Absolutely appalling experience,didn't receive food we had ordered and then was told I lied about food not turning up,who ever I spoke to on the phone shouldn't be in customer services and could actually hear the guys arguing in the background 😡😡

Ordered £35 worth of food. Received half of it. Lesson learned DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE AND NEVER PAY/TIP THE DRIVER BEFORE MAKING SURE THEY ACTUALLY DELIVERED THE FOOD YOU ACTUALLY ORDERED! £15 worth of food not delivered but paid for. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS ROBBING SCUM "restaurant". DISGUSTING!

First time ordering, and I wasn't disappointed. The food was spot on and the delivery really fast. I can and will recommend to all, nice one Golden Star.

Not only do they have lovely tasting food they have 2 of the politest and kindest delivery drivers I have ever witnessed, anywhere, ever. A real credit to your company. 🙏

Chips over done a little bit apart from that best Chinese I’ve had while living round here thank you and when I phoned to see where my food was the person at the other end was lovely will definitely order again :)

Can’t fault this takeaway, I ordered here after my long time favourite changed hands and I can say that Golden Star is as good as my old, before the change, if not better. The Singapore Chow Mein is top notch. Keep up the good work. Price and portion sizes also great👍

Can here on a off chance, I picked up lady was ruid whilst taking my order. When I got home which is around 3 minutes drive it was cold.. they food had no flavour and was so bland. Spent £30 for it to go in bin.

Food is good and ready quickly. Superb box meal is one of the best option for price and amount of food you get. I guess it's main reason why I choose this takeaway than others. You get chips, rise, chicken balls in sauce, few onion rings, chicken wings, ribs and much more.

So disappointed.. the chips were rock hard n must of been reheated ..I had sliced chicken breast and oh my god it was hard and as if its been cooked and cooked over again I got jaw ache .. was inedible.. disgrace...

Disgusting food It was a Munch Box. All items were thrown into a pizza style box. What an absolute mess. It arrived Luke warm at best, eventually Our food had clearly been standing around for a long time before being sent out for delivery Got cut off when I called the shop to reject the order Rang again, asked for a call back - didn’t happen Left feedback on their chosen medium - no response Went in to the shop the following week (earliest convenience), received no apology, gave excuses for temperature and presentation style. Offered 30% off next order. It wasn’t cheap but would never order from them again. There were young girls laughing behind the counter and young children in the shop with no adults Avoid this terrible takeaway

Very disappointed by our recent experiences of Golden Star, incident #1 we placed an ordered via the Donny Eats app at 16.31 at 17.45 the order was still pending, we tried to contact Golden Star (no answer) so we emailed the app as payment had already left my bank account, 3 hours later our order was cancelled. Incident #2 as we had successfully ordered via the app several times before we decided to give them another try, whilst our food arrived on time and hot, the quality of the food was very disappointing. The chips, chicken balls & spare ribs were over cooked, the Thai Red Beef Curry was bland and the Chicken Satay Sauce was also bland, very mild, with a taste & texture very different to any other Chinese takeaway or restaurant satay sauce I've ever tasted it was more of a peanut paste than a satay sauce. I'm not sure if they have a new chef but we won't be ordering again in a hurry.

love it here delivery came very quickly and food was lovely. the staff were very understanding and helped to work out what was best for our meal 10/10, will definitely be ordering from here again!!

Meals from here are usually really good, the mixed chow mien last night wasnt as good as usual. The noodles where sticky and over cooked without there also being short of the sauce. Sorry but a bit of a let down.

New website! Absolute nightmare so I couldn't order. Very very disappointed... There was nothing wrong with the old website so why change it??

Tasty food, lovely satay sauce in particular. Delivery unfortunately took 2 hours and 15 minutes on a Monday evening and one of the dishes was incorrect

Never had any issues, very good Chinese.

Had several meals, ordered delivery tonight, arrived fast and hot, the aroma was lovely, the taste was lovely, it looked lovely and cooked nicely, crunch of bamboo shoots, meat disolved in my mouth, value for money excellent, what a difference to the takeaway i had last time from Wonderful Two which i will never use again. 😀

Ordered from here to which half the order was not delivered used to be such a lovely Chinese a few years ago after phoniningbup after order was nothing like I ordered was amazed at the abusive response I received will definitely never be returning my custom I would of given a zero on remarks if it was possible

Food was cold took over an hr and half new owners dont have a clue ordered chips that didnt come called to complain and was told I should have ordered in chineese and the man who took the order was very impolite never going again

I ordered just some spare ribs in thai chili sauce. I got a tray of bones in sauce. I throw most of them away as there was absolutely no meat on them & I got about 3 mouthfuls of meat from the rest. At least my dog enjoyed the bones. Total waste of money

Can't believe we've ordered from these for several years and the last 3 orders have been absolutely awful. Not sure if changed hands but not good. Will never use again. Sorry lovely delivery driver but we'll not be ordering anymore. Such a disappointment. Overcooked/microwaved food, just awful. Such a shame !

These guys have really got it spot on...to be honest .. after Eric left.( the lovely old guy)... we didn't find it tasty... but last few orders have been AMAZING!!! Also .. the tall guy that works there... sometimes delivers ( sorry tall Mr)... is just the most polite fella ever!.. well done guys xxxx

1st time ordering and must say from phone call the lady was polite and helpful, and from receiving food the delivery driver was polite and food was amazing so needless to say my new place from now

dont go here. The prices are not worth it. My bill came to £70. I only ate a bit. I've seen better. Ashamed. Food is nice but not worth the price.

My friend had ordered a delivery and when it came after paying the driver and unpacking his meal he realised some of the order was missing. After waiting for a considerable amount of time after returning a call to them about their mistake, they delivered the rest and still charged him for what he already paid. By this time the rest of the order was cold but they wouldn't refund. I even rang them and explained that no one would accept a meal given in 2 separate time slots and they had 1/2 hour to reinburse with full refund back to my friend or I was gonna pay them a visit and inform everyone walking in the place to bypass and go to Ylang City instead ( a few doors down). Still no refund given. So all I can say is avoid this place and go to Ylang City where we haven't had any complaints about their service, or check the order before you walk out the shop or the deliver driver leaves.

Since the new chef took over the new food is acc down the drain used to be my favourite take away, such a shame👎🏽

Yang city is were it's at this has a 1☆ food higene rating and has only gone down hill since Eric sold it

I normally order all the time from golden star but today it was HORRIBLE!! Both specials were as dry as a bone 🤢

I went to Golden Star today and I ordered some dishes takeaway. I've order Kungpo chicken, sweet and sour king prawn in cantonese. After I recived a meals, I check if order was correct but it was mistake I got "sweet and sour king prawn ball" and "Sweet and sour chicken cantonese" There were 2 reception staffs, a man and woman. I ask the reception staff to change it. The man who is English seems to be unfriendly said to me unpolite way that we got your order correct and blame me that it was my mistake. So is that really my fault? He's not seem to do anything or sort out, until the 2 Chinese chefs came up to the reception and changed the order for me. The chefs were very happy, helpful. Thanks to chef for sorted out. The reception girl was nice also but............ Im not impress with this awful English guy staffs. He's always look frown,unfriendly, not listen, bad attitude, bad behaviour toward to customer. No apologise from him.

So I stopped over on my way to Sheffield on Tuesday for a quick takeaway, food was nice and staff was helpful (vegetarian and some gluten issues). Would go again if passing by. Five stars.

So I'm at the tickhill road hospital every couple weeks and after my appoitments we usually pick up some food, and it's usually from golden star. The foods good and you get good portion sizes and we enjoy chatting to the staff, It's a nice environment . I''m not sure why someone gave it a 1* for few vegetable based options because my daughters a vegetarian and we just pick things off the menu and ask for vegetables to substitute the meat and they do it and lower the price for us... can't please evveryone I guess.. Anyway, I'm happy and I'm still a regular there 5*

Been ordering fortnightly for a couple years now and food is lovely. A little apprehensive when it got new owners but food is the same + a few more things on the menu. Staff are nice to talk to and they always tell me deliveries are up to 45 minutes but usually get them in 10, lol.

Food always tasty, and generous with the portions. Pretty good value.

My favourite Chinese takeaway, usual standard chinese dishes, friendly staff, quick delivery and all at a great price. Highly recommended.

WELL my family and i used to love eating from your establishment but have since vacated due to your lack of vegetarian dishes. I recently went to china on a business trip, lovey country, lovely people, lovely VEGETABLES! Please reconsider so we vegetarians can too enjoy Chinese food. Thank you.

We moved near this takeaway last year. and although it doesn't look much from outside I gave it a go. We all agreed it was much tastier than our previous Chinese, and since then, we have enjoyed a range of meals from the menu and they have all been, without exception, excellent. Tasty meals, generous portions, fresh-tasting ingredients,fast and polite service, good value, clean shop with a five star rating. The owners are lovely, too. all in all we feel like we've uncovered a gem.

2hr wait 38.00 order when finally arrived just warm rang to speak to them not interested they can stick it as far up there arxx as they can deleted crap service don't bother yourself some do not use

Food lovely except onion rings have sometimes a little over cooked (but not burnt) when we first started ordering this time last year (August 2015) apart from that no problems

I ordered chilli garlic chicken from here as my usual place, Taste of China, was closed. I have never seen such a disgusting looking Chinese dish... It was overly white rubbery chicken in what can only be described as a sauce which had the colour and consistency of snot. Barely any taste and this gelatinous, snot like sauce.. Never again.

never going to be ordering again yes food nice but when i asked to exchange the free prawn crackers and have gravy instead manager snapped said no she getting free delivery what more does she want..................................
