I dropped into The Good Bean today for a coffee and a slice of cake whilst passing some time in Corby. It is a modern, fresh and clean coffee shop / cafe with tables and chairs and easy sofa's. There was a nice selection of homemade cakes (I had the Victoria Sandwich and it was excellent) and the mug of coffee was great too. Prices were very reasonable with my very generous slice of cake and latte costing just £4.80 to eat in... Take Away is even cheaper. The service was great and the ambiance relaxed. If I had one small piece of constructive feedback it would be to get customer WiFi. I had some work to do while I waited and enjoyed my cake and it would have been great if I could have got online.

There really is nothing not to like about The Good Bean. Let’s start with the coffee...appreciating that it’s a subjective topic but so are reviews in general, but their coffee and ability to use their coffee machine properly means you get quality, tasty, consistent coffee every time. Since they re-opened post lockdown, they’ve got a simple but effective one-way system that allows you to queue past the variety of sandwiches, toasties, salads and cold drinks. Everything is made fresh each day and to order if they’ve run-out and it’s a pleasure to eat a non pre-packed sandwich let me tell you! Two more things to share...their cakes are a problem, but only in the sense that they’re all homemade and ridiculously moorish. The last point is that they really could charge more as their price points are extremely competitive, always leaving me walking away feeling like I’ve just visited somewhere that serves tasty coffee and food with pleasant service and all at great value. Great job all round!

This mobile cafe sits within the car park of The Cardigan Arms Pub in Corby. What a find it was …. The food is excellent with a good menu with ‘daily specials’ which change daily. A takeaway service is also available. In the Summer there is a ‘beer garden’ from the pub to sit in and in the colder months you can eat in the pub itself. The two girls who own it are lovely and will adapt the menu to your needs if they can. I think this is a newish venture … they deserve to be successful!

Used to be a fab little fish and chip shop. Been times over the years with various change in owners. Not sure what has happened in last few months but quality seems have gone down especially the chips. Perhaps new potato supplier needed or change of cooking fat?

The carvery was ok bu you don't get to choose your veg,the price was £5 more than the raven pub and there you can choose your veg, I unfortunately cannot eat a plate full of veg that time of day, because that's all it is .
