Disgusting staff who are clearly racist and do not want to be there zero customer service I come here a lot but have come to realise it depends who I come with as to how I’m treated when with my white friend staff are friendly helpful polite when I come with anyone else even trying g to order food seems as though I’m putting them out the guy with the ponytail and glassses and girl with shaved head are the worst of them all so rude make me feel like I’m a total inconvenience to them! I will now only eat here with the one friend that gets treated fairly anyone else we will be going elsewhere to eat! Foods ok atmosphere are good shame the staff let it down

A great pub/ restaurant with fantastic staff. As a family we go every Tuesday to the quiz night. The staff and landlady Jen are brilliant, friendly and efficient. The food is good quality and reasonably priced. There are regular quiz teams and we all get along creating a fun evening Definitely give it a try if you are in the area.

I need to tell about my terrible experience we all had Saturday 22nd July 2023. My friend arranged for family and friends to meet for her son's birthday anniversary memorial but unfortunately the handling and presence of the security made this very intolerable.apparently they thought some our group were suppose to be dealing in drugs and when the male members of our group went to the toilet they were actually followed by these so called security people.then some of our friends who I may add we haven't seen in a while left as this made them feel very uncomfortable I feel this needs to be addressed asap.so we definitely will not be returning

We had a lovely evening at the Greene Man. The food was great, but the main reason why we'll be returning very soon is the staff. They went above and beyond, they were great with the kids and they couldn't have made us feel more welcome. Highly recommended!!!!

I visited the pub for much I had a lovely meal considering there was 5 of us and the restaurant was quite busy our server Jamie went above and beyond to make sure we was seen too and our table was cleared before desserts will definitely visit again.

I normally really like the food at the Greene man. Decent value, decent food. It was a normal Tuesday night, pub quiz, pub food, no dramas. After our meal, me and the missus decided to order dessert. This is where things took a turn…. We ordered the ‘Ultimate Big Candymania’. For those who don’t know, it’s basically an ice cream sundae, with chocolate bites, cookie dough bits, cream, chocolate sauce (the works, it’s as good as it sounds). However, what we were served was something bizarre. When the waiter served us, he brought us a tub of ice cream. Like, a tescos tub of ice cream. Still in the tub! I’ve added the photo below, as it’s just baffling. They have literally gone to a supermarket, bought a tub of chocolate ice cream, slapped some whipped cream and sauce on top. Just incredible. Now, technically, we got the ice cream, and the rest of the food was nice. But if you’re gonna charge £7, at least put it in the glass bowl, with the works. 3 stars are for the main meals we had. The missing two are for the people who shared a Tesco ice cream tub at the pub.

On a freezing cold Saturday the heating didn’t work. Not only that the lady behind the bar didn’t put a smile on her face the whole time we were there. Asked for medium steak but when it came out it was still mooing and the chicken was as rubbery as a dog chew toy. Also the baby change was broke so had to change a baby on the seat in front of everyone on the freezing cold would really not recommend specially if you want to go out with all your fingers and toes in this cold weather

This pub is defined by great value for money food and the excellent friendly welcome & great service from Jenny & her team always makes the experience of eating here a pleasurable one. This is the first time I have put a second review of the same place on Tripadvisor and my reason for doing so is because this team’s efforts warrant the praise and thanks they so richly deserve! If the brewery were to run a pub team of the year award then this team would definitely be our winner. The full English breakfast is always of great quality and we along with a number of our friends are now regular visitors here. Highly recommended 👍🏻

My partner and I visited The Greene Man, Chingford, London today for the Sunday lunch offer, 2 roasts for £15.99. The only option for vegetarians was sold out, so I got a meatless burger. I would have thought that putting this through as a substitute roast would have been a gesture of good will on their part, but we got charged £27 and I couldn't even have a roast ok a count of not eating meat! Nice decor though.

Visited here after the Spurs match on Saturday. Lovely pub, very clean, friendly staff, sports on the tv screens and the food was fab! This is the first pub I’ve seen that has food offers on a Saturday, big plates for £9 what a bargain! The burgers are amazing, looked and tasted home made, you get loads on 2 plates. Everything was cooked to perfection, even the steaks were how we like and all piping hot. My partner likes his pints of Peroni and he said it was a nice pint. We didn’t have to take it back like with other pubs who can’t pour it. We liked it that much we came back the next day for the Sunday roast which again was very nice. I Prefer the beef to the chicken, as I like sliced chicken but the breast were cooked nicely. The beef cut like butter and was very juicy and tasty. The veg was nice, carrots could of had a few mins longer but that’s my choice and I’m not a fan of cheap mash but it’s only a spoon size amount so I didn’t feel like I wasted much by leaving it. The roast potatoes were perfect and we all said how nice they were. The finale had to be the home made yorkshires, we were expecting ready made until we cut into them, very nice. We will definitely be visiting here when we are over for future Spurs games! Keep up the good work guys! We will be back again next month.

Went to the Green Man with friends on a Saturday afternoon , we all went for the big plate special offer, the service and food were excellent, would definitely go back and recommend.

First time I’ve visited and will definitely come again. Prompt service and food and drinks can also be ordered on the app. Staff were friendly and helpful and we all enjoyed our meal. Good value and I also got a discount by using my blue light card.

We went on a Sunday lunchtime which when we went in was nice and quiet. Food and drinks are ordered through the APP which is simple, easy and quick to do. All our food was plentiful and good. The Fetta fingers are to die for, but worth the risk. If I had one grumble it would be the toilets which although were clean, need some TLC and money spent on some repairs. I would return to this pub, but its a brand that has lots of other branches.

I was here at the moment of the situation and @sylviabussey1903 's review is very incorrect. I visited the pub with a group of friends to watch the football game showing, when an aggressive women marched in and started shouting at her ex-partner. She then proceeded to throw his drink over him and slapping him around his face infront of their kids and other customers, he pushed back and at that point multiple staff members intervened and split the pair up, one staff member moved the kids away from the scene and another moved the father away and calmed him down while the manager tried to take the woman outside. Unfortunately she was being extremely resistant and even punched the manager in the face, in a struggle to get the woman outside she tripped over a barstool before leaving the pub shouting and swearing at her ex-partner. As a first time visitor to this pub I say the staff handled the situation very well and also brightened the atmosphere after the incident.

Four of us visited here to wacth football & the n eat. Sadly we didn't get to the eating part as a fight broke out in the main bar between a man & his partner, in front of their three, young children. At no time did I see any of the staff try to get the children away from it, so they all saw their father punch their mother in the face & throw a pint over her. The only time we saw a member of staff intervene was to manhandle the woman, knocking her over & leaving her bleeding & wet outside with her children. The staff then proceeded to high five & joke about it, we left without eating, having no appetite after what we'd seen. At no time did we see any management, which is strange on a busy Sunday afternoon.

I saw that they ran poker nights here. I thought I would go along and have a meal first. I was on my own and I struggle with going to new places. I neednt have worried. I was greeted at the bar by a lovely young man called Carletto who introduced me to the poker team. The rest is history. Lovely pub,food,staff and atmosphere. Haven't been here for couple years, as it used to be shabby with food on floors etc. So decided to try again for my daughter's birthday yesterday. The food was well presented and hot, very tasty too. Only thing I didn't like was trying to order and people coming up trying to get served and was shouting at friends etc. Think should have a quiet till to order and bar drinks ordered the other side of bar. They got how we like our steak wrong due to the noise.

I ordered a medium rare steak which came out very chewy and choked trying to eat it. The peas was near to cold and the onion rings batter wasn't cooked properly. I have been here a numerous of times and the food quality has never been as poor as this. When asked the girl is this steak cooked properly she replied that's how we do it.

Agree wholeheartedly with gingerbee comment. A separate area for food orders would be ideal and cut down on waiting time for customers who are just looking to order drinks.

Dos sopas pedidas con medio baguette pero vinieron con rebanadas de pan blanco un poco decepcionante allí. Comí pescado, pero la rodaja de limón que vino con él fue de un minuto. Took the family for a birthday meal as we have been before , but unfortunately we will not be returning back - lack of staff behind bar, quite a few people waiting to be served some for food and drinks . I can not fault the staff member who served us she was very nice and helpful.

Have visited this location on several occasions - usually on a Sunday but this time on a Bank Holiday Monday. Service was quick and the food was freshly cooked and piping hot. Popped in for a meal on Sunday with my family. I have visited this pub quite a few times since moving to Chingford 4 years ago, since first being taken there by friends. Allthe meals I have had there, either in company or by myself, I have enjoyed. The food is always well presented by friendly staff, and dining areas are always kept clean and tidy.

We often attend the Greene man and on each Tuesday there is a quiz hosted by Anthony. It's a fun night and Anthony's enthusiasm in presenting the questions is excellent.

We came here after seeing the high star rating but we were terrible mislead. The food was dreadful! I got a completely burned steak that I had to return. The bacon in my partner's burger was looking sickly pale with loads of fat on it. Our kid's meal was the wors of all. There was not a single fresh good ingredient. The vegetables were soggy and came from the freezer and the meat was shockingly smelly and tasted dreadful! Absolutely horrific experience.. I can't stop wondering what people that liked this place ordered but there was not a single good dish from our order. Will never come back again :-(

Been coming to this pub for years and always had a decent time. Finally thought I had a bad experience when the place was rammed and my meal had stuff missing. I told my server Bailey and he fixed it in less than a minute and had a great attitude, my partner barely had time to take a second bite of her meal before he came back.

Meal very nice as usual well cooked and fresh Staff friendly. Unfortunately there were a group of 6 or 7/parents who allowed there children to run around screaming and shouting kicking a ball ,crawling under tables. Why did the landlord allow this..There were other children in there behaving themselves.

As previous visits the food was served quickly, and the surroundings comfortable for this type of restaurant. The only draw back was as we wanted a quite meal there is no area for this to happen and some of the children using the area were not supervised as well as they could have been

I have visited many Hungry Horse pubs and this is one of the best by far! Lovely clean pub and welcoming atmosphere. All the staff have always been friendly and welcoming and have always enjoyed the food when I've come on countless ocassions.

On Saturday the 12th I decided to give this pub a try due to my local recently closing and needed a place to watch the football. Though the result was poor with us getting beaten 1-0 by West Ham, the staff of the pub were excellent. Alan (one the Managers and happy West Ham fan) provided top notch banter and certainly embodied the saying "service with a smile". I overheard one of the regular customers chatting with a staff member, and they seemed to have a good relationship which i like to see with staff in a pub. Food was lovely, i'm certainly a man with an appetite so the Saturday £7.50 Big Plate Deal came in handy. I chowed down on a Rare Full Monty Mixed Grill which was cooked to perfection. Lots of options for seating accompanied with multiple TVs. The Wife and I definitely enjoyed, and will return with the kids.

Stopped here after struggling to find somewhere for lunch besides a toby carvery. Pulled up big car park nice looking building. Walked in and was lovely inside clean and friendly staff as soon as you walk in. Lots of seating away from main bar so found quite corner. We use hungry horse probably once a month in Kent where we live but food here was fantastic hot and fresh. Had holumi fries which were fantastic and steak on a pie highly recommend that. Servers checked us regularly and when I asked if he could bring few drinks to table it was no issue. Will definitely be back here when visiting the in laws again. Outside seating areas aswell although bit cold this time of year. Thanks for lovely lunch.

El chef vino a nosotros y parecía estar mal informado por lo que pedimos. ! Reservamos en línea en noviembre para la esposa Brithday, que era hoy 15 de diciembre No recibes el dulce que ordenaste Pedimos Apple Crumble sino que obtuviste Apple Crumble & Custard.
