Called in for a late breakfast, but unfortunately we were too late and had the lunch menu. Food was very good as were our coffees, but we had food envy looking at the people next to us who had got there in time. Their breakfasts looked lovely! One thing I would say is that the River Walk isn't what we imagined - it's just a circle that takes about 10 minutes. I'm only mentioning it for anyone who intends doing a proper dog walk before or after they eat.

I'm a big fan of the Grain Kitchen. However, we went there for a Sunday roast and was disappointed to receive only two pieces of meat. Three slices is acceptable, but for the price you pay, I think two slices is mean. However, the food was delicious but just wanted a bit more to it for the price. Also, one of the waitresses wasn't overly friendly - she served my lunch and left the plate half hanging off the table. No condiments were offered. It's so expensive to eat out now that I think, more than ever, it has to be exemplary.

The grain is your go to place for food and drinks be it with family and friends or business meetings it’s an all rounder! If you do go I highly recommend the chicken pancakes!

A lovely ambiance, nice coffee and cake, although in my opinion a touch on the expensive end given the cup size erred on the small size. But I’m afraid one thing that really gets my back up is a service charge being automatically added to the bill. What decent person is going to ask the waitress to remove it? I think tipping really should be a customers choice based on the experience they’ve had. I accept large groups of diners require more attention and one is usually advised that’s the case before booking/ordering. I’ve never been charged a service charge for 2 coffees and a piece of cake. Left feeling slightly robbed of a choice, so unlikely to return.

I dragged (drugged?) my breakfast club along the A11 to have our December catch up - some of us had been before and knew how well the food was prepared and served so I was a little intrigued how they might cope with a dozen of us here - some knew of the whiskey here too and although a tad early in the morning for samples this still was an incentive to visit here - btw I am always amazed at the range of gifts in the whiskey distillery shop as I know several hard to buy for people would be happy with som ideas you get here - something for every budget too. Yes. Anyway - back to the breakfast- we had ordered a wide range of food and it was firstly all served together and it was delicious and very nicely presented - I suspect there is an army corps backstage somewhere preparing the food - never missed a beat and the food was delicious. Well done The Grain, we shall return.

The Grain Kitchen has the best value and quality of Sunday lunch (actually any meal) in our area. Our favourites are the tacos and arrancini for starters and the cauliflower cheese and creamed cabbage vegetables . The care and attention paid to all guests is top notch. Lucy and the team made our daughter’s 30th birthday very special, thank you.

Probably the best breakfast we’ve had for a long time. The Hash Brown side order is a must try - they taste amazing. Service and atmosphere were excellent, we will be back very soon!

Just the best breakfast, clearly cooked by a chef and care taken to detail. Wonderful local ingredients ( Tony Perkins Butchers). Served on piping hot plates and great service, not the cheapest but certainly the best, nice to see you get what you pay for! 5*

We went here for lunch two days in a row, firstly as a couple and the food was so good that we went back the next day with our daughter and son-in-law, we were not disappointed, the food was fantastic. I need gluten free food and my daughter needs dairy free food, we both had plenty of choice. Air conditioned on a hot day - lovely. We will be back next time we are in the area.

So we often come to East Harling for a ‘getaway’ close to home in Norwich. This time we decided to take a walk to Grain for a snack and a drink for my wife’s birthday. We ordered the beef taco’s to share and wow! - SO MUCH flavour on one plate! The Sauvignon Blanc NZ we ordered also has a really crisp flavour - none of the sharpness sometimes associated with supermarket wines. Setting is lovely, it’s quiet and the service from Taylor and Harrison was brilliant too! Food is cooked to order but the wait was really short & sensible. We’ve already recommended this place to our family in Kenninghall & Attleborough as they are close by and we will 100*% be back!!! What a find!!

Has the potential but I wouldn't go again. I feel like options for gluten free/dairy free are quite limited outside of the full English breakfast option. I'd also like to see the avocado toast as a vegan option as I asked for no egg but still got charged the same and I love a good avocado toast. I found it a bit uncomfortable that the owner/manager (?) was correcting the waitresses behaviour but it was kind of in earshot of customers- perhaps a quick slip into the kitchen would have been better? I appreciate that you want service to be top notch but I've also worked in the service industry and I'd never be told in front of customers. I think the brunch options look better/better value for money but again, more gluten free options would be lovely.

Having enjoyed wonderful lunches at this couple's previous pub in Haughley, Suffolk, I was keen to take my partner to try their new establishment - and it didn't disappoint! I had a double G & T [9.95] and my partner chose two 175ml Malbec [13.00]. We shared the most delicious crispy squid with a superb dip - more than enough for 2 to share [9.95]. However, it would have been easier to eat with our fingers if the pieces had been cut in two, as it was quite a messy starter without the use of plates to put it on. I cut mine up with my main course knife, which made life a lot easier. I chose the Pasta Funghi [15.95] - again faultless in every way and quite a generous portion too. My partner was raving about his Ham Hock [15.25]. Finished with a Chocolate & Dark Cherry dessert [7.95] - heavenly! 2 Cappuccinos, one decaff, and these were full of flavour and delicious, as often in other establishments, the coffee tastes like hot water! [6.40]. Total bill, including 10% service [86.29]. Would strongly recommend you give The Grain Kitchen a visit as you won't be disappointed in any way. Pity we don't live locally as it would certainly be our 'go to' lunch venue. One slight comment would be to ensure the waiting staff are given training on what's in each item on the menu. Having asked a couple of questions, our server said she would check to find out and returned promptly with the answers!

First visit for all of us, wanted to try it out following recommendations and the menu meets all palates . Booked ahead and arrived early, not a problem. Nice atmosphere, warm, quiet & tables spaced apart. Ordered drinks and table water which came without much delay. We all chose different items from the menu, all delicious and arrived quickly. (Although the sandwiches didn’t appear to be as value for money as other dishes) Good service, gratuity already added. Would any of us return? Everyone said yes, we all enjoyed the visit.

Visited the distillery and because I had missed my lunch, decided to have lunch at the Grain Kitchen. Service was quick and friendly. I had the ham hock hash which was really tasty. Price was a bit on the dear side but wasn’t too bad as it seemed good quality ingredients had been used. Would visit again if in the area.

This place is ideal for a large family get together. The owner and staff were extremely helpful in allowing us (24 adults) to have the adjoining area to the main restaurant. Atmosphere was good and table arrangement perfect. Sunday lunch will be remembered for good food, polite efficient service and a lovely venue.

The Grain Kitchen never disappoints. It doesn't matter what you choose from the menu, it's always excellent. The brisket with truffle mac and cheese is incredibly rich and delicious. And such a huge portion! The ham hock hash is amazing. We've also enjoyed the croque monsieur and the hot-smoked salmon sandwich. And the chips are superb. The home made cakes and sausage rolls are too good to resist as a take away after the meal. It's a very comfortable, clean, and informal atmosphere. Always busy, but not too busy. I'd highly recommend this place to family, friends and colleagues.

Been to the Grain Kitchen for breakfast and, most recently, Sunday lunch. Both meals were great - the Mushroom Wellington for Sunday lunch was lovely - perfectly seasoned with a nice amount of vegetables and roast potatoes. Staff are friendly and the service exceptional. One small thing, please leave salt and pepper on the table :) We live in East Harling village and it's really nice to have this restaurant open again. I hope it's successful.

Tucked away location but brightly welcomed by staff, Julia and team were immediately attentive. Ample spacious outdoor seating, and inside equally spaced. Menu of both breakfast and luncheon were good variety with Gluten Free plenty of options and vegan alike. Overall pleasant morning experience of food and service. Thank you all involved.

This is, by far, the best carvery I've had for a reasonable price of £14.50. Even though the restaurant was fully booked, I managed to find a spacious table in the bar area for my two sisters and me. There's always ample parking available, and the staff are friendly and polite, making the entire experience truly enjoyable.
