The Greenfield in Rhondda Cynon Taf

From the beginning to the end of the evening was made so special for the Birthday event,the Staff were absolutely brilliant in every way and so were the 18 or so meals serve up to the group. Thank you Greenfields, so so much.

Great pub, with delicious food. Travelled up from cardiff to meet friends and would definitely recommend if any one looking for good, quality, tasty food. Very reasonable and large portions. Service spot on to.

Great place for a Sunday lunch. Great price, great food. You can even choose off the normal menu.

Three day before I broke up with my ex in September, we passed by here, and she wanted to have a lunch in the pub. I was okay with it but later she changed her mind. This week I had drinks here twice before I go to China and stay there forever. The price of drinks are reasonable while the vibe is chill. It’s a lovely place!

Nice food at the Greenfield used it lots over the years. Sunday takeaway dinners are fun, because whatever you ask for is usually wrong, so it's a nice suprise when u get home to find out what you actually have to eat. Lovely food though.

The best food I’ve had in a long time . Their steak and mash was 😍😍 The staff were amazing especially meryl, she is the reason we will be back to this area . The beer garden has amazing views

We had lasagne with garlic bread, corned beef pie with chips and cajun chicken with rice. All were delicious and the portions are huge. Excellent value for money, efficient and polite service

Waitress very polite ordered meals & drinks had to wait and ask where drinks were after 10mins (the pub was not busy) the meal was outstanding as usual well presented and plenty of. When we went to pay we were told CASH ONLY luck my friend was able to cover the cost (no signs to say) the lady behind bar let's the place down with her abrupt manner also whilst eating food when serving not very professional... this lady has been rude on a few occasions but her length of service she thinks gives her the right SORRY NOT ACCEPTABLE

We were a fairly large part of 14 people, that were there to celebrate my brother's birthday. He was home from Canada for the first time in years. Our booking was for 4pm and we were told we had 2 hours at the table as there was another booking after us, which was fair enough. The welcome and service was awful and it took 35 minutes before anyone came to take our orders. Our food actually started arriving at 5.15pm and it was about ten minutes before everyone was served, which meant 35 minutes to eat and leave the table. The food was excellent though, great quality and very large portions, homemade chips, which were lovely. I had a steak and it was cooked perfectly. No one came to check if we were happy with our food and we weren't offered any deserts as the next contact we had with staff, was to tell us that the next party were in and could we leave the tables as soon as possible. In all the food was of a very good standard and everyone enjoyed it. But the service, welcome and organisation were very poor indeed, so disappointing and such a shame.

Beautiful food yet again, halloumi fries and greenfield steak absolutely hit the spot! The chips are homemade and taste so good! Would highly recommend a visit

Probably the best Sunday lunch in the Rhondda, if not the whole of South Wales. Three sittings, three choices of meat, fantastic roasties (need more!!), Yorkshire pudding, mashed swede, shredded cabbage, carrots, peas and boiled potatoes, together with plenty of really meaty gravy. The beef falls to pieces, slow cooked and gorgeous. The staff are busy yet friendly and can’t do enough to help. Excellent!

Lovely food, friendly staff, healthy options available, can be very busy and also noisy. Considering the popularity of the food, the decor is now letting the place down, it has now gone to look really shabby and definitely in need of a spruce up.

Always a friendly welcome. Food amazing and good portions. Always a go to place if we go out. Advisable to book in advance, however, they go out of their way to fit you in.

Real nice Madras curry, lovely coffee. Good service even tho the ladies were XMas busy. Only downside was we would've liked a Christmas Dinner, OUR Fault we didn't know you have to pre book them, 4.5 stars

Food is your typical pub grub , nice, but most is microwaved etc.. Not much different to other pubs in the area, decor a little tired too and it's very noisy when there's a few people there, parking is a nightmare too

Cracking pub, loads of seating options inside and out. Food is available with a vast array of drinks, both soft and alchoholic. Perfect for families and couples, I love this place.

Portions are very generous; far too much for us, but it's not quantity over quality. The food is excellent, the service friendly, and the prices very reasonable. We eat here regularly when we visit our son because it's walking distance and a delight every time after a hard day of DIY. An update (August 2023): the meat in the burger was not great. Most of it was fine but the last mouthful was very chewy and tough. The chips were half dark and half plain - not sure why, maybe half were sweet potato? It wasn't the same quality we've had in the past and it's pretty pricey now with burgers being £13.

Lovely pub, friendly staff and the food is delicious with big portions and the prices are reasonable. We had a bit of an alleged incident with another customer occur last time we were there and the owner was extremely understanding and helpful, she went above and beyond to put our minds at ease. The reason for not giving 5 stars (i'd give 4.5 if i could) is as follows: When i asked for the coleslaw that had been forgotten the barmaid gave the impression that i was inconveniencing her. I am the kind of person who can misinterpret peoples actions, and haven't seen her mentioned in other reviews so perhaps it's just in my head. Overall the staff are lovely especially the gentleman with short hair. We ordered a starter of haloumi fries, they were absolutely delicious but for £6.25 you get 4 which i felt was a bit small for the price and personally wouldn't order a starter again. The portions on the mains were massive. Would highly recommend, although it's a shame they don't have a nice open fire, that would really make the experience perfect.

Had heard good things about the food at this pub well I was well disappointed every meal had a fault with it tacos stuck to microwaved cheese which hads gone solid mexican chicken covered in solid cheese hawaiangammon covered by dried up cheese overall a poor bit of cooking!

I’ve been here a few times in the last few months. The food is amazing, the bar is fully stocked, but the reliability is extremely poor. We’ve had bookings missed off the calendar when we’ve arrived and a short notice cancellation which could have potentially ruined a birthday had another local restaurant not been understanding and stepped in. Great food, but we won’t be going again due to unreliability.

Great Sunday lunch for 8 Pounds. Like a home cooked meal. Meat was tender, vegetables plentiful and the gravy was very tasty. Plenty of everything for our party of 6 people.
