This place is great! Authentic and delicious Indian-Yemeni food. The service could not be better: the waitress, Ashleigh, is always very nice and attentive. I would say they serve the best lamb biryani in Lodge lane. They even cook the food less spicy just for me. Happy to be your customer. Keep it up!

Got a large portion of food. The food was tasty. Staff is friendly up to some extent. Toilets are fine. The place atmosphere is normal. A bit noisy. Not because of crowd. I mean when we were there, there were no crowd at all. But since the shop is near to the main road, and the tv, we felt that the atmosphere is bit noisy. Service is fine.

I don’t how and why, but since the beginning of Ramadan, when the people usually try to do good deeds, they started to put less and less meat, on my last meal, when I ordered lamb Mandi they put a bone with barely any meat on it. When I ask for extra, which used to be their normal before Ramadan, they charged extra. Sad

Me and my family of four came here to eat for iftar and they had a buffet and said they didn’t take order then only buffet so we paid and got the food went downstairs to eat and when we needed a refill we went upstairs and the main dishes were empty we asked the staff about the food and that the kids couldn’t eat and they rudely replied I took half price for your kid and didn’t let us order or refund the food was mid with no quality. Don’t recommend at all the staff ignored what we said and when we asked for some soup they said it was finished and we went upstairs to see it full. Absolutely rubbish customer care cannot even speak English correctly. Don’t recommend. Thank You.

A failed restaurant and the rice is little. You order chicken and you get meat. You order meat and you get chicken and the yogurt is poured into the bag and the rice is very little (I do not recommend it)

DO NOT RECCOMEND FOR AN INDIAN!!! As of December 2023! The new owner clearly got it wrong when thinking he could somehow cook Indian food without the training! It's an Arabic style food restaurant! Dirty cups ... old flour used for a roti and bland curry that didn't taste like a curry. Asked for it to be recorded with spice and they cut up green chilling and provided chilli sauce sides!!! Biggest waste of money I've had in a long time. False Advertising Door is sellotaped closed and swings open in the wind!

A wonderful restaurant with delicious food and one of the best restaurants in Britain. I hope it continues at this level. My favorite dishes are fahsa, meat and fish.

My son bought us a takeaway from GRU last night, it was my first time to eat from here. He ordered a mixed grill, a tray with rice & tender lamb (the rice is out of this world!) Also, separate rice & chicken curry. I am no stranger to restaurant food, but I can say in all honesty that the food is so delicious, the best I have tasted in a long time. It is apparent that the food wasn't just thrown together hurriedly, you can taste the TLC with which it was produced. GRU have certainly gained a new customer, my family and I look forward to our next meal from there. Good work, good food, well worth the wait. Our compliments to the chefs

The quantity was great, it was budget friendly. We ordered the grilled fish with rice. Overall the fish was real good, a little charred on the sides and the fries were great. The service was good.

I had a very bad experience today. I ordered Chicken Mandi and Lamb mandi. We waited for around half an hour for the soup, which only received after requesting. When we finished soup, had to wait again for more than 5 mins and still we have to request for the mandi. The mandi rice what we received was so dry and cold. The chicken was so bland and lamb tasted moderate. Customer service is very poor and eventhough it's in great quantity, the quality was not as expected. Overall hygiene is perfect. But service is so poor than I ever had....

What an amazing place. It’s a gem on Lodge Lane, especially downstairs. The food is amazing. We had a Tandoori Fish, Lamb Fahsa, Chicken Mandi among other things. They were all delectable. 10/10. The service from the front staff was really good too. I recommend it 100% and I can’t wait to come back soon.

Food and atmosphere is nice but when you ordered something they consume very time I was there for my breakfast lady told me 10 mints but instead of 10 mints it took 40 mints which is not good my guests were waiting for me

Food was good, very tasty. We got Mandi lamb and it was so tender and soft. Grilled chicken…not so much, but still very tasty. You do have to wait a bit for food. We waited for 40 minutes the first time but the Mandi lamb was worth it. We also tried vindaloo there but it was a disaster. I wouldn’t recommend that. Ever.

Outstanding customer service from the waitress Ayo. Always super bubbly and welcoming every time we’ve come, food is amazing too I always get the small meat plate (lamb strips) which is seasoned to perfection with the naan bread. There’s complimentary lamb soup and sauces before your meal.

The New GRU restaurant, tried it yesterday evening, I found the service absolutely excellent, the whole GRU team are welcoming and professional, the quality of the food is actually outstanding and I have to say that those people visiting the great City of Liverpool really need to get a taxi and get on over to the Lodge lane community, where GRU is situated. Absolutely amazing food, I highly recommend this establishment.

Amazing hidden gem you all must go and try this place for food it’s amazing and we love good food. Staff were lovely very welcoming and they even have a private dining area on the bottom floor, we would highly recommend this restaurant enjoy 😉

Being from Bradford (and being half Asian) and saying I want it Asian style, ordering a chicken karahi it was embarrassing. Might as well of been from Asda’s frozen section shocking really. Weird green colour, about 4 pieces of chicken. No green chillis, no fresh ginger, no coriander.

Few times I tried the food was bad quality and made me sick. And I tried today their lamb kebab but it was not lamb it was beef and again very bad quality and tough as rubber.

Worst food. It's not Indian at all. Hygiene level is so poor. The locality is not good either. I won't recommend this for Indian food. The restaurant is Yemeni or Afghani. I fell sick after eating here. A big no no

We tried this restaurant at the request of some friends saying it was good. We ordered naan and butter chicken and biryani. Quantity was good, but quality of naan was not good. It was sooo thick, we literally had pain in our jaws :( Butter chicken was ok to start with, but again the chicken biryani was a disaster. It tasted aweful and the masala tasted so raw. We ended up wasting it all. Highly dissatisfied !

Waited an hour and half for food which should have only taken half hour to come, call the restaurant to find out where the food is, and then they cancel the food right there and then on the phone. Terrible service.

Really impressed by this place. The food was all really fragrant and tasty. Service was very good, our server had excellent knowledge of the menu and helped with recommendations. Would suggest getting the lime and mint lemonade, one of the nicest drinks I've ever had.

I have tried lamb mandi more than 3 times. Honestly it’s good. I have seen Yemenis local eating at GRU too.

Very bad service! I ordered a dinner at night and I was waiting 45 minutes for the food which never arrived. Apparently they closed the restaurant and left me starving waiting for their food for 3 hours without answering my calls.

Horrible service, I have ordered food for me and my family and we were counting on it and the food never arrived. Absolutely wouldn’t recommend it

Been ordering food delivery from them in the past few weeks. Tasty food, good portions and reasonably priced. Would be even better if there're more vegan options and if the food packaging can be more environmentally friendly.

The food is really good: flavoursome, not greasy, varied and interesting. The whole place is spotlessly clean, efficiently run and with friendly service who were kind in accepting a certain amount of mess and kerfuffle from our two small children. We've already ordered take away (also far better than almost any other takeaway we've had in the area) from them again since our visit earlier this week, and will be back to the restaurant in future too.
