It’s always packed!! Which speaks volumes of the food and service. The atmosphere is cosy as the seats are very close together but please don’t let that put you off!

We went for brunch/lunch on Saturday. It's always busy and bustling and this time we needed space for a high chair. Space is a premium at the Guillemot and sometimes you have to wait 5-10 minutes for a table, but they are just so helpful and everyone is very friendly.

The Dirty Duck

03/03/2019: The Dirty Duck offers good food in a really busy and comfortable atmosphere. Always busy I particularly enjoy the upstairs tables with the view over Belfast Lough - or in the summer food is served in the large outside garden.
05/04/2019: This place was packed on a weekday lunch time so it obviously is a very popular restaurant. Only table available was next to the kitchen so suffered from a strong smell of food being cooked. This lingers on clothing and is rather unpleasant. Coke for myself was served in a miniscule glass. I wasn't paying so I'm unsure of the cost but the size was ridiculously small. Mains of scampi was only average as the batter had an taste of cooking oil. Only saving grace in the whole experience was the excellent service.

The Ava Grill Restaurant

17/03/2019: A really lively spot even as early as 5:30pm. Shown to seats straightaway (you can't book in advance unless a larger party). New menu from the last time we were there, lots of choice. I went for the chilli chicken and unfort they have changed the dipping sauce- not quite as nice as before (IMO). Fellow dinners had the salmon risotto which was lovely and the steak sandwich, which was a full piece of steak. Service was good and quick and everything as ordered.
18/04/2019: We don’t normally get out for Sunday lunch but when we had the chance we decided to give the AVA a go, we took advantage of the two course deal which runs on a Sunday. I opted for the mussels in a garlic cream sauce which were absolutely delicious, I had the cod for my main and was so happy with my meal. My partner had the traditional Sunday roast and we also had our 1 year old who loved the hotdog and almost ate everything it was that good. We thought they service was friendly and were great With our little one, they had live music playing in the main part of the restaurant. Really enjoyed our family lunch and will be back.
