Delicious, fresh Greek food with generous portions. The owner is very kind too.

Tried this place on a recommendation. The food was good until we got to the chicken skewer. We discovered the chicken we ate was quite pink too late and had minor food poisoning for 3 days as a result. Make sure you check this guy's chicken before you eat it!

AVOID THIS PLACE! Rude staff and owners. Dirty plates and cutlery wouldn’t swap them for clean ones.. and when we found what appeared to be a bug in food we was sworn at and eventually thrown out after being forced to pay or they would have called the police. Will not be visiting again

* NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY * Disgusting owner, screamed at my baby for playing in an area which wasn’t related to his restaurant. He screamed in front of the whole establishment over some toys cars. Very upset baby. Would never give such a cruel man my money and custom. *NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY!! *

Also with regards to the unfair review left. He did not scream at anyone, especially a baby. I was here the whole time, the owner simply asked who's baby was riding on the display vintage car belonging to another business. The parents and children had been asked multiple times buy different people who work here if they could not touch the items.

Slow roasted lamb pita wrap absolutely delicious and the houmous had a fantastic flavor. This place is a hidden gem

We had a large Greek salad , wedges and two main courses (stuffed peppers and spinach pie) all freshly made and very tasty for £27 all in . Great value , great cooking , nice fella who chatted with us despite being very busy, and we also felt that the food was authentically Greek , having travelled throughout Greece widely and visited many a Greek restaurant over the years . Thank you for a good meal.

I believe in honest reviews - so have scored the food as average, which is what it truly was. The Tsastsiki was very bland. Only one skewer of small, dry chicken with a pita for £12.00 - definately not value for money. The salad was really just a side garnish of tomatoes, 2 slices of cucumber and some red onion, no tasty Greek dressing either, so again bland. To be fair the potato wedges were very good though. Perhaps others reviewing have not had real Greek food experiences - you can get better for your money elsewhere.

Lovely traditional Greek food, small menu so everything is perfect and freshly prepared to order, the best Greek salad that I have had outside of Greece. Highly recommended.

Had the slow cooked lamb on pita with all the trimmings.. tender, Juicy, full of flavour and Accompanied by a beetroot relish and pomegranate.. out of this world!! Also had spinach pie and a stuffed pepper but couldn't stop eating to even take pictures! Definitely nailed this one!!!

Absolutely delicious and freshly cooked greek food. I had the best spinach pie ever and a beetroot salad with feta and pomegranate - lots of lovely textures and tastes... yum!

I don't know how they produce such great food from such a small kitchen. We had chicken open pitta which at £8.50 was great value. Really tasty with great flavours. The food venue is set in an old building with little kitchens set around a group of tables. You order from which kitchen you want and pay and they bring the food to you. Great food and great atmosphere. Definitely will go back

Went here today, not planned, just found it in the Market. The food was beyond fantastic, best Greek Food I’ve had and will absolutely return. The owner was very hospitable and friendly.

Really cannot fault the food or service from The Greek Kitchen - all cooked by a really great guy who made sure to give us some free houmous on the side for our toddler daughter having made sure that she tried it to check that she liked it. Even the water bottles they sell are sourced from Greece, as is the salt he uses in his recipes. The Old Kent Market is well worth a visit in any case, and it can be tricky to find a seat, but I would strongly recommend eating here. We certainly will be again on our next visit. Thanks guys!

Absolutely delicious food , tasted really authentic and was fresh , full of flavour just really hit the spot. Staff were lovely and friendly even going above and beyond what they needed to , would definitely recommend this to anyone, perfect service and food.

A group of us got takeaway food as we were working. The food tastes great hence 3 stars BUT, portions were tiny. £5.50 for a small pot of Greek salad with feta is a ridiculous price....the equivalent from a supermarket deli counter would be £2-3.00 at the most. We won't be back...

Fantastic find today in the Old Market. As a family we enjoyed Pork Gyros and Lamb pittas, and Yemista. All fresh with great flavours. Pittas were soft, pliable and easy to bite through but holding together well. Entourage excellently judged and balanced with the succulent meat. The Yemista was lovely sweet and savoury. Rich flavours with vibrant yet mild herbs and made for a nicely filling dish. Perhaps I was enjoying things too much as my only criticism for such a well cooked hearty lunch was that it was gone maybe a little too soon. But then my little one gradually tasted her way through all of it too, which considering her selectiveness is also a great deal of approval. Intend to come again!

Thanks Thanos for an amazing meal yesterday. It was my mums birthday yesterday and the food you cooked for us was amazing. I haven’t had lamb moussaka since last year in Greece and it was 10/10. The vegan dishes were also amazing. Look forward to my next order 👍🏻

Only had the Greek salad so can't comment on the souvlaki. However, the salad was outstanding (freshly prepared too) and the queue for souvlakis suggests you should try one.

This place has the best food and an amazing atmosphere. The chef was happy to show me the ropes of how to make our food when I ate it I was so amazed we came back for dinner!!!! I would HIGHLY recommend well worth it :)))) Abbey age 12

Just nipped in for lunch on my own..had Chicken Souvlaki pitta wrap with tzatziki .Freshly cooked chicken amazing pitta bread and great tzatziki. Very authentic Greek .. Well worth visit and The Old Kent Market is a great place to sit and people watch ..good atmosphere !

Having worked all morning, and wishing to support our local business's, was staggered to choose this eatery, amongst many others in Margate for a late lunch, and to be told that the dish they were serving, and was visible was only available to staff !? This is despite asking wish item on the menu it was and being told by a young lad it was a mixture of various advertised. When asked if we could order the same , the mature man (possible the owner), came over and said that the quantities were not easily measurable etc etc. Utter madness, and quite unbelievable, so this paying, local customer said fine, and ate elsewhere.

This is a new place in the Old Kent Market, only been open a few days but already a success, the owner is very proud of his cuisine and rightfully so, we sat with wraps full of soft succulent chicken and tzatziki and left with homemade hummus and lovely Greek feta cheese for our supper. Delightful
