Shimlas Leeds in Leeds

I’ve been a customer for a long time because they have good chicken kebabs at a fair price. I usually eat in and take some food to go before I leave. But when I get takeaways, the portion is always about half of what I get when I eat in, which feels shady since it’s happened three times. They’re definitely doing it on purpose. Also, the music is always so loud that you have to shout to talk to anyone, which kind of ruins the atmosphere.

So as I came in to collect my order I was not served and then two delivery drivers came in after me and were served before I had to ask for my order. I ordered chicken tikka on naan and there was hardly any chicken pieces and it had just been covered over by salad to make it look full. I have had food from Shimlas before and is normally nice but maybe due to business the food was not the same

Clean and fresh! The food was spot on as usual at Shimlas, portions are generous and pricing is fair. Can’t complain and consistent across all the shimlas. Fried fish was beautiful, the dynamite chicken sauce was spot on, with the crispy chicken batter. Naan was fresh and fluffy with fresh chicken donner!

food is banging but customer service is really poor we wanted to pay separately but they said we can’t one of my friend ordered takeout at the beginning he mentioned to made it separate and he paid it as well but still it showed on our main bill and they were not happy and rude must improve your services cause you have good food

Located on Roundhay Road, Shimla's is a good edition to Leeds dining scene. The starters are 5 star mains are also very good. Overall it is a good place to visit for proper meal or a quick bite. Service is great and the atmosphere was good. One of the best indian/Pakistani food in Leeds. Will highly Recommended. Located opposite CC Continental on Roundhay Road, Shimla's can be easily spotted from the road. There is parking to the rear of the restaurant. The place has a good atmosphere. The time we went out was quiet, and we got our table quite quickly. Ordered Seekh kebab, Lamb Chops, and chicken wings for starter. It took a while for food to arrive, which was not very good as the place was quiet. With regards to state, the Kebab was the best that I have eaten in Leeds juicy and full of flavour. The sauces were flavoursome infact were quite good. The lamb chops were really soft and full of flavour, and they were really good. The wings, in my opinion, were good but not special. For the main ordered Chicken Donner, fish donner. The chicken donner was quite plain/bland and could have done with a bit seasoning, Would not order it again as the starters were really good. The fried donner was quite nice fried battered fish, not exactly donner. Following visit, tried meat karahi, biryani, chicken karahi and they are all really good. Overall, the food is really good. Will highly recommend the place.

I want to share my wonderful dining experience at Shimlas in Leeds. As soon as we arrived, Divanchi warmly greeted us and made us feel right at home. The quality of the food was exceptional, and I would definitely recommend Shimlas to anyone seeking a delightful and fulfilling dining experience.

Visited the store, as soon as we approached the counter the member of staff told us to wait as all the seats downstairs were full, we waited, the restaurant has a full upstairs area for seating but we were told we cant sit upstairs, we told him we are leaving, he didnt show no customer service in providing us a table, we then said we want to speak to the manager and as soon we said this he immediately said i can give you a table upstairs, which means he could have given the table upstairs but he didnt want to do the service upstairs. Also asked for mojitos and was told they dont have any, when they did, and he was giving to other tables (probably because he was angry at us for saying we want to speak to manager). Very disappointed with our experience, poor customer service, no apology from him and no respect at all! (THE STAFF MEMBERS PHOTO IS BELOW WHO GAVE POOR SERVICE)

I have eaten from Shimlas Leeds on many occasions. The food has always been delicious. On one occasion I had an issue with my food but the manager was quick to resolve the issue, ensuring I had very tasty food. I would definitely recommend Shimlas Leeds.

We ordered via UberEats for Shimlas’s Leeds . I was really unhappy and disappointed with the service we received from Shimlas and will not be ordering again. We ordered via UberEats and I clearly selected the option for sauces on 2x chicken donners (it is a signature item so even more reason for them to get this item right for customers!). Both our items came with no sauce on top and no sauces provided separately either. It was so frustrating as the sauces are a part of the meal. We paid good money for our food and it was not right. Not only that, the food was also stone cold when it arrived - which again, is not acceptable for a food establishment of that size. I immediately rang the restaurant when we opened up our food and realised the sauces were not provided and the order was wrong. I had an unhelpful response from the staff member member I spoke to and he didn’t even try and help. He informed me that he could ‘sort it next time we order’ but that is not good enough! He put the phone down on me when he couldn’t give me helpful answers. I will not be ordering again, after they gave us incorrect meals (for all I know, our meals may be with another customer and we were given some else’s order!) and failed to rectify it when I have asked. We have had issues with Shimlas service in the past (incorrect items delivered) but continued to give them the benefit of the doubt and re-order. However, we will not be ordering again.

Went for a meal at this brand, service was really slow even though there was hardly anyone in and food wasn’t bad although small hair was found in the donner we didn’t make a fuss of this, but when it came to the bill they tried to charge extra for mango chutney sauce (bearing in mind I’ve been to the Leeds and Bradford one many times and they have never charged for the extra sauce) after a fuss they amended the bill. Only to then charge the incorrect amount of a further £26 on card (the man positioned the card machine below so we couldn’t see the amount) only till we got the notification on top and he couldn’t refund back to original method only cash, the guy hasan who is a manager said only the owner is able to do so. How are you a manager of a store and can’t charge the correct amount neither refund back to the original method? Avoid. Unprofessional

Food was good but service zero,very impolite waitress with poor communication skill don't even speak or understand English and very hard to catch her attention Very poor for such a high standard restaurant like this hires people without basic knowledge

The food dishes have rich flavours and the signature shimla chicken donner with nan is a must try accompanied with there own chilli sauce👌 customer service Davinshi 10 out of 10 extremely pleasant and even during busier times kept attentive and a credit to the team.

I was here for dinner, I noticed that the food is precooked and refrigerated at time of service they just get it on fire for a while and serve it, everything was hot outside and cold inside. Whole food gone cold in just five minutes.

Food was unexpectedly great! We got the mixed starter, chicken donner in nan, and chicken kathai - all it was a lot better than expected (9/10) and very reasonable priced! Staff were also great and service was fantastic

Shami kebab wasn’t a shami kebab??? It was just a plain kebab. There was no daal inside to make it a shami kebab and the mixture hadn’t been mixed properly so it made mum vomit!

He always takes food from this restaurant and Praises about their service especially one of their staff names 'Azlan', who is very responsible, cordial and punctual. He is always conscious about needs and tries to cope up with customer demands as well as maintaining the queue. And last week I tried their foods that were also yummy. So this place is highly recommended for takeaways as well as dine in. Hospitality services by staff is really good must visit

We visited this place, family of 4, and the food was absolutely fantastic. Loved it, service was awesome, friendly, couldn't complain. We even came back the next evening, it was still excellent.

They didn't have any cola drink, no pina colada, the starters tasted like they were cooked weekly earlier but they main were really nice plus the place needs bit of cleaning especially the washroom 🚻

First time visiting this place with family and the place is very nice, well decorated and staff are very nice and helpful. Now about the food, the crispy naga wings were very nice, the naga creamy donner was also nice 👌🏽 but unfortunately I was let down by the grill menu. We ordered the mixed grill and the meat chops and I was very disappointed 😞 I love my mixed grills, it's what I always order when I eat out and this one was absolutely bone dry, all the meats were completely over cooked and dry, no juice what so ever, the plate the meat was on was dry no juices under the food like you get from a proper mixed grill. Chops were tough dry and just not enjoyable, you can even tell just by looking at the pictures, thats never good lol The others were good though and the price was good too. Just avoid the grill menu if you go 😄

We went there on Tuesday night and had a really bad experience I have ever had. The waiter was rude and the waitresses were trying to make us happy but unlucky. They don't bother because, there is not that many Restaurants that's why people have no choice. Anyway, not going there anymore.

The chicken in the mix grill was overcooked. The chicken was not the freshest. I couldn't really tatse the flavours of the marinade either. The fish masala was nice and had a crispy texture and was nice to eat I'd recommend this. The Naan bread was very nice and went well with the Fish Masala. Fries are nice and perfectly made. The staff are friendly, accommodating and polite with a smile. The seating was nice and the place in general was clean and tidy.

Food was absolutely awful. I think the quality of the place has gone down. There was a power cut whilst we were there. I can't help thinking that it might have been one of many, so not sure how fresh the food was. Either way, the food was awful. Chicken tikka looked like boiled meat, seekh kebabs looked deep fried and the curry had more oil in it than curry. Never going back!

I just ate at Shimla Restaurant and had a fantastic experience. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the staff's behavior was commendable. Ridhi and Hassan, in particular, were outstanding with their proper knowledge of the dishes. I highly recommend visiting Simla Restaurant for a great meal and a wonderful atmosphere.
