Best Chinese takeaway in Banbury by far!! (My number 1 and I have tried a few since moving to the area) Food is always fresh flavourful and piping hot not to forget to mention prices are insane don’t waste your money getting bad food for ridiculously high prices from somewhere else go straight to good chef!! I also have to mention( I think ) a family who own the shop are always so polite and accommodating to your likes also very knowledgable on allergies and always mention if there is a up charge and ask if it’s ok.👌 🤌

The best Chinese in town, low prices, super service, fast order processing. We order from them very often. It's just a shame they pulled out the "old" Sechuan Sauce. Egg Fried Rice we ordered in many places, but there is no comparison in taste. we recommend!

The Good Chef is my local. I usually go for the mild Chicken Curry and Rice, but today I treated myself to Sweet and Sour Chicken/Hong Kong style, with a portion of Chow Mein (noodles). The photo I took before tucking in does it justice! Succulent pieces of Chicken in a vibrant sauce with onions, peppers and pineapple slices. Absolutely delicious! The Chow Mein was a welcome change. Plenty enough for two meals. The atmosphere is busy but friendly. Highly recommended.

Best Chinese I’ve had in Banbury since moving here. I’ve tried quite a few of them and this was the best, such good value too.

Second time trying this but didn’t get past the person on the phone as too rude - sorry good chef missed out on a customer tonight! On the whole very good , friendly on the phone, quick delivery and hot . Only issue was prawn crackers and squid was chewy in places sadly, but was tasty.

Food is absolutely amazing. We've tried many Chinese restaurants in town and this one is the best for us. Fresh food, not too salty or oily. Friendly staffs. We've ordered 3 times from them soo far and never had a disappointing meal. Only one criticism they dont take card payment.

I only popped in for a snack because chip shop next door was shut. The salt and pepper chips with chili are incredible! And the nicest Thai crackers I've ever tasted.

This Chinese is lovely, great value, quick and staff so friendly, wouldn't go any where else in Banbury

As a hgv driver, staying away from home , i found the good chef via google ,they delivered to me within 15 minutes,, the food was superb i highly recomend and will use again the next time i am in the area, thankyou.

100% the BEST house special chow mein I've ever had.

Had shredded beef in chilli was really crispy compared to some i have had from some places its chewy but yours was perfect and love the fried onions and special chow mein even my partner loved his he had roast chicken in bbq sauce with boiled rice and was impressed but how nice it was normally he has the same thing but was glad he tried something different will definitely be ordering from you again

Fantastic Chinese, very reasonable price and super speedy. Had this a couple of times now and honestly think it's one of the best in the area. Not greasy and full of flavour. Plenty of meat too!

First timer! Greated by friendly and welcoming staff. Ordered meal G salt & pepper chips with cripsy chicken and rice. It was a generous portion and tasted great. Amazing price for great value food. I will definitely be returning! =^^=

The Good Chef is in fact The Great Chef. The shop is clean and you can see the food being prepared in a clean kitchen, the takeaway order was filled quickly and most importantly the food was delicious. Super affordable. The staff went out of their way to make sure I was happy with my order. I'll certainly be back.

Rang up for a chinese and was told delivery would be within the hour. Once again I had to phone up after 1.5 hours and was told driver was on the way. When the food did arrive it was cold and not enjoyable. This is the 4th time my food has been cold from here. Definitely time for a new chinese. Good chef used to be the best in Banbury but it is now one of the worst.

Just waited over 90 minutes for our food to be delivered, I'm gutted it was delivered!!! the cripsy duck was greasy cold and tasted like rubber, beef was like rubber and even had chicken in the tub!!!!. Rang to inform them and ask for a refund was told no way do they refund....... Keep your money people and AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!!!!!.
