You will have a special experience if you stop by this restaurant. The owner and staff provide you with a menu that your pallete deserves, accompanied with a great selection of music. I personally recommend trying the 'Tagliatelle Roberto', it's my favourite dish and I will be back again asking for more!

Was really looking forward to eating here, but came away feeling very, very disappointed. There were 5 of us and I had the Calamari (£8.90) to start and there was loads of it, but the homemade mayonaisse was poor. Quantity over quality?! 2 of them had the Mozarella Parcels which was lovely. I had Lamb Cutlets (£24.90) for my main and was expecting at least 5. I got 3 - which were cooked lovely but definitely not enough! Had to wait nearly 5 minutes for our sides! It came with way too much mash in my opinion and about 20 fine green beans. The Seabass Limone and the Pollo Cordon Bleu were both delicious. Backgroung music and ambience wasn't great and service was a bit erratic as only 2 waiters on a busy Tuesday night. Will not be rushing back here any time soon.

I held a big birthday celebration at The Ginger Italian in June, the service and atmosphere was amazing the staff couldn’t do enough. The singer we had was amazing and all part of the party package we opted for and all a reasonable cost. To manage to get 70 people all eating at the same time is a credit to the kitchen staff n chefs as that no easy feat, we when all wanted starters, mains n desserts at the same time. I had so many comments on how fab the night was and how nice the food n drinks were. So well done to the Joe, Malou. Ed and all the crew that work so hard to make sure we had a good night.

We went here thinking it would be a lovely intimate restaurant, it was far from it! Music was so loud I couldn’t hear my partner speaking. The manageress/owner was serving customers whilst singing along to the music, the tables were so close together that people were bumping into my chair during my meal. The food was mediocre to say the least. Uber drivers were wandering in between tables to pick up their deliveries.

I've visited this restaurant 4 or 5 times since 2019. In lockdown the pizza and prices were great. In general the atmosphere is pleasant and everyone there appears to be enjoying themselves. Its a locals restaurant. I have friends who swear by it for all major celebrations. Unfortunately I've only had bad experiences here. Yet I keep going back to test the water. Main issues are: Service is slow (I've had 1hr waits from ordering to getting good on busy days) Requests made at time of booking and confirmed verbally get missed Food is over priced for quality Not convinced it's all homemade - I get the sense some are bought in like the filled pasta Steak regularly overcooked Regarding requests overlooked, a waitress showed me the printed notes they were given and what was written was summarised to the extreme where it missed the point of the request.

It was my Birthday and I was Turning 33! After a Huge Easter Sunday Gathering the Weekend Prior with Lots of Curry I thought it would be a Good Idea to Celebrate with a Different Cuisine for a Change. Since Grandad loves to Enjoy a Good Italian whilst he is down from Yorkshire I decided I Would Combine the Two and Have a Delicious Italian Birthday Treat, Anyhow I do enjoy my Italian Favourites too. I Arrived at the Restaurant First and as it was Raining I stepped inside to Take my Seat and Instantly took in the Cosy Surroundings with some Pre Photography before the Calvary arrived! Soon After Grandad, Mum and Dad arrived. Unfortunately Sarah was "Nursing" Granny at her Flat after her Cataract Appointment so they were unable to join us. Grandad and Dad then Proceeded to Look at the Menu even though they have been to eat here many times prior (They Cater for Mum's Gluten free), but it was my First Time here even though I'm local. The Atmosphere was Cosy, with Dimmable Warm Lighting that was Reduced throughout the Evening to Create a Cosy Intimate Feel. The Playlist was A Mix of 70s and 80s Disco and Pop with some 90s Whitney Surrounded by the Bee Gees and The Tramps Disco Intherno which appealed greatly to my Eclectic Taste in Music 🙂. We were Practically the Only Diners in the Restaurant apart from Two Blokes who sat outside in the Cold so they could Smoke. For My Starter I Settled on Breaded Goats Cheese - Thick slice of goat's cheese, deep fried in Panko breadcrumbs. Drizzled with honey & served with a sweet tomato relish Once I Enjoyed my Starter Grandad partaked in Conversation on "Today's News" and then it was time to Settle on to our Mains. Me and Grandad Had: Vitello Saltimbocca alla Romana - Veal topside with Parma ham cooked in a pan with demi-glace butter and sage. Served with green beans & mashed potatoes Mum had Using Gluten free Breadcrumbs she had bought with her: Vitello Milanese - Veal topside, pan -fried in flour, egg & panko breadcrumbs. Served with Spaghetti in our homemade tomato & Bolognese sauce. Dad had: 9oz Ribeye Steak & Chips - 28 days matured, cooked how you like and topped with garlic butter. Served with French fries and 1/2 grilled tomato To Drink I had 7 Up Zero, Dad a Diet Coke, Grandad a House Wine and Mum a Rosé, all washed down with Water. Once We had had Finished our Delicious Main Course some of us Ordered Dessert with Dad having a Lemon Sorbet. Along with the Desserts Came the Climax! 🤣🤣....... My Birthday 🎂 Cake Accompanied by 3 Fiery Sparklers, Modern Happy Birthday Tune on the Sound System, along with Very Enthusiastic Singing from the Head Female Restauranteur and her Team accompanied by Clapping! It was such a Fun, Relaxed Cheery Atmosphere!! 🙂🙂. The Cake was a Simple Gluten free (for Mum) Waitrose Sponge and I was served Chocolate and Vanilla Ice Cream to go with the cake, (even though I had selected a Dessert to have from the Menu Online prior to the Evening! - I will just have to come back for it. What a Fun Chilled Lively Atmosphere was Had throughout the Evening! - The Female Head Restauranteur was Singing to Whitney's, I Want to Dance with Somebody, Whopping and All Cheerful and Happy 😊. Actually the Restaurant has Live Singers and Tribute Acts on Certain Thursdays and Fridays throughout each Month with the highlight being an Elvis Tribute Act coming up soon! So the Fun Chilled Family Relaxed Atmosphere is Part of the Ethos of Restaurant which is Nice. Very Homely 🙂. ....... And So What an Evening!! 🤣. An Enjoyable "Low Key" Affair. I Must Go Back for More especially as I'm Local. PS: Grandad Celebrated his 90th Birthday here as part of his Celebrations and he was Treated to Birthday Singing too. 🎂 - 🇮🇹 🍴 --- Normally Bring Your Own Birthday Cake is Not Allowed but they made an Exception as the Cake was already handed in without the Head Restauranteur realising ---

Great night will be going again

Was okay. A bit pricey for what it is. Went with a group. Some of the food was good, some not so good. Wouldn’t go again if I’m honest. Went to this place a few times a couple of years ago and it was great. Was looking forward to tonight. And was disappointed.

I don't rate the ribeye steak , no taste & tasted cheap market stall steak ,which felt like it was defrosted at the time . Thought beers & alcohol drinks were expensive . Asked twice for a jug of water & then got 2 glasses instead & waited ages. Kept on being asked if we wanted more beer & coke . Friendly ladies greeted us . But sorry won't be returning as thought poor quality of food & expensive for what we had & that was a starter & a main , no desert & one drink each .

Stressful atmosphere. The music is a tad too loud, most people just want to have a friendly chat over a meal and not have to shout across the table. Is it a restaurant or a bar? The waiter staff come across as very amateur. Kicking tables, not asking for drink top ups, hesitating when we asked for another jug of water, hastily delivering the food anywhere on the table without checking who ordered what. It's a 70 seat establishment but it should be much less. You're really crammed in like sardines in there - when combined with the loud and inappropriately selected music genre, this really makes for a stressful and unpleasant dining experience. Not enough staff for the customers. We waiting an hour for starters and another 30 mins for our mains. We didn't even bother looking at the dessert menu as we'd had enough and wanted to make our escape. No complimentary services. As we waited so long for the food, it would have been nice to get a little basket of bread and maybe some olives to stave off the hunger. This doesn't cost the establishment the earth but would make a huge difference and make customers feel welcome and valued. They would benefit from installing another inner doorway to prevent wind blast every time someone opens the door. They would also benefit from not allowing dogs to enter the restaurant whilst people are eating. I even caught some of the staff petting the dog, which is not a good idea when handling food. The food was very average, but was not bad considering they had what looks like one person slaving away in the kitchen.

Came here for a friend's birthday. There was a big group of us, over 30 people, and the staff were amazing. We pre-ordered our meals and they came out pretty much at the same time. The staff were friendly and attentive. And very patient about all the dancing in the isles... Wonderful evening, topped off with live music.

Another great night at the Ginger Italian, and Paul Cantera was superb....if you're looking for a night out local would throughly recommend when his in the place. Booked table for daughters 18th, food and service was superb as usual. Thanks 👍🏻

Went with a group for a meal. Good food well served particularly liked the lemon sorbet served in a hollowed put lemon I haven't seen that for years. Crowded and a bit noisy

We had another family party here today.. from start to finish AMAZING.. I cannot say enough about Joe.. Malou.. and their team.. I would recommend for a party or a evening meal.. Thank you guys for making our family party as always so special.. ❤️❤️

Have been here a fair few times over the years. Food is still very good with good sized portions. Service good. We visited on a Saturday evening for a birthday treat. Atmosphere was not for us. Very crowded, everyone seemed crammed in. Which was ashame as it never used to feel like that. Due to the number people and the music it was just too noisy. If you're up for a loud evening then this is a great place for you.

Pizza in Lidl is better that here ..

Great place to enjoy a nice meal. If you fancy some dancing- that is not a problem at all! The super patient owner able to accommodate any requests! We had a fabulous evening celebrating our friend's 60th birthday! Will come back for a less explosive evening to enjoy food and cocktails. Thank you GI.

I just celebrated my 60th birthday with 41 friends here at the ginger italian. My guests ranged from early 20’s to mid 60’s and i can honestly say its one of the best birthdays iv had. Staff are fantastic especially the manager Mallu ( sorry if i spelt ur name wrong) the food was gorgeous the singer was great. I danced like a 20 year old and suffered for it the next day like my new 60 years but i would do it all again. Fantastic night fantastic venue will deffo use again. Please try this place you wont regret it. My face ached from all the laughter and total joy. Thank you ginger italian for an unforgettable birthday your the best x Tracy Clark xxxx

Went for some Italian food ended up with an expensive burger there was no Lasagna on the menu that day ,the service was good but so,s pub grub,my wifes Italian and she said the tiramisu was like cheese cake the worse shes had.

Our quiz team were there on Thursday 14th December. What a great time we had. Singing along and dancing...excellent music by The Everly Others. Our best Xmas celebration dinner since we've been quizzing...approx. 10 years. Staff all appeared to be having a great time too. A fantastic night.

Visited this restaurant on the 30th November 23' and the food was amazing. A bit of a wait for the food to arrive but well worth it as it's all freshly cooked. The service was as equally as good too with friendly staff. What makes this restaurant stand out from the rest of that they frequently do competitions to win vouchers for £50 and £25 which comes off your bill. I was a lucky winner of a £25 voucher and that was taken off the total bill when I paid. Would highly recommend this restaurant to friends and family and I'll definitely visit again.

Went there on friday 27th a group of 9 The service and food was excellent and the singing by wayne was exceptional. A fantastic evening had by all.

Just loved my evening with my family great atmosphere and food.

We recently attended a 30th birthday party at this venue in September. The staff were friendly and helpful. The organisation of the seating and ensuring everyone got the food they ordered was impressive. The drinks service was a little slow but the venue was fully booked, and the staff did not stop working hard the whole time. The entrainment was brilliant, a great selection of songs that really added to the atmosphere.

First visit to this restaurant, service was amazing! All the staff were very attentive and made sure that we had everything that we wanted/needed. The food was delicious and portion sizes were very generous. Would highly recommend and will definitely be dining there again!

First visit to this restaurant and enjoyed it immensely. Food was delicious, especially the goats cheese starter and all the friends I was with were equally pleased with their food. We went on an Elvis tribute act night with a highly entertaining Elvis who also sung a bit of Tom Jones and Neil Diamond amongst others. Staff were very friendly and those with birthdays got a small free prosecco with a sparkler!

We have been using the restaurant for several years as always the food was 5 star last night was a big let down we ask for mixers with our drinks and was told that we can only buy a 1.5 bottle so ask for just a dash of tonic and a dash of coke the first drinks was fine the second time we ordered a round of drinks my drink came without the gin(I think)we told the person serving he just looked me as if I had too heads and walk away we ordered more drinks without the mixers .I felt like I was getting mugged of then the bill came out for £170 sorry Joe we won't be back but will miss the great food

We celebrated my 30th birthday on saturday. My family travelled down from Fulham as we had been reccomended by friends. The food and cocktails were amazing. The staff made it extra special with the celebrations. Malou the manager is one of a kind. Thank you all so much! Kerry x

Dined here yesterday evening. The food was delicious and plentiful, the staff incredibly friendly and accommodating. I emailed Joe late in the afternoon letting him know we were celebrating our kids' 5th birthdays and asked if the staff could make our visit special somehow...both kids got their dessert with a sparkler and everyone sang them happy birthday, they were thrilled. Thanks so much for a lovely experience, we will be back! :)

Good atmosphere, Food was great. We had a crab prawn papaya cocktail and calamari for starters Then a chicken burger with chips and a Spaghetti Toscana followed by some mocktails. Good eat on a weekday if you want to get away from the crowds

The management still doing a very serious mistake by forcing customers to order drinks before they allow you to order food. The waiters even tell you they can’t take any food order if you don’t order drinks. This last weekend, we went there with our 2 and 7 years old kids, we had to order food for our kids straight away as they were hungry, but the waiter refused to do so. What an unpleasant start… At the end, we were forced to order a drink before that ☹ Which makes no sense as you would normally order your drinks after you know what type of food you will have like a red wine if eating red meat or a nice white wine if ordering sea food. But the issue here is a business forcing you to do something which is very disrespectful and annoying. This must stop!!!

Lovely atmosphere, lovely people and lovely food. The Pollo Al Pesto was very filling and the sauce was delicious. The Gnocchi was very tender and the portion was huge.

Always have a great experience here - staff all make you feel welcome and look to make your time enjoyable. Great range of foods for all tastes and happy to accommodate dietary needs and requests. Visited with my kids and mother I law for Sunday lunch. We arrived early by accident but the staff were very welcoming and not phased by this. The staff were good with kids and understanding with changing the food (slightly). We went there because we won a voucher at the school raffle (woodfield). Which is a sign of the type of restaurant that this, donating to a local school. Although there was a big group in for a party, we got served quickly and the food was lovely. We will definitely be returning for a repeat visit.

Order taken and 1st course was prompt. 2nd course took an hour and a half to arrive, but bill and table cleaning were super quick.

Been coming here now for a while so this is a more difficult review to write. The new menu is poor. The servings are poor, I ordered the surf & turf tagliatelle and received 3 below average prawns and a smidge of crab meat. £17 for the privilege. My partner ordered the chicken pesto tagliatelle and I would say there was less than half a chicken breast used!! £8 for a pint of Moretti! Oh and we asked for 2 scoops of ice cream for our 3 year old. Bear in mind we are regulars and they know that. Still charged is £4 for the ice cream! We wont be going back.

Lovely local Italian restaurant tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Sutton centre in Carshalton. We ate there on Easter Sunday. The food was delicious and the service was great. All three of left saying we will come back again.

Honestly the best pasta I've ever had! Washed down with the most perfectly made passionfruit martinis. I'd come here every weekend if I could! Beautiful place, staff are amazing and they really look after everyone. Definitely my new favourite restaurant!

Good food, but unfortunately took 30 minutes to get the 1st starter and 1 hour 30 minutes after our 7:30pm booking the main meal was still not delivered. It was valentines day, but there were people who had come after us getting their starter, main meal and dessert after we had, had our starter. When the food did arrive after 1 hour 35 minutes the fish was cold. Very poor speed of service. Debated leaving.

I went there a few months ago with my partner and my son. In terms of food… it was actually pretty good. However, the service we received was questionable. I get better a service at Pizza Express I can tell you that. During the meal I went with my son to the WC and I found a waiter seating on the table where a chef serves food (I think) while polishing a cutlery. And that put me off a big time. Next we ordered a starter and the main. Waiter came and asked us if we need plates without explaining what they might be for witch lead to a bit of confusion. I’m like yes please as I don’t want my pizza to put on a plate. But what she meant was actually for a starter that we shared lol. Overall I was disappointed and will not visit this place again. Also, they have not acknowledged us when we were leaving this “restaurant” and that has put a nail in a coffin. No go for me.
