The Greyhound Inn in East Lindsey

Had an evening meal on Easter Monday. Although it was quiet, the food was delicious and certainly better than your average pub meals. I had one of the Japanese dishes which I thoroughly enjoyed and my husband had the gammon which again got the thumbs up. If you are looking for a bar meal can highly recommend this place.

We were made welcome from first moment we entered. Standard menu was good but specials board required serious deliberation. Decided on the Gammon which covered most of the plate & the special ‘grilled sea bass & tuna on a Niçoise salad. Both were visually appealing & delicious. Staff were sincerely attentive but invasive. Would recommend & would definitely revisit.

It was a last minute booking but they managed to get all seven of us in. The food was amazing and the service was outstanding. We highly recommend you pay them a visit.

Visited the Greyhound recently for Sunday lunch which was delicious with a friendly atmosphere and great service! I had roast chicken, my husband had beef which was so tender it just fell apart, just how we love it. Generous portions meant both of us were so full we couldn't finish everything on our plates! We also had starters and they were tasty too. Would definitely recommend and will be going back

We had an excellent meal at the greyhound. I chose the Grimsby haddock and chips, and my friend opted for the steak and ale pie. Both dishes were served piping hot and were delicious, we will definitely be visiting again.

Had the most delicious steak and ale pie EVER, from their specials menu today. Friendly accomdating staff. Beautifully modern but comfortable interior. Fabulous covered and open seated garden area, which I will definitely be using come warmer days. After a 3 hour hike in the beautiful countryside surrounding Louth this was the icing on the cake. An absolute must visit. You won’t be disappointed. Dog friendly too ! Happy Days 😀 👍

I have been here many times for lunch, dinner, parties and drinks. Food is always delicious and presented well. Something for everyone, whether you want a date night in the restaurant, a cosy girls night in the lounge or family night in the pub. With the added bonus of a lovely outdoor area. Great customer service, staff are really friendly, helpful and service is quick. My number 1 go to place.

Booked a party of 28 in for my daughter’s 21st, and had a sit-down meal in the restaurant. Communication before the event was excellent. We were able to access the restaurant prior to the event to decorate the table, and we preordered our meals which all arrived at the same time. Food was delicious and staff attentive throughout the evening. Had a thoroughly enjoyable time. 😀

We visited for a family gathering, all I can say is if the Greyhound is #26 out of 69 then Louth must have some fab places to dine. I had the Blade beef roast, the beef just melted in your mouth, the roast veg, potato’s, Al Dente veg, reg cabbage, stuffing and Yorkshire puddings were Devine, the stuffing and gravy tasted homemade to boot. Excellent Sunday roast. I asked the 7 others amongst the party (including gluten free and vegan), all had an excellent meal. Our meal today was remarkable and as good a Sunday roast as I can remember, we will be back. Thank you Greyhound.

First time at the greyhound pub, would recommend it, we had lunch as a family, all choosing different things, my husband had the Sunday lunch he really enjoyed it, I had the fish finger sandwich, I found it very nice, everyone enjoyed their meals! A lovely pub

All staff that we encountered were absolutely lovely. Very professional and friendly. The staff really were the wow factor here. The 2nd wow factor was the food. We had 7 Tapas plates between the 2 of us. Gorgeous. (The pork belly was a little dry but was still flavoursome). Everything else was beautiful and very tasty. It was also really good value for money. A definite recommendation.

Amazing from start to finish! We were met by Cherise and taken to our table in the private dining area - a lovely surprise! Nothing was too much trouble for her and the fantastic team of ladies who waited on us for the evening. We ate from the Christmas menu, which was plentiful and delicious, all arriving hot and at the same time. Yummy cocktails in the bar downstairs afterwards too! Thank you to everyone who was involved in our evening, we had a great time and are already planning for next year!

Visited the greyhound today with my grandfather and daughter service was great brought my daughters dinner out straight away as I asked for this my daughter and grandfather had fish and chips witch was said absolutely lovely I had the pork stuffed with black pudding of the specials and I can say this was amazing the sauce complemented the pork perfect and was amazing so we decided have the chocolate brownie to share and that was lovely also only thing I would say less salt on children chips but that is a personal preference so thank you greyhound for lovely lunch nice go out the food to be perfect

We visited here for an evening meal while staying in the area. A warm welcome was received and we were very pleased with the food. Warning - the portions are huge!

Tables are sticky, furniture dirty and the menus filthy. The menu is way overpriced with some dishes costing more than what you’d pay in London. £18 for a regular dish. In line with what you’d pay in an Ivy brassiere with table service. I’m not quite sure how this pub gets away with charging such prices. Wetherspoon's is like a 5 star in comparison.

A wonderful experience , food and service. We were ten friends having a celebratory meal in the private dining room, which had been beautifully set out and table laid, for our arrival. Erin and Cherise looked after us very professionally and their service could not have been better, or more engaging. Our meals were all excellent and were served in synchronisation with the flow of the evening. Well done to you all and to Cherise, as always!!

Came here with my husband for our 1st Anniversary. I had the ultimate chicken burger which had a burnt dry bun, dry chicken and anemic fries that looked like they had just been shown the oil. Husband has a burger which was super thick and not edible, also had the same sad fries. This is sad as it has historically been great here. Maybe blame the 27C degree weather and tired kitchen staff, but for £18.00 A BURGER you expect more. Get better burgers in wethers!

Booked 2 tables for 2 family’s! When we arrived the staff behind the bar just said sharply “your sat down there” lovely greeting! We were sat in the bar area which wasn’t that much of a problem as we had young children with us. Booked online so didn’t see the interior till we arrived. Although we were greeted outside and filled in the track and trace details and applied sanitizer, inside the pub it was like nothing had changed since February. Curtains were hanging off the rails lying all over the sills on two windows,pictures lopsided. It felt like the day after a heavy night,The tables and floor were dirty, the cutlery was handed over without any regard to trying to prevent cross contamination. We both ordered steaks medium rare which were cooked properly and tasty but the thrice cooked chips described on the menu were large wedges of undercooked mush which more closely resembled half cooked potato wedges. Service was slow even though the pub was by no means full. A very unpleasant evening .

Friendly pub with a large outside space for drinkers well as diners. It's very much pub food, menu not extensive and starters very limited. Good service - look out for Lal, she‘s the one who with a cheery smile who calls everyone’ darling’..she will look after you! We visited the Greyhound inn after reading recommendations about the food. We were visiting for the day and booked in as per Covid restrictions. The inn is situated on a road and easy to access. I didn’t see parking on site but found parking relatively close by. We entered and found the bar area very bright, clean and modern. We were met by a friendly staff member that pointed us to the table. We were sat at a table that was clean but had torn upholstery. There were splatter marks on the wall also. It was a shame as the decor would have been fabulous otherwise. There are quirky paintings, pretty light fittings and a snug area. We waited for a while but saw people ordering at the bar. I wasn’t sure if we were supposed to as different places have different set up for the new restrictions. After five minutes we went to the bar to get a menu and found that we do order there. There was a good selection of starters, mains, light bites and specials. We ordered the steak sandwich, halloumi wrap and kids fish and chips. Food took around 30 minutes and this did not disappoint. It was really well presented and tasted amazing. The toilets were clean but unfortunately the men’s light wasn’t working and there wasn’t anything to dry hands on in the ladies bathroom. Overall the food was perfect but just a couple of bits that let it down.

Very popular for food and drinks here. Pizzas are very good quality and lots of topping, 2 of my party had these. I had a chicken burger which had a good piece of moist chicken breast. Good food and good service.

I reviewed the Greyhound last in 2014 and have been a regular since. I have however noticed that things are on the decline. For starters the prices have crept up and are no longer value for money.Also the quality of the food has slipped. The meat used isn't the same quality and portions are really hit and miss.Today I had a Beef and Guinness stew which had new potatoes and topped with puff pastry. It arrived in a bowl equivalent to a breakfast bowl. Little more than a started sized portion.The meat was tough, you could hear it between your teeth as you chewed through it. Two of the pieces had a great big piece of gristle.Really wasn't good at all.Previous experiences have seen the bar staff entertaining their friends at the bar during the day which gets a little rowdy. It's a real shame as it's one of only a few all day opening places in Louth but having had a few less than ideal meals in the last few months it's slipping off my radar.

Visited the restaurant just before Christmas, the first time for a couple of years. What tempted us was the new, extensive vegetarian and vegan menu, even though choices had to be made 24 hour in advance.It took three visits and two phone calls to establish our menu choices and our chosen time of arrival. We were then phoned again by one of the staff asking if we could move our time on by 30 minutes as there was another table booked at the same time. Odd, we thought, but were happy to arrive at 19.30.When we did arrive, we were surprised to see only one party of 6 there, and throughout the whole evening, only one other couple came in, ate, and left. Our meal was fine, but it took a full two hours to complete (with just 8 other covers). Why? Because the Greyhound does a thriving, but confusing trade in bar meals and takeaway pizzas. The restaurant was a thoroughfare for food being taken downstairs, either for consumption in the bar or at home. When we have been in the bar and asked for a cocktail, the order goes upstairs to the restaurant, probably taking precedent over the diners’ orders. When we are in the restaurant and ask for a coffee to end the meal, the order goes downstairs to the bar, where it sits in the queue of those ordering drinks.The bar food is excellent, and the restaurant menu is very good indeed, but don’t expect any atmosphere in the restaurant, just watch the orders going downstairs while you wait in vain for your next course, or even the bill!

We had the steak deal and it was amazing, steak was cooked to perfection and beautifully presented and such good value at £30 including a bottle of house wine. And I must say the whole place looked so well presented, nothing can match it locally, perhaps in price but certainly not quality.

We ate here as a family group of 6 and my sister's dog which the establishment were happy to allow. It was Saturday evening, so busy but the service was swift and very good. Food was delicious, especially the loaded and authentic pizza plus the Nachos were the best I've ever had. Only downside was the ambience of being in a noisy bar with loud music but they did turn it down in our area when we asked. Everyone in our group loved the food and would definitely recommend.

Met here with 5 others for lunch as the establishment came highly recommended, we ate in the bar and chose off the bar menu. The bar was tired and could certainly do with a revamp. No bar mats on the tables and crockery placed in wooden self service units. Given the price of the bar meals, this system could certainly do with a rethink. We were the only ones in the bar area and there was a large screen TV with football on, not football fans would have preferred background music. On the plus, the food was delicious, although at the higher end of the price bracket for lunch. Average price for a man £13 - £14 and sides extra. Sweets around £6. So, on the whole, disappointed with the level of service, been there, done it, not sure if will be visiting again.

Nice restaurant area. Have great food, especially pizzas. Offer gluten free options and gluten free pizzas which is good as I am coeliac. Can be a little bit expensive.

Visited twice recently and enjoyed pizza and drinks outside in the lovely beer garden. We had the Mediterranean pizza on both occasions with a side order of chips and aioli. We thoroughly enjoyed both meals.

Saw the new tapas menu and had to try it! Had a lovely mother and daughter grown up evening eating tapas in the restaurant. Service was fantastic, wine excellent and the tapas didn’t disappoint. Everything came out piping hot quickly, but as and when ready so we didn’t just have a whole table of food. Prawns were incredible, the cheese things (!) even more amazing and way too much for us to eat :) Even the dips with the bread were perfect.

First time at the monthly Gin Night @ The Greyhound. They hold it on the first Friday of each month. Had a great time enjoying 5 different G&T;’s. The bar staff were very knowledgeable and explained each drink whilst preparing them. Each drink had a specific mix of fruit and tonic type. Sat outside on a very warm evening in the lovely Beer Garden. Very busy but still managed to get a seat in the stables.

Came here this afternoon to regular local bar originally just for a drink but decided to eat. Food was ordered before 3,55 but no food was brought to us so after waiting 25 minutes we enquired and was told it wss just being plated up. After another 8 minutes my food arrived not what I had ordered and it was stone cold. After another 6 minutes they brought my partners food, which was as ordered and hot. I said mine wasincorrect and and stone cold so she took it away and said it would be replaced within 5 minutes, after a further 15 minutes she returned and said I could have it within 5 minutes. By this time my partner had eaten his and was ready to leave the apology was very half hearted . I finally left 55 minutes after the 1st order was made. Get the act together and either say there will be a delay and endeavour to bring orders at the same table at the same time.

We arrived thinking it was steak night. That had changed recently which was fine, there were other options. We were not prepared for the rudeness about it though ie insistence we were in the wrong, defensiveness, irritation, staff member goes to computer to check and prove us wrong. It wasn’t a competition! Not a good welcome and we came in in such good moods

Dreadful service. 87 year mum wanted a child’s fish & chips, (something she’s had a dozen times before) only to be told she couldn’t have it and would have to have a large adult portion (far too much for mum). The bar person was surly, but then we were confronted by the thuggish and mono-syllabic barman, Paul. Spent 100’s here over the years. Not again!

Came to watch a football with my partner and ordered a pizza deal. Pizzas was lovely however no table check was done. Good value for money. Perhaps at least a little more attention from the staff would be good?!

It's not often one can give 5 stars to a pub but this one is splendid. I hadn't been in the Greyhound for 30 years but a visit to Louth had us trailing round on a Saturday evening looking for somewhere to eat that wasn't full and eventually we were recommended The Greyhound. Why it wasn't busy I don't know. It has been really wonderfully modernised, there is an excellent choice of drinks served by pleasant staff and the food is splendid. I had a rib eye done lovely and pink with a Provencal sauce with leaves and trimmings and proper twice cooked chips. My wife had tuna with chilli and said it was the best she had had for some time. Go sit in the bar, it's modern and comfortable and you won't be disappointed.
