The Butchers Bar and Steakhouse in Erewash

Food was a let down. Expected big things.As we had read some reviews ahead of booking for works meal out. Steaks were not great.!! mine was supposed to be well done, this was not the case. Costs high compared to quality. Fair options available of steaks but certainly not adequately cooked for any member of our party, We had a fair few of us. Squid not crispy as described bar 3 tiny pieces. This was across the board of those who ordered. The chicken wings were a hit though! Yay! DESSERTS ... HMMM such a limited menu... what happened there? choice of how many? Perhaps this needs a revision. So staff. They were great upon arrival. Great with cutlery sets etc. Ordering drinks/food. Served the starters- check back on starters. all good . Mains came out. Everyone's eating.- no check backs until almost people had cutlery / napkins back on plates and were chatting away. That's a Fail. Then plates cleared asked about the minimal dessert menu order and asked us to move to the bar area as they needed the tables for the group. . I don't think any of group will return for food .

We’d been lucky enough to enjoy a few amazing meals here before lockdown but Covid scuppered 3 bookings. So we were delighted when were finally able to attend our reservation (I mean REALLY delighted!). The service was as excellent as ever, the team engaging and attentive – but genuine. The menu had been enhanced, and the quality of the food and drinks upheld. On top of the amazing steaks, a great ‘cherry’ for us is the fabulous cocktails to finish.We’ll be back . . . very soon.

So this takeaway lockdown business has been so hit and Miss and not cheap to have! So much so we have opted for cooking a variety of dishes ourselves because we are fed up with expensive rubbish takeaways!!!HOWEVER!!!! .....Takeaway Pizzas from The Butchers Bar are a different matter!!! Ordered 6 pizzas, 3 chips a garlic bread which all arrived piping hot and all tasted delicious! This is the 2nd order too, so it wasn’t a fluke - they just serve good food at a reasonable price!

Well, this place came highly recommended so, having booked nearly a week in advance (due to high demand) food was slightly disappointed with the outcome. We ordered four deliveries in total, one of which was burnt. This should NEVER happen with Pizzas that are being delivered. It was a basic Cheese & Tomato pizza so not hard to get right. For that reason alone we’ll probably never go back despite this being quite a convenient place to eat. The pepperoni pizza was also slightly on the well done side and not as doughy as we had hoped. The other two, Surf and Turf, and Steak & Blue Cheese were good but not incredible. Overall feeling slightly underwhelmed given the hype.

Lock down 2.0, look no further. Another strings been added to the already extensive bow. Steak coffee & now pizza. We had take out pizza for the 1st time & being outside the delivery area I must say it was worth the drive. The flavours are no joke, so nice. All the ingredients in the no8 are a delight individually & combined. Cajun fries are & the biggest complaint of all is The finished her entire surf & turf pizza which is un heard off. She openly admits she’s not a fan of pizza usually. Well definitely be back for more. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Had such a good time at the butchers bar on the Wednesday before lockdown. The staff are always incredible the food was fantastic. The evening was perfect. I couldn’t ask for a better evening. Take a bow. You should be very proud of the team.

Thank you for a wonderful birthday meal. Fantastic, amazing food with wonderful service in a relaxed unpretentious atmosphere. Some of the best plates of food ever eaten - the Halloumi starter is to die for and the Shallot and red wine sauce a must with any steak. Our first visit was at new year and so glad to be back again. Looking forward to our next visit. Well spaced tables, all precautions taken and felt very safe. Cannot recommend highly enough.

This is our 4th Visit and as always didn't disapoint. Today I had the roast sirloin beef Sunday lunch which was very tasty and filling. Out with a family of 5 and all enjoyed their meal. Would highly recommend, well done Butchers Bar. All the best in this Covid era!

Delicious Sunday lunch - roast beef and all the trimmings. There was a choice of how you wanted your beef - pink in my case, and it was beautifully tender. Good selection of vegetables to accompany the beef. As I’m not a huge fan of gravy, there’s a bonus point for the gravy being on the side - but for those that like it there was plenty. My only criticism was I didn’t have room for a pudding - must pace myself next time!

We went to The Butchers Steakhouse for a birthday meal.We had a great evening and would highly recommend it. The venue was spotless and the decor is really nice, but most importantly the food was so so good - best teak I've had. Loved it.

First up, I had the most delicious steak of my life here! The Onglet is absolutely incredible and I dream of it all the time. I had the mac & cheese to accompany it but it didn't blow my mind, it was a bit bland and would've been great if the sauce was thicker. The Sunday roasts are also amazing! Unfortunately anything else is a bit of a disappointment. My husband had a veggie risotto (as a vegetarian he wouldn't opt to visit a meat restaurant but that day he was outnumbered by meat eaters!) and he said it was cold and had no seasoning. Very pricey for what it was, this is the same with the desserts. Not that great and very overpriced. If it wasn't for the eat out to help out scheme, breakfast wouldn't be worth it's usual prices. Everything here is overpriced really and the portions/taste of things doesn't match up. I am obsessed with the steak but I would only ever visit here again for a treat. Alcohol is quite overpriced too.The staff are very friendly and helpful though which is fantastic and the restaurant is covid secure!

Came with my wife for a very rare date night , definitely COVID aware , great food and served by brilliant staff , we will definitely return when another date night should arise . Thanks guys 👍

Really good food. went on a sunday but fancied steaks as opposed to roast. we had a fillet and sirloin on the bone, both were great. Roast dinners coming out of the kitchen looked really nice aswell . My son had fish new potatoes and peas which he enjoyed and was plated very nicely which is a touch you often dont see in a child's plate. Two puds banana bread and the brownie again really lovely. All topped off with great service. It is great value for the quality of service and the cuts offered cooked that well both exactly as asked. will be going back for one of those Sunday dinners! And more steaks! Blue moon on draft also an unexpected treat. Big thanks to the kitchen and front of house who create the experience.

Another visit to The Butcher’s, another fantastic meal! This place never disappoints. We both had the bavette steak which was perfectly cooked and full of flavour and the side of stilton mac and cheese is to die for. The staff were all warm and accomodating, no request was too much hassle for them! Irrevocably the best steakhouse around!

I have to say the food was outstanding as well as the service. Not being from Nottingham this was highly recommended by our friend. We came on a Saturday night and were seated by a lovely waitress. I had the brie for starters and the fillet steak. The steak was cooked perfectly.

Yummy Sunday lunch - roast beef for me and roast chicken for my better half. Both beautifully cooked and the sides were delicious too.Not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for.Big airy room and the tables are well spaced out, so about as COVID safe as it gets. Sanitiser on the way in and everyone kept their distance, which was nice. Shame you have to add stuff like this in a review, but these are the times we find ourselves in!

Had a fabulous steak sunday lunch with all the toppings. The steak was cooked to perfection, a huge yorkie pud, divine roasties with 3 types of veg. Topped of by a rich red wine gravy - AMAZING. All for £15 per person.We collected this due to the COVID 19 situation but have to say the team and the food were blooming brilliant and will certain visit again when we're back to some sort of normal. Fabulous place

This was the first time we have visited The Butchers. It is s nicely decorated restaurant in an old industrial building. I had a Bavette steak - soaked inbmustard seeds. It was simply one of the bestcsteaks I have ever had. Good beer too!

In recent weeks we have been recommended two steakhouse this and miller&Carter so I have waited till we had been to both before writing a review, and this steakhouse far exceeded the other the food was far superior tastier , the staff were very welcoming and friendly if your looking for cheap go to hungry horse if your looking for quality and real satisfaction come here we loved it

Fantastic meal here yesterday with family enjoying some great starters of a bread board, peppers, olives and pork scratchingMain courses were just as varied for those not all about the steak. Fish, fish burgers, a pork Sunday lunch and veggie pasta were all enjoyed Travelled up from South East to meet parents from the North East seeing them half way at the nearby Novotel. This was a lucky find for a January get together

Another great quality meal at The Butchers in Long Eaton.Although they are mainly known for steaks, there are also many other options on the menu - pastas, burgers, chicken etc.The burgers were nice and juicy, and the fries were to die for - well cooked with a bit of spice.Desserts also good, and service very friendly ans helpful. Prices are pretty reasonable and atmosphere is good when it is full.Well worth a visit

I visited on Saturday evening with my wife and some friends, we only booked late Saturday afternoon and when we arrived the restaurant was clearly quite busy which is always a good sign when you are trying somewhere new for the first time, We arrived and were welcomed into the bar area for pre dinner drinks which were very well made cocktails, our planned dinner time came and past without us realising as we were happy chatting and enjoying the drinks, once we noticed the time we asked the Bar staff how much longer for a table, after 2 mins they came back very apologetic saying that some tables had over ran but we would be seated within 10 mins.We were all quite relaxed about the delay and didn't make a fuss but were delighted when the Bar man told us he had wiped the pre dinner drinks in the Bar from the bill to make up for the delay.The food was top class as was the service, getting things right 100% of the time is not necessary when the staff are empowered to look after their customers, I am more likely to recommend this place now than I would have had the meal gone to plan

Very nice steak my friend said the fish pie was excellent. The atmosphere of the restaurant was really nice and the staff very welcoming. The 25% Wednesday-Friday 12pm-5pm was an unexpected surprise and made it reasonable priced. Would definitely recommend

We came here to enjoy a nice dinner date on a Sunday afternoon, I did leave a little disappointed and not sure we will return. We had already looked at the menu online before our visit.Unfortunately as we were given the menu we were told only 1 of the chicken starters left - I tried to order this but it managed to sell out in a matter of 2 minutes when it came to the order however no new customers had come in? My husband loved his black pudding and mushroom starter. The mains - my husband again selected his t-bone steak, really enjoyed how it was cooked - delicious taste to it, can not fault it. Again my first choice was not available- sadly this seemed to be the theme of the evening. I did however enjoy my 2nd choice steak and agreed it was cooked perfectly for the cut. We didn’t have desert as quite frankly I didn’t want to select an option in case I was told they didn’t have it. The price for deserts also seemed quite extortionate. The place was quite nice albeit very empty, massive area with only a handful of couples dining. The staff were pleasant. The bill was really quite high considering we only had 1 starter and 1 alcoholic drink, 2 soft drinks and 2 steaks. For the cost of the bill I did not leave feeling as impressed as I feel I should and have left many other restaurants feeling. Such a shame because the steaks were lovely and it is so local to us, unsure if we should return.

My partner and I more or less randomly went into Long Eaton and found this restaurant on TripAdvisor. We were not disappointed, as the service was good, a bit rushed, but perfectly friendly and answering all our queries. The food was amazing, high quality, not too much fanciness, still creative. I ordered the Proper Pork Scratchings and then a burger, swapping the chips with (the more expensive) seasonal greens - no problems at all. We were both super happy with the food, it was delicious! I would definitely go again. The only awkwardness was that we were seated in the bar area, because "the restaurant area was full". As we were the only ones seated in the bar area, wearing walking clothes and wet boots from the flooding that day, we kind of guessed that this was not completely true. We were okay with sitting in the bar area, as it was quieter and more intimate, but this lie was unnecessary.

Booked a table for 7 people and not all arrived together but they were happy for us to wait in the bar area before being seated. Very friendly atmosphere and good surroundings. Food was amazing! All steaks cooked perfectly and accompaniments were great. Meals weren’t too big or overpriced for the quality and drinks were also reasonable. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the evening and would return. Staff were helpful and attentive. Couldn’t fault it!

Love your food, good steak by all account . Highly recommended. Good portion size, friendly service. We will be back .

This is the second time I have visited The Butchers and I was not disappointed. Really great food and atmosphere. There is a separate bar area if you wish to just go for drinks but I highly recommend you try the food.

Another fabulous meal at Butchers. Cannot praise this place enough for its amamzing food, wine and atmosphere. Both myself and my husband had the roast sirloin and it was delicious. Wine was lovely and very reasonably priced. If you haven't been you are missing out!!!!

Excellent. Food, service and surroundings. The restaurant is lovely. Really spaced out tables which makes a huge difference. We felt that we could sit back and really relax. The staff were so attentive. Again it’s the little things but they make a huge difference. Taking our coats, greeting us warmly and allowing us to take our time throughout our time in restaurant. The food is just amazing!!! So much food but cooked well and really tasty. It’s was my first visit to The Butchers today but I will be back. It’s a firm favourite. Well done to all the team there. I shall be shouting great things about this new found favourite.

First visit to the Butchers, and was impressed. Set in what looks like an old mill, the restaurant is decked out in an industrial style, with exposed brickwork and light cords. One part is laid out as a bar area, with a separate dining room.

We had heard of this place, but didn’t quite know where it was as it’s hidden at the rear of the main high street. Easy to find though and plenty of parking spaces nearby, we arrived and asked for a table (hadn’t booked) and were in luck as it was early evening and not too many people at the place. We were offered drinks and given menu and decided on wine and a choice of three beef steaks, marinated in different sauces - served with Chips/Mac & Cheese. Service was excellent - friendly and efficient staff and the setting was relaxing with great music playing and lovely large industrial feel with nice touches and ambient lighting throughout. Loved the meal and food was cooked at medium request, however in reality it was on the side of rare which was ok for myself but border line for the wife ! Wine was gorgeous - Chardonnay and prices for what we received were considered fair value with bill coming in at around £60.00 for two. Overall a great eatery and one we would visit again. Nice one.

Went for a 40th meal. The food was terrible. 3 slices of meat (served cold) frozen (but cooked) roast potato's,(aunt bessies at the best ) veg over cooked and the gravy was like water.I left most of it. Will never go back

Came here with my wife for a meal to celebrate our 5th Wedding Anniversary. The place looks amazing with a nice ambience. The menu was great and I struggled to decide which steak to choose as they all sounded great. In the end I chose the onglet and my wife plumped for the rump. Without doubt some of the best steaks I ever had. Melt in the mouth and flavoursome. All in all we had a great night. Thank you.

Have been recommended this place by family and had very high expectations for it. Unfortunately it did not meet them. Maybe I choose wrong cut of steak but I found it chewy. One thing I leaked there was choice of beers:))

We didn’t have a lot of choice on a Sunday evening but stumbled upon this little gem. Great bar, very polite and attentive staff. Initial impression was very positive. The menu was great. Lots of choice for the adults and kids. The food was really fantastic! Burgers, chicken and steaks cooked to perfection. Sides were flavorful and the portions were perfect. The fish pie got multiple thumbs up. Clotted ice cream....need I say more?!

My sister, baby and I went to the Butchers today for Sunday dinner as we haven’t been in a while. On previous occasions we’ve always had really good food and service but today neither was the case.

Really nice steaks I had a bone in sirloin and it was cooked perfectly my partner had a denver again perfectly cooked, service good a very enjoyable evening, I oredred a beer and it was a little sour however it was changed immediately and there is a really good selection on offer.i would recommend. although it may appear a little pricey but it was actually good value for the offering.

We weren't sure what to try so opted for the steak flight (3 different steaks) which were excellent. I would also recommend the espresso brownies.

My sister and I met to have lunch at Butchers. We really enjoyed the food and the ambience. During our stay we briefly chatted to a lovely lady who was about to drive home to London. Shortly after, my sister and I decided to leave the restaurant and asked for our bill. We were told that the lady we had spoken to had settled out bill. What a lovely kind gesture. On behalf of both of us we would like to say a VERY BIG THANK YOU.

Let’s see how can we describe this place, on arrival we found ourself walking down a very uninspiring road, with little but the boards of the restaurant to stand out for character.

We had the at sharing main meal, we had it cooked to medium. Served perfectly, good sized portion. Staff friendly and efficient.

Get yourself there now! We can’t afford to loose such incredible places, food and produce. One of the best roast dinners ever! Amazing wine. Got food cooked perfectly. Pink beef cooked perfectly.

We have been to this place for Sunday lunch several times and we have never been let down by the fantastic food and really good service and the lovely ambience.

This is the third time I have come to this warehouse restaurant for Sunday lunch. Once you can find it and get through the entrance you'll love it. The decor is acceptably industrial and the service is good. It isn't that cheap BUT who cares when it is this good. A plate of roast sirloin of beef and a pork roast comes in at £15 each. Enjoy the photos as they speak for themselves - you will be forgiven for dribbling. Yes, of course, I'll be back.

Very disappointed with the quality of food served and the slow service.

Perfectly, juicy prepared steak, and perfect, crispy pom fritte, fries. The interior is very calming in neutral notes and loads of natural wood, very nice dinner, romantic and the menu is brilliant.

just sensational, The ladies toilets were really clean. For the dinner, the cote de beouf was immaculately good and I will certainly be returning in the near future with my wife. All brill and simply brilliant, kind regards and my greatest respects.

What a brilliant discovery by our son. The food was amazing and all the staff were very friendly, helpful and courteous throughout our visit. We pre ordered a fore rib of beef to be cooked medium rare. It was carved at our table side and there were copious amounts of roast potatoes and seasonal vegetables along with enormous Yorkshire Puddings. Competively priced and an excellent choice of gins at the bar too. Good wine and cocktail menu too. Worth a visit but need to book well in advance for a Sunday

Visited without booking, as we always said we would visit for the past two years. Very friendly welcome and we sat and ordered. Food was fantastic, best steak we have had for years. Both steaks were melt in the mouth. Beautiful! Can’t recommend this place enough!

4 of us went to the Butchers to celebrate my daughter getting her postgraduate degree.

First time at this place so didn't know what to expect, the bar area is large and the staff were busy sorting out drinks orders for the restaurant so we waited a few minutes before someone acknowledged us !! once in the restaurant the atmosphere was fantastic, it was busy and although a little noisy we were glad to be placed in a corner out the thick of it. The food was great, so much choice and well cooked. With drinks flowing and good company it certainly was a great evening. Needless to say, we will be back

I was in the area for work with my wife and a close friend also lived reasonably locally. We were after somewhere for a decent meal also I have a love of steak!

A friend recommended we met here for lunch , building is spacious and nicely decorated . Waitress was lovely and food was very good , only slight issue it was quite cold in the restaurant but that was not a showstopper . Parking is in a public car park just up the street £2 for 3 hours

We went at lunch for a friends birthday. The place was empty on a Friday afternoon, only us in there. Starters were a bit disappointing...the jerk wings were not crispy or spicy at all. The steak was ok but sauce not very tasty st all. I would say good for lunch on a set menu but if I paid full price would have been annoyed.

There is no denying that they are good at meat. However that was overshadowed by a very poor overall experience.

Great roast, excellent service and in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We will definitely be heading back to sample more of the menu.

First visit here and will definitely be returning, this restaurant is the best thing to happen to Long Eaton in years. Also its the best bar in Long Eaton if you are not eating. Best venison I’ve ever had, great fillet steak too.

Visited on a Saturday night and parked in the car park next to the theatre (pay and display but free after 6pm). Three of us all had steaks (numerous different cuts available). The menu was a little difficult for my friends to read given the low lighting in the industrial themed building as there’s only hanging uncovered bulbs. We had cocktails which were lovely (hornstar martinis rather than pornstar and a popcorn cola themed one that disappointingly came out first time in a tall glass and then second time in a glass half the size and yet the same price )

Well, what can I say, We visited Butchers for the second time recently despite our not so good first visit and I must say this time I couldn’t find fault in anything at all. This time it was for Sunday lunch and everything was spot on, I think it only fair to to clarify that on our first visit ( Birthday Meal )there seemed to be less staff who were less attentive, this time nothing was too much trouble.

We definitely saved the best for last! We had the chicken ‘pies’ to start which were like little empanadas filled with cheese and Gorgonzola followed by the butchers burger.

We went for my daughters birthday lunch on Sunday. Although very tempted by the fabulous smell of the steaks i has a Sunday roast. It was one of the best i have ever had and would thoroughly recommend it. The veg was glorious and the meat cooked perfectly. Others in the party had steak and burgers which they thoroughly enjoyed. Despite the restaurant not being at all full and there being plenty of staff the service wasnt quick. I can understand a wait for food, but it took a while to get drinks. I am not going to downgrade the star rating though as the food was so good.

from the outside u see very little a understated sign and a menu on the wall.once inside ur greeted with a spacious bar and a lovely greeting. we were shown through to our table in a spacious no fuss restaurant....the staff are really good friendly and non pushy. the menu is a good choice with full descriptions orders place for drinks and food the atmosphere is relaxed and very pleasant...warm bread arrives...miniature loaves..nice touch. soon followed by starters ...yummy. a little while later (not too long either) the main attraction arrives.....all 5 steaks different but cooked perfect....good meat too. do we have room for desert....rude not too...again different choices all lovely. in a nut shell ALL GOOD..from greeting to leaving...WELL DONE EVERYONE

Oh dear! We celebrated a family birthday here tonight. The food was lovely but the service was dreadful. Inexperience I can forgive but surely the whole team couldn't have been new?

I took my family including 3 children under 9 , the staff were really friendly and informative. The Sunday dinner was amazing and although the children had half size portions I would say it wasn’t far off an adult portion. Very generous, the deserts too were very good too. We were provided with crayons for the little ones and bottled water was replaced without asking , with cloth napkins, it felt like fine dining Overall I would recommend the butchers for everything and wouldn’t hesitate in going back. I can’t wait to go and try the steak meals next.

We visited for the first time for my daughters 15th Birthday, we had been told how good the restaurant was from friends but had been warned that it was a bit on the expensive side.

Great service and fantastic food. Went to the restaurant as a birthday treat for my wife and wasn’t disappointed. My steak was cooked to perfection and the serve Sharps Cornish Pilsner. Perfect!! Ok, some dishes are pricey but worth it for this quality.

We went here for a works leaving do and weren’t disappointed. They have a great selection of drinks and the steaks were fantastic.

This was our second visit and although we enjoyed it and the food was lovely the billl seemed pricey but nevertheless we did enjoy it

I have not been to this place in some time, however I’ve never had a bad experience there.

A taste of luxury in a small suburb of Nottingham, this is exactly what the Butchers is. The menu is good but not over loaded with too much choice, the atmosphere is warm and friendly and the staff, continuous and helpful. I have been here before and no doubt I will return, all in all - recommended.
