Great pizza's - very good size and value for money and deliciously made in traditional clay oven. I would say that the quality is still high on delivery but they need to work efficiently taking phone orders as it is often a real struggle to communicate over the phone. Otherwise great pizza and nice pasta too.

This place has the perfect vegan pizza , even though it doesn't say it's vegan after a chat with one of the chefs I found out there's no diary in the ingredients. I'm a regular customer since I tried it for the first time a couple of months ago. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff !

The best friggin pizzeria in south London by a country mile. Having lived in Rome for 7 years and Toscana for 6 I can speak from experience. My first Italian girlfriend came from Salerno and I first tasted pizza by the meter in 1982 in Naples. It's about the ingredients and cooking it in a wood fire. All the other so called corporate pizzeria chains can go and take a long hard hike. They have nothing on this establishment. If you want REAL ITALIAN pizza, thin crust, real mozzarella, fantastic capers etc. Come here. Amazing!!!

The restaurant has a very good appearance and smell that makes you want to eat. I believe that the community in Crystal Palace is fortunate to have such authentic variant popular of pizza in the area. When it comes to preparation, the dough and ingredients can be combined with any kind of table as it is freshly made and baked directly on fired brick oven. They have also variety recipes and topping. The staff is friendly, warm always welcoming their customers who love to relax. My children love their pizza. Grazie mille. Jackie from Crystal Palace.

We were in Crystal Place on Sunday lunchtime and found 'The Godfather' on our walk around. Pleasant friendly staff, reasonable prices, and good pizza - and very reasonable wine prices - what's not to like? There is no shortage of restaurants in the area, some good some not so good, this one is well worth trying.

I am Italian and I love Neapolitan pizza therefore I am very picky when it comes to good pizza. I have a few fav places in London but this is by far the best I have found! The dough is great, the toppings are excellent and obviously they use a proper wood-fired oven. We also tried some starters, desserts, limoncello and espresso and the quality was similarly excellent. The staff are absolutely lovely and it is by far cheaper than most pizzerias around London. Goes without saying: do not expect pizzahut/americanpepperonipizza kind of stuff.

This place has a wood burning over at the front of the restaurant.Offers great value for money and service was good. The pizza base was nice and thin and the crusts were lovely and soft, akin to a sour dough base. The base was perhaps a little soggy, due to the thin base and sauce, but this is easily forgiven as it tasted great!Highly recommended, will be visiting again !

Really tasty Napoletan pizza with a lovely soft dough, made in the front of the restaurant and cooked in the traditional oven. The price is great, the staff very friendly. This is an easy place to sit and have a nice pizza, no fuss. The wine selection is also surprisingly nice for the price. This place is a YAY.

These are the best pizzas I've had in London. Hands down. Got a bit tired of Franco's and love the balance of chewy cheesy and crunchy base. Service is generally good. Staff seem to be all Italian which means it's ite. Good starters (especially the mozarella with thick toast slices) and all the pizzas I've had are good. A friend had a pasta and that was pretty good too. The Godfather special is definitely worth trying. I've been many times and it's always excellent.

There are plenty of options when it comes to pizza in Crystal Palace but this place is by far the best. Traditional pizzas baked in a wood fired oven served by friendly and efficient Italian staff. The place is spotless and very authentic. It seems to attract Italian diners which is always a great sign.I recommend the Divola and the Verace pizzas. Both are flawless.

I was lucky enough to be brought here by two friends who dine at Godfather frequently. I understand why. Wood burning oven. Simple and stylish dinning room. Polite and friendly waiting staff (our waitress: an Italian beauty). So, a simple plate of olives to start. We love an olive. My hosts assured me the pizzas were large and we decided to make room. To be honest I can't recall their pizza choices but I went for the calzone; an uncertain and unpredictable option. I have had dozens of these half-moon wonders across Europe and home, and all have been unique. There's no formula, no template. While that's exciting it's also like playing pizza roulette. Sometimes you win; more often you loose. When my pizza arrived I was impressed by two things; the 'flatness' of the calzone and the colour of the dough (dappled 'burnt' blackness and lighter tones). No Cornish pasty shaped calzone this. I'd say it was about 2" thick with cheese and tomato base on the outside! How iconoclastic! Pizza tasted great! The dough was perfectly cooked with generous fillings of cheese, salami and ham. It was a substantial size too and while quality is always better than quantity it's refreshing when you get both on the plate at once. My hosts were very happy with theirs. We shared a bottle of house red which was also lovely. The complementary limoncello was nice but it's never the same drink for me outside of Italy. I understand the bill for three with drinks and tip was under £50 which is good value. I want to go back.

This is one of three pizzerias in Crystal Palace, and it's not bad. Prices are very reasonable (around £7 for a good-sized pizza) and the pizza bases are decent, with a nice, thick crust. My veggie pizza was somewhat overloaded with toppings, leading to a slightly gloopy centre - although I perhaps brought this on myself for asking for tomato sauce to be added to what should have been a 'white' pizza. The decor leaves a lot to be desired: the front section is over-lit, while the rear section has bare expanses of white walls and little else. Service is patchy: friendly enough, but we had to wait for ages to have our plates cleared and ask for the bill. I'd booked a table but got a nonplussed response when I announced this on arrival, although given the lack of diners at the time, perhaps my reservation was simply seen as needless.

I have visited The Godfather a few times, with friends and family. The service is great and they have always been very attentive, accommodating our requests and also being patient with my lively 2-year-old son (no small feat). The pizza is amazing; I have tried the Toto and the Ortolana ones and just thinking about them makes me crave one! They also serve child-sized pizze for little ones, the one that my son got was shaped like Mickey Mouse, which was very sweet of them. i have not tried the panuozzi, but I plan to do it next time I go. A special mention to the cheesy Italian music they play, I don't like it when I am back home in Italy, but it does make me smile here in London.

I was planning to go in another place in the street for a drink rendezvous, but they had decided to shut earlier than advertised. Walking in the cold rain, The Godfather's big round wooden oven looked very welcoming. I popped in to check if their cuisine was Sicilian, turned out they were more Neopolitans. Pizzas are their speciality as one expects, but, on the menu they have Melanzane Parmigiana (originally a Sicilian dish) which alsocooked in this oven. I am SO GLAD that I stepped into this place. We had Bruschetta, Melanzane Parmigiana, olives, beira Moretti and crisp white wine. The food was FANTASTIC! Lovely staff and we got two rounds of complimentary Limoncello! Apparently, they have just recently changed their menu. I am returning soon to sample their pizza too!

I am totally baffled by the (very few) bad reviews on here on this restaurant. If you're after deep-pan American type pizza, then you won't get it here.Since visiting Italy as a child - 30 odd years ago - I have been on the look out for a comparable pizza, and at last I've found it! I must have been to The Godfather over ten times now and every time it has met (or exceeded) my expectations. The dough is incredible and all the topping ingredients excellent quality. I cannot fault it in all honesty, except to say that if you want want to order a pizza that's slightly different to what's on the menu it can get unnecessarily confusing! However, that's a small price to pay for such amazing food.

We have ordered pizzas from early this year and steadily it has been getting worse and worse, wrong pizzas delivered, cold pizza, 2 hours late (and we live a 15 minute walk away i hope some day they invent scooters to deliver pizza!), the dough was thick under cooked, barely any toppings on the pizzas that we had ordered. So in short we won't order from them again.

I recently came here with friends who had been several times before. I have been to Italy quite a few times so know what a decent pizza can taste like and these did not disappoint at all! The speed with which the food came out was incredible, the dough was light and tasted great, the tomato base was in no way tangy and tasted super fresh. Loved the small range of items on the menu - always a good sign!Everything was a really reasonable price, there were 4 of us; we shared a starter between the four of us, each had a pizza and shared a bottle of wine and left £2 tip each and the total was £60. Brilliant value for money. Also - for all those loving a little bit of spice, I was really happy to finally find chilli oil on the table that actually packed a punch! And I loved the additional option of garlic oil. Delicious. Will definitely be back.

Traditional, authentic wood fire Neapolitan pizza with great ingredients - in my opinion, this is the best pizza I've eaten anywhere and I have been to Naples!I have been here several times as I live locally and it is such good value - you can have 2 beers and 2 pizzas and it won't cost much more than around £20 for 2 people. There's casual dining at the front and a more formal seating area at the back which is nice to be able to choose depending on what ambience you want from your evening.I will continue to support this great local restaurant as it tastes fantastic, great value for money and service is always welcoming and friendly.

I went there with my husband last night and we had the worst pizza ever. I ended up eating the crust only (which is very very thick) - because the pizza Napoletana I ordered was very salty, and the ingredients were very poor. My husband had a Diavola and he ended up with all the sausage ends that were hard and thick. Overall, very poor experience and it ruined our Friday out.

Let me start by saying that if you want to have thick dough, fully loaded greasy american style codswallop please do not come to this place. The Godfather is a gorgeously authentic Italian pizzeria. The dough is the right consistency and thickness for a proper italian pizza. The topping fresh, good quality and just enough to work well with the dough. The staff are very friendly. Whether you just pop in to have a quick pizza or attend with friends for a meal out you will be made welcome and feel instantly at ease. Overall, great food and excellent hospitality

I really do recommend a visit to The Godfather, Me and my partner really enjoyed our visit. The pizza's were large and tasty, cooked in front of you too which is always preferable. The prices are very good, particularly the Drinks. Less then a fiver for a large glass of wine and less then 3 quid for a beer, is much better then other italian restaurants. Also they don't skimp on the toppings, another rare thing in modern pizzerias . The Service was great too, very friendly and attentive. May rethink the name, when I've seen this place pop on online searches the name and logo makes me think of a cheap greasy takeaway when this place is the opposite... I will defiantly be revisiting.

Four of us ate here for the first time. The place was very busy which looked promising.Alas, although the pizza bases are nicely done in a wood fired oven, the toppings were very very lacking with just a minimal smear of tomato paste, VERY little cheese and 6 thin slices of pepperoni. When I told the waitress about the problem she did not understand. She smiled and asked if we would like to take the leftover bases home instead. It was £40 for very little indeed.
