Great pub! Lovely food. Staff were absolutely amazing. 10/10 would come again. Was my first visit. Hopefully not my last.

The rooms are small but would do for a short stay, the bed mattresses could do with being renewed as they are very very uncomfortable and can feel every spring on it, your body feels like it's been kicked about and aches, shower head holder was broken so had to hold it to shower, walls could do with paint as there was drink stains everywhere, new carpets would be beneficial as some stains noticeable, not a place to stay for longer than 2 nights in my opinion. Good point the meals were nice but think the kitchen is run separately by outside person, breakfast not included in stay so have to travel into town for it.

Booked a room for one night during a business trip. En-Suite double bedroom was very clean, quiet and peaceful. Jessica was very kind, welcoming and ensured my stay was stress free. She was very efficient and provided any extras I required. Special thanks to her and the pub overall, for making my stay peaceful and relaxing.

We slept here one night because of loud music in the room. We left. We had no WiFi or TV. The owner does not speak to us. We have not yet received a refund for three nights that we did not use!

The town is small. Ideal as an intermediate point. The bar is very popular among the locals. In the evening everything is packed. But this is one of the most colorful places we visited. The bar closes at 11 pm. If you don't have enough alcohol, order in advance - they won't sell it under any pretext. Breakfast must be ordered in advance. Very tasty English breakfast, but make arrangements in advance. The rooms are clean, in the style of a provincial hotel, no frills. Forget about soundproofing, a Life concert from the pub will be heard as if you were taking part in it.

Very pleasant staff and good atmosphere, but food below average. Steak and kidney pie had no kidney. Plate was cold. Food was just doloped on the plate. Powdered mash still had powder in it. The gravy boat came with cold congealed..... Something, not gravy.

A lovely find, not too far out of town but enough to be relaxed. Friendly service.

Rooms were not too bad but was booked by work as digs on a weekend rooms are above a very noisy pub and I never got to sleep until 2am I imagine it would bee alot quieter through the week

We have eaten here during the week and also on a Sunday for the carvery and both portions and quality of food are fantastic. Portions are large and therefore good value for money. Would highly recommend 👌❤️

After a phone call to this local public house on Sunday afternoon 6/09/20 , asking to reserve tables for a party of 10 people , on Monday 7/09/20 , l was informed there was no need to book just come along and it would be ok ,l asked what time was last orders to order food because l was aware ppl have been for meals and chef had gone home before 7pm , l was told 6.30 pm .On arrival at 5.45 on Monday 7/09/20 l was told by the bar staff they didn’t have a chef so there were no meals available , l asked why did they not tell me that when on the phone the day before ?????? He didn’t know l had phoned , we went to Shuttle and Loom and had a very good meal and night out after being messed about by staff at the Grey horse. ADVICE for Grey Horse .... get organised, seems right arm doesn’t know what the left is doing.

Have been to this pub on numerous occasions for food in the past 2 months but have only managed to get food on 3 occasions. They advertise food until 7pm but that’s not correct as the chef tends to go home anytime after 5.15. It’s a shame as the food that we have had on the 3 occasions that we had food it was really nice. Please please get your chef to stay especially when people do manage to get a meal they can’t get a desert as he has gone all before 7pm. Bar staff left to apologise to customers. Lovely refurbishment done.

Excellent Sunday dinner, pub looks really good after a face lift the guy behind the hot plate makes you feel welcome and speaks unlike alot of places. Food was done to a very good standard and cooked just the way a Sunday dinner should be 10 stars keep up the good work..
