The Golden Inn in Wigan

Now closed till further notice. But was....Excellent food prepared well. The chicken Szechuan is perfect. Happy to work around allergies or special requests.

No! And NOOO! When I opened the tray I could only say: "What the...??!!" Looked gross. Absolutely awful! I've traveled the country up and down and I love asian food. I have never tasted or seen any chinese dish worse than this. I'm not biased or have anything against this place but oh, this was an awful experience. If this would've been my first try at Chinese food, I would never try it again. I couldn't even finish it, the only reason I forced myself to eat something it's because I was starving. And I have been friendly enough to communicate this to the nice lady. This is an embarrassment of a House Special Chow Mein like nothing I've encountered before. I'm afraid I will remember this fo way too long. 😞 And £7.80 is not too much if the food is good. If you want to save yourself from a potential nightmare, walk past it. I'm going to throw this in the bin and go look for something else to get rid of the taste.😕 I should've taken a picture but it's not even worth the space in my phone. 🤢

Excellent take away. Fast, friendly service. This is in my opinion the best Chinese takeaway in Tyldesley. They take phone orders but do not offer home delivery but then they don't need to.

Special foo young had a few scabby pieces of chai sui in didn't see anything else in it. Shredded beef in spicy sauce was a big gloopy mess, should of realised why it was empty at 6pm on a Saturday night.

Moved to Astley in 1998 tried the rest but only use the best and will go without if they are closed. Great food and a friendly family run business.

I have been going to The Golden Inn for about 30 years, I grew up down the road. I now live about 25 mins drive away and it is still our preferred Chinese. The quality of the food is second to none and always has been. The portion sizes are generous and the price is also very good. The staff are always friendly and great you with a warm welcome without fail. Our favourites include the crispy duck, BBQ spare ribs in syrup, chicken fried rice and chicken in OK sauce.

Nice people, good food and good price. Great value for money.

Like every saturday night just ordered from the Golden Inn tyldesley and as always the guy on the phone says "for rob yes? 10mins" Rob comes back all emotional with two bags, one with our food and one with a can of carling and a snickers bar. The family are going to china for christmas and the elderly lady wished him a merry christmas and a happy new year from the family, gave him the two bags and came round the front and hugged him. If this isnt a reason to recommened a chinese i dont know what is
