Amazing place and a fantastic atmosphere......

Only here for the party! Has my favourite beer on tap, so happy with that.

It’s not a trip to Liverpool for us without drinks in the Grapes. Staff and entertainment are amazing, and just about starting to feel like locals… in our dreams! We love you ladies - Ryan and Tammi xx

Very disappointed with this pub in the middle of Matthew st where so many visitors come to visit. It in desperate need of a new carpet and a coat of paint. Very smelly!!

Crap, horrible smell, dirty sticky seats.never again.

It's a weird and wonderful pub, we always go in for a pint when visiting, it's full of the most odd people (us included) it's cheap booze and open till 2-3am so always the last man standing haha

Good pub for good beer and karaoke!

We only live a short distance from Liverpool on The Wirral and have been to The Grapes many times. A great traditional, historic pub with a great vibe. Live music most of the time, Dominic Bassnett is an amazing singer and sings for hours with a very wide range from Tom Jones, The Killers, Elton John, Queen, even Pavarotti, and much more. Free to get in. Highly recommended

We were looked after by Ava - the wee Irish firecracker from Londonderry. She recommended the Irn Bru because we were Scottish + which went down a treat, but we avoided the Iron Brew WKD. Ava has a very caring and welcoming attittude to customers. We recommend to anyone looking for a friendly Cavern Quarter experience 😉

Great old pub lots of history and best karaoke on liverpool

It’s pretty lame. Seems like they’re happy with the customers they’ve already got and aren’t looking for new ones. The beers are trash anyway.

Great Atmosphere, good mix of people. Was busy but worth the wait. Karaoke,good drinks.

It's OK. Old school pub. It was busy on a bank holiday afternoon. Guy running the Karaoke certainly loved being the centre of attention....but too much so and not to my taste. OK place to have a drink. A bit smelly round by where the toilets are.

Dingy and smelly. It's a place to go if you're a drunk or a bored local. Rude staff. They may as well be drinking cause they look drunk serving me.

This Yank hasn't been to The Grapes since 1983 (ratings based on memory). I assume the sheet metal "horse trough" in the gents no longer remains. Loved that feature, as I did the entire Grapes atmosphere. Won a bottle of vodka in a raffle the pub sponsored.

The actual pub itself is great but I found a particular member of staff extremely rude I could understand if I was a drunk or disruptive customer a huge customer and staff relationship is needed especially with her… the so called friendly welcome wasn’t present here .

Really enjoyed the reasonably priced drinks and Karaoke.

Fabulous pub, great beer friendly staff and great music, a lot of history in this place.

Absolutely great atmosphere and good company, after stumbling in randomly on our way to the cavern club we ended up staying here all night! Will definitely be visiting again next time we go to Liverpool

Great pub perfect for a drink in the afternoon

Good atmosphere, but terrible service, mistreated employee yells at customers, even though she was consuming, my friend was kicked out of the place screaming by a manager who doesn't even have any politeness, it was stupid. I don't recommend anyone to go. And seeing reviews isn't the first time, it's normal for the establishment to mistreat customers.

The service and workers is not good, they are rude with the clients, if you don’t want to pass a bad time don’t go there

It's a terrible place, they kicked me and my friends out. Don't go if you don't want to suffer bad treatment from the people who work there.

I received extremely poor service from the manager. I'm an exchange student and I was celebrating the end of my course. Even after I bought my drink, he insisted that I wasn't drinking it and kicked me out of the place, one more time. Yelling. Several people saw it and helped me. More or less, 20 people left the establishment with me, it was so absurd. Really unacceptable. This man cannot work with the public under any circumstances.

Great place at the heart of Mathew street .Many customers with mega Characters pass through .Geat for people watching !! Beer selection and Prices good ! The place could do with a refit in the toilet area .The security do a good job keeping people outside from having glass ware .Karoke is a hit with many people .some better singers than others .

Great place for a beer! There’s no food but the staff is friendly! Now there is an offer, pint 2,60 until 5pm (Monday to Thursday). And you can sit where the Beatles used to sit!

This was a Monday night, a brilliant local singer.

16.80£ for two pints of english ale sounds like a scam. It means 8.40£ per pint, kinda Dubai prices...

I only popped in for a pint at midday. whilst on a visit to the city. Was quiet and relaxing. The irish girl who served me was disinterested with the clientele but that's OK, no problem

‘Once favoured by the Beatles’ but now had all the character ripped out and looks like every other pub chain pub in the uk. What a shame. It used to have soul. Some of the older reviews on here show how it used to be. Such a shame.

First time in this bar and what a fabulous place ,the guy singing yesterday, 31st March had an outstanding voice and the guy who did the drag act too ,was brilliant Amazing atmosphere and half price prosecco till 6 Will definitely be back when we next visit Liverpool

I had yet another bad experience again here after getting hit in the face last time by a lady that claimed she was the manager. They told me they sorted it but then I had another bad experience. The bartender was very rude and I had to keep pointing at the drink I wanted. She went over by my table, I don't know what she did, maybe dancing,maybe had a few beers herself? All the customers were looking at her like she was crazy. Not very professional. Not my favourite place. Going to stop being a regular as it's a bit of a dodgy place in my opinion. Just need to make sure staff is not under the influence. This is a major concern in my opinion.

Late night in Liverpool, karaoke bar! Drinks were a decent price compared to some places, there is always karaoke available or music playing. The toilets were clean, which is always a bonus. The floor was sticky though from spilt drinks. All in all not a bad place to visit as part of a night out

Went in there today which was a Friday, they had a A Board out side saying £2.50!a pint of fosters when I order a pint they charged me £4.90 a pint for a rubbish flat pint of Fosters in a very shabby smelly Matthew st Pub, the pub manager said the offer is Monday till Thursday so asked why was the A board out on a Friday !! Now this place is a must if you want to feel the true atmosphere of Liverpool, i went here on the works night out everyone was singing dancing and having fun .

One of the best and most historic pubs in Liverpool. The building itself it worth a visit even if you don't fancy a drink. Staff are friendly and willing to help.

Stopped of here initially for one drink while a group of us decided where to eat while staying in Liverpool and what a gem of a pub great atmosphere friendly staff and great banter with the regulars and this was on a Monday night , so we can imagine what the weekend atmosphere must be like a must for anyone , and you must sit in the most famous seats in Liverpool , will let you find out why .....

What can I say about The Grape what an amazing place to have a drink, laugh, dance and a little sing song. Staff and the people made you feel very welcome. All so friendly. Good old fashioned pub with lively atmosphere. For a venue in a busy tourist area prices are kept very reasonable and as a UK native,although not from Liverpool, it's so nice to think our international visitors are not getting ripped off as so often happens in other places.
