The Grand Tandoori Kitchen in Newcastle upon Tyne

This hidden gem has been on the west road since 1989, genuine old school Indian takeaway ran by father & son. This is one of the best chicken tikka I’ve tried in Newcastle, soft, succulent and full of flavour, it’s was cooked to perfection! The Lentil and Bombay potato’s side dishes had perfect level of spices and flavour! I would definitely recommend to try out and visit !

Only ordered delivery twice and both times food was still hot and very tasty, delivery guy was spot on and delivery in half an hour. Will only use these from now on. Bang on the money and flavour is amazing

It hasn't been there and gannin strang for so lang fo' nee reason . Their bait is banging ,man. Staff are sound innal , but their bait is proper banging. Go on! yill not be disappointed, kidda. Did I mention owt about the bait?

Ordered from here tonight just for a change, the guy in the shop was lovely talking about footy and just came across as a friendly person, the food was really tasty and curry sauce was thick and had loads of flavour, also plenty of meat at a really good price. Would definitely recommend, we will be ordering a selection of dishes next time as this was only reviewed on masala sauce and a chicken mushroom curry.

We ordered vegetable curry and garlic nan. I told him I wanted the curry to be spicy, but the curry was sweet and when we called him on the phone says our curry’s are sweet and he started abusing and says do what every you want and says he the owner of the restaurant never expected this kind of service..

Easily the WORST chicken Malayan I’ve ever tasted. It should be sweet but wasn’t at all. The curry was a touch spicy so with the banana and pineapple it tasted disgusting. Total waste of £10.40. The guy was nice enough about it on the phone but I won’t ever be going back there again. ***AVOID***

Most weekdays my family go there for chicken tandoori no where compared to their authentic tandoori. I recommend roti with lamb curry always delicious and homely food sure to fill you up!

Lovely food and pleasant service. Try the mixed kebab starter and Chicken Balti!

Used this takeaway for close to 15 years. I have tried all other Indian takeaway restaurants in the area and none of them even come close to this. Unreal food every time.

The staff are friendly when ordering and the food is always amazing. Their chicken biryani is one of my favourites, full of flavour. Highly recommend!
