Had an amazing experience at Shimlas Leeds! The Magaz and Meat Karahi were absolutely delicious—rich, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The highlight of our visit was the super fantastic service from Hassan—attentive, friendly, and made our meal even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this place for great food and top-notch service!

Amazing food and amazing service

Absolutely amazing service… special shoutout to Hassan. He was so accommodating, answered 101 questions and was so so polite. He really made our meal. The food was delicious and very generous portion sizes. Great value for money and wasn’t super loud or crowded. We visited Leeds for the first time ever and will definitely recommend and be back!! Also one of the only places open at 1am.

Athria was excellent during our visit at Shimla. The food was amazing and tasted just as good as it looks. Highley recommend ! Thank you Athira your service was amazing.

I have been numorous times and everytime I visit I always think it will improve with the pace of the service and quality of food but i guess I was wrong, they have messed my order twice and this time the wings had alot of blood in both the naga wings and dynamite wings, I do hope this can be fixed as the quality is good but these kind of things are off putting, the service defo needs improvement on the takeaway side as people are waiting to be served but they tend to get calls first and ignore people that are waiting there before the phone is ringing this is shocking customer service.

The food was gorgeous, all the dishes complimented each other well, were cooked to perfection and were really reasonable portions for sharing. They got so many new curry additions to their menu. I do not recommend this place.they waiting time is ridiculous when you place an order they give 15-20 minutes and they take 45 minutes and the food is very disgusting I’m not happy with their service.

Poor service, iced cold food told them it’s cold waitress not even bothered ignored call again then microwaved it and re served it, it was on 29th January 2025 at 1:30pm we will never come back again

I don’t usually type up reviews as it’s never needed because I wouldn’t want to be nit picking but yesterday I had some food and it was shocking the chicken donner was dry as ever very tough and then the spring rolls where drenched with oil all I could taste was oil and that is not exaggerating told the waiter about it and all I got was… it’s usually not like that and that is it nothing more but yes now I have to be at work and here I am not able to as my stomach doesn’t allow me to all because I chose to eat at shimlas instead of a classic shahjahan down the road 🤒🤒

Never again; Stomach hurts next morning and it was the last thing I ate couldn’t get off toilet. Spent so much time on the toilet especially at work it nearly cost me my job. Won’t be going again 👎🏼

I don’t understand how this place is highly rated. Came here around 10pm and the waitress had a negative attitude, didn’t really answer any questions and overall put us off initially. We waited for the food and that was just as bad as the service. The butter chicken is very watery and the chicken had none of the fat cut off it. Waitress was no where to be seen but the kitchen. I will only compliment the naan which was nice but I really think this is one of the worst restaurants I’ve been to. I feel like I wasted my money here

Very polite but very slow. We were the only customers and it took them 50 minutes because they hadn't put the grill on. Food was worth the wait but it was very frustrating.

Amazing Dining Experience at Shimla Leeds I visited Shimla Leeds today and had a fantastic experience. We ordered Chicken Tikka Kabab, Mixed Kabab, Nuggets Kids Meal, and Milk Cake, and everything was absolutely delicious. The flavors were spot on, and the dishes were beautifully prepared. The service was top-notch, and a special thanks to Athira for her exceptional hospitality—she was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect. Had a wonderful experience here at shimlas Leeds, very hard to get the food and service both spot on these days but this restaurant make it look so easy, food is on point had chicken dinner which was recommended by the waiterss that was too good, had lamb shinvari on the bone and that was the best curry I have ever had in a restaurant in a very long time, proper authentic Desi taste takes you back to Pakistan, keep it up guys

First visit, takeaway. Mixed kebab. Meat was ok, little difficult to tell. Same with naan, nice around the edges. Meal spoiled by the famous sauce. Not the taste, the quantity. Opened the box and the food looked great, but once started tucking in found there was that much sauce pooled under the meat that some pieces of chicken were completely submerged. Removed what I could with a spoon but couldn't save it. I see from the menu your proud of your famous sauce, but nevertheless it's only an accompliament and not the main event. I had to dregde through it with my fork to find the meat and the naan was that saturated it was more like paper mashay. You were busy and maybe rushing, but please, a couple seconds more care and a little less slap dash and it mightve been a nice meal. Side note .... if you ask if I want salad .... give salad. I got a sprinkling of lettuce and onion, 1 pickled chilli. I had to bulk it out with some I had in the fridge. Didnt take a pic before I started. Only of what was left when I lost interest. Salad was my own .

Hi I just want to tell my experience about recently I ordered a boneless chick Karachi it was to salty I couldn't even eat it and I was so hungry I had to eat it and then I got a little bit of a headache. So can they give me my money back that was disgusting..

Today I have ordered three doner from Shimla. Earlier the quantity of food was good. Today I have received food in very less and shit quantity due to which I feel I have wasted my money 👎🏻👎🏻

Meat Chop Masala, Boiled Rice and Naan Bread - Delicious! I forgot to take a photo as the food smelt so good, hence the empty plate. You can taste the combinations of spices wrapped around the delicious chops. A thick and flavourful sauce. I will most definitely be ordering from Shimlas again.

I went to visit my local shimlas branch Roundhay Road on a Saturday morning with a friend and I had the mixed grill, whilst my friend had donner on naan. Service was great as we were the only customers and we came pretty much as soon as they opened. Usually I wouldn't have a meal this early on a morning but I wouldn't expect stomach pains and diarrhoea to follow. My friend experienced the same and I spoke to a colleague at shimlas about this who would inform me about any update as to how they will resolve this matter. It's been over a week now and I have had no response. This is absolutely appalling and I certainly will not be coming again. I will be reporting to food standard agency for lack of communication.

1st visit. Was seated upstairs and room temperature was cold it took a while for the room to heat up. There were 7 of us our mains were cold. The only thing I found was nice was the lassi. Cheesy naga was cold and below mid. Nephew found hair in the chicken wing, did tell waitress and nothing was said after that. Won’t be back here.

Good food. Very short staffed. Indian lady working is like superwoman - but please employ some staff as one person cant be expected to deliver customer service to an entire restaurant. Typical desi business model....spend big on shopfront, spend zero on people.

Restaurant Review: A Series of Disappointments I’ve been to this restaurant several times, hoping it would improve, but each visit has been a letdown. Last night was the tipping point. I brought a guest, only to be greeted with shockingly rude service. Despite the upstairs being completely empty, the waitress insisted we sit at a cramped table practically in the doorway or “go somewhere else.” We chose the latter, and it was the best decision of the evening. This isn’t the first time the restaurant has fallen short. From being overcharged on multiple occasions to enduring mediocre, substandard food, the experience is consistently frustrating. The dishes lack flavor, creativity, and any sense of care—hardly worth the price they charge. The staff’s attitude is another major issue. Unprofessional and indifferent at best, they seem entirely disinterested in making guests feel welcome. Hospitality is clearly not a priority here. I’ve given this place more chances than it deserves, and I won’t be back. There are far better dining options where your time, money, and presence are genuinely valued—this isn’t one of them.

We went last week and waited 45 mins for a chicken doner on nan, the service was not great but food was nice. I went again on Wednesday and was seated by ASAD I told him what had happened last week and I was not going to wait for 45 mins again he reassured us and said not to worry. He gave us great customer service and the food was out in 20 mins thank you really appreciated ASAD.

La comida terrible parece haber estado en la nevera durante siglos, la parrilla de mezcla difícil de masticar ni sabrosa en absoluto como la comida sobrante, la carne de comensal nunca debe servirse para animales extraviados, afirman que son el mejor lugar Shawarma, pero su shawarma no es comestible, nunca volverá a ir y evitará desperdiciar su dinero, los chicos no deberían estar en el negocio de la restauración
