Great lunch and pint ....so sad it's another pub now gone .... Will be missed turning into a old people's home unfortunately so snooker club is the closest drink now for locals .☹️

My husband and I took my mum for lunch here as she lives nearby. Very pleasant staff, excellent service and food. Mum had the classic chicken burger, we had cod and chips. Enormous portions. We felt it was good value for money and would definitely visit again.

Absolutely fabulous pub and a family friends pub, amazing chef Julie - would 100% recommend, would come back every week!

Food was amazing. Kids loved it and they are fussy as f**k. The chef came out turns out her name was Julie and Jesus Christ she was funny. She surprised me a bit at first but her character made my kids day and we will definitely return. She kept mentioning her side kick, turns out was her manager and they made the place feel great. Family friendly, also dog friendly. And a nice place overall to take the family for a meal. I would also come here on my own for a quiet drink too. Recommended 100% star⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Have never felt so welcome. Highly recommend this establishment, Clare is such a delight !! Not only did she offer table service when it wasn’t required, but Clare took customer service to the extreme.

Travelled down from Stoke to visit a friend,we were 4 in total,booked and ordered the Xmas Dinner, not nice, lump of turkey not carved, dry mash, sad looking carrots,nasty tasting pigs in blankets, basically cooked and plated without any care,sorry but the staff were brilliant, beer was nice but the meal was terrible, we didn't make a fuss just vote with our feet.

My group have been visiting The Greyhound pub since the end of the lockdown in 2019. We call in on Tuesday evenings fortnightly to catch up and have a good natter. Andy and the team always make us very welcome and it seems nothing is too much trouble. There is always a table for us in a nice corner, the drinks are serviced with a smile and often a laugh. The food served to us over the time is always delivered in a timely manner and is really tasty. Especially when we ask for chips and Bread & butter to make our chip butties. A very welcoming and friendly pub

Food took ages to arrive and when it did it was just horrible. Staff seem uninterested with a can't be bothered attitude. Will avoid this place in future. Very disappointed!

Daughter was at a party , so we thought we would treat ourselves to some food. We chose the special option 2 mains and bottle of wine for £20. Food was great I had mixed fish platter which had scampi , cod , salmon and pepper kebabs very tasty, my wife had lamb shank and veg . Would definitely come back for a revisit. Staff were friendly and service was prompt.

Visited the Greyhound tonight for a bite to eat and a couple of drinks after a busy week and couldn’t be bothered to cook. We were really impressed with the changes and improvement since new people have taken over. Place spotlessly clean, great service, cheerful staff who gave us a warm welcome, food was great value and really tasty.

Me and my family member had the soup of the day and it was vegetable and tomato soup was lovely and very taste. Will definitely be returning

I/we love this pub, especially since new management have taken over! The staff are lovely, as is the chef, who is brilliant with what she has to work with. I'm so disappointed tonight with the new menu, don't have the salmon skewers or new York cheese cake, 4 sugar cubed size salmon, if that, salad and rice were good but you need some protein! I could have put the cheesecake together from a packet at home for £1. It won't stop me going in, they have what they're given to work with but be more aware of what you order. It's a shame, it's a really good location and always been a good pub if run well, if Marsdens don't sort themselves out they'll lose some good staff here......

Went to eat here with my elderly father. Hardly anyone in there.Staff acting very unprofessional speaking loudly to each other about being bullied.And then shouting whilst in the kitchen myself my father and two ladies sat behind us where a bit shocked!!Food arrived served by the young girl who was shouting on entering the kitchen. Very disappointed. Scampi was hard. My dad could hardly chew it. Chicken fillet burger was on a bun 10 chips on the plate. No salad or garnish on either plate.Very poor food and will not be returning!!!!

We ate here on Good Friday wished I hadn't bothered. No atmosphere and awful food. We had a burger and the meat and potatoe pie. Hardly any chips with the burger, the burger being undercooked. The pie was nasty, no taste of ale, rock hard pasty on top and soggy underneath. The inside was this mushy consistency, vile.

My partner and I called in at The Greyhound and were pleasantly surprised that it has changed for the better.

Went here last week on the recommendation of a family member who went with us.We had a mix of food a steak a curry a vegetarian meal and I chose the Yorkshire puddings with mash and sausages for a change. the young lady that served us was extremely pleasant Especially as it was just her and the another lady behind the bar working that evening. There were very few people in but the meals still seemed to take quite a long time to come. when they finally arrived mine was the last one out which was fair enough however what they sent me was two Yorkshire puds which had been cremated beyond recognition so I kindly asked if they could be returned to which the young lady said yes and went and sorted it out unfortunately when they returned the fresh Yorkshire puds were also cremated beyond recognition.By this point however I was hungry and that’s the rest of the meal looked edible I’ve put the Yorkshire puds to one side and just ate the rest. when we had finished we went to the bar and asked if we could see the manager just to discuss how bad my meal had been.The lady behind the bar went to fetch the manager but came back and said she was at that time too busy to see us as she was putting her baby to bed and would like to ring us later. we left a phone number to contact us on But unfortunately have never heard from her. My family member was very apologetic as he had recommended the place however all the other meals were okay it was just the poor response from the manager, which will mean I will never again go here as I’m a great believer in voting with your feet but also my family member who did go here quite often will never go again either.

We visited this pub last Saturday night for a quite drink !! how wrong was we.. loads of kids in the pub @ 20.00 running every where playing hide and seek, I did inform the staff and I got a shrug of her shoulders !

We had a long wait for the Sunday lunch and it wasn't worth it. Didn't actually complain but did send most of the food back and commented "show that to your chef, every picture tells a story". Just wanted to get out of there and find something edible at home. Potatoes grey in the middle, decomposing yellow broccoli stone cold, cauli mush, beef tough as leather. Never again!!!!

A party of approximately 14 visited this establishment went for our annual Christmas Dinner but were not overly impressed. On arrival we found that the table had been laid by someone who was left handed so had to rearrange the cutlery and that the correct amount of tables had not been laid. The total number of staff on duty to look after us was totally inadequate for a party of our size. One young person was serving at table assisted by an older lady. Our order was taken but we had to wait about three quarters of an hour and when brought out several of the meals the young server did not know which meals she was serving. A neighbour of mine asked for a spoon to enable him to eat his peas due to poor eyesight but it was never brought . The meal was just about passible. At a busy time just before Christmas only about 4 other people were dinning at this establishment whilst we were there which must say something. All in all not an

Called in for lunch which we waited 30 mins.for despite ther only being above 6 people in there, when it did arrive it was barely warm. There was one young lady trying to cope with serving behind the bar,serving food and clearing tables, which is why so many tables were not cleared when we arrived.

This is just an OK pub / carvery nothing special but it is low prices in week would pay more for better quolity staff were good wouldn't rush back though

Staff were friendly and polite but only seemed like two of them working that day which was a Sunday. We decided to sit outside as still warm and we had our two small dogs. Unfortunately the table we sat at under one of the brolly's wasn't on a level but we couldn't sit anywhere in the shade as all seats were taken. We were told that well behaved dogs were allowed inside but as it was a nice day we stayed put. A few of us had classic burgers and paid 50p for cheddar cheese on them but there was about half a teaspoon of cheese on it if that. We decided to do the XL which had two burgers but burgers were overcooked and dry and you only had about six or seven chips as they use the rectangle plates. One of us had the three meats sunday lunch and was loads on the plate but they said it all seemed very bland and three out of four of us had upset stomachs when we got back later on :(. We were also being attacked by wasps. Staff welcoming and friendly but food lets it down.

I have been to this establishment several times and, as always, it has never disappointed me. My food (soy burger) has always come out in good time and has always been delicious. I usually have lunch here between work appointments and the staff are friendly, polite and professional.

Great atmosphere and perfect for a quick meal and drink in the sun. They have some good week deals on which is an added bonus.

Food took over an hour to come out, waiting staff were rude and unapologetic. When food did come out the starters and mains came at the same time and it was cold. Steak well over cooked even though medium rare had been specified. Nachos had jalapeños on even though without had been specified. Service was so bad staff were resorting to coming out into the garden and shouting ‘whose ordered food’. Won’t be spending my money here again.

Stopped by for Sunday evening eats. Service quick, always friendly. Didn't wait long for food and tasty too. Lots of choice on menu and kids like the kids meals. Was quiet as usual with lots of tables free, always clean with plenty of condiments etc. Staff always polite.

First visit to this pub/restaurant, after first going to the Crabmill in Oldswinford and waiting far too long as the chef had apparently walked out !

Previously visited with family approx 6 weeks ago and meals were very good. Other reviews say recent change of management and food this time was only ok. Beef lasagna this time was a thin meat mixture and gammon was a bit tough. Two other friends had the rump steak which they said was tasty and good value. Undecided whether a further visit would be made.

We frequent this pub on a regular basis and eat on numerous occasions. Last Friday over the August Bank Holiday week-end, we were in the pub with friends and went to order food at 8.15 p.m. only to be told that the kitchen had closed at 8 p.m. I would emphasise that this was on the August Bank Holiday - Friday evening 25th August 2017 and no food!!! Won't be eating at the Greyhound any more!!

Visited for Sunday lunch - waited for an age for it to be served, Had ordered the chicken / beef roast served with all the trimmings on the 'jumbo' yorkshire pud - when finally it arrived - it was difficult to find the jumbo yorkshire - it was so small (frozen smartprice - I bet) Veggie's were tinned and roast potatoes of the frozen type - overall - inedible. Not worth the money. Staff were unfriendly and inhospitable. It was particularly quiet and bearing in mind the quality of the meal there was no reason for the delay in service, Need to up their game if they want to attract customers _ we definately won't be going back!!!

After an easter egg hunt nearby we went here for a quick lunch, 7 in our party including three teens, great food , very quick and a bargain price, the staff were lovely and couldn't be more helpful or welcoming. Will certainly return.

Terrible food My partner had a mammoth mix grill and it was tiny. His steak was rock hard like it had been reheated and dried out, his chicken was a struggle to even get the fork into and the gammon was dry burnt and just very unpleasant. My son's mash had a hard crust on it. My burger tasted like a meat substitute and was rock hard my bun was stale we was going to have pudding but chose to leave after that we dreaded what pudding would taste like

Have visited previously and this visit wasn't as good as our prior visit. Youngest member of our party's meal wasn't cooked properly but was changed ok for something else. Pub itself is ok with a decent choice of beers.

How this pub has gone downhill since Georgina left,Sunday lunchtime and almost empty,food was ok but service slow considering how few people were there. After several management changes Marstons have not got it right.

In my last review this place was awful. New management has made a big difference. The scary non responsive staff have gone, and friendly attentive folk have replaced them.Food is still the standard Marstons cuisine, but rumour has it that this may soon become a carvery, which, if any good, would be a godsend for this pub with so much attention.Beer is now very good. Try it. NB a few characters that look like they came out of the Munsters drink in here, but they are all very friendly. Don't be put off !!!

Went here about 3 or 4 weeks ago with a friend Two courses for £4.75 and Three courses for £5.75 very good value and very enjoyable, not keen on the watermelon cheesecake, was better cheesecake before, but that's a matter of taste - Well worth a visit

Food quality was fairly good but served up cold. Coleslaw was warm and had clearly been left standing for a while. Do not go with a large group unless one person is paying as the bill was unable to be split more than two ways which took a while to sort.

It's a great place to eat with varied food for all sorts of people with different food requirements and serves great food for its value and good portions overall

Last year we went to this pub and it was fantastic, good menu, busy atmosphere and friendly staff. This time was a whole other story and I can only assume it has changed hands. The place was dead apart from locals, to be expected on a Monday lunchtime but we had just come from a pub that was really busy so perhaps not. Food arrived in an ok time, one meal was wrong but we just accepted it, the burgers were more than well done and resembled leather. When we sent the burgers back and said they were inedible we were just told they had all been cooked to the same time and my son had eaten his so they must be ok. He's 3 and eats grass but even he got fed up of chewing on it. They did refund those 2 meals which was good but I felt it was begrudgingly done. Im very British and hate complaining (rarely do it) so I wanted to leave pretty sharpish especially as the group at the bar just kept glaring at us. I thought the staff seemed friendly at first but as we were walking out my 1 year old was chewing on a corn cob and a staff member said 'at least someone enjoyed it!'. I suggest you dont make complaints here, my partners review was met with personal attacks on how much mess my children had left which I felt was completely unacceptable for a 'family friendly' pub, and surely they saw me crawling under the table to pick up the mess, I suspect they wanted us to hoover and wash up also. Apparently we should visit on an evening or weekend, perhaps these are the only times they can be bothered to serve good food or cope with families. On the whole I was happy with my meal and the staff are friendly as long as you don't bother them in any way, including ordering food or having children (despite there being a kids menu). I will not be returning again, the whole experience has left me feeling upset.

People always say you get what you pay for !!! Well for 4:75 for two courses you get more than you paid for here called in for a sandwich as I had an hair appointment up the street from here and decided to go for two courses and the food and service was excellent and was worth the 45 min wait and to top it all you get a pint when ordering food for a pound CHEAP AS CHIPS

Called here for lunch on a Saturday. The pub was not very busy. I had the jacket potato with cheese and beans which was a bit disappointing. My dining partner was pleased with her bacon and chicken baguette. There was a long wait for the food, one couple nearly walked out. The waiting and bar staff were very good.

I decided to pop into the Greyhound after a game of Golf as I was running late and just fancied a pint and a steak for tea!On entering around 5.30 the place was almost deserted with a lone Barman behind the bar. This is a Marston's pub and not being familiar with the food ordering procedure I asked him to explain. You choose a table, open a tab and place your food order at the bar - fine! I ordered the Sirloin steak but they'ed run out so had rump instead, then I ordered a sauce but that was off the menu, and finally a simple accompaniment - garden peas but they only had Mushy!I sat down in a window seat as there were a few empty ones but hadn't noticed a party of about 8 young people behind me. Unfortunately they were very noisy and one of them kept shouting out and making loud noises which was a shame as I assumed he had Tourette's! This however doesn't help when you just want a quiet meal :-(It took 35 minutes for my meal to arrive served by the "lone" waitress. The meal itself was OK and I suppose cheap at around £8.00. I finished the main in due course and after a wait of 15 minutes finally caught the eye of the lone Waitress scampering through the lounge with other food orders.I asked if she could get me a dessert when she had a minute but she was very dismissive and told me to order at the Bar. This I did and the dessert turned up 30 minutes after I finished the mains, goodness knows what the service is like if they ever get busy!To summarise the place is a bit "tired", the pub is being run on a shoestring with the minimal amount of staff, food stocks were a joke (no staff ordering I guess) and the food itself is very ordinary, I'd rate it as 4 out of 10. If like me you're hungry after a day out I'd suggest you find somewhere else to eat - very poor really!

I walked into the pub, and the ginger haired barman, who is covered in tattoo's just about managed to lift his head off his arm as he was leaning on the back of the bar and raise his eyebrows as if to say "what can I get you". (he didn't actually say anything !). Probably the worst reception I have encountered in a pub in my life !The place was almost empty, despite being a well modern, clean, well decorated pub. This is down to the fact that the management has been changed on numerous occasions over the last few months, and they have had some terrible ones in there.Beer is ok, food is Banks's normal menu, front of house is non existent, staff are poor at best

I've only eaten here a few times but always find something interesting on the varied menu. The food has always been well cooked and tasty and good value for money.

We popped in for an early dinner on our way home following a shopping trip in Kidderminster and our expectations to be honest weren't high. Our first impressions as we entered was "OK" - the décor was tasteful and the atmosphere quiet as there weren't too many customers in at 5.45pm - some nice background music would have been appreciated (we spotted plenty of speakers). We browsed the menu and both selected from the Mexican options - Quesadilla and Burrito both with Veggie Filling ,Chips and Guacamole - reasonably priced at about £6 per head with drinks extra, though on Tuesdays there is a deal on offer. Service at the bar was 'interesting' as the barman was clearly new and unsure about a few things - he was helped out by a lady at the bar (this could have been the manager - spectacular hairstyle!) but overall this wasn't great service. We didn't have to wait too long before our food was served by a pleasant young lady who also brought the cutlery and condiments. Our food was well presented, hot and of decent quality (given our expectations) and actually proved to be tasty and filling. The pub was starting to fill up as we ate our meal and was distractively quite noisy (albeit high spirited chat and laughter) - that softening music would have helped. We left the pub and the lady at the bar saw us move towards the exit but failed to ask how our meals were and to thank us for our custom - giving us an underlying feeling that customer service and trying to look after customers was secondary to spending time at the bar chatting - a shame as it was OK, but as a previous report suggested could be so much better if some effort was made. There is little about The Greyhound to make us return in the future - it met a need on the night but that's about it.

Had a meal here with a friend who I rarely see. We travelled over so that we could try somewhere new. We got some drinks at the bar where the staff were pleasant although wearing jeans and trainers in a work environment! We found ourselves a table and started to look at the menu. I requested a gluten free menu to be told that they don't do one even though it stated on the regualar menu to ask staff for the menu. A member of staff, who seemed to be the manager again dressed in jeans and trainers, said that he would ask the chef. Somebody else appeared with a gluten free menu. We ordered our food then to be told that there was a 40 minuet wait on food when the pub seemed pretty empty. Neither me or my friend could understand why this was. I ordered a chicken tika off the gluten free menu and my friend had the mixed grill. I started to loose confidence when a member of staff came over to the table and asked what part on the Tika meal I couldn't have because of a gluten intolerance (which was the naan bread) Our meals came out and looked fine, however the egg was missing from the mixed grill and I didn't get any mango dip like it said on the menu and we asked twice for tomato ketchup. No one came to see if we were happy with our meals. If they had done so then they would have found out that the rare steak that my friend asked for on her mixed grill was more medium and my meal could have been warmer. By the time we had finished we just wanted to leave so we paid and left hoping we could enjoy the rest of our night. Won't be going back in a hurry unless for changes are made for the better!

We went for a family meal to say the pub was really busy we didn't wait that long for our food and all of the meals were lovely. So were the desserts definitely be going again soon.

Family party of 18 visited on Saturday 16th January. Good menu choice and good value. Well organised kitchen producing all meals ready to be served together. An enjoyable evening had by all. Well done Greyhound

Good food especially the steak worth a visit staff very helpful and pleasant will be going back very soon.
