The Grill on the Hill in Bradford

Very disappointing food. It's difficult to believe that there is a chef in the kitchen. Everything we had, I could have cooked far better myself. The duck was far from crispy as advertised. It was drowning in gravy liquid with undissolved granules on the plate. The risotto was bland and sloppy. The chips were soft and the oil must have been old because they had that certain taste. We asked for no butter in one of the meals and it seemed very difficult to organise. The place, although cosy and clean, lacked the quality that the menu promised and is something in-between overpriced pub grub and school dinner. On the plus side .. the bar and waiting staff were super friendly and very apologetic. They took on the feedback. They graciously took the worst of our meals off the bill which was much appreciated. The wine we ordered was lovely. I really hope they switch their chef. The menu is promising.. the hotel is lovely and the staff so friendly. It's a pity the food isn't up to scratch as it would have made our experience at the hotel perfect.

What can I say: the food was hot I guess. The chef has clearly never put any effort into tasting what he cooks. Tofu was cooked perfectly to put everyone off tofu. Gnocchi described as hearty and nutty and just looked like bland slop. Tasted similar too.

Chips undercooked, 90% of the surface of my burger is black and crunchy and all my dietary requests ignored Haven't even left my seat or finished my meal yet, I'm that annoyed Must take quite the unique skillset to manage to both over and undercook two parts of the same meal

Worst restaurant I have ever visited. Burger came cold , burnt, dry and tasteless . Salmon dish was ludicrously fatty with the most tasteless caeser salad in living memory. Avoid this place. Chef needs putting out of their misery.

Delicious lunch with 4 friends - chicken risotto and chicken salad. We had a lovely time and were more than satisfied. If anything perhaps the portions were over generous.

The fish and chips was ok. The staff perfect.

starter came with the main ? quite possibly the worst burger ive ever had. tastless and dry. shame as its quite a nice place.

Despite it being a cold evening, the restaurant is riddled with flies. You have to order at the bar despite several staff chatting and wondering around. No pizza left, fish was not cod despite saying it was, the homemade pie was a pukka pie despite asking at the bar was it homemade or not, the pasta was edible and we had to pay adult prices for a child. When I told the staff they were 'oh sorry'. One butted in and said she would get the Manager who mysteriously disappeared. Overall, wouldn't choose to eat here again, the food is heated up and nothing is fresh or homemade.

Awful evening meals food is bland and looks like it’s all been microwaved. No table service despite staff hanging around very disappointing worst hotel I’ve stayed in. Breakfast is yet again self service and not very warm. Tea and coffee is also Luke warm. Definitely wouldn’t stay again nowhere near 4 stars they need to lower the rating as very misleading and over priced.
