Ocean Palace in Blackpool

I was impressed by this restaurant when I walked in, I ordered and waited for my starter and waited, eventually it came despite apologies from a waiter about my wait, it was delicious. Mains was a Pork dish on noodles and to be honest I've had a better similar ready meal from Waitrose, the Pork was very chewy, not nice at all, I left half of it.

Lovely food,service but realy needs a lazy sue on tables we we was a party of 6 we orded a banquet a, we struggled very much trying to get to the dishes on tables really needs to rectify this to get a full 5 star

Biggest rip off in Blackpool if not the UK. Double the price of other Chinese takeaways and to add insult to injury the food was rubbish. Chicken fried rice was oily and the rice was over cooked and mushy so inedible to eat. AVOID at all costs, How they get happy customers here is a complete mystery!

Most expensive Chinese we have ever been to. The prices on the menu was so small you could hardly see them Definitely not worth the money we paid Also got the smallest bottle of water for £5 What a joke

Fantastic ,very accommodating, amazing food

Visited as a party of 3 during our stay. The place is nice enough when you enter although there was a bit of a debate as to whether we could eat as we didn't have a booking even though the place was pretty much empty. Anyway, we were seated eventually and ordered 3 different meals. Well - I went for the fillet steak which wasn't cheap and when it came out I thought it was a different dish. Was meat sliced up on a sizzling platter with vegetables but it absolutely wasn't fillet steak ! No idea what they served me but it was fat, chewy and horrible. A big disappointment and really spoiled the experience. On a plus side the prawn toast was described as very good by my dining partners but really nothing special here and personally feel really not worth the money. Won't be back when next in Blackpool.

I dont usually write reviews but I cannot believe the price we paid for 2 takeaway meals here that were absolutely nothing special. We had satay chicken skewers and vegetable spring roll starters, mains were chicken chow mein and chicken fried rice. Also got 1 salt and pepper chips and 1 curry sauce. 1 Diet Coke, 2 appletisers and one Chinese beer and it was £73.50!!!!😡 I visit London often and wouldn’t even pay that there. The food wasn’t very nice either, chicken was a weird texture and definitely not nice chicken breast and the spring rolls tasted off, very vinegary - so much so I couldn’t eat them. Can’t believe you have the cheek to charge those prices to use what tasted like the cheapest ingredients. Really wish we had asked the price before we picked it up and gone back and complained but it was late on a Sunday and we were going home the next day and just couldn’t be bothered. Certainly won’t be back though. I’m sorry but I don’t recommend this place at all. They are completely ripping people off and not even giving you a nice meal. £11 for chicken satay skewer starter?? Come on - you are in the centre of Blackpool - price your food accordingly. There are plenty of other options for a nice meal and you can definitely find nicer food for cheaper than that! There is an all you can eat buffet up the road for £20 per person with all different food from around the world - much better use of your money. I am also very suspicious about all these 5* reviews that don’t sound very well written! Read between the lines

I have been here on a number of occasions over the past few years, I have yet to have either a bad meal or service. To enter the premises and never be met with an ummmm or ahhh regardless of the time or how busy they always know if / when you can get a table. The drinks list is varied to suit all and the food menus can cater to most. I cannot recommend this place enough should you be in Blackpool. Many thanks team Haydn from Canterbury

Ordered a take away food sweet and sour chicken and vermicelli noodles. The noodles is spicy which is not supposed to be and it smelled like indian food instead of chinese. The sweet and sour chicken is nothing special. For the price it too much. I regret buying the noodles because we didn’t eat it at all. Shame

The food was exceptional and the service was amazing. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a very special night. I was recommended by my friends to order the prawn toasts and they exceeded my expectations, the curry was also the best I’ve ever had in any Chinese restaurant, I will definitely be coming back soon!

Firstly all I’m going to say is this place for Chinese is no even normal!!!! The food is honestly out within reach of a star level! I’ve eaten in possibly more take-away and sit ins up in Scotland and this place would honestly take over the full of Scotland in 1 restaurant! We entered and we were served within under 5 minutes for drinks, ordered 2 drinks looked at the menu and ordered to share, Chicken curry Salt and chilli chicken Friend rice Chips Honestly no joke the best Chinese I’ve ever had in my life I knew looked right through my girlfriends eyes she was in heaven! The food was honestly un-word able! I’ve never had a Chinese so good!!! We were talking to each other and If I had this on my door step I’d be here 2-3 times a week!! Every time from now a visit Blackpool I wouldn’t ever come here and not come back to this place!! 3 words: Unreal Unreal && Unreal!!

I went to this restaurant last Sunday and as soon as we walked thro the door the staff was super friendly and the food was OUTSTANDINGLY AMAZING just wow

Awful place, used cheap nasty re-washed chicken and not breast or decent cuts. Unhappy on how he treats staff likes slaves. Very cheap and unprofessional. Little thin shrimpy man and petty and doec not like being confronted with Truth. Expensive for what it was and very limited choices.

Chicken curry was the worst I've ever had was more like s bowl of soup,no curry taste a nd to have peas in it was a put off and the chicken was awful misshaped and tasteless...well just chewy rubber!

We have been coming to Ocean Palace for 20 years, it is always our go to place when we are visiting Blackpool, the staff are so friendly and welcoming, the food is of a high standard, we have tried many things off the menu, never been disappointed, we always finish off with banana fritters oh my they are absolutely delicious.😋

Having read the reviews I was quite excited about eating here!! For starter I had BBQ Ribs! Bad choice!! Completely overcooked, meat hard.really not good!! Sent it back and man appeared who I'm assuming was the Manager who told me i had been trying to eat bone!! I work in hospitality and he was clearly trying to browbeat me!  He was very assertive and tried to make it appear I was the one at fault here. We agreed that I would have Prawn Toast as a replacement and what a difference!  Really nicely cooked with a tasty sauce!! Then on to my Sweet and Sour Prawns with Egg Fried rice. Not bad but not brilliant! So a satisfactory meal in all. Just over £35 which is a bit bold considering the average quality. Owner clearly has an attitude problem which spoilt my enjoyment from the start. This establishment is in no way worthy of a 4.6 rating. Probably 3 would be fair. Maybe the folk of Blackpool aren't very fussy!! Wish I'd settled for a Kebab!!

Up from London for a couple of days and had a lovely dinner this evening at the Ocean Palace - had to leave a review as we were struggling to find somewhere decent to eat when we came across the good reviews for here and we have to say they are 100% backed! Amazing good quality food, very clean, service was brilliant all servers efficient and friendly, very reasonably priced. Thank you for such a great meal! The shredded chilli beef was the best! 🫶🏻

Was our third visit over the past few years. Ordered Crispy Duck starter which was lovely. For mains, a friend recommended the King Prawn Snowflake, which I had along with a side dish of noodles with beansprouts. I have to say, that was the most tasty dishes I have ever had in a Chinese Restaurant. The only thing to point out was the floor towards and in the toilets was very slippy. Anyone with walking sticks needs to take particular care!

Had our fourth meal here over a period of three or four years. It was just as good and it’s probably my favourite Chinese ever. So good. The best option I think is Banquet A which is £30 a head. Not cheap, but it’s all delicious (especially the duck) and will fill you up. Good service and surroundings too.

We had been told the Prawn Toast was amazing. So we went for a meal and the Prawn Toast was ordered with Seaweed and Chicken Satay. And it was just an amazing £11 but well worth it. The whole night from start to finish was great. Sizzling Beef and mixed Chow mein . With a pint of Chinese beer and a bottle of Red the bill was £ 100 well worth every penny. We'd booked a table for 7pm on a Friday night. Only a handful of people dining as we walked in. Lovely warm welcome. Spacious dining rooms. Spotlessly clean. Great menu, something for everyone. The food was amazing! Restaurant almost full within the next hour. We had the best night. Special mention to the young man who served our table - professional, discreet, excellent service. Thankyou. Highly recommended.

Atmosphere was a bit dull, food was really good , service was ok. Bit pricey but would probably return in the future for another experience.

First visit to the restaurant but will definitely return. Food was of a very high standard with prices in line with this. Sweet and sour chicken was delicious as was the Singapore noodles. Spicy hot and sour soup was delicious. Only negative was we found the menu very difficult to read as it was dark print on a dark background… very unusual.

Good food and service, good price on all items

Looked for a Chinese for Saturday night found this wee gem. Food was perfect starters of soup outstanding. The sizzling Cantonese steak wS to die for as was the special curry. A definite 1st choice on future visits.

My partner and i had a meal here on the 29th December 2023, and i can honestly say that it was one of the best Chinese meals that i have ever had. We both had the mixed starter that was superb, and the prawn toast is the best that i have EVER had. My Szechuan chicken was superb and my partner loved her chilli chicken, it was very nice too. We both thoroughly recommend Ocean palace for anybody staying in the area.

Superb meal. The ribs are an excellent starter. Thoroughly enjoyed the sizzling steak cantonese. Partner enjoyed sizzling prawns. Both wine and food reasonably priced.

I had a very bad experience in the place ordered sizzling beef and when a very young no experience person brought it to me he put it down on table so hard it went all over my white jumper he needs more training to do the job right the lady tried to help me to wipe it off my white jumper but it ruined my evening out they gave me a free bottle of wine which i asked for thats at least they could off done won't be going in there again I'm affraid

Walked in off the streat after reading reviews on Google. Table available with no wait. Food served very quickly and it was very tasty. Just visiting Blackpool, but I would go back here next time I'm in town.

I rarely eat Chinese food but I did really enjoy my meal here. I was treated for my birthday and found it a very relaxing atmosphere and the staff asked if I needed more time between courses, so I never felt rushed.

This was not our first visit to this restaurant. The place was not very busy which is usually a bit off-putting but perhaps that was due to the time of day, so a little bit lacking in atmosphere. Service is very friendly and our meals were served very promptly and were delicious. I highly recommend the salt and chilli chips as a side dish. A very enjoyable experience. Recommended.

We visited this restaurant last night and i have to say as a we are massive Chinese Food fans this restaurant is definitely in the top 3 we have visited. We arrived around 7pm and although we hadn’t booked they were able to accommodate us. The Menu isn’t like most Chinese restaurants with big long lists of dishes. There was certainly more than enough choice and because of the selected dishes this means the food is cooked with care and perfection. We opted for the Hors d’oeuvre as a starter as we like to share and pick away. Large Spring rolls that were cooked to perfection. You could tell they had been cooked fresh and were packed with filling. Prawn Toast like we’ve never seen before. They were massive. Again so fresh and tasty. Spare Ribs to die for. The meat (and there was plenty on them) just fell of the bone and the sauce had a bit of a kick but was amazing. Then the best till last. The Chicken skewers in a satay sauce. Amazing. Chicken was so succulent and tasty and the sauce was probably the best Satay Sauce I’ve had. We opted for 3 different mains so we could all share, We got the Chicken Curry, Beef Chow Mien and the Chicken in Black Pepper Sauce on a skillet. 3 extremely large portions and all 3 were out of this world. We also got the fried rice and the Salt and Pepper Chips. I could go on all night raving about each dish but they will all be reviewed the same way. Each dish was cooked to perfection. The portions were that big we all left the restaurant absolutely stuffed yet with leaving food on the plate as there was that much. We live in Newcastle but i can say I would happily travel to Blackpool if only to visit and have a meal here. Amazing place.

The food was excellent as normal. The Service is really good. Added experience as we visited at Hallowe'en weekend and the Staff had all made a real effort to dress for the evening. They had a competition running for the best costume. Need to know who won? Looking forward to visiting again next time we are in Blackpool.

Wonderful food good service will come again

4 of us dined at ocean palace on the 13th of October. Food was okay!! starters were hot and sour soup and if I’m marking out of 10 I would give it a 5, 2 of us had the curry which was extremely salty and gloopy. The prawn toasts were quite large in size compared to other restaurants we have visited and my friend found this over facing for a starter. The pepper beef was good on the sizzling skillet. Salt and chilli chips were disappointing as they were frozen with the added mix of the salt and pepper seasoning. Service wasn’t great although the food did arrive pretty quickly we would have rather waited for quality, with a bit less quantity. We regularly go to an award winning restaurant in Saint Anne’s that serves delicious Asian meals. After this experience we will certainly keep going to where we know is the best As they say some folk will eat anything! On this occasion I’m afraid these folk won’t.

We arrived on the chance we'd be seated but it was already busy. The restaurant asked us to wait though and our party of 7 could then be accommodated. This place never disappoints, it's been a while since we were here last and it's better than we remember it. The kids absolutely loved eating the food as did we. The service was excellent, accommodating, professional yet caring. A truly wonderful place, but I recommend booking. The toilets here were super clean which I think speaks volumes of any establishment. Well done to the team at Ocean Palace. You made us feel very welcome, thanks from all of us.

Booking is easy enough online Restaurant is set right in middle of Blackpool and close to all pubs etc. We were shown to our table and to our disgust, the wall where were sitting had all dried food on it. Yuk! Menu was absolutely filthy...

What a hidden gem, went in on a Saturday night and the host soon got us a table. The prawn roast is the best I have ever tasted. The tastes of all the dishes was 100 percent perfect with such flavours. The meat was so soft. Will definitely recommend this place a thousand times over thank you 😊

Average Chinese food. Good value. Not a big variety of choice like in some Chinese restaurant. We had aromatic duck, salt and pepper spare ribs, steam seabass, sweet and sour king prawn.

This is an amazing resteraunt, we were looking for a gluten free option for friend. The owner clearly knew his stuff and the resteraunt I'd practically 90% gluten free. It's great to walk in a place and the staff understand this is a medical illness....
