Popped in for a drink to show my son who is interested in WW2 and the Lancaster bombers, also my family friend Trevor who was Lancaster crew, no whose name is on the ceiling there.

Friday lunchtime and three of us in the party. There was a (small) wedding party in the other room, but the staff were very welcoming and found us a table without a booking. The food was superb, in both quality and service, although we didn't manage to try the puds as we were all full (not an easy feat for our 15yo lad!) We will be back!

Booked for valentines evening amd was not disappointed. Although they had a set menu for valentines they also had the regular menu available which was lovely. We decided on the sharing platter which had our favourite cauliflower bites on and again we were not disappointed. Delicious morsels of food and the fried brie was light and had a lovely crispy batter shell. Hubby enjoyed his burger but I thoroughly enjoyed and demolished my salmon and asparagus bake. Absolutely would order again. Both followed up with iron mess sundae. Excellent service, atmosphere and food just wish we could afford to visit more often.

We went in to get some food and do pottery painting. Not only were the staff lovely but the place is so warm and inviting. Our food arrived in a timely fashion and was delicious. The pub is affiliated with a local artist that provides pottery to paint, so we finished off our afternoon there getting our pottery coloured so it can be glazed and fired later. The pricing is great for the quality we received, well done to all.

Small pub, staff friendly, very quiet to the point we were whispering for the first 20mins and trying to keep the children silent. Obviously not the places fault, but in general it had that quiet atmosphere when we visited. The chicken and blue cheese sauce was gorgeous, but the chips weren't the best. That could have been due to us visiting quite late (6:30) in the day for this little place. The crab cakes were disappointing, they were 3x preprepared/bought in small type fritters with a little salad.

We visited this pub on our last night of our 7-day holiday in Wood hall Spa. The history is facinating, to see it is another thing. Once we stepped in we were transported back in time. Low wooden beams, memorabilia on the walls and ceiling, facinating. Plus, background music to match. We found Prince Williams signature on the ceiling above us. The food was 5* quality, we did book in advance to avoid disappointment. What better way to end our trip. A must visit.

Stopped here on our way back from Skegness on a Northern England tour. If you remember hearing about the Dambusters from family, friends or even teachers then this pub is a must visit. I saw the film as a child and my Dad told me a little bit of the history as he was a teenager when the raid happened plus have read various books as well. However visiting the actual pub where they drank and seeing memorabilia not just about the raid but also from other RAF squadrons was totally amazing. This miniature museum is brilliant and I do hope that it will stay open for many years to come. From the signatures behind the bar to the coins in the beams there are so many stories to be told. If you are visiting anywhere close by and love the RAF or specifically the Dambusters then this pub is a must.
