We have stayed at The Grand on numerous occasions over the years and always thoroughly enjoyed our visits. This is a very well run hotel offering excellent rooms, a first class restaurant, great leisure facilities and outstanding staff. We can't recommend it enough.

The Granr certainly lives up to its name. Everything about it is top level. Cafe Gradn serves a varied menu and is always great. Breakfasts are terriffic. The team at the Grand are friendly and courteous and nothing is too much trouble. The surroundings are sumptious with the best vista around. Cant wait to go again.

I wanted to write a fair, balanced and honest review. On arrival we were greeted beautifully and looking forward to our little half term break. At dinner and breakfast the waiter barked at us. We reported this and the following day he couldn't have been nicer! Same waiter was also rude to my elderly mum on a previous visit. I was told it is not personal and I have no doubt it is not personal but again a smile and manners cost nothing. Big thank you to Navi a female waitress who was courteous and kind and made a fuss of the little one which she loved! Poles apart. The rooms were OK we were in the annex but the heater in one room would not come on and both made whirring noises throughout the night.i understand old building refurbishment etc but did not reflect the price paid. Wine is expensive 36 pound per bottle but we understood this. We sat by the kitchen and the only time we saw fresh food being made was breakfast which was amazing! We saw much of the dimner pre packed pre steamed very factory like. The chefs at breakfast also very friendly and made breakfast special for the little one. The burger wasn't my cup of tea drowned in sauce but that's a taste issue. However chef did a plain one especially for the little one which she enjoyed. The pool and spa area were gorgeous and staff super welcoming. On the second night there was a strong sense of cigarettes and weed which was seeping into my room. The noise of people's TV could be heard throughout the night. The front of annex great space especially if travelling with a child we were able to have nice family time and not disturb anyone. We asked at the reception if we could drop our key card off in the drop box to which we were given a lovely farewell and thought nothing about it. When we returned home we had a phone call from Barbara who informed us we had not paid for our dinner. And not checked out! We had booked a dinner bed breakfast package. Then a returned phonecall to apologise. Other than the spa area and decor not all that!

Fantastic stay! Welcoming staff. The Receptionist even came up to our room and brought us 2 glasses of bucks fizz for my Husband’s birthday. Great facilities and had a relaxing time. We chose the Winter Weekend deal, and the meals were Michelin Star standard! Highly recommend this Hotel. This is our second stay here and can’t wait to go back!

Credit where credit is due - the staff were great and although the restaurant was expensive, it was still good value as the food and wine was brilliant. Unfortunately the same can't be said for the rooms. We paid around £230 for a 'superior room'. The room was dated and looked like it hadn't been renovated for 25 years. It was very basic and had a power shower. You can stay somewhere nicer for half the price. To make matters worse, there was a loud humming noise that would come on intermittently. We told reception on the first night but only got moved on the second night having been woken up again by it. I know the room next to us had the same issue. So although the staff and food were great, we left feeling like we'd been ripped off. Not good value for money if staying the night

We had a really unfortunate experience here and especially for the price we paid _ £300 a night _ I can only advise not going here at all. The staff have contempt for their guests. We suspected this might be a management problem and this was confirmed after we received a reply to a complaint from the owners which was a bit aloof and ultimately unapologetic. It's a hotel inbetween Blackpool and Southport, it thinks it is the Ritz, but you leave feeling it is a bit of a dump. Nice views, nice rooms. Tell your friends, and go somewhere else.

We have had the Christmas festive lunch today at the Grand, it was absolutely amazing Such a beautiful hotel, lovely atmosphere, very attentive staff. The food was amazing great value for money all freshly cooked and beautiful presentation. It was truly a very positive experience. The staff were so professional, warm and welcoming.

My Parents stayed for 3 nights last week and I joined them for 1,The check in was perfect, the receptionist did everything she could to make it comfortable,The dining experience was awful, all the hotel info is via a QR code which at 87 was impossible for my parents to access, so when ordering a drink they didn't know what was available and the waitress wasn't at all helpful, she wasn't even sure if they sold wine by the glass .When checking out they had been charged a bar bill for drinks in the afternoon when they weren't in the hotel, the staff refused to take them off the bill demanding that they had had them.Our problem was that the waitress was really rude, arguing and refusing to admit that there had been a mistake, shouting and blaming them.Surely in hospitality the customer is always right but not in this restaurant and £17 for a glass of wine is extortionate.It was very disappointing of my mum and dad who have been staying here every year since 2017 and now don't think they want to stay again.

We paid extra for a sea view and were put in the annexed 'serviced rooms' on the third floor attic which is seperate from the main hotel. Didn't' like the beamed ceilings running at 45° which means we were constantly either banging our heads or having to duck. For this reason the price should not be increased for a sea view. Also, there is no vegetarian breakfast option on the menu. Considering that there are 3.2 million people in the UK that identify as vegetarian (and the number is increasing exponentially) it seams like a bad business decision. Unfortunately It's a cashless hotel. Many establishments have gone cashless because they don't trust the staff. I have to say the staff were lovely and very attentive, but for the reasons stated above we will not be returning.

I love this place, nice setting, great staff, top food. Seriously disappointed they have jumped on the "cashless" bandwagon. Really struggling with this one, since cash is our currency and legal tender and the grave implications of a cashless society. Be for the people and the people will return... That killed it for me. I'll be going to cash venues from now on .

Second stay in the last six months. Faultless on both occasions. First stay was in the penthouse and the most recent stay was in the turret room. Both rooms very light and spacious, beautiful views and plenty of storage space, coffee machine and kettle, fridge, everything you could need really. I’ve found both rooms to be quiet at night and don’t really get disturbed by room doors closing etc, or neighbouring rooms, like you do in other places. The whole hotel is spotless and beautiful, the poolside is lovely and warm and the pool water clean and clear. A great size pool. The gym looked well equipped and very clean. Dining and lounge areas are spacious and comfy, staff are friendly and professional and nothing is too much trouble. Great parking and close to the beach, making for nice walks everywhere. I can’t fault this place at all, it’s worth the money and will be returning time after time.

We visited for my big birthday in January, a present off our daughter and family. What a lovely hotel. Thank you for the upgrade. A lovely king-size bed in a lovely big room. The bathroom was something else. . . . . so big! With a separate shower with two showers in it!! I have stayed in smaller bedrooms. The staff were lovely and very helpful. The radiator in our room was only just warm with the bottom part cold, this was on the coldest night of the winter, -9. A lovely man came up to take a look, tried a few options. Said he thought he had sorted it out but went and brought us a lovely Dyson heater to use in case the radiator didn't get hot. The Dyson brought the room up to temperature in no time at all. The radiator did get hot and stayed on all night. Nice and toasty. The Spa was lovely, pool, sauna, jacuzzi, very relaxing. Well worth a stay.

Thank you so so much to the team! I booked to stay here in November, I stayed but had to leave through the evening for a family emergency! The team were so caring and helpful. I emailed to return and they upgraded my room kindly for the same price as I paid before! We stayed last night and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, staff were amazing, caring and kind. Room was absolutely amazing! 😍😍😍 Breakfast was stunning and well presented! We used the spa facilities which were amazing as my toddler absolutely loved the swimming pool!! We also had a massage from bee and bramble and Samantha was amazing and such a lovely lady! Would highly recommend a visit to her also! ❤️

I have been frequenting the Ali Raj ever since it opened and always been happy with the food when ordering a chicken dish. On this occasion I went for Lahori Jhal Machli, which is grilled fish with prawns. The sauce and prawns were fine but the fish, supposedly cod, consisted of bits of skin and no white fish. Very disappointed.
