The Potting Shed Tearooms in Rhondda Cynon Taf

Really lovely lunch during my first visit here. It was a hot day and my four month old was particularly grumpy. A staff member gave me a jug of water with ice to cool down his bottle quicker when he was hungrier sooner than I'd anticipated. The tea room is so beautifully decorated. It has a cottage core vibe and is just so pretty. They sell hot and cold drinks, ice cream, cakes, scones and hot and cold food. I had the cheese and onion melt, which was divine. I also bought a piece of cake to take home - it was hard to choose between the cakes on offer, as they all looked so good. Great, friendly staff and good food with decent portion sizes. We didn't look in the shop but I plan to go back soon for lunch, so will have a look then. Also there are toilets outside with baby changing facilities.

Love this place. Such a relaxing place to visit.... to chill have a snack and browse their aladdins cave of gifts and homeware! 100% recommend

We had coffee in the potting shed this morning, my husband had a buttered tea cake and I had some welsh cakes both delicious. Very friendly staff and lovely coffee in a comfortable and relaxing environment.

I have to say, one of the better places I've been to for food. The young lad there who served us was welcoming, so pleasant and accommodating. I asked for a slight change on something from the menu. He wasn't sure at first, but he did it anyway. The food was really tasty and although slightly on the expensive side, it was still so very tasty. I don't mind paying a little bit extra for the nicer meals. Also felt really cosy, and it looked like the customers there were also enjoying their meals. All in all, I would definitely return to try more items on the menu

Love the food here. Nice plate for children. It's always busy, always a good sign. Just be prepared to have a wander in the shop as you wait for a table to become available.

Wonderful little find....essentially a quirky home and garden shop with a tea room. Honestly had the best tuna melt ever.

The only trouble is the road going in to the sit is full of potholes.

Visited recently, their menus stated jacket potato and soup of the day - when tried to order these two items, we were told that they no longer serve these items as it’s now Summer time! Then why are your menus out of date? Strange.

First visit, will definitely visit again.

Never go here again. Owner needs to learn how to speak to customers. Absolutely disgusting making customers with babies feel not welcome. Maybe next time politely advice you have changing facilities rather than embarrassing them Infront of other customers

Not a very warm welcome at the potting shed today! Met a friend for lunch and cake afterwards, during our meal a reserved sign was placed on our table which made us feel rushed anyway. Staff were looking at us but we were eating and chatting as you do and then as were finishing up a lady came over and told us tables are only for an hour and a half! Well we were never informed of such, saw no signs and were paying customers, hadn't simply ordered a tea and sat for hours. Not a welcoming approach sadly. Food was very nice, I do like to enjoy it not clockwatch however!

Ordered some rolls and melts as a take away. Nice enough but £6.50 is a very high price so I probably wouldn't return at that price for a take away.

Lovely little place with viod food, wondered around the shop, it had a good selection of all sorts of things.

Quaint and two delightful ladies who record sales via a jotter the old fashioned way right up my alley I will be back when I next return to Wales if only to visit this place highly recommend 😀

Unusual location on the premises of a timber merchants but a pleasant place to relax and enjoy decent food. Unusually, they do not offer a range of coffees, only filter so if you like a latte or flat white best look elsewhere. There is also a shop stocked with lots of gift type items and quirky wares.

What a truly cosy place this is, with lots of lovely things to buy on display. Just a shame I couldn't have a toasted tea cake after 11am. Never mind what I did have was lovely 😊

Beautiful, quirky and rustic little shop. The tuna melt was by far the best one I’ve ever had. Stunning. The crockery was also very cute, and the soup was lovely. I came with my partner and his mum and it was so cute to see Mr and Mr trinkets, I love how inclusive the shop is. My mother in law is a local and brought us in because she absolutely loves the vibe, and being from London it was delightfully well priced. Can’t wait to come back in the summer!

What an amazing place this is. An absolute Emporium of unique and what a wonderful surprise I had when I visited and I have never seen such beautiful jewellery, ornaments, toys and gifts which you would not see anywhere else. The cafe was also just as special with simple things made and presented to the highest standard and just so delicious with outstanding homemade cakes which looked incredible. You need a whole day to look at all they have to offer within the shop and the toy section is like a magical wonderland which children of all ages would find truly exciting. I can hardly wait for my next visit to this wonderful Emporium.

I love this place brought the most stunning lemon cheese cake it is sublime but packed in a tin foil to take away not cheap so please pack it properly guys

Lovely, unexpected place tucked away by the Royal Mint - huge pieces of cake! (Amongst other things 😄)

What a great find. We had gone to Country Timbers to buy a shed and were invited to consider the deal and logistics over a cup of tea. We did; and sat in a cosy cafe, filled with people who had obviously found it before us, and resisted the temptation to tuck into delicious looking cakes and a selection of tasty lunch dishes. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

Fabulous food in this hidden gem of a cafe. Everything's home made on the premises and they cater for allergies and intolerances.

Gorgeous little cafe although we were rather confused pulling into a builders yard lol. We will be back.

Little gem of a tea Room hidden in a builders yard ... It's good to know it is a tea Room so only coffee is filtered no latte or mochochinno 🙈 lovely for a catch up limited menu cafe food but everything well presented but not cheap slightly expensive for what you get ... The shop next door is ram jammed with treasures and makes you spend money 😂

A fabulous gem of a coffee shop tucked away. Situated in a wonderful shop with amazing character, like a posh treasure trove, bursting at the seams with such beautiful items. The coffee shop is situated at the end of the store and offers delicious homemade quality food and cakes. It's a place that's difficult to leave but one you'll always want to return to.

Amazing hidden cafe and lifestyle store in a timber yard. Delicious drinks and bakery goods, with a lovely, cosy atmosphere. So glad it was recommended to us, will definitely come back here again if we’re around Cardiff!

Shared a lovely hour catching up with my Mother and sister in this lovely little tea room. Decorated in an Alice in Wonderland Mad Hatter's tea party style, it is a colourful feast for the eyes. Lovely China cups, beautiful home made cakes, and freshly made rolls. They also have a small menu of hot food available. Definitely worth a visit.

Cakes are seasonal and wonderful. Lovely warm atmosphere, staff compliment the offer. Can't comment on savoury food, but it looks great. Gift shop classy too. R.W

5 well deserved stars! Staff are very friendly and the drink/food is very enjoyable. First visit and definately not the last.

The actual place is lovely and I love a log fire. Although the food was good, fresh & well presented it is a little over priced and you feel a bit rushed...as you're finishing your last mouthful plates are being cleared away as they obviously want someone else to have the table but when it's the kind of place you meet up for a natter you want to be able to feel you can relax.

The price is ok, but service was quite slow.

Quaint cafe, service could be quicker so definitely one to visit when you're not in a rush. Loads of selection and great with kids, but not very accessible for wheelchairs or walking aids.

Great shop, some really beautiful things, cafe not great, no cappuccino, food was cold and had to be reheated and it was not that nice. Menu needs to be increased
