Chicken wings were amazing, the apple slaw went great with it!! Also the pepperoni pizza was 10/10… I would highly recommend it !! Service was incredible, Bea the manager made the experience even better !!

Unbelievably delicious meal! If I could eat the butternut squash and feta tortellini every evening for dinner it wouldn’t be enough! Fabulous service, amazing atmosphere, will definitely be back soon!

Long Eaton's hidden Jem. It's got the feel of a big city restaurant with its nice interior that blends into the age of the building. The restaurant itself is a nice and friendly place with good food and great friendly staff. It's a must try restaurant

Booked a date night for myself and my partner Ordered drinks it would have been quicker for me to get my own drinks from the bar Ordered chateaubriand for 2 of us to share + 2 sides and sauce + butter, Steaks we're supposed to come out with fries we had to ask for them and got told that we don't have fries with that ! Excuse me it says on the menu we do , they were the hottest thing that came out , we ordered 2 sides of celairiac dauphinours, I know exactly what celairiac tastes like and they was just potatoes! We complained and they gave us 25% discount absolutely terrible service and meal Don't waste your money Chef doesn't know what he's doing and service just stand around chatting Just got home not happy at all !!!

Visited on Friday night at 7pm, it was practically empty, but got put on a wobbly table right in front of the kitchen service. Waitress’s were OK, got asked the same question a couple of times by different people, and seemed put out we did not order starters or from the wine list. We ordered the chateaubriand for two people for £60, with chips, ‘seasonal’ veg, peppercorn sauce and Stilton sauce, which was included in the £60. When I say the portions were small, approximately between two people, there were 3 chips, 3 slices of steak, mushroom and a tomato each. Seasonal veg consisted of sugar snap peas and lettuce. The steak was OK but not for the price charged. Room was nicely decorated but felt cold in temperature and design. Overall disappointing.

I'd score zero if I could, we travelled for an hour after reading the reviews, the pasta tortellini was like chewing a piece of rubber and when my strawberry tart appeared they had margarine like substance on the top, dreadful disappointment, they whisked my dessert away and I didnt get another as apparently they'd already had complaints about it being overcooked and funny cream. Group of us came and unfortunately we won't be coming back. And yes we raised our complaint in a correct manner but literally gave us a free chocolate 🤣

Great food, great service and nice atmosphere

Unfortunately our meal was bland, lukewarm and greasy. It appears that the restaurant is under new management and the last time we dined there with the old management it was infinitely better. We booked an early time as we thought we'd get the freshest food but sadly we won't be going back. It looked as though there were a number of chefs being 'busy' but they're obviously not tasting the food or they wouldn't be sending it out lukewarm. It's a shame as that's another restaurant off our list - good local restaurants are becoming hard to find. We'll carry on visiting our favourites in Nottingham city centre

We read the reviews. We went along and tried. We were not disappointed ! My goodness ! We had starters a scotch egg and belly pork.. and thought wow were off to a great start these were no ordinary dishes. Then a chateaubriand. . I am not sure there are words fantastical enough to credit this dish with. And the peppercorn sauce mmmm... onto desert with a lemon cheesecake.. with a delicious candid peel. .. OK We thought, but the coffee that's got to be a regular cappuccino hasn't it? No, not in the slightest. Every single thing put in front of us was tantalising tasty. What a fantastic find. Sshhsh 🤫. don't tell everyone. 😊

Nice food. Could be bigger portions. Pork belly. Just that really. Nicely done but simple. Beef duo. Rib excellent, but smallish. Cottage pie served in a container. Not much else on the plate. Diced beef in pie, not enough of it. Cheesecake was more of a biscuit with a sauce on top. Needed a fork to break it up. Room is big, not very personal. Staff seemed to be in a hurry, but cocktails still took 10 - 20 minutes to appear. The disco in the room above was just about audible towards the end of the meal. Maybe we were spoilt by our recent visit to Spain where quality and service are good in even the smallest, cheapest places. £175 for 3 people is an awful lot of money, and while that is fine for some celebrations it does need to be a step above the ordinary. This place is, but not enough of a step.

Exceptional! My husband,Mother-in law & I have just had a Sunday lunch at The Butcher in Long Eaton. Food outstanding, big portions, beautifully cooked, hot, an actual gravy boat, not a sample sized drizzle! Cotton napkins & a big bowl of cauliflower cheese for us all to dig into. The Staff are so welcoming, calm & happy. It really comes over that they all enjoy working there. Very organised & smooth running of the whole place. It is not over stimulating- by this I mean loads of noise, loud music, over crowded, stressed staff, waiting for ages etc. No it is the exact opposite- it feels like you have gone round to their house & are all just one big happy, full family. I cannot recommend it enough & the price for what you got - well I don’t know how they do it. Just Amazing. A Huge Well Done to everyone who is part of the team, you’re doing everything perfectly- don’t change. Thank you 🙏 Hels

Visited on a Saturday night with my wife and daughter aged 12. Well, what can I say… the service was excellent, friendly, attentive- but not overly done, the chateaubriand was unreal, soft delicate and delicious. I’ll be venturing more and more into this place

The food is amazing! Brilliant quality, filling and the flavours work together well. It's always a good sign when the food makes everyone go quiet. The selection of drinks is eclectic and excellent quality. The staff were so attentive, welcoming and genuine. I even overheard a lovely interaction between a member of staff and someone's child. Definitely recommend eating here.

We have been regular customers for years the food is outstanding not only in the quality of the steak but the whole meal this includes the sunday dinner which is a must. And the pizza evening on a Wednesday is fantastic value The staff are amazing professional and friendly it’s rare to find people now days that actually care about the role that they perform. We came across this steakhouse just by chance after the gym and omg what a find. We had the chateaubriand steak for 2 and just wow maybe the best steak ever, truffle butter and the nicest triple cooked chips. Honestly everything was just perfect the decor, the staff, my mouth is watering just thinking of coming back.

Called in here for the Wednesday night pizza deal. Had a beer whilst waiting for the takeaway pizzas. Friendly, happy staff Good sized, stone baked pizzas. Excellent pizza and excellent value.

There was a lot of us, unfortunately it reminded of a Christmas dinner where there having to cater for a lot of people, meal cold and underwhelming, but lovely place, service was the best service we have ever had anywhere, staff were lovely, will come back and hope we have a better experience with the food.

Service and atmosphere are great and whilst the steak (rib eye) looked to be cooked ok, the steak was a bit on the tough side. Don't know if it needed more resting or was just a sub par bit of meat to start with but it was a shame as the rest of the evening was great

The food and service were excellent and had a great time at the Butchers! We ordered the beef duo, this consisted of: Rump steak(blue) which cut like butter, mini feather blade steak pie which had a smokey flavour and was great with the accompanying red wine jus. The dauphinoise potatos were well cooked but kept their structure. The red cabbage ketchup, served with the above dish, had an interesting sweet raw vegetable taste which perhaps didn't go as well with the others, but maybe if it was reduced further with caramelised onion it could bring it closer to the rest of the meal. We also ordered the beef burger which was very well cooked and delicious and could sit well amongst the best burgers we've had. The mac and cheese (with a mild non salty cheese -maybe gouda?- ) provided a balance for the salt based foods. The beef dripped Chips were the highlight of the evening, soft and fluffy on the inside and crunchy and sticky on the outside. They also appeared triple cooked so had that extra crunch! Service was excellent and bar was accommodating when asked for specific off menu cocktail. Dessert (apple crumble tiramisu) was unusual but nice blend of apple and coffee. I think the flavours could be enhanced further with different medium choices but as an experimental combination it was really good. All in all an excellent experience and really look forward to coming back soon! Thank you to all for such an amazing experience.

Brilliant out of the way coffee, breakfast, and cake place( Cleaver Coffee ). Quiet in here when I visited 1.40pm... But, that helped me concentrate on my e-mails on my mobile. I had a delicious slice of blueberry & lemon cake , and a cappucino....😋😋...lol... It is in the same building as "The Butchers Bar & Steakhouse"..... The opening times for the coffee bar are from 9.00am Mon - Sunday.... Apparently 'Sunday Lunches' upstairs are legendary....🌟🌟😍😍😍

As you can imagine the steal was good. The accompanying food (salad and chips avarage).I was disappointed by the decor, a bit canteen like, not at all cosy or luxurious. Nice enough food but wouldn't go again.

We had a table booked on a Saturday evening for 19.30. We arrived late at 19.40. We were seated and had our drinks order taken. On the drinks arriving, we were told there would be a longer wait due to 2 large tables being in. We waited until 20.20 with no food order being taken and we'd finished our drinks. There was one person working the front do house on their own and they were honest and polite. Sadly we walked out without eating. Don't know what staff were behind the scenes, but I don't feel like our table reservation should've been accepted when they didn't have the capacity to deal with us. Nice restaurant, liked the atmosphere, but would not book again on a weekend evening. At 20.25 we went across the road to the French Restaurant, La Crepier Papin, and had a much better experience. Wine was good, but sadly disappointed overall.

Great food, service and time had

We came for a date night and as always, absolutely fantastic night! Exceptional service and we were waited on hand and foot. We’ve come a few times now and it’s always been really good. We were served by Hope and she was lovely and really added the final touches to a great date night!

What a shame how this has gone downhill in the last 18 months. Came Oct 2022 and the meal was fantastic. Came again today. I appreciate it is a steak house but it does advertise vegan options and last time the meal was amazing. This time ordered meze starter. The waitress wasn't sure what was vegan on it and what wasn't , which was fine , but when she came back after checking , still wasn't sure. In the end ,I was told I couldn't have the yogurt or bread , but was offered ciabatta instead which was fine. When it came , it was a spoon of avocado hummus with a slice of ciabatta and some seeds. I asked where the chickpeas were and was told it was badly worded on the menu, there were not any . Obviously I am aware hummus is made with chickpeas but it was definitely showing as avocado hummus and chickpeas as seperate items. Great. The same price but for half the starter! I ordered vegan celeriac for main and asked for the vegan Mac n cheese as it was advertised. The waitress said she wasn't sure if I could have this. She came back and said it would just be pasta with some vegan cheese sprinkled on it. When the meal came , I asked if the gravy was vegan ( as again is advertised with meal.) Again she wasn't sure. The meal was lukewarm when it arrived. It was such a long wait to find about the gravy I went to the kitchen to ask. The potatoes before were delicious and plentiful. This time , a couple of small spuds hiding under one strip of carrot and one strip of parsnip ( I think ) all of the veg on the table was cooked in butter and no other veg was offered. Delicious 18 months ago . Such a shame it has declined so much. I had no confidence in eating here this time as no confidence answers were given . The meals on the menu for vegans are not provided once ordered, sadly , unlike before. The potatoes and the Mac and cheese were worth going back for alone. Not anymore! Disappointed as was really looking forward to it.

Came for dinner with my mum New Year’s Eve, although I’ve been before not been for a while, service was exceptional again as was the food. This place is a true credit to long Eaton.

Fantastic food and service. Table booked for 7.30 but arrived early, waitress was happy to sit us at our table 20mins early. Gave us plenty of time to look at the menu before taking our order. Food was freshly prepared & brought our promptly. Quality was outstanding. Will definitely be looking at eating here again.

Visited here for a date night with the missus. After all the Christmas shopping, etc, we wanted some time for us. First time for either of us visiting here, and it certainly won't be our last. The service was immaculate, and the timing between starter and main courses was perfect. The food itself was cooked perfectly and at a very high standard. Prices were extremely reasonable given the quality, quantity, and overall taste of each dish. It's the first time in a long time where we've had to admit defeat and say no to the dessert menu. I strongly recommend the pork belly for starters and the lamb for the main.

Wonderful Sunday lunch 😋 nice service .

I am so so disappointed from our visit to the butchers this weekend. This was our 2nd visit, if I was to rate our first visit it would be 5* across the board. This visit was absolutely terrible, we booked a table for 5pm and on arrival the restaurant was totally empty. After a few minutes only 3 other tables were seated. They sat us in a line across the back booth, the silence was so uncomfortable and the place was freezing. We had to ask to make orders as the servers were not to standard. We were told that a number of dishes were not available, and when food arrived there was an error with the side dishes, and when corrected were very late to the table and again not to standard. The worst part of all of this experience is that my partner was drinking 0% beer topped with lemonade, the 2nd drink arrived and we noticed that it was in fact alcohol after consuming. This was totally inexcusable, and no effort was made to apologise for this error. 1 hour and 10 minutes after sitting down to our table, staff were gathered around the bar waiting to go home with coats and bags on, the lights were flickered on and off to notify closing, and even turned off in the toilets which were being used by some of our party! When we arrived we were not told that they were closing and to be aware of the timings. For a very very expensive dining experience this level of service is simply unacceptable.

Just got to say what a great night we had food spot on and drinks were great Simon could not do enough for us and was very helpful. Just a great place to be and the best in long Eaton

Amazing Sunday lunch. Great service. Only negative was it was so noisy!!!

Over the last few years I have enjoyed a Sunday lunch at this converted warehouse restaurant. This time we both ordered the Roast Beef and trimmings. One with cauliflower cheese and one with mac and cheese. The beef was not good quality and the two pieces were sliced very thinly. This was, in this case, good as it was tough and stringy to cut. The vegitables were too al dente and required the cerated knife to cut them and we had to send back the cauliflower cheese as it was cold and lacking enough cheese. It was very sad to see the decline in quality and standard of cooking. The only thing that remained good was the service.

Honestly was not really impressed at all this visit. Had gone October 2022 and was super impressed so decided to take my boyfriend as a congrats for getting a new job as he loves steak. Our table was not ready when we arrived dead on time, not great but not the end of the world. The starters were bad, no other way about it. Over £10 for the bruschetta which consisted of rock hard bread (honestly I was worried I was going to break something accidentally while exerting so much force to cut through it) 4 cherry tomatoes, a small ball of cheese and a small amount of pickled onion. The mezze was also not amazing. Mains wise they had completely ran out of pizza on a Saturday night? So as a veggie my options were suddenly very limited. I don't understand how you can run out of an entire section of a menu? It seems like extremely poor preparation. Imagine if they ran out of all the steak? I was able to have a gluten free pizza but these bases were clearly premade with toppings from a jar and may as well have gone to a shop and bought a better pizza for half the price. My boyfriend described his steak as 5/10. Also ordered Mac and cheese, this didn't turn up until I chased it. We also love dessert but were so depressed following everything else that we just paid and left. I was so bummed out as this was meant to be a nice treat but everything was so bad it would put me off from returning.

Table of 10 went on a Saturday night, We had to pre order our food and 7 of them had steaks, all of them were over cooked and sides were cold. One person had a pizza, it was burnt and had barely any cheese, another had a salad, the salad actually looked very nice and another had lamb belly, when this was served we all laughed it looked like a mini pork pie, not filling at all. All members of staff were running round the building like there arses were on fire. One was a women, she was pretty much sprinting around and running into people, made me feel very uncomfortable. Not one member of staff asked if we wanted drinks, we had to go to the bar every time. No one asked if our food was ok or if we wanted any sauce etc. Won't be going back, not sure what it is but can't seem to find any good restaurants at the moment.

I went here for the first time a couple of weeks ago and I loved the place, the atmosphere, the people, the food. Today, for the second time, and I got the same feeling, perfect place to meet your friends for a conversation, to spend some good time, to relax, to have a good coffe, good food, delicious cakes and they even organise events, they have lovely brochures with informations about it. The staff is lovely and helpful. Definetely I will go again 😊👏

This is the place to get a good steak washed with a wine or beer,by preference or a fresh pizza in a wooden burning stove !

Sunday lunch was awful. Curled up fatty meat which was supposed to be medium sirloin, Very disappointed.

Had a fantastic Sunday lunch here today. Meat and veg were cooked perfectly, and service was attentive. Love the upmarket industrial feel to the restaurant, will definitely be back!

Good menu. Went with a mate. Both ordered fillet; his medium rare, mine rare. The medium-rare came out more like rare but exactly what my mate was looking for. My rare first came out more like medium or medium to well done! Sent it back for a replacement and what came back was more like blue. Conclusion: Some chef’s don’t know how to cook steak so be careful what you order. Staff were friendly and no problem replacing the fillet. The Sunday lunch looked good so may go back and give that a go instead.

Fantastic food, sophisticated ambience and well-presented, polite staff. Lots to choose from at the bar for a drink afterwards from a knowledgeable barman (no hand pumps however). Nice to see a local business recognise and promote "Long Eaton, Derbyshire", too!

Food was OK, mac and cheese dry and lacked flavour. Steak and sauce was nicest part. Service bit slow. Atmosphere very loud couldn't hear myself think.

Absolutely superb menu, with the meat cooked to perfection and an excellent wine selection. Because of the high ceilings, it can a get bit noisy but there is plenty of space between tables to ensure privacy - just don't talk too loudly!

Came here for Valentines Day and the food was amazing! Very well presented with good flavour and was just the right amount. I would highly recommend!

Went in for the Jan early bird set Menu. I was disappointed to find out the chicken and salmon were not available (the dishes I wanted) and there was not an additional alternative. Ended up going from a cheap early bird meal to having a sharing platter which was amazing. Service was great, will certainly be coming back for this again....!

Fantastic industrial aesthetic, greeted straight away with a smile and seated prompt. All of the staff seemed happy to be there and were more than polite. The food and prices were excellent - we paid £60 in all for three beautifully tender steaks between the two of us, complete with unique sides, and equipped with drinks. I'd love to come back and plan to visit again. Recommended.

Great food every time, never disappointed!

Had the most lovely festive experience at the Butchers Bar and Steakhouse. The food was amazing I had the Scallop’s for my starter and the Sea Bream for my main and I couldn’t fault it, I finished each course wanting more! Me and my sister had the best cocktails too, 100% recommend Foreign Shores it’s the best take ever on a Piña Colada! The staff out front and behind the bar were amazing they all looked after us and made us feel right at home.

Very disappointing. Despite all the great reviews, our experience was quite the opposite. Reception and Service was very good, the starter was really tasty so I bumped it up to 2 stars. We were a party of six, 4 of whom had various steak options. The steaks were not good, no flavour, small portion, overcooked and overpriced. Very underwhelming. 1 person had a pizza which looked like it had zero toppings bar a few small mushrooms. Don't think we will be returning anytime soon.

The initial greeting was perfect, the food was perfect and the service was exceptional. I can highly recommend more than most other, higher priced steak restaurants.

I came here for a Sunday lunch with my mum and I'll definitely be returning! There was a huge range of choice on the menu, I got the sirloin from the Sunday lunch menu and it was delicious. The staff were all really friendly and attentive and the overall atmosphere was inviting. The restaurant also has a fab bar, and the lovely bartender made me a really nice cocktail - I don't remember the name of it... but I do know it tasted great! I'll definitely be back again soon,.

I was very disappointed by our experience. I called an hour before to say we may be 30 mins early which we were advised would be fine. When we arrived the lady at reception said they just needed to clear our table. We then waited for 50 minutes without being spoken too. Finally we had to walk up to ask what was going on as none of the service staff would even look at us. We were then told our table was actually ready and upon walking through there were many free tables. The staff didn't offer any explanation or apology for the length of our wait. The service at our table was also strange, there just seemed to be no friendliness and nobody would maintain eye contact. It was all very strange. The actual food itself was okay, but the service I would say was the worst I can remember anywhere. There just seemed to be no communication or friendliness, essentially we felt unwelcome. I did try to reach out to the restaurant but didn't get a response. Undoubtedly the worst service I have experienced in many years.

Great food, great atmosphere, just what we needed in Long Eaton

Really not sure how people give this place such good reviews? Other than the staff being friendly and decor being nice, that's where the 'good' ends. Been a few times now and the food has been bad. The quality of ingredient is there, but the chefs don't know how to cook! I've had over done steaks and tiny/ burnt pizzas a number of times. I won't be going back and I won't be recommending to anyone.

My goodness! When I drove up to this amazing place, I had my reservations, but as witnessed by the photos below, they didn’t last long. Superb food, attentive servers, excellent host. Ok, it’s not cheap, but my goodness it is worth it. We will be back, probably very soon! Can recommend the steak flight and roast lunches.

Regularly go to The Butcher's for Sunday lunch and it's always a hit. Good portions of delicious roast meat (choice of meats), interesting selection of veg and Yorkshire Puddings. Other items available from the main menu too (except for pizza which is only available on Friday and Saturday). Relaxed atmosphere and good service. However, visited with family on a Friday night and although steaks and pizza were high quality and cooked perfectly it was so noisy as there was live music in the bar next door that it was hard to enjoy the meal and we just wanted to get out of so we could hear ourselves again. Definitely will be back but probably not on a Friday.
