The Grove Fish & Chips in Glasgow City

They only do take out and service was abit slow, but to be fair it’s slow as they cook the food on the sport the ensuite the best temperature for the food before you take it home, the portions are quite big, I’m a heavy eater and I struggled to finish a fish and chips supper, This was also where I was introduced to deep fried mars bars, enjoy in moderation

Excellent prices, I paid £6.20 for two big fish, fresh and tasty on a fresh oil, very polite service, I honestly think it's best Fish & Chips that I eat in Glasgow.

A great place to satisfy your hunger. The fish is very delicious. All with good oil. Very nice service. There is a park near the bar where you can eat a meal. I sincerely recommend it!

Amazing food and service, loved the battered mars bars and lovely fish.

Chips were anaemic/undercooked, batter became soggy quickly in the packaging. Bit underwhelming even for a chippy and especially with all other options currently around.

Tiny wee fish n chip shop that my partner and I popped into while out on a visit one day. Gentleman running the counter was very kind while my American Partner got accustomed to the menu and was happy to help us out. Portion sizes were neat, and the price was alright. Would visit again for sure.

Visited here 3 times when i was staying in Glasgow. Highly recommend. Had the haggis supper every time.

Great local takeaway, which can be a little busy on nights when there are events on in the hydro but that just shows its popularity. I go regularly and I am always happy with the portion sizes and the food. I highly recommend their chips, cheese and curry sauce.

I don't know if I'm old and grumpy but £3.90 for a "large" bag of chips that was in actual fact "small" by comparison to any other chippy in town is a rip-off. The chips were an undesirable blend of half-cooked and soggy, which made it even worse.

Came here the night before leaving Glasgow as I fancied a pizza crunch and chips! Both pizza crunch and chips were on point! Would come back here again!

Small but perfectly formed. I’m not usually a big fish supper fan but it’s a good benchmark for a chip shop and I can confirm it was delicious. Fish was clean and flavourful, chips had a bit of crunch. Nice location and fairly priced

Freshly made fish and chips with haggis, with a side of mushy peas. Everything was brilliant and tasty, crispy thin tasty butter. And friendly service to boot.

Особо это блюдо понравится тем же тем украинцам и другим русским, кто вырос в СССР, и помнит советские пирожковые, которые были повсеместно с универсальным для всей страны меню. Там были один в один такие же по вкусу пирожки в кляре с потрохами. Для меня это стало ностальгическим вкусом детства в СССР. Мясо было исключительно качественно помолото. Никаких косточек, никаких жилок и хрещей. Вкусно. Рекомендую. В самом месте столов и стульев нет. Еда на вынос. Кушали напротив, сидя в машине.

There's a chippy nearer my work but it's rank rotten. It's worth the extra 5 minute walk for this

They serve fresh fish and chips. Nominal costs and good portion size. Just opposite to tesco. Good staff.

Food is decent, but on a subsequent visit the staff told me they were shut 10 minutes before their quoted time. Disappointed

Got the 2 piece fish supper with peas & gravy last night. Very disappointed with the fish - cold, soft batter and tasteless. The chips & gravy were great. I’ve tried the special (breaded) fish before which gets made to order and is much better.

I am a Chef myself for over 10 years, and I am a little bit disappointed, The fish was good, some sea salt on top would be great because the batter was quite flat in taste. Unfortunately the chips were really mushy like they were sitting for some time already. What I felt really disappointing is, they have tartar sauce in sachets......... A Fish and Chips shop should make their own Signature Tartar sauce! For me it was just a little less than average...

Biased, because this is my main chippy, but my first experience here was so wonderful. One of the staff members was patient and so eager to introduce me to the Glaswegian ways with a classic fish supper, battered Mars Bar, and pizza crunch. Quick, solid food and friendly staff!

Was on a business trip staying the Lorne hotel which was amazing by the way, traveling around the area to grab a bite, I was drawn into the Grove because it was busy and I can understand why! Great food especially their pie and chips...Lovely staff and they Evan made me a Deep fried mars bar coated in batter which was the best 10seconds of my life!!!! Definitely if your around the area be sure to check out the grove 👍❤️

La atención fue muy amable. Cuando fui al menos estuvimos 3 personas en la fila lo que me hizo pensar que el servicio debe de ser muy bueno. La comida está bien pero no es lo que yo esperaba puesto que tiene muy buen puntaje... Las papas estaban frías y el pescado tenía mucho empanizado.

Great chips, massive battered sausage, mine was hot and fresh and quite cheap.

This this chip shops would be great if they sold hot food. Sadly they only serve reformed Scampi & cold chips at top west end prices. Best advice is save your money and have a Mac Donald’s.

was in here tonight to buy 4 large bags of chips that nr £12 I asked for them to not be put in the tray asked for salt and vinegar there wasn't any in the bags I was absolutely astounded by the small portion which I was served and the bags weren't even wrapped properly I got home they where cold not cooked properly a real amateur attempt What a waste of money Well Hacked aff an defo will not be going here again

Wonderful staff. We were visiting from Australia and wanted to try a deep fried Mars Bar. The staff were happy to oblige and also recommended we try a pizza crunch. We ordered both, being on holiday, and they were awesome. Who thinks of these things! Thanks for all your effort and amazing food. 👍
