was brilliant The food was delicious the staff was very friendly highly recommend

Stumbled across this restaurant when trying to find a place to eat. So happy that we did as The food was beautiful and the staff were all really nice. The system theybhave set up to order food at the table really works well. They have 2 choices for soup meat & vegetable . I chose the meat & it was quite possibly the tastiest soup I've ever had !

When in Blackpool and looking for something to eat this is the place to go. In these trying times it must be very hard for all the staff times having to adhere to strict covid guidelines. They do this and make it look easy so if you have any fears about dining out then the Ghurkha has all issues covered, The food is amazing , cooked fresh and is served to you by the professional staff( you can choose any dish and any quantity you like, the staff are very happy to help ) this has to be the best value for money for money buffet restaurant in Blackpool and I will go as far as to say Lancashire. It really is simply the best

only 2 night stay in Blackpool but found this place on google and pre booked for the 4 of us, first impressions were of a very nice very clean restaurant with well displayed covid floor markings. We were taken to our table and offered drinks and told how the all you can eat buffet worked, the choice of food was amazing all well cooked and presented, the chef served our food from behind a screen and offered advise when asked. having used many all you can eat type places i have to say this one is top of the list for me, pity i live in yorkshire so too far to visit often. premises, staff and food all outstanding and at under £70 for 4 people with drinks a bargain, well done guys

Mine and my partners absolute favourite restaurant and second to non in Blackpool!The staff are super friendly and attentive and always on the ball clearing to this I have never seen an empty plate stand for more than 1 minute. The food is always replenished quickly and is sooo fresh! I have always wanted to steal one of your amazing talented chefs...Keep doing what your doing we are big fans!

First time here chose to try out the Gurkha for something different had heard good reviews from a friend glad we did from the moment we walked in we were treated very well from the staff. Loads of different dishes to try from the buffet food is freshly topped up and very reasonable priced .The lamb curry is hot just be warned .Will definitely go again next time in Blackpool

Right, I’ll be straight up about this. Me and a friend went there yesterday for one pint, and there was no bar staff, so we couldn’t even get a pint, or even put a deposit down for a game of pool, nobody was even there it was literally just me and my friend in there, no staff. Do not recommend unless you want to feel forced to leave a pretty negative review.

Great buffet with loads of choice. As per previous reviews, there are screens over the food at the moment and staff behind the counters to serve you. They are not shy with the portions so make sure you are hungry when you go! Everything we ate was tasty, and the tables seemed quite well spaced out. The track and trace sign in sheet was in the entrance to the restaurant but staff didn't ask/remind us to fill it in so we almost missed it. Not sure how many other people would have missed it altogether.

We walked here from the seafront which takes 10-15 mins but it was well worth the trip. Fantastic buffet style food from authentic curries to nuggets and chips for kids. We booked well ahead due to Covid and we given a 2 hour slot which was fine. Everyone was temperature checked on the way in and wore masks on entry.Nice atmosphere with all ages and many families and large groups relatives enjoying a meal together. Charming staff.

Despite the Covid 19 outbreak the Ghurka has gone out of its way to Keep and make people feel safe, Temperature taken or arrival, lots of hand sanitiser around. Staff all wearing protective equipment. The self service buffet is now covered completely and you ask the staff behind to serve you, no problem at all. There is no way us visitors can affect the food. Staff are there to monitor queuing to see your distancing, but you are served quickly. They sanitise chairs and tables after people leave. All of this goes on a lot un noticed as its still my favourite all you can eat . I really did not feel that it affected my experience which is not the case for many places i have visited. Fantastic food as always it was just amazing as always. Up there with the best and good prices for drinks too. Then the bar is next door to have a drink before you go home at really good prices. So feel safe and enjoy your night out its well worth it, Just Make sure you book! 01253 344292

We decided at the last moment to go to the Gurkha Restuarant as we had eaten there on a previous visit to Blackpool so new the layout , due to it being a Saturday evening we phoned up to book , thankfully they wernt full and 20 mins later we were seated.Only when we arrived we realised due to covid 19 certain precautions were in place , that's when we first realised all the food is behind plastic screens , dont get me wrong its still done on a level were we felt safety was present whilst still maintaining the fact it was a buffet restuarant.We were seated and offered drinks and were told to go up and get your food when ready , so off we trotted to get food, thankfully there was a extremely helpful young lad on the other side of the counter with a plate and a serving spoon in hand asking us what we wanted, you simpley tell the lad what you want and he puts it on your plate.Now to some people that might think this is not be what we came in for seeing as its a help yourself buffet were you literally put on what you want, and at first I admit I was of that thought and I dont like this approach , but I'm hoping the owners read what I'm about to write, the lad who was serving from 9ish Saturday evening soon put me and hubs at ease , he asked what we wanted and simpley delivered , even asked if what he had placed on my plate was enough and wether I wanted more or less, was the perfect gentleman, when I came up for seconds and naughtily 3rds he asked me every time wether I needed another fork .As per usual the food was fantastic, especially the char sui pork.Sadly due to the fact id eaten to many main courses id left no room for sweet, they did look lovely though.Its weird to think how we had walked in 45mins earlier and judged what we saw as bad , we soon realised this was down to civid 19 and our safety and soon realised how wrong we were, the way they are looking after your safety combined with the fact the food is yummy made it all worthwhile, Till the next time Gurkha when we will be back, hopefully covid free but if its still there it wont bother us.

We booked a table using the Eat out to help out & even without the discount we'd have paid full price...Wonderful food, efficient staff & clean...Thank you. Would definitely go again.. Our only fault is parking...You may be lucky & get parked outside..

This restaurant has effective COVID-19 measures in place which is reassuring to see, the staff are very attentive and there is a huge variety of food. Whilst you cannot serve yourself at the moment, the staff will pleasantly do this for you and make sure you have plenty! The price is great value too. Definitely recommend!

Stayed at the Gurkha with two of my friends for a weekend away to Blackpool this weekend. Can’t fault it! Staff were all very lovely and friendly, food was delicious and the rooms were very comfortable and spacious. Brilliant location, just a short walk to the beach and main promenade. Great value for money and would definitely return in future!!

The staff were super freindly and attentive. Made to feel very welcome. Here for a mild stag do. The food in the restaurant was absolutely fantastic with loads of different dishes cooked superbly. Well worth a visit if your in Blackpool

Just had our first takeaway from one of our favourite restaurants, all we can say is that the food was excellent, arrived on time and was piping hot. Best takeaway of the lockdown, just wished we'd know earlier that you were open. Best wishes to all the team there, we look forward to your reopening but will definitely be using the takeaway service in the meantime and would highly recommend it. Billy and Tina.

Just had the most amazing lamb tikka masala (not a chicken lover) with a naan one of best I’ve ever tasted Nothing is out of their way they look after you as if your family marks out of 10- I give 11

As a local this is my favourite restaurant by far and try to go as often as the wife allows. Never had a bad meal, the quality of food is excellent. The staff are courteous and always willing to accommodate. Great value for money. Cannot comment on the Pub or Hotel side of the business as never used the services.Keep up the good work Gurkha!

Tables n chairs clean, even though we ate later on. The food was lovely, well prepared well kept, and tasted delicious. The staff was so helpful and dedicated would definitely recommend.

Been here several times over the years, good in the early years but had a few not so good experiences since then. First time back in a long time and what a difference. Gorgeous food, much better layout, probably the best meal out for me in a long time.

Staff was very helpful with our booking. Everyone had a great time. Great choice of food and everything is extremely delicious. Yes, the Gurkha lamb special is very hot but very good!

First visit and blown away. The food is excellent, the service is also. The proprietor was in the restaurant greeting everyone. And as an ex member of the Gurkhas the discipline and service showed. Thank you for an excellent evening and from an ex forces member myself thank you for your service!

Excellent all round experience. Friendly and helpful staff, brilliant and extensive choice of meals all of which were tasty and piping hot. Far from the ‘usual’ buffet style of food, the selection here is hearty and wholesome rather than masses of sauce with a hint of meat or veg. Clean and pleasant in all respects and very consistent - our little group have become regulars and the standards are consistent. Great informal dining with the nicest staff you could ask for. Highly recommend a visit.

Hadn't been to the Ghurka for years so was hoping it was still as good.Took the kids with us last night and we were not disappointed.The range of food is great, my favourite has to be the hot lamb curry.The food is hot, kept well topped up and the service area is constantly being cleaned and monitored.The staff are attentive and used plates are not on the table for long, excellent.No complaints at all, kids all full of jelly and ice cream.We will be back.

We try to go once a week. Although some weeks we go twice. Lovely food lovely staff. Plenty of choice. The ice cream is beautiful. Just think there is 1 thing missing. Werm Bbq sauce like wot the ribs are in.

The food was fresh and well stocked. Staff were great. Cost was good for the quality of food and service provided. I will definitely go again.

Food excellent, wide selection of high quality food, staff outstanding and restaurant spotless. Drinks v reasonably priced. Couldn't fault anything and will definitely make the 60+ mile round trip again. Highly impressed! And the lamb curry is indeed rather hot, but very, very good!

We went here for dinner following a friends recommendation and we were not disappointed.

Food was amazing and fresh, which is nice to see at a buffet. I asked the waiter for another beer, and no word of a lie it was in my hand 45seconds later. The staff all run round doing their best for the customer. Great desert choices. If I had one gripe, I'd prefer a larger choice of nepalese food other than Chinese, but thats just personal preference. Thank you!

Absolutely superb... The food was delicious, the staff attentive and welcoming and the restaurant and toilets were spotless! Highly recommended to everyone. Our party ranged from 6 to 97 years old and all were be back in an instant!

We had our Christmas day meal here this year and for our first experience eating out on Christmas day it was 10 out of 10. Friendly happy staff, Santa for the kids, a dj playing great music and of course a huge variety of good including turkey, beef and pork with all the trimmings. I would highly recommend the gurkha, they really made this day special.

Food was very salty, dry and had hardly any flavour what so ever, could only manage 2 mediocre plates of food. Best thing about it was walking out of the door.

Friendly staff, warm & comfortable, clean environment. Food is amazing a massive choice of well presented, well cooked dishes. Salt & pepper prawns are fantastic as was everything else. If you can eat lots of food than this is the place to go! However if you can’t still go because the food is so good.

South Shore 10 minute stroll to the seafront and another 5 minutes to the Pleasure Beach. The hotel rooms a very clean. The restaurant food is a buffet with Chinese, Indian, Thai and Nepalese and reasonably priced.... It has a separate bar for for live sports TV. All you need under one roof.

Great find as I have son with special needs who loves the buffet style of eating. We came to Blackpool for the weekend with his aunties. Did the usual and found this place on TripAdvisor. Great find. Staff friendly, food fab, great value for money. Would defo go again.

Fabulous selection of food. The pad thai and the massaman curry were excellent - in fact it all was.

Friday evening in Blackpool, its usually Curry night for us, but I wanted Chinese and my wife wanted Indian. Marriage is all about compromise, so TripAdvisor suggested a Chinese, Indian, Nepalese, Thai, all you can eat buffet and I'm glad they did. The food here is superb. The restaurant is quite small and personal so the trays of food are proportionate, regularly topped up and as a result piping hot. All the dishes we tried were stunning, and yes, the lamb curry is quite hot I'm pleased to say! Negatives, not many, there isn't a fresh grill but the quality of the food makes one unnecessary. Highly recommended. Will be our goto restaurant in future when we head for Blackpool. I always say when in doubt head for Wetherspoons and order a mixed grill. Not anymore. Take five minutes before you leave to have a look round at the Ghurka memorabilia, belonging, I assume, to the owner, a nice collection on display including some beautiful Khukris.

This was our second visit to the restaurant and once again we had a fantastic meal. Definitely give this place a go you won't be disappointed

Always come here very time I come to Blackpool. Small buffet style restaurant attached to a pub & also has a few guest rooms. Run by ex- Gurkhas and their food is amazing. Choice of Burmese, Thai & Chinese. Really good value for money & very well cooked. The flavours are fabulous. It’s a serve yourself & eat as much as you want & you can go back & get a bit more as many times as you like. There’s some really good, genuine Gurkha memorabilia displayed around the restaurant which makes an interesting read. Very clean & well kept. Pleasant staff. Personally I love this place & would recommend anyone to pay a visit. For any of you greedy people out there, if you pile food on your plate but then leave it... they will charge you - but I think that’s fair enough. Super place!

We arrived without a booking but the guy was very helpful and found us a table. The food is eat all you want buffet. Indian and Chinese. Food was tasty and fresh. Tea and coffee included in the price. Nice meal in interesting venue.

We visited on a Tuesday night and was surprised how busy it was. The woman server asked if we had booked, but we hadn't. Even though the restaurant was busy she managed to fit us in. ( would recommend booking before going ) The food was absolutely delicious THAI, Indian. Nepalese, to name a few and was cooked fresh. there is everything you want in a buffet restaurant and more. The price was unbelievable good value to, it came to £30 for two people with 2 pints of Lager. In any other buffet restaurant you could add another £10-£12 on top of that. A massive well done guys we will be back.

Really enjoyed our buffet at The Gurkha. The food was fresh, hot and delicious, beer was reasonably priced. The restaurant was immaculately clean. We hope to visit again on our next trip to Blackpool.

Took my mum in a Wheelchair ,staff were most helpful, the choice is brilliant and you can eat all you want no time limit.

The food here really was tasty and well cooked. Meat was tender - but not mushy. Great selection. Would return.

Having moved to Blackpool last year to buy a B&B;, we now come to The Gurkha at least once a week. Staff always greet us warmly and are chatty and friendly. There is a great variety of starters, mains, sides, and desserts. Warning: when they say the noodles are hot, they mean it! lol. Food is freshly cooked and topped up regularly. Thankyou to the owners and staff :)

We had not eaten at the Gurkha for a while but decided to go on the spur of the moment, mid-week, and we were delighted that we did. The service, food, wine, and atmosphere were all great. To say it was mid-week, the buffet was fairly busy and everyone seemed to be having a great evening. The choice and quality of the food was very good but my favourite section is still the Nepalese; the lamb curry is so tasty if you are a fan of spicy food! The house red wine is very agreeable and all in all we had a great dining experience; we'd highly recommend.

I can't praise the Gurkha Restaurant enough. From our pre meal drink in the bar and throughout our meal the staff were attentive, efficient and friendly. The whole place was spotless and the food itself was all excellent, normally I find buffets bland and quality over quantity. This was the exact opposite everything was hot, well cooked, fresh and well labelled. Next time we're in Blackpool the Gurkha will be our first port of call. Thank you for a brilliant evening.

We love this restaurant and have made it a regular night out when in Blackpool. The food is fresh & very tasty & the service is great.

We arrived and were shown to a table immediately, got a drink and explained what we had to do. there was a great choice of food, chinese, indian and thai all you can eat. including salad buffet and desserts. we went on a thursday and it was only £11.50. great value for money and great service.

We have been going to the Gurkha every time we visit Blackpool as it was our favourite place to eat as I like Chinese and my husband likes Indian so was ideal and best of both worlds.

Wonderful choice of food, eat as much as you want. All the choices were on hot plates. Good atmosphere and easy parking at the door. Restaurant opens at 5-30.

Very Average oriental buffet, limited selection.

I’m not a fan of a buffet restaurants, however the food was ok, it kept being refreshed and there was a good choice. So all in all not bad.

First time here but loved it,excellent service,great variety of foods,reasonable price,staff very good and excess plates cleared quickly from table,would definately go again.

Dont waste your money it's the worst restaurant I've been to the chicken is like small bits of rubber the food has no taste to it and cold try somewhere else where food will be hot

went to the Gurkha restaurant on Saturday the 20th of May 2019 as a party of 7.the food was immaculately cooked and presented in a super roomy atmosphere.the staff were very pleasant all through the meal,asking us if things were to our satisfaction.plates were quickly taken away so you could go and try different meals from different cuisines of asian foods.we would return there for more meals on future visits to Blackpool as the place was spotless the food was fantastic and the prices were very very reasonable.7 pints for under £18.00 and £84.00 for 7 top meals.i would highly recommend this restaurant if you are ever in Blackpool.you may need a taxi to get to it but it is well worth it when you get there.

I’m in Blackpool a few times a new and I’ve only just found out about this buffet. The food the staff and the restaurant itself is excellent. I found the service very good and all the food was hot and tasted very authentic. The price was very good for the standard of food and it was presented very well. A lot of effort has gone into the place and I will be returning very soon. Give it a go I think you won’t be disappointed. Good job all round they should be proud of themselves.

This is a restaurant where you get what you pay for! An excellent selection of help yourself dishes, Chinese, Indian & Thai, pleasant attentive staff and clean premises with character, as you'd expect from the name.

Wasnt sure what to expect and if truthful, wasn't really expecting much BUT...what a very pleasant evening. The food was varied, piping hot, replenished quickly, drinks not pricey and excellent value for money. Will definitely be returning. The actual restaurant was bright and cheerful, clean and relaxing. The staff were polite and removed all dirty used plates frequently.Although there's also a bar, we didn't go in there. There was plenty of choice even for vegetarians too....but dare you to try the Ghurkha lamb curry!!! Oh, and desserts plus coffee too.....just dont come if you're not hungry!!

My husband and I visited the Gurkha Restaurant on Friday night following a friend's recommendation. We were greeted warmly and shown straight to a table. The restaurant has many beautiful paintings and prints of Nepal on the walls and various items relating to the Gurkha military history which are very interesting.

I’ve been coming here occasionally for more than 10 years last time about 3 years ago - brill.

The food was superb at the Gurkha restaurant, they have a nice variety of foods catering towards vegetarians as well. The service in the restaurant was something I haven’t seen in a long time (in other places), just amazing! When back in Blackpool, will definitely be back in the Gurkha as well!

I did not like this place at all, dishes were not authentic at all. Food was cold, lacking in flavour and food put out like feeding troughs, which is appropriate for the people eating in there, it was worse than watching animals eating.

Just introduced my son and family to the delights of the Gurkha. It's always an enjoyable visit and there appeared to be some new dishes on, which is always a treat.

Myself and my wife called in the place so very clean inside the food is piping hot and plentiful. Service is Very Good price was Very reasonable indeed. Will definitely recommend this place and will definitely go again thanks

Family of 14. What a wonderful meal. Indian and Chinese cuisine mainly. Did chips and chicken nuggets what the children like. They did an assortment of cakes jelly fresh fruit tinned fruit Mr whippy and tea and coffee. A good selection of drinks wines beers cider lager cocktails soft drinks. Staff very friendly and helpful and nice decor & clean restaurant Definitely go again

Recently visited Blackpool when most of the city seemed closed. Visited this restaurant which was one of the few places open. The food is buffet style eat as much as you want.

Whilst enjoying another meal in the Restraunt I noticed a lady looking strangely at everything, reading the labels. I asked if I could help, so I went on to showing her all the vegetarian and vegan options. She and her friend thanked me so much.

We where staying nearby for a couple of nights so decided to ring and book a table

This place is a hidden gem. We are visiting friends in Blackpool and live in Australia where there are many Buffet style restaurants, but none as good as this. The selection is vast for a small venue and everything was beautifully prepared and presented and deliciously fresh. Often at buffets they scrimp on the meat but not here, there was Nepalese pork, Chinese style pork, ribs, delicious salt and pepper prawns, it was fabulous. Make sure try the Nepalese dishes, I have visited Nepal several times and I can assure you these dishes are 100% authentic, the flavours are unique you will love them.

Don’t usually do buffet restaurants but I am glad we did. The food was lovely. My husband really like the Nepalese curry’s. Warning very hot curry is very hot. The only disappointment was they had run out of dumplings and some of the pad Thai and didn’t want to wait but it was fine as lots more to choose from just feel could replenish a little quicker

Buffet style Chinese, Indian, Thai and Nepalese menu. All food really hot and reasonable quality. Loads of choice and some nuggets etc for kids. A little bit too samey in flavours for me and I thought the plates were being taken away a bit too rapidly. Good value for money if you like all you can eat buffets.

Very disappointed with the food! Everything was extremely salty! And all the meats were poor quality. We were in and out in less than 30 minutes! On the plus side it was clean and staff were good! Will not return.

My daughter & I were recommended the Gurkha by the owners of the b&b; we stayed in. The restaurant is light and airy and atmosphere is good. The selection of food is great with a range of dishes to suit everyone from indian starters like samosas through duck pancakes to chinese sweet & sour and finally soft whippy ice cream. Great value for money and good service as well.

Stayed over last night.Very clean. Comfy bed and the room was nice and warm on arrival.Breakfast was excellent.Everyone very friendly and made you feel welcome.Will definitley be returning.

Went here last night with the kids and everyone thought it was fantastic,the food was delicious,hot,no greesy or dried up rubber,if I'm in Blackpool again this is definitely on my list to visit again
