Food was good; we decided to eat at lunchtime and live nearby. Very busy staff attentive and pleasant. Clean and plates cleared without asking. BIG problem if you don’t like sharing with dogs yapping and begging for food. Surprised with hygiene being the in thing that they allow animals in the cafe. Definitely will be off the list.

Very disappointed, dry sandwiches and apart from the scone, cakes were not home made. Rather embarrassing as a birthday celebration.

We dropped in on the off chance of getting a table. We were greeted with a smile and had a table for 5 sorted very quickly. The food was tasty & well presented with friendly efficient service from Zoe. Will return soon.

First time visiting. Highly impressed and delighted with the array of gifts on offer, layout and choice amazing. Lunch? Not so amazing unfortunately. Pretty basic menu, a very, very, very long wait to order food/drinks. The staff were very pleasant but slow it was ridiculous. The whole area needs organising it was so disjointed and service unacceptable. I will visit the centre itself again but as for the restaurant? No definitely not. As I said food was basic and service atrocious. Our plates weren’t even cleared after 2 hours! It amazes me the standard some people except.

Good food, reasonable service time. Would recommend, however as with all garden centres you pay a premium. Helpful and friendly staff.

I always enjoy coming to this beautiful place. The food is always so yummy. This time I had the breakfast bruschetta and it didn’t disappoint. The staff was friendly and welcoming. I can’t wait to return.

Me and my husband went here for afternoon tea and it was so busy! The staff worked really hard to serve everyone and we couldn’t fault anything. Our afternoon tea was amazing, with everything so fresh - we would highly recommend it. Top marks from us 🙂

It is a year since I last went to the Greenhouse. It was poor then but as it was this or McDonalds, on the roundabout, which I don't like I thought I would give it another try. Wish I hadn't, McDonalds would have been better. The place is clean and the ambiance is fine but after that it goes down hill. Staff wander round at a snails pace exprexssionless and untidy. There is no dress code or even attempt to look smart or even tidy. Food is ordered from the counter and had to remind them they needed a table number. After ordering I took my grandson to the toilet which was dirty. Food was unimpressive and small given the cost sausages overcooked, and the coffee arrived luke warm. It also took 15 minutes to get a cappachino, which had to be chased up. No one asked if everything was ok. The one thing that was quick and efficient was the clearing of the table, because as soon as we stood up someone was on it. Very underwhelming experience food poor, coffee poor, service poor, price too high for what they offer.

Ordered a ploughman’s and just got a bowl of grated cheddar? One meal just didn’t turn up but upon looking at the other meals- decided not to reorder or chase it! Young boys in the kitchen - owners need to invest in a chef I think. Also we did eat around 3pm but there was food all over the floor and tables not cleaned. Shame as came a few years ago and it was great. If you are coming here, just stick to coffee and tea as the food is really poor.

This review is in respect of the gift shop, not the cafe.I recently returned an item of ladies clothing to the Greenhouse gift shop, there is a boutique opposite the cafe, not for a refund or credit, but as I told the assistant, purely to bring a problem with the garment to thier notice. The reason for this was because I had bought the top in June and then went on vacation, I had also cut the label out of the back because it was itchy. On the first wash holes appeared in the front, so I darned them, not a problem because I could wear it around the pool, on the second wash more holes appeared. I explained all of this to the assistant and suggested it was moths, this was confirmed by one of the nurserymen who was standing nearby. The manageress heard all of this and intervened, so I explained again to her. Surprisingly she offered a credit note, and of course I accepted. Then she renaged on that offer and said she was prepared to give a credit note for coffee and cake in the restaurant. Having offered, and I accepted, the first offer I declined the second. Then the following happened........Appartently she hadn't the authority after all to make a decision, so she referred to the owner. On her return she suggested I hadn't bought the top from them because there was no label in the back, also the receipt, whilst quite obviously one of thiers, could have been for anything, she suggested I could have bought a candle from them, the top from somewhere else, and decided to return the faulty top to them. Of course by then I was very angry, bearing in mind I had only taken the top back to show them the holes and made it quite clear I was not expecting a refund or credit, she was actually calling me a liar. She was unbelievably offensive and obviously hadn't got her listening ears on. The owner had offered me a 15% discount on any further purchase, as if, as a one off, which I totally ignored. This establishment desperately needs to do some staff training to improve thier people skills. Beware if you intend to buy from here because the receipt does not identify the item purchased and in the event of you having to return anything you will more than likely be called a liar. Finally, check your item thoroughly for holes just in case the nurseryman was correct when he said my item holes were made by moths.OH, I was talking to someone recently about this and she told me she had bought a top from here and the same thing happened. Unfortunately she couldn't find her receipt otherwise she would have taken her top back. So two more customers down. How many more will it take before they sit up and take notice.

Superb quality food with a very modern presentation but with amazing old fashioned flavours that reminded me of my Yorkshire Nanas ones . Deserts were also on point great Sunday lunch venue in a very Harry Potter esque beautiful old fashioned village . Staff could not do enough and squeezed us in for a late and last minute dinner . The photos I saw when looking for somewhere to eat were spot on too .
