The Great Escape Café in Birmingham

First time coming here and the atmosphere is so nice and the decor was so unique but beautiful. Thee staff were so lovely and patient with our long order, and the food was a decent price and amazing quality, all of my family thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the experience we had here. 100 percent recommend and 100 percent coming back here again

Breakfast was tasty and just the right portion , had a large breakfast that came with a free cup of tea or coffee. such a nice chilled vibe inside and service with a smile so i will defo return😀

Food bad yasso, this means really good to a high spec here,cater for vegetarian too made me feel welcome aswell... I have moved away now but will travel to eat here wherever in the city I am, it's that good...xxxx

Welcoming and cosy atmosphere. The decor here is very nice. It's classic decor with lot of historic things. It's perfect spot to grab coffee or meal. Recently had big breakfast and it really hit the spot. Plus service is always so friendly and welcoming. There are two separate toilets facilities for ladies and gents. Parking is an issue. But you can park on side roads.

Wouldn't say it's high quality food unfortunately for the price I can Cook at home 😊 lol that being said it's nice atmosphere and location the girls are sweet when it comes to service and the older lady always smiling

Such a beautiful place to go to eat and relax in there, very tasty food well presented and quickly served,the staff are very helpful and dynamic, the design inspired from the prison opposite the Cafe which is a great idea. 😊

Staff were unfriendly and forgot half our order. Food was mediocre and not the best quality. I felt unwell after eating there.

Menu is amazing, I haven't tasted food. But unfortunately the staff put me off .Customer skills very poorly.Staff are very rude behaved way of dealing with a person totally out of order..I dont recommend this place.Alot of bad vibes.

Preety location, aesthetically pleasing and clean. Good was fab, there was a problem with my order and the staff were happy to replace my food as soon as I mentioned it. Will 100% return here :)

I Was extremely impressed with this cafe. They have a great menu with a nice variety of options. The place is clean, staff were attentive to all my needs and i had & awesome breakfast. Highly recommend this place without a doubt.

Never heard of this place, a friend found it and wanted to visit. Upon entering you notice the funkiness of the place, where it wasn't robotic in a sense of everything had to look the same, and I loved that! The creative design and decor reallyakes the place Pop! From suitcase on the wall to fun childhood games to play such as connect 4, monopoly and more. This seemed like a great place to relax straight off the bat. We were told to take a seat anywhere and when ready to order come to the counter. The tables have menus under the glass tops so you're never without a menu (as some restaurants take them away). I decided to purchase the full English and my friend had a sandwich, but when our plates came out the kitchen, I was not disappointed! It looked amazing, so good my friend was in regret as to what he ordered, the quality was very evident, the food was prepared with care and the presentation was spot on. When eating the food, it was crunchy where needed and juicy where needed, the staff were lovely too. They have toilets on premises too, always a bonus, male and female split. Overall, really enjoyed this place and would revisit, 100%. Only reason for 4 stars is, if the quality and service remains the same the next time, it's a 5 no doubt! This place is also halal, great that it caters to all. PS: love the name, situated right opposite a prison, this really is 'The Great Escape'.

Been to this place once, i really loved the food and the service, also the prices are fair. Lovely and friendly people surely will visit again.

Thought I'd give this place a try as I was passing by. Cafe was empty. Approx 4 to 5 staff were in. After entering I was told to sit anywhere, menus stuck on the table. Lady said 'ill come over'. After waiting at table for 15 minutes, looking around at the waitresses but they failed to even notice me trying to get their attention. I decided to walk out. Communication is poor, no clear instructions to inform customers to order at till which I find strange given the amount of staff that were in the cafe at the time. Lack of parking is an issue as well. Won't be coming back in a hurry.

Visited the great escape cafe which was recommended by a friend. Nice variety to choose from on the menu and drinks selection Food was served promptly and tasted amazing!! service was brilliant and staff were very welcoming. We were asked if everything was ok and felt very comfortable. Decor there was beautiful and environment was spotless & clean. We Will definitely be visiting again 😊

Somewhere to take my son and myself after visiting HMP, will be using regularly to do something after visits to ease back into home life after visits.

Nice place to have a brew or a main meal too.

The food was really good here, the staff was ok but didn’t come over to see if everything was ok and the other thing was that we went first thing in the morning and the tables and floor wasn’t clean so that could do with some improvement☺️

We met friends to do Edgbaston parkrun and then brought here for breakfast after. Was a fab cafe with games to play with lots of memorabilia. Didn't have much on the menu for me being vegan however they did do me something and had alternative milk for a nice latte. Was a fab little place and will definitely come along again as the staff were super friendly 👍

Very lovely breakfast which was beautifully cooked. The decor was also very cozy. My husband and I really enjoyed our morning here and the staff were very kind and attentive! Will definitely be visiting this local bistro often!
