A really nice restaurant with plenty of parking facility. Food was good, ordered fish and chips with a portion of beans and partner ordered the same with mashy peas. I would go again but this time I would order something different. It was really quiet...

I can't believe the bad reviews on here. Our visit tonight for our anniversary was met with professional happy staff. We were greeted at the door by a friendly professional guy, as was the barman. The young lady waitress who was new was polite and...

Not bad if you're using your tastecard here, we went for the steaks and couldn't complain, peppercorn sauce could have been better. Service not too bad, nothing to rave about but was sufficient. Give it a try and see what you think..

Miramos las críticas, que eran de un extremo a otro así que no sabía si debemos tratar o no? a los chinos, en el antiguo local pero era un llevar así que terminamos en el Grill.El servicio y la comida era buena.4 adultos y 4 niños, así que una buena selección de comida entre nosotros. Todo fresco y caliente. También no me puedo quejar del servicio. En general, sin duda me alojaría aquí de nuevo!

Pensamos en probar este lugar, ya que no está demasiado lejos para ir andando desde donde vivimos. Así que reservamos una mesa para las 19:00 un viernes por la noche y llegamos a 18,30 por bermut antes de cenar. Nos pareció que estaba vacío aparte de la pareja y un miembro del personal en un descanso. Nos recibió una chica con una sonrisa forzada y le dijimos que reservamos una mesa para las 19:00 y nos preguntó si nos podía tomar una bebida antes cenamos. Dijo que "sólo me hizo saber cuando estés listo" así que nos sentamos esperando ella venga y tomar nota pero se quedó en el bar vacío charlando con el camarero. Así que después de 5 minutos que asumí que no era ese tipo de lugar así que me dirigí al bar pedir una pinta de San Miguel y un G&T, la cerveza cuesta £4 una pinta y plana. Nos sentamos hasta las 19,15 y nadie vino a mostrar a nuestra mesa, así que elegimos una y se sentó. 15 minutos más tarde tuvimos que pedir que lugar nuestra orden. Pedí el estante de costillas acampadas con col y patatas fritas y me dijeron que "no tenemos ninguna col. Después de 1/2 hora las costillas llegamos en una salsa barbacoa muy regado. ¡Puaj!Teníamos un desierto helado que era fina y en todo ese tiempo nadie se acercó a preguntar si estábamos bien o si necesitábamos bebidas. Caja fuerte a decir que no había dejado la propina y no volveremos. Es una pena porque este lugar tiene potencial pero es la calidad de la comida y los desinteresados, no puede ser molestado personal.

The Grill offers a great choice the food was lovely and no waiting!. Fashoinable enviroment and the service fantastic would definatley reccommend. super

Me and my husband went to this place Sunday 15th March and will never go again. We had to wait until the waitress had finished texting on her phone to be seated, my husband asked for a pint of fizzy orange I wanted a diet coke, they both came pints even though I never asked for a pint and it came flat, in the meantime a French couple were seated next to us and sat waiting very patiently along with ourselves for service!!! The lady commented how we had been sat there now 15 minutes and she could see the waitress at the bar texting on her phone. I don't mind a delay when the place is busy but it wasn't. Eventually my husband had to ask someone to take our order, I couldn't help feeling sorry for the couple next to us who were still waiting, this was painful to watch and I now knew why this place was nearly empty. Our food came and my husband had the steak and ale pie, they may as well called it dog food pie, even the waitress turned her nose up at it when we alerted her to it, my lasagne was swimming in oil, we left our meals and informed the waitress that we were not paying for them and we told the couple sat next to us that we were going to go to Macdonalds where the service and food was much better.We will never go to this place again and strongly advise others to think really hard before spending your hard earned money here.

Tuvimos una comida decepcionante aquí para un cumpleaños. Para una parrilla que cabe esperar que tenga suficientes filetes. Tenían acabaron 8 rabadillas oz y también la dianne de carne. Nos ofrecieron una alternativa pero nos dijeron que pagar extra. El servicio era exageradamente lento. 25 minutos para pedir bebidas, 40 minutos para pedir comida y nadie te molesta para asegurarse de que todo estaba bien o nos ofrecen menús desierto. La comida estaba recocido y grasienta. Cuando pagamos la factura nos preguntaron si todo estaba bien y cuando mencioné el servicio lento todos nos dieron estaban excusas. No volveremos.

Tuvimos una comida aquí la noche pasada para el cumpleaños de mi marido y nos lo pasamos de maravilla. El restaurante era agradablemente ocupado, el personal fue muy atento y realmente no podía hacer lo suficiente para nosotros incluye poner un banner y espantapájaros en la mesa después de que me lo había mencionado cuando reserva que era el cumpleaños de mi marido. Un toque realmente encantador. La comida era deliciosa, caliente y es lo primero con la perfección sincronización. No teníamos prisa y no demasiado lento. Estoy tan contento que decidimos comer aquí y esperamos volver muy pronto.

La última cosa que quiero hacer por la mañana, a primera hora es ir andando al otro lado. El hotel y el restaurante . en húmedo clima frío húmedo. La recepción parece más interesado en hablar con un chico, otro miembro del personal. La habitación estaba bien reservado en temprano sin ninguna actualización de diamantes aunque nunca parecía. Empezando a conseguir la sensación del best western están bajando la colina donde el servicio al cliente es como los uso semanal ? Parece que nada local aparte de hotel al otro lado de la calle con piscina ?quizás uso próxima visita

Limpio y luminoso, calefacción un poco de frío en la zona de desayuno, donde el fútbol estaba siendo mostrado, personal de la pelota y tanto el servicio y sonrisas. No comer pero señaló unos comida que nosotros adorable

La única razón por la que nos detuvimos aquí es porque lo vimos desde el lado de la calle cuando estábamos haciendo un viaje más bien largo. La comida estaba muy bien y como vegetariano, había mucho para elegir. El restaurante era muy agradable y limpio. A pesar de los comentarios anteriores de aquí, el personal era muy agradable. (que eran los clientes que viajen desde Islandia en Newcastle el 17 de enero). Espero que el personal conseguir algún tipo de reconocimiento para esto ya que nuestra experiencia estaba en desacuerdo con el de otras personas.

Mi hijo pequeño (4 años) y yo nos alojamos en el hotel Best Western y había pagado por el desayuno, que se toma en el Grill que estaba frente a los 25 años.

Visitamos esta tarde y en un lugar en el que llama a sí mismo la parrilla se esperaría que saben cómo cocinar carne. pedido de mediano a bien hecho. Uno de los extremos cortados y era bastante rosa así que cortar por el medio y fue rezuman líquido rosa. Nos llevó, y les pedimos que hecho de mediano a así como pedí. El director se nos clavaban en con una cuchara y nos llevó a la cocina. Se volvió y tenían obviamente sólo sartén los extremos que había cortado. Comimos algunos de cortar nuevamente, pero cuando todavía era rosa brillante. Mi marido tenía fajitas. El sofocante servidor parecía bueno y era abundante, pero las tortillas habían sido calentados congeladas como eran bastante pasada y húmedo en lugares pero seco y frágil en otros. El lugar estaba lleno y no puedo imaginar por qué. La comida es horrible y no una PARRILLA.

Conducido por unas cuantas veces y pensamos en probarlo. Un ambiente agradable, no hay mucha gente, pero supongo que depende de lo lleno que está el hotel. La música era buena y el volumen correcto!

I went to a Christmas party the food was cold veg over cooked staff were ok ish but it was like all the food had been re heated more than one the turkey did not taste like turkey the pigs in blankets were frozen bought in ones the gravy was lumpy never going there again

Siempre he pensado que estás seguro tener una hamburguesa porque lo que podría ir mal? Por desgracia estaba equivocado en este caso. La hamburguesa estaba bien, pero todo lo demás era muy pobre. El tocino que pedí que estaba lejos de crujientes extra, a la ensalada en la hamburguesa era vieja y añeja, las patatas fritas eran muy underdone, la salsa de tomate sabor como el más barato que podrían tener en sus manos. Mi esposa tenía las costillas con salsa barbacoa. Esto también era bastante pobre. La carne no era muy agradable y la salsa era más como una salsa y no pegajosa. las patatas fritas eran las mismas que la mía. Los aros de cebolla era genial, lástima el resto era tan pobre. No volveremos.

The evening meal was excellent as you would expect from this quality hotel. The staff were very good and helpful. The breakfast....was probably the best we have encopuntered in any hotel for many years. It was superb. You have to try it.

Fuimos para una comida la noche antes de nuestro vuelo y estaba muy decepcionado. Teníamos nachos compartir que estaban bien, pero, una vez más, no puedes perder. Mi plato de pasta era aguachento, algunas de la pasta hecha y la salsa era simplemente y sin sabor, a pesar de que se supone que estaba lleno de Chile y ajo. Mis socios pescado estaba saliendo y sabor no muy agradable. Pagué extra para ensalada con mi pasta que era sólo un puñado de ensalada de ir en bolsa y unos trozos de cebolla, esperaba más por el precio. Para rematar mi socios putting vinieron y la crema de cerezas había salido, no sólo por un día, pero se notaba que había ido por unos pocos días, el olor era horrible! Cualquier medio chef decente hubiese notado que olía mal y lo más gracioso color amarillo! Teníamos un flan de sustitución después de quejarnos pero tomó mucho tiempo en llegar y el personal ni siquiera sabía que era la nuestra. Im sólo me alegro de que no tuvimos que pagar el precio completo para la comida!

Delicious breakfast and lovely evening meal they even catered to my 3 little fussy eaters. Very relaxed atmosphere and the staff were extremely helpful and polite. Would recommend and will use again when we next visit.

The restaurant is only 20 yards from the hotel entrance, with a bar, restaurant area and separate breakfast room. the latter was light and spacious and the food choice extensive hot and cold.j

Fuimos a este restaurante en particular con mi pareja, habíamos reservado una mesa para 7 personas. Llegamos temprano, pero esto no fue un problema para el personal, y nos sentamos enseguida. Fuimos recibidos por una señora que era presumiblemente el gerente, bastante agradable a pesar del paquete de cigarrillos salidos de su bolsillo de la chaqueta.

We risked life and limb crossing the road from the Novotel where we were staying (prices there silly). The Grill staff were friendly and efficient and the food - the normal burger/grill menu was well cooked and tasty; the drinks prices were also okay.

Tuvimos una cena maravillosa en familia la noche antes de nuestro vuelo a la parrilla en 25. La comida era muy buena y a un precio razonable. También reservamos para el desayuno en la mañana, esto fue buena, sin embargo éramos los únicos en el restaurante y parecía que el personal quería dejar como rápidamente como sea posible, aunque había casi una hora de desayuno. Aparte de eso había una amplia selección de comida y nos las arreglamos para disfrutar de nuestro desayuno.

Visitamos aquí ya me estaba cambiando a la zona y buscando una casa decente de carne, este no es el lugar.

La comida y el servicio muy bueno. Diseñado como un American Diner el 'grill' está al lado del hotel. Sólo tuvimos que esperar unos minutos para estar sentado, y comida llegó rápidamente. Bien preparado. Comparado con los restaurantes típicos Harvester adjunto a Premier Inn, etc. esto era diferente, y muy bueno.

Good food reasonably priced,but no dogs allowed so had to take back to room which could be an issue when rainy or icy!

The service started off good then went downhill , it was as if they switched off , found the service slow even though it was quiet , the steak for a rib eye was very dry (med rare) for the money charged two can eat the same meal although probably better cooked for half the price at the Bulls Head just another 5 mins down the road

Asistí a mis hijos boda el viernes, la organización y ayuda del personal especialmente Chris, que se esforzó al máximo. El lugar era genial, la comida lo mejor que he probado en una boda, nada para el personal que nos consiguió todas las preocupaciones de la novia así hacer su día especial día debe ser, sin estrés.

Mejor lugar para una boda, el personal, comida, lugar era excelente, la habitación estaba muy profesionalmente y la novia era exactamente lo que queríamos. El organizador Chris, nada era mucho y ella incluso no cosas en su propio tiempo para asegurarse que cada cosa era perfecta.

Cenamos en el Grill 25 (bar y parrilla) en el evneing del sábado 23 2014 Agosto ya que nos quedamos en el hotel Best Western en el mismo sitio.

Visitamos con amigos y aunque la decoración y el personal era muy bueno, me pareció que el menú era un poco escaso. La selección era bastante limitado y simple, y aunque la comida estaba bien, no era perfecto (salsas y ensalada falta, etc). La única diferencia entre el "dos por uno", lugares de tipo y aquí está el precio que más y la presentación al estar mejor.

A nice bar diner with good food, good service and pleasant happy staff all at a reasonable price. The menu choice is good and the food well presented and very tasty.

Visité la parrilla en 23 mayo y tenía la intención de escribir una crítica desde entonces.

Tuvimos una comida familiar aquí a mediados de la semana, cuando la única tabla, hasta hacia el final de nuestra comida cuando unos cuantos más clientes llegamos. Por lo tanto, el servicio era fantástico, y el personal muy acogedor para nuestros niños. hamburguesas, costillas y carne eran preciosos y sabroso. No es lujoso, pero entre semana estupendo para un bocado.

Normalmente no me molestes con comentarios, pero fuimos hoy aquí después de un día con la familia y no puedo hablar maravillas del lugar! hamburguesas para los niños y un poco de algo más sofisticado y me la DH. El primer plato de queso asado hallomi seguido de delicioso salmón chili con ensalada griega, ¿tengo que decir más! El personal no podía hacer lo suficiente para nosotros y era muy servicial, incluso nuestras peticiones de menú eran sin problemas. Pero lo mejor de todo, el proyecto de ley no fue como nos esperaba pagar para esta calidad y nivel. En verdad, si tienes la oportunidad de comer aquí debe. Una joya escondida. No cabe duda de que volveremos!

We decided to try here as local and looked nice.. Big mistake ! After a reasonable start seated drinks etc it all went very much down hill ! Our food arrive and straight away we noticed there was a mistake on the order we had ordered the pole of onion rings only to be brought the side dish the waitress took this away and just brought back a slightly bigger plate maybe a bit picky but a pole of onion rings I was expecting the pole with it ? We were offered no sauces with the meal and had to spend 10 mins with food going cold trying to attract a waitress attention. During the meal not once did anyone come and check how it was so had no chance to complain about the extremely over cooked steak! Or also If we required any further drinks. The waitress then came over and asked if we had finished again no ask to what the meal was like despite there being left over food. She then took away one set of plates leaving my wife's plates for a further 20 mins before returning to ask if we wanted the bill no offer of a dessert or tea or coffee again now clearing my wife's dishes with no question as to how the meal was etc. Overall massively disappointed and will not be returning!

We shared the platter starter, which was just ok. For my main I had the half rack of ribs, fries, coleslaw and a half corn on the cob. The ribs were tasty and tender. The chips were frozen, which is a pet hate of mine, I admit. If I go out for a meal I want something someone has actually peeled and cooked, NOT FROZEN CHIPS. The coleslaw was good, the corn on the cob was a bit soggy. We had the ice cream sundae for dessert, which could have been more interesting. It was chocolate and vanilla ice cream with a few brownie bits thrown in and topped with whipped cream from a can. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the staff were lovely, very friendly, attentive and helpful. If this place is going to do well they really need to up their game, food wise.

Fuimos un grupo de 11 puertas tempranas en un fin de semana. Las primeras impresiones fueron buenas, decoración agradable, el servicio es bueno. Pedimos entrantes y platos principales y críticas mixtas del grupo. El primer plato de el halloumi a la anunciaban que vienen con una ensalada de rúcula, llegó mal presentado, con una mala excusa de una ensalada con lechuga, y un par de cubos de pepino. El el halloumi a la era muy finamente fileteado y cuando estás pagando £5 por esto me esperaba más. Los platos principales estaban de nuevo de calidad ambivalente, mi marido pidió un raro bistec medio/que venía muy bien hecho. Fue envió pero luego no tenían más de esa carne en particular, la segunda orden vino y el bistec estaba medio más que medio raro. pollo estaba seco, y las patatas fritas no estaban muy bien preparado. En general no fue una gran experiencia, pero tengo que decir que el servicio era bueno.

hemos estado aquí un par de veces y nunca he tenido una mala comida, el personal es muy amable y educado, una gran elección con un temprano aves reducido! La comida fue entregado en buen tiempo, caliente y estaba buenísimo! buenas raciones de tamaño así! Siempre en esta zona sin duda comer aquí!

This is the first time we have visited the grill,the first impression you get on entering is how clean and tidy it was and the staff were very friendly.We had a platter for 2 as starters which was ok and was served hot and promptly and the table was cleaned for us as condensation from the glass had wet the table.My wife had salmon linguini which was hot and very tasty and creamy.I had the bbq chicken with chips and peas.The bbq chicken with bacon on it looked a bit of a mess how it had been put together (no fault of the staff) but tasted ok.Overall if you want a convenient meal when staying next door at the hotel it is adequate with reasonably priced drinks and food.

I live approximately 10 minutes away from the grill, and I have family from down south who have stayed at the hotel that I believe is linked to the grill, I have not however tried the grill . I was a little dubious after reading some of the reviews on here, but as it is convenient I thought I would give it a go, and I am REALLY glad that I did. As a single parent of 3 children I often feel awkward dining out, the staff at the grill however were fantastic and made me and my children feel very welcome. As soon as we walked through the door we were welcomed and asked if we required a table, we were shown to a table straight away, in fact the lady that had welcomed us, asked my 7 year old son which table he would like to sit at, a small thing I no, but how many restaurants do you no that make the children feel so important. Our drinks order was taken straight away and we did not have a wait before our drinks were at our table. we ordered our food , from what I thought , to be a very extensive menu. whilst we were waiting for our food, my children were presented with a balloon each and an activity bag, a godsend for me, as trying to keep the kids occupied can sometimes be a nightmare. As it happened they had only just started the activities and our food arrived. The children's meals were excellent, and they cleared their plates, a novelty for my 5 year old, who is very fussy. I had the risotto, which was lovely. Whilst we were eating, we were asked if everything was ok with our food, and if we required any more drinks, a nice touch. It was clear to me that there were some regular visitors to this restaurant, I however did not feel any different to them, the staff really treat you as if they know you. Once we had finished our meal we were not made to feel that we were taking up space or rushed to leave, even though the restaurant was getting busy. All in all this was a very pleasant dining experience, my children are constantly asking if we can return, and I can assure that we will. Fantastic restaurant , with THE best staff that I have come across in a long time. Service, professionalism, and friendliness, 10 out of 10.

maybe it was just the girl who served me.the tables for singles or coulpes where on top of each other far to close.i had to wait more than 20 minutes for icecream and had to remind them when it came it had melted

I was just trying this place as an alternative to the hotel restaurant opposite (I mistakenly thought I'd find somewhere less depressing than a hotel bar! - maybe I'll try a morgue next time). This restaurant turned out to be an alternative in the same way as being stabbed is an alternative to being shot.The decoration in the restaurant was ok, I was greeted politely, shown to a table and the lager I ordered arrived pretty quickly. The menu looked appetising, so far so good. I ordered buffalo chicken wings to start and chicken fajitas for main, a few minutes later the wings arrived. I'm not quite sure how they managed to find such an anorexic chicken, I've seen more meat on KFC hot wings than the ones that arrived at my table. Do chickens get anorexia? Who knows, I'm no vet. I suspect that the chicken whose wings I ate had been dining at this restaurant and so had wasted away, in some sort of vicious cycle.The wings seem to have been deep fried in some sort of batter. I've done a fair bit of travelling around the USA and never seen anything like it. The taste was ok, but there was more batter than meat, so it was hard to judge. For £3.95 and as a starter, I was willing (unwisely) to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt.Shortly after the starter had been cleared away, a sizzling dish of chicken fajitas arrived. "Oh finally something to eat" I thought. On closer look, there seemed to be a distinct lack of chicken (there's a theme developing here) with only 6 small pieces of chicken to use with 3 tortillas. The fajita filling was tasty enough, just a severe rationing of chicken (in an American themed restaurant!). I can only imagine that there's a chicken addict in the kitchen, stealing chicken out of all the meals before they leave. You need help, my chicken junky friend. Try going cold turkey.For the price I expected more. Having eaten 2 chicken courses, I gave up and left to get something to actually eat.The waiting staff were ok, but never asked me how the food was. Probably for the best, I was clucking annoyed and hungry.I can't decide what this restaurant is trying to be. The prices are similar to say TGI Friday's or Frankie & Benny's (neither of which I really like), but the portion sizes are absolute budget!

Well, From the outside this place looks closed. And it sort of makes you fear the worst. However, once inside the decor is very nice and very relaxing. There is a good choice of drinks at the bar, and the menu is very nice. The food was excellent for the price, all was well cooked, and well presented. Compliments to the chef.But the best part about this restaurant is the staff, They are a credit to the company. And I hope their boss realises how good they are. All friendly and smiley. and our waitress was very nice and friendly and chatty. Wich is a rareity nowadays. You weren't rushed to eat or pestered continually for drinks etc. All in all I would highly reccomend this place.

We used this restaurant as we were staying at the Best Western next door. The unassuming outside masked what is a very chic interior. The menu was good and the drink choices plentiful. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was well presented and tasty. All in all it was a nice meal and reasonable value for money.

I arranged a party for 24 people, and the service of the staff was brilliant. I went the night before to deliver balloons etc and they could not have done enough to help. The food was decent and the all round atmosphere was very good. I would also like to say a special thank you to chris, she was truly amazing all night and did everything and more to ensure we hd a great night.

We were staying at the Best Western hotel adjacent to this restaurant and after reading the reviews we were to say the least a little dubious about trying it. However, after a tiring journey we did not feel like venturing too much further and decided to give it a try.......and we were pleasantly surprised! We were welcomed by a very friendly waitress, Nikki, and she could not have been more attentive...drinks orders were taken straight away and after ordering our meal we did not have to wait long for it to be served. The meal was hot, freshly cooked and perfectly tasty. We thought the meal was reasonably priced too at £50 for four main meals, two desserts and four drinks. The restaurant manager also chatted to the diners at every table. I would certainly revisit this restaurant if we were to stay at this hotel again.

We came here as a party of 11 for my sons 18th birthday. We had booked a table and was not disappointed. We had a long table all set out with banners and decorations. Drinks orders were slow to be taken so we had to make a few visits to the bar. Drinks quite pricey too. Food was nice but took a while to come. It was a busy night though with a couple of other parties too. Very nice lady manager. Ample parking too. Lovely decor very stylish and immaculate toilets.

Visited The Grill at 25 while staying at the Best Western opposite. The restaurant is modern and well decorated, but was really cold when I visited early evening.I had a starter and main course. The starter was a lamb kebab and was hideous. It had clearly been frozen and then microwaved. The texture was unpleasant and there was no flavour. I had a mixed grill with a side of onion rings for my main course. The meat was cooked incorrectly, the chicken overcooked and the steak undercooked. The steak was a really cheap fatty cut and the gammon was the saltiest piece of meat I have ever tasted, even for gammon. The chips weren't cooked properly and the onion rings looked fantastic, but were utterly tasteless.The food was a real disappointment, meaning I left a large part of the main course as it was very unpleasant. The bill was nearly £25 as well with only one pint, so it wasn't even a cheap meal. Avoid.

Judging by previous reviews- they must have been very unfair or this place has improved a lot because we thought it was great!Very very nice interior, and smart building- really well refurbished!Service was really good especially Abigail? the young blonde waitress who was very efficient, friendly, and hard working.Food of very good quality and everyone agreed was nice especially at such a good price. Long delay on food but given we were warned of the wait due to other groups, and that we were in fact a medium sized group ourselves, this wait was not unacceptable. Couple of things could be changed with regards to atmosphere e.g. music unnecessary, and bit chilly - however, we did not mention these to anyone.

What a shame. From the lobby of the Novotel across the road this place looked modern, inviting and a bit different to "hotel food". So on a bitterly cold night my son and I walked over the road and entered a trendy, good looking and modern eatery. It was fairly empty too. Knowing it was knocking on a bit timewise (9.15 pm) I asked the first waitress i saw if we should just sit down at an empty table. Her reply was a mumbled grunt as she waltzed by and into the kitchen. When she reappeared I asked her if she would repeat what she'd just said to which she responded "We stop serving at 9.30" in the bluntest uninterested way which was apparently her norm..to us at least!!She did point us to a table when I indicated we would be prompt in ordering, came back 2 minutes later with a "Whaddya want then". So we ordered straight of the menu, no special requests or anything and she said to my son when he ordered a burger special "Yeah well you would order that wouldn't you" as if to imply this was going to task the chef (sorry for chef read cook). Is that all ? was followed by us asking if we could order a drink.. Whaddya want came back again. And the evening wore on in the same vein.Food was OK..not great but edible and at 9.30 did the job. But this particular waitress clearly wanted to get home i guess.it's a shame as the £25 bill would normally have been topped to £30 to include a fiver tip....

I have never written a review before but I wanted to express our feelings at our recent visits to the Grill at 25. We live very near the restaurant and made sure that we visited the restaurant on its first opening night several months ago, we ordered chicken strips for starters, bearing in mind that these are small and thin, after tucking into them we noticed that they were raw!! How a chef cannot cook tiny chicken strips is beyond me!! We had another send out which where fine and carried on the night, several weeks later we visited again, this time, there version of a well done steak was rare! to sat this is a Grill they cannot cook steak how you want it, we recently went a third time, and ordered fajitas, when we finally got them after taking an hour and the restaurant was almost deserted, we found that it was cold and the wraps where rock hard, they did replace them but the staff are dipsey and they are incompetent staff!! We have tried the place three times and will never go back now, so I urge you to consider other local restaurants that are far far better!!

Well what can i say!!! On new yrs eve i popped in to book a table for the following sunday, i asked the lady if she would still be doing a christmas menu, but unfortunatley they had stopped doing them, i mentioned that my son was returning form afghan for a fortnight, without hesitation, she said in that case we can sort something out for you. When we returned on the sunday, the lady had done us proud, she had set the table, crackers, sequins, candles, the works!!! we had a wondeful time and she made it so special Sue at the grill at twenty five, if there weere more people like you around, the world would be a better place, thankyou x

What a fabulous night. The meal was excellent and really good value for money, just the right amount and served piping hot & very tasty. All the staff were very attentive and friendly - a special thanks to Chris & Jimmy who looked after us all so well. Cant wait to go again - in fact have just booked for the New Years Eve Gala buffet, which if it is as good as their Xmas party nights will be great fun. I would highly recommend this Restaurant to anybody, it is very tastefully decorated, friendly and great value for money.Thank you to all at The Grill @ 25.

Stayed at the adjoining Best Western and had a couple of drinks on the Thursday night which were not unreasonable as hotels generally are.Didn't eat dinner but breakfast was very good, hot and fresh even though it was self service.Would happily visit again.

My wife and I visited this restaurant in late September as our son was participating in a basketball tournament in Nottingham. We were staying at the Best Western hotel for the Saturday night.When we checked into the hotel, fairly late in the evening, it was obvious that the reataurant was busy so I asked and was advised that it was necessary to reserve a table.We returned at the agreed time and were shown to our table spot on time. The food was very good indeed, kind of up market pub/ grill, very well prepared and plentiful and reasonably priced as well.We were most impressed with the staff of Chris and her 2 other waitresses, all of whom seemed to operate at 100 miles per hour!In all my time, this is the only restaurant where all 3 waitresses checked that we had ordered and made sure that the service was attentive but not intrusive throughout our stay.The hotel breakfast is also served in the restaurant which is right next to the hotel and I am pleased to say that the same level of service was received and again, the food was very good indeed. We had to leave the hotel by 8.15 on the Sunday morning so were most pleased to find the restaurant open at exactly the hour of 7.30 am as advertised.All in all, our 2 visits to this restaurant were very enjoyable.

Myself and my husband attended a private party at the grill on saturday the 6th october. we stayed at the hotel and the arrived around 3pm. The party was not until the evening so we decided to have a bite to eat , we were greated by a young lady on arrival and were shown to our table , the restaurant was quite busy but this did not cause us a problem. The food arrived in good time and was very enjoyable. we enquired about the party that evening and we were shown the room where the party was to be held.After returning to our room to get changed we went to the venue for the party. At this time the main restaurant was very busy but as we were in a seperate room this created no problem to us. The room for the party was decorated lovely with ballons and party poppers. The service that we received whislt at the party was second to none, we were concerned at 1st as it appeared we only had a small bar with 1 member of staff, however we need not have been concened as that member of staff. lisa p, was fantastic. Everyone in the party was looked after by her, there was no waiting at the bar and even with all those people to look after she remembered what we were drinking, the tables were kept clear of glasses. An absolutley brilliant night , fantastic venue and absolutley brilliant service. We will deffinately look at this venue for any party's that we may have in the future.

We were staying in the Novotel opposite the Grill at 25 on Saturday 1st September and at 8.30pm, decided to get a quick bite to eat. The menu was comprehensive, had lots of choice and was a generic bar-type with the usual favourites such as burgers, curry, light bites etc so we were confident they would be able to offer us an easy meal to satisfy our appetites.On arrival we were met my an elderly waitress who seemed flustered and couldn't find us a table for 2. She told us several times that they had just seated a table of 13 and it was very busy. We were also told that we had to be out of the restaurant by 10.30pm (by this time it was only 8.45) and that there were 15 people who had to eat before us so we would "just have to wait" for our food. At this point we almost left there and then as it was clear we were unwelcome, however as it was getting late and we were hungry we decided to persevere. When we entered the restaurant and looked around, there were only actually 5 tables, with 4 waitresses to share the covers, and plenty of room to seat myself and my husband. Needless to say we were somewhat confused by all the panic by our arrival and my husband was not at all impressed by the service, or lack thereof. We regularly dine out and have been to a great many busier restaurants and could not fathom why the elderly waitress was being so rude and discouraging of us dining there that night.We ordered our drinks, which came swiftly, and shortly after another waitress came to take our food order. For starter we both ordered the nachos, one with chilli and one without. Main course was going to be a mixed grill and scampi and fries.The nachos were tasty and came with sour cream and guacamole seperate which was good and less messy. The portions were a good size for starter and again, we only had to wait 10 minutes before they brought it out.About halfway through my starter I came across a short black hair mixed in with the salsa. I told a nearby younger waitress who was very apologetic but I didn't ask for a replacement. Normally I am not very squeamish over food but this was the final straw and as we were both so disappointed by the terrible service and hygiene of the kitchens we decided to settle our bill there and then and leave. The younger waitress was very understanding and knocked my starter off the bill and we felt sorry for her as clearly not all staff had such a rude attitude to customers. As this restaurant is next to a motorway hotel I suppose it is unlikely that they will gain repeat business of regular patrons, however after our experience I would recommend a lovely fish and chip shop in Long Eaton which provided good clean food with staff who were more than happy to take your money off you!

We thought we would try out The Grill at 25 with it being on our doorstep.Turned out to be a really nice meal, the food was nice and was hot!The service was good, greeted and seated straight away, all drinks brought to our table etc. Very happy, will be returning again in the future.

Reading one or two negative reviews of the restaurant went for my meal along with 10 other friends with a little intrepidadation . Couldnt have Been more wrong. Greeted with pleasant but efficient staff was seated for a pre meal drink while our table finalised . After being seated at our table our waitress Chris made our night. A down to earth friendly person with nothing too much trouble. Our courses arrived with just enough time not to wait or fell hurried. The food had no complaints although the vegetarian options limited. All in all an enjoyable experience definately to be repeated.

On arrival we were greeted with a rather bossy unpleasant woman, "Have you booked", "Sorry no, should we have?", "It's advisable" (it was nearly empty?)We were shown to our table, the place is very clean, modern and nicely decorated.The waitress came to take our order, a smile would have been nice, clinical and frosty are words that come to mind.Had a reasonable wait for starters but was ok, the starters came and the three of us commented on the portion size, not great.An hour passed and we were then asked if we had eaten our starters! I enquired as to how much longer our main course would be. "I'm sorry but, you hadn't booked and I did accommodate you" was the reply!We cancelled our order, paid for the starters and drinks and left immediately.

First impressions count for everything, and I had two of The Grill at 25; lovely looking place (that actually made me feel rather under-dressed), and rude staff. The latter impression was made by the female greeter on the door, who after learning that we had not booked seemed strangely grieved to have to seat us in the very sparsely populated restaurant. There myself and my party exchanged mutual views of distaste regarding the manner in which we were 'permitted entry'. We proceeded to look at the menu which had a decent choice and nice layout, if perhaps a little pricey given what was essentially glorified pub food. The girl who then took our food & drink orders wasn't rude but neither did she make much of an effort with us, which (as I see it) is forgiveable if she takes our order correctly. I was slightly disappointed with the choice of drinks too, as my Father was denied his request for sparkling water, my brother was given only one choice of bitter, and myself only one choice of cider. When the drinks came however the two male waiters that came were extremely professional & well mannered. The starters we ordered came after a while and our first impressions of the adequately presented food was overshadowed by the size of the portions. The starter for two shared between my dad and brother could have been eaten by one of them, and my own starter of chicken tikka on a bed of lettuce would be more appropriately named 'shredded lettuce sprinkled with chicken'. The taste was average. Up to this point our experience of The Grill at 25 had been relatively good. After a wait of nearly an hour we were then asked if we had been given our starters yet. After another few minutes we asked the same lady that had greeted us at the door if our food would be much longer; a reasonable request given our wait. This was met with an insincere apology and a cold reminder that she had "accommodated us". Our following emotions were evenly split between shock and annoyance. We promptly vacated our seats and paid for the food and drink that did arrive, and then shown the exit with the courtesy and enthusiasm we should have been greeted with. The only reason for not giving 1/5 is the look of The Grill, the two lads who served our drinks, and our 3/5 starters. Replace 'grumpy woman' (as she became known), organise the kitchen and this could very well be a quality place.

Came here for some drinks after checking in at nearby Best Western hotel. Pint and a vodka came to £5.70 which isnt too bad. Sat outside in a nice outdoor area. Made a reservation for tea that evening. The decor in the restaurant is very modern and stylish with red and black themes and a large feature light which is quite cool. Menu had plenty of choice and was reasonably priced. Placed our order and starter was brought out extremely quickly. Main meals were brought out equally as quick. Portion sizes were good, so good value for money. We ate before 6pm so recieved 25% off our meals, this is valid Monday to Friday if you eat between 4-6. Meals were all enjoyed very much.

Visit this restaurant whilst staying locally. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was good with the exception that the music was to loud.The meals we ordered were very good, reasonably priced and served quickly. could not have asked for more.Perhaps we were there on a good night unlike previous reviewers.

Went to this restaurant as it was local, brand new & we'd been given a 2 for 1 voucher... Firstly, I tried to book a table (as it was a bank holiday Monday evening) but the telephone number on their voucher did not work, neither did their website so had no means of actually contacting them!On arrival we were asked if we had booked a table, to which I replied that we could not due to the number not working etc. I then asked if I could use the voucher, as I thought it might be excluded on a bank holiday... (later we found out it was actually 241 anyway but the manager failed to mention this?) There were only 3 tables occupied and 3 other couples waiting infront of us to be seated, we were told we had to wait half an hour because all the tables were booked! There were a few "why cant we just be seated" glances between the people waiting..We were finally seated after about 45 mins, given menus, both ordered burgers. With it being a 'grill' you'd expect a good burger but mine was very overdone, tasteless (apart from the chargrill) and dry, the cheese was melted to the bun which had also been burnt. As the waitress didnt ask me how I would like it cooked, I assume the burgers here are frozen & cooked from frozen. We were in the restuarant for about an hour and a half & only 2 more tables were filled in that time, still non the wiser as to why we waited so long. I spoke to the manager to give him some feedback as my food was inedible and asked if the burgers were frozen. He told me they were made by the chefs and became very defensive instead of just apologising. He argued with me about it which then made the situation a bit embarassing, his attitude was not needed.Needless to say, I will not be returning, even with a voucher!

Went for a nice meal .. Sat waiting for a table for half an hour in a half empty restaurant ... Still when got seated had to wait again .. Food was average .. Messed our bill up ..

Being very local we thought we would try this new restaurant on Tues 24th April. We arrived at about 6.30pm and saw about 4 tables were occupied.A waiter asked us to take a seat in the lounge area whilst a table was cleared??There were at least 6 or 10 tables already set. The waiter continued to serve amongst some confusion and complaints and did not clear any tables. No one offered us a drink or a menu.After more than 10 minutes of being totally ignored we left, again without being noticed.With this performance this restaurant will lose any local custom and have only the captive customers from the hotel

Didnt book a table and had to wait an hour BUT excellent food.. Fantastic steak which was cheap..! I have paid three times more for alot worse. The make over from the old place is excellent. Modern, comfortable.. Bar staff explained the difference between the JD's and remembered what i was going to order. Well done, i will be going back soon..

The food was great how ever....The girl behind the bar with the red hair and piercings is the WORST example of customer service i have seen.They serve Carlsberg and Carlsberg 'Cold' on draft. i ask for for 2 Carlsberg and was told ''Carlsberg has ran out and i cant be bothered to change the barrell is cold ok?''Later asked for 1 more round and was told by the same girl we were too late. 30 seconds later manager came over to ask us for last orders!Service is the most important thing in such an establisment...unfortunately it feels like they have employeed staff just to fill positions.

I ate here whilst still in the hotel next door. I turned up just before 9pm knowing the restaurant stopped taking orders at 9.30. I was shown to my table and then left. After 15 minutes I had to remind the staff I was there and could they take my order of a plain burger and wedges. When the food arrived I was presented with a mass market burger and potato wedges that were oozing oil. OK so was only £7 but I wish I had gone to the pub in one of surrounding towns.

I have visited the restaurant already thrice since it opened; all three times I stayed in the hotel next door and being a new restaurant right on the doorstep it would be daft if I didn't visit, especially after a very long working day.First impressions, the interior is nice and I would rather say tastefully decorated. What didn't click is the exaggerated persistence on having pre-booked a table; the first time I went there I was really left speechless when a couple next to me were told that they couldn't be served because all tables were booked. Well, I sat in the restaurant for an hour and I didn't see more than 50% occupancy throughout this time! Obviously the maitre got some rules wrong here: you do not turn clients away especially when the restaurant has just opened!In my first visit I ordered a half rack of ribs: disappointed to say the least, as the half rack was only 3 thin ribs! I started to worry what meat was I eatting! In my second visit I had a sirloin steak which was really small but of acceptable taste and in my third visit fajitas which were also acceptable. In general, the portions are rather frugal and although the prices are relatively competitive, they are still high for what is offered on the plate.Presentation of food on plate is good, so as the cutlery, plates, glasses.What seems to have improved between these visits is the service. In my first visit I thought I was invisible; they didn't even bother to ask me whether I wanted another drink which again does not make sense at all! Four waitors, 7 tables and not asking the most obvious, what invariably earns the restaurant its money! During one of my visits, I decided to have a pint at the bar and the bar tender rejected all 4 alternative beers I was calling for because they weren't available. Certainly you cannot impress and attract new customers with this attitude, standard of service and options.I gave it three stars (was originally considering two) because I can see that some improvement is being made. Certainly though they have a long way to go, if they want to stay in business. The owner/manager do need to have some serious chat with their staff if they wish to see people filling the restaurant to the point where a pre-booking can be really warranted!
