Food was mid but the atmosphere was lively

The place is really spacious and lovely, and it has a snooker board and high barstools. There is also a separate place for birthday celebration and others. The highlight was the receptionist was who very delightful and helpful. The meals were tasty and sometimes a bit salty, but overall I loved the meals. I also took the Nkwobi, which is sauced cow meat with diced onion rings, and this was really good. So I got Isi Ewu (which is sauced goat meat with diced onion rings). I would recommend the place anytime.

I was attended to warmly by the fair lady receptionist. And the food tasted well. Ordered Fried rice, plantain & chicken for myself, and Poundo yam & Efo riro for my partner. If I ever come by Leeds, I wouldn't mind ordering again. 🤗

The good is really good You should try out their vegetable soup (efo riro)

Food ordered fried meat which was very black burnt dry rice , food was wrapped in foil papers.yams was dry it had coated white lines which the market sellers add to cut yams very disappointed with overall order . waste of money

Ordered online and this is the 6th time our order is wrong. The guy l spoke to was pretty useless and did not help at all. To me these guys are only interested in the money and not serving the customer. It was much better when the business was run by different people, now this is a joke of a business. Never again, mnxxxm.

Was starving. Went to dine with my wife and we placed our order. it actually took 58 minutes before my wife's food was eventually brought and an extra 15 minutes before mine was brought!!! There was no apology with the delay and there was no explanation. Nothing! Considering the bar was empty, I expected the food to be served on time. When my meal was eventually brought, the garri was just a tiny lump with a huge bowl of okra soup! This would not fly if the business was run by Caucasians but hey, it's an African restaurant so anything goes!! Here are a few tips: 1. If the meal is going to take long to be prepared, tell the customer in advance! 2. ALWAYS APOLOGIZE in the event you have made a service failure. Will I dine there again?? Never again!

Is a nice place for conventional African food, and their food are very delicious with good value for money 💰. The bar is a very good place for relaxation, listening to afrobeat songs with a good snooker 🎱 board. I enjoyed every bit of time ⏲️ spent at the bar 🍸

Sold poundo for me in place of pounded yam having reaffirmed to me they had pounded yam. Goat pepper soup not that good but not bad.

There was no welcoming feel, and the member of staff at the bar looked at us like we were lost. Most of the food on the menu was not available. And when we ordered what was available, I was so disappointed. I ordered Oakra soup. The only meat in the soup was tripe, and it just tasted bland. When we made a complaint to the member of staff, he blamed everything on the chef . All in all, I'd not recommend anyone to eat here. I've got to a lot of African restaurants across the country. This is by far the worst.......

Ordered mazondo and sadza , the sauce alone was good but mazondo were under cooked. There was a mixture of cooked and uncooked mazondo. It's hard for me to say I will go back if there is no consistency in food in one plate.

Bar staff were rude, did not offer a glass with the beer. When ordering food, asked to confirm the order was correct and was met with angry response. In the first instance the wrong food was placed on our table. On the second instance the wrong food was again given to us. Poor service and did not get what was ordered.

Friendly staff. I'm always here for nyama choma, ugali, fish and oh! chapati. Tasty food I must commend. Good music. Perfect spot to chill and relax especially if missing home.

Absolutely disgraceful customer service. If I could give them -5 stars if I could. We rang to tell them that the fish stew was missing from our order when it was delivered and the cashier proceeded to LIE and claim he tried calling us to inform us it was out of stock, when he clearly didn’t. We then asked him if we could have a substitute because we can’t eat rice dry without any stew, he then agreed and said he would send us out beef stew straight away once the delivery driver had got back to the shop. 40 minutes later still nothing so we decided to call back to find out where it was. The cashier once again LIED and said the delivery driver came in and asked for the beef stew to bring to us? This would not have been possible as the delivery driver didn’t even know we rang them to ask for the substitute, only the cashier did. Not to mention the suya was 60% bone and 40% meat which we had paid £12 for. After 10 minutes of this man being rude to me and saying there’s nothing he can do and raising his voice at me I had to terminate the call because I was so upset. We have ordered from Grand Valley many times before and being native Nigerians ourselves absolutely loved the food. However, after this incident I can hand on my heart say we will NEVER be ordering from them again. For customers who regularly orders from them, the way they spoke to me really disappointed me and upset me. I ADVISE ANYONE THINKING OF ORDERING FROM THIS PLACE DO NOT!!!! The worse experience I have had in a very long time. Now I am left to eat dry rice and dry boney beef. Disgraceful.

Food was rubbish and presentation of food shocking and the person serving was somehow corky won't visit ever or tell anyone I know yo visit... its all about the money making but not customer satisfaction

We ordered suya, jellof rice, tilapia fish, egwusi soup, ogbono soup, pounded yam, and ugali and they were top notch.... Thank you so much for making me not miss African Dishes. Keep it 💯 up.

I ordered ogbono soup and it was horrible. It left a soapy taste in both of our mouths! it was clearly not fresh! Sadly i will avoid this place in the future

Placed an order, the beef stew did not have enough beef in it, barely any stew in what I ordered, called and cut the call on me mid convo about my situation. Did not complain was just surprised seen am a regular at theirs. Advice for customers stay clear not worth it.

I’m not sure which African country you chefs are from but please do better with people’s meals & have knowledge of how the food is prepared if you’re not sure. My sadza today was horrible, like mashed potatoes. Not impressed at all. Threw it away! Usually everything else that I’ve tried from here is ok. I’ll give a 6/10 overall. There’s improvement needed however. We want to have our moneys worth & continue supporting our fellow Africans in the future.

I have been here twice. The first time I got suya which was nice. The second visit was with family and friends. Some of us ordered jollof rice and fried rice and some others went for swallow and soup. The jollof rice and fried rice were horrible, it was a total waste of money while the swallow and soup made alot of sense. If I visit again, I would never go for either jollof rice or fried rice

Really disappointing visit here this evening. Asked for the kids to meal to come first but the young girl behind the bar said it’s not possible, fish fingers and chips should have been the easiest and quickest thing to make considering it’s freezer food. So I purchased a packet of walkers crisps in the meantime to keep the hungry toddler happy. The crisps went out of date 2 months ago plus no disabled toilets/baby change facilities. We waited over an hour for dry, cold hard Jollof, soggy fried rice, frozen cold suya and Luke warm pounded yam, dry fish stew. To make matters worse the fish fingers were oily and soggy and the chips came 10mins late. I’ve never paid for and received such abysmal food! The actual ambiance and music was great and it works so much better as a bar! Put some more pool tables in and have a bbq out back making suya/street food rather than trying to run a kitchen. Or get a proper chef who would be embarrassed to serve food like that.

The food was great and the staff was very professional.

This is a cosy place combining a restaurant, pool table and a bar with facility for transforming part of the restaurant into a private function space for a birthday or similar event. A Southern African menu is a key attraction - try the Nyama choma (BBQ beef), Ntaba (fried goat) or even fried tilapia. It is not very large but can manage space for a spot of dancing and some music. The TVs on the walls tend to show some sports, so yes the kids won't be traumatised by adult or violent scenes. The toilets can be wanting when there is a crowd otherwise they are generally clean and well maintained. Good selection of drinks. I even had a cup of tea! Parking is around at the back of the premises. Recent roadworks around this place make parking a bit frustrating. I haven't noticed any wheelchair users here but that is something for managers to consider.

Worst food ever. Kept us waiting over an hour for the most dry chicken I've ever eaten. Only good thing was the jollof rice and plantain. Plus the place is freezing cold. Avoid like the plague

What a waste of time. We ordered 3 times on a row and all the 3 times they got the orders wrong. Spoke to a lady called Debra who had no idea what she was talking about.l won’t order from them anymore!!!

Good food, but the wait is long..

It’s a nice place to be. The staffs are so friendly and their prices are very reasonable. It’s always good to try then to be told.. you wouldn’t regret.

The staff are friendly and welcoming, their food is delicious. I have been buying food from there for quite a while now and I keep recommending that they should cook their dishes without and with spicy so that it suits customer's choices and some people like me who do not eat spicy food can also enjoy their dishes too but to no avail ,nothing is taken into consideration.

Amazing place, function room available, we had our birthday party there...I will highly recommend it to everybody! Staff is so friendly and helpful, prices are not to high for quality...Love It!

This bar and kitchen is very clean and serve very tasty African dishes. Staff are very polite as well. Have a variety of tasty options on their menu. Highly recommend their berbecue meat!

I’ve been to the grand several times and will keep going back! The atmosphere is very warm and relaxed with African music playing in the background. The staff are very welcoming and attentive to customer needs and requirements. The bathrooms superb and clean and the food price very reasonable and tasty for picky eaters like myself Highly recommend it for anyone who wants to remember or try African vibe and food. Plenty of space and parking for private parties and celebrations or just with mates/kids.

We just went for a Sunday afternoon meal and we would really recommend it, particularly the fried plantain! The staff were really friendly and happy to explain the menu. They do keep the music up pretty loud, but we could still chat. There was also a cool selection of African beers to try. Definitely Armley Good Stuff!

Great customer service with a smile and laughter. The atmosphere is infectious!!. Just good feel vibez! The food is gorgeous. My favourite was nyamachoma which was was on point!
