We had my mother in laws 80th birthday meal here today. The food was fantastic and the staff were very friendly and accommodating and made it very special for her. Lovely old traditional building aswell. Thank you

Been here a few times, came yesterday and had the most amazing afternoon tea, even better food than the Savoy. Included was tea/coffee and a cocktail. Couldn't eat all the desserts and took a few home. Amazing food for amazing value. PS the mixed grill on steak night is top notch too.

Great Sunday lunch. All the staff were great. Liv our waitress was in particular outstanding 😊

Thai curry and Basmati rice...had to ask for it to be warmed up, it was cold. Came back warmer. Ramekin of solid rice which was glooped together, not a bit fluffy, still not piping hot. Bowl of liquid with tiny bits of chicken floating in it, no pepper, onions or anything. Microwave rubbish. The desert was nice despite not being much choice left. No decaf Latte coffee, just incredibly strong instant like gravy. Absolutely won't go there again.

Amazing food and great location. We've eaten here several times and every dish has been top notch.. Steaks, steak and ale pie, beer battered fish, and our favourite - Moules & Frites! Only issue we have had is from other diners, such as inconsiderate parents playing tablets on full blast for their kids so they could enjoy a few pints.

Great food, fantastic customer service and reasonably priced.

This is a lovely venue to enjoy the superb food which is reasonably priced and served well. Staff very pleasant. There is a special offer, at lunch time, Monday to Thursday for senior citizens, two courses for £12.95. We just went straight choosing off the main menu but when we saw the sweets, we realised that we should have gone for the offer which was pointed out to us by a member of staff. Will definitely go again and opt for the two courses offer.

Beautiful building , superb high quality food and helpful staff. There is disabled access around the back which could do with being signposted as we circled the building trying to find the way in. However once inside, everything was perfect. Over 60s discount for the two course meal too.

We had a lovely, tasty breakfast and the setting was lovely, but unfortunately it was extremely noisy. The waitress had to really shout to be heard, whilst a gaggle of noisy children tore around the restaurant. The food was really well presented and I'm guessing local produce as the quality was high. Unfortunately the atmosphere let it down, which I'm guessing can't be changed as the restaurant is part of a family holiday park.

Love this place , staff friendly, food excellent, plenty of history to the house too . A must .

Everything is excellent. The sirloin steak was so juicy and the calamari, goat cheese mousse (starters) were very tasty. Merlot red wine very delicious too. Child-size burger and chips excellent. Service friendly and nice, no service charge. Atmosphere is amazing, so historic and elegant. For this quality and portion sizes, the price is still budget -friendly. Strongly recommended.

Amazing meal and atmosphere. Located in an old hall the dining area has been very tastefully decorating making for a relaxed dining experience. The menu is limited so you know everything is fresh, there will definitely be something for everyone on there, and the wine list has a good selection of well chosen wines. We had the calamari and confit duck for starters, they were sublime - as for the garlic sauce if it doesn't come with the order, it's is amazing! For main course we had the chicken and pork, again, freshly cooked, plated beautifully and so so tasty. We really couldn't manage a desert after that but the staff did let us have the lime and lemon ice cream, a sublime palate cleanser! If you want excellent food and relaxed dining then this is the place for you. Will definitely be back!

What a fantastic place, all of the staff were professional polite and really nice. The food was excellent . We will be going again as it’s well worth the hours drive from where live. Keep up the great work.

We visited the Coach House for the first time to have drinks and pizzas. It is a great environment with lots of atmosphere. There are lovely brick walls, wooden beams and quirky ornaments and stuff on the walls, like a Shepherds Bush tube enamel station sign. There are also some comfy sofas to sit on. Access is only by wooden stairs. We had Aspalls draught cider, which we like. The pizzas we had were pesto and funghi (mushroom). The pesto pizza was nice but not Excellent. It had too much pesto on it which was overwhelming, although the tomato and mozzarella were tasty. When you picked up the pizza, the toppings fell off. They shouldn't be doing this The dough base was nice and nicely cooked, but not quite excellent. My partner had the mushroom pizza. She ate nearly all of it so it must've been Good and she preferred hers to mine. She did however say it was Good, but not Excellent, mainly referring to the taste and texture of the dough base. Service was Good in our opinion and staff are very friendly. So to sum up, the venue is fabulous and the pizzas were Good but not Excellent. We recommend management offer more choice with toppings going forward. The only place locally we can compare the pizzas to is the Huntsman Pub on the other side of Cheadle who also have a wood fired oven. We have to say the Huntsman Pub's pizzas are currently superior.

1st time visiting after a lot of good things said about the breakfasts. Spot on, Hales hall breakfast (with an added extra sausage) is the epitomy of a full English breakfast. All staff were great, will be returning. Easy 5*

Nice breakfast, great service. They lose a point as they got an order wrong. But they did give a free drink as an apology.

Great location, superb interior of the restaurant with very elegant touches, the restaurant it’s like eating in a mansion. Great selection of drinks. The menu is a bit limited in choices, would of loved to see more selection of starters as there plenty of desserts. Overall food has been tasty, warm enough, good portion size and decent prices. Staff could be a lot more attentive to the customers. The place has a lot more potential than it offers, and it would be absolutely amazing to actually have a room maybe that you can visit for all the old items exposed on the stairs and around the place. Maybe also considering to have a special menu of food and drinks designed to fit in with the atmosphere as well as having the cutlery/ glasses/ plates etc in line with the vibe of the place. The menu could also benefit off having it printed on a different colour rather than carton colour and black writing as it is very hard to read. Big carpark around the back and easy to find the location. Would come back to try the breakfast selection and the sunday lunch.

Our first visit was for a birthday party. The buffet selection was wonderful with charcuterie, chicken kebabs and a delicious roasted black garlic aioli. The staff were brilliant, friendly, helpful, polite and welcoming. The drink selection was extensive and reasonably priced. I am looking forward to our next night out there.

DO NOT GO HERE I WENT 2 weeks ago and it was horrible the horrible lady the chef was horrible honestly the food tasted like sweaty feet I also took my mum for a meal for her birthday she didn’t enjoy her food also she had bad food poisoning afterward please sort your food out thankyou

The dining experience is first class with excellent food and great service from friendly helpful staff. This is our 3rd visit. We've had roast dinners which were excellent and afternoon tea which was a great experience with tasty sandwiches and delicious cakes.

Food was lovely, when you could actually get to eat it. Managed to have a meal and 1 drink in the space of 2hours. Felt too busy for them to handle. Asked the waiting staff 3 times for drinks and desserts just never materialised.

What should have been a pleasant pensioners afternoon lunch, turned out to be an Arctic survival trip! Several steep steps to the front door without any hand rails. The library where we were shown to was extremely cold and uncomfortable, with cold hard chairs. The empty unused fireplace was barely compensated for by a few small plug in radiators. It would have been nice if their had been a real fire rather than a TV screen on the wall showing one! The food was not of restaurant quality, neither was the service. Very disappointing experience. I shall not be returning!

Attended this afternoon for a work Christmas lunch with about 19 others. Room was fantastic,very atmospheric. Food was amazing and staff were top notch. Can't praise highly enough,thank you.

Greatfull for the restaurant having a Sunday take away service. When plans change and you can't go out for tea and there's no food in the house. Ringing and finding out there was still take away availability amazing news! Even better was the beef was beautiful and the potatos were seasoned well. Parsnips weren't hard and the gravy was beautiful to top it all off. Made a day turned upside down into a fabulous meal at home. Thanks soo much.

We had a wonderful dining experience here yesterday. Firstly, the wait staff are outstanding. Of all the positives of this restaurant, the service provided is its greatest asset, in my opinion. The wait staff are genuinely friendly and helpful, professional yet keen to establish rapport. The dining area itself is very well designed, making use of the history of the building while adding a modern touch. The food was amazing. From the lunch menu, I had the calamari followed by the roast beef dinner. My husband had the ham hock terrine and then rump steak with chips. Everything was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. I am already planning our next trip!

We went for breakfast, as ever it was really good , piping hot & delicious. The Christmas decorations added a festive twist.

I cannot rate this restaurant highly enough. We are always greeted with a warm welcome. Food is absolutely delicious with good sized portions. Beautifully decorated at the moment with Christmas festivities, if you haven't been before you must try this restaurant out. The architecture of the building gives a grand feel and the atmosphere is so relaxing. It's one of my favourite places to go.

I booked a table as I was recommended it by a friend but it was absolutely atrocious and I shall not be returning! Located on a caravan site there is no signage for this restaurant or parking, instead it was lucky guessing where to abandon your vehicle and which door to use. The front door was stunningly decorated with large Christmas wreaths, however there was no railing up several steep steps and no sign or indication that these closed doors were the way in. The interior is indulgently and extravagantly decorated (aside from the ripped canvas painting in the library which gives haunted house vibes). The vintage Christmas decorations currently up are charming. Once inside there is no greeter in the entrance hall and the “wait to be seated” sign is three rooms over from the main entrance. After a short wait we were shown to a table in the library (as we had a dog) and were told menus would be coming shortly. After 5 minutes at the table without menus we were told to move to a different smaller table (our original table remained empty during the 2 hours we were there). The library that we sat in was very cold, this is understandable in old buildings, however utilising the fire place to have a fire would have been a lot more useful than the Christmas decorations and tv showing a roaring fire was. After 5 minutes of sitting at the new table we ordered drinks and requested food menus, and a further 10 minutes later ordered our food. Ordering a starter and main seemed to confuse the waitress who wanted to take starter orders first and come back for mains orders once starters had been eaten. However, we were already concerned that there would be delays with the food (due to the poor service in taking the orders and lack of drinks delivery) so persisted in ordering the starters and mains in the initial food order. We had to go to the bar to request our drinks again as they had yet to be delivered 20 minutes after ordering them (drinks were a sparkling water and Diet Coke so hardly complex cocktails). The food arrived 30 minutes after it was ordered, starters and mains together which struggled to fit onto the smaller table we had been moved to. A second set of cutlery was also not brought. Once the starter was eaten the main was colder than ideal. The food itself was tasty, however no better than a standard gastro pub and did not make up for the very poor service. While eating we were not asked how the food was. We were offered dessert menus when our plates were cleared but had to flag down a passing waitress to order 10 minutes later. We ordered two desserts and two hot drinks. The Earl grey tea caused great confusion to the waitress who asked if this was a drink and was served in a mug rather than a teapot which would be expected from a restaurant. 25 minutes after we placed the dessert orders we were served with two bowls of luke-warm apple pie and custard. We both found it to be completely inedible. The pie was bland, pastry thick and stodgy, and had an odd taste to it. The apples were not seasoned or spiced. After waiting a further 10 minutes without the plates being cleared or a bill offered we went to pay at the bar. The bill was £12 overcharged which we had to argue with the team leader to get lowered to the correct value. It is also worth noting that the toilets were not sign posted either and the door to the gents was propped open giving full view to the urinals to any passers-by. It’s such a pity that this restaurant was so disappointing as with a little training and more attention from the staff this could be a delight.

Amazing place. Had a lovely meal, with the nicest staff. Friendly service like this is actually quite rare, but every single person we encountered was just really nice! Good range of vegetarian options. Portion sizes very generous (sadly we were too full for pudding 😭)

First visit for a lunch had heard the food was very good and I was not disappointed. We had a soup & sandwich which was lovely, very filling. Homemade soup and a tuna roll with chips & salad Very pleasant staff. Would definitely go again

The roast of the day (beef) was incredible! We definitely could have had seconds! Highly recommend! We also had a pudding, we had cheesecake of the day (red velvet) & Bakewell tart - both delicious! The staff were fab with our little boy too!

First ever visit to The Grosvenor Restaurant. But I’ll definitely visit again and I’ll recommend to family and friends too The service was amazing. ( special mention to Bethan ) who was our waitress for the evening. She really is such a lovely young lady Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you The Food was very very nice. Really tasty. We were a party of 8 friends on our table. We all got our meals at the same time. Which is always a bonus Everyone enjoyed their meals. Lots of clean plates. Extremely good value. We were looked after so well. Thank you all so much for making our evening special.

We went for our anniversary meal, decided to have the 3 course meal, went for the soup starter which was peppered soup, it was so sweet was like eating a full bowl of sugar absolutely terrible, so we both left that, then both had beef dinner for main, it arrived well presented but lacked taste and flavour was very bland, vegetables were rock hard hardly cooked at all, beef was so dry and mash I’ve never tasted something so bland and tasteless, Yorkshire pudding was burnt black, customer service was not the best either, did not ask us how our meals were, and only came to us for 1 drink order from the start, will not be returning one of the worst meals we have ever had!

Visited for a small cooked breakfast. Enjoyed the food; it was well cooked and presented. £5 for a small breakfast is good value for money. Toast was a little on the pale side but that's just my preference and hardly worth mentioning. Staff were all friendly. Atmosphere was good, I liked the fact it was busy on a Monday and that there was some background music. The only annoyance was three flies which were constantly landing on us whilst we dined. Overall very satisfied and I would definitely return.

Best restaurant in the area! Super delicious food, great service, the atmosphere is also very good.

Went for the tapas night. Seats were uncomfortable and awkward for our party of 10. The olives and bread were supposed to be an appetizer but ours came with the main meals. Some of the food was delicious but lacked variety. Most dishes are chilli hot and oily. The steak was cut into 4 and 1 piece was inedible as it was just a lump of fatty gristle. I did inform the staff but didn't get a response. £60 for 5 dishes is a bit expensive. Deserts were well presented but very sugary. We've had breakfast here before and it's much better.

First visit to The Grosvenor Restaurant and it won't be the last. A beautiful old building set in the rolling greenery of the Staffordshire Moorlands. Friendly staff and a warm welcome, followed by excellent,tasty food and a relaxed atmosphere. Very popular so book in advance. The Hales Hall Burger is highly recommended.

Very busy place at this time of year. Please watch out for children running in front of you whilst driving to the car park for the restaurant. Lots of tents, caravans around . Went for a tapas night . It was ok I’ve been to better I personally think £60 for 2 people is a bit steep. Not much choice on menu . Dessert no choice just what was on menu . Staff were friendly. I have been here for breakfast and that was lovely. Location great . Car park not big enough at such a busy night . Yes would go back but not for tapas night .

Lovely tasty food and excellent service from the staff. We visited last night for 'pie night' and I was recommended the Chicken and Chorizo pie. Safe to say I wasn't disappointed! Looking forward to returning soon.
