Wow I came down from Manchester for a gig and visited The Griffard Arms before and after. It did not disappoint! Friendly staff, good prices and the atmosphere was the best ive seen in a while! Very jealous we dont have a carbon copy in Manchester! Easily one of the best places ive been to

Absolutely amazing place. Songs requested at the bar and drinks are reasonably priced. Jager is cold as it should be and atmosphere is generally happy. Large area to dance and a lot of seats to drink. Very much like the guy with the legion Go. He seems like a guy you could get along with easily.

A good heavy rock venue that is located centrally. Spacious inside and a live music stage upstairs. Friendly staff.

Still a great Wolverhampton legendary pub, rock disco's and bands on upstairs, small upstairs but great atmosphere, friendly and chilled.

Busy, loud rock pub with a gothic atmosphere. Great to mingle with the rock dudes and rock chicks in their finery while the dj plays rock and metal classics.

Lovely quirky pub , shame only sells keg, no real ale. Guiness was cheap, decent music and atmosphere.

I was here last week on the weekend for my friends birthday and it was brilliant, loved the atmosphere, music and the friendly staff would definitely recommend this place looking forward for my next visit

Great place. The decor is very gothic. The atmosphere is really good & the DJ plays really good rock & heavy metal music. Wanted to to go to The Gifford on a late night weekend & is doesn't disappoint.

Far too loud. Even the bar staff couldn’t take orders. No where to sit. I love rock bars but the Gifford wasn’t much fun. Ended up standing in the street drinking. Could have done that with a can of TESCO lager at 1/4 of the price.

It's a rock pub, what more do you need.

There were no beers on tap when i went in both times. Amazing decorations for Halloween. Certainly a lot of effort went into it all. Can get extremely busy so makes it hard to move around.

Came in for a few drinks for a works event. Tons of great metal tracks playing and good service from the staff. Plus there's a great big Dragon Goth Throne in the bar.

Great boozer, brilliant private room upstairs for events, drinks are very reasonably priced and all the staff are friendly and helpful. Super quirky place with interesting bits and bobs everywhere you look. The smoking area is brilliant too, even the toilets are cool as hell.

Quiet when we visited but still worth a visit. Beer prices have to be one of the reasons but I suppose that goes for the majority of the bars in town.

A lovely pub in Wolverhampton City Centre. Stopped off here today while my Son attended this driving theory test nearby. Friendly staff, friendly locals, A rock pub with a warm welcome to non rockers like myself. Really enjoyed my hour or so in this establishment today.

Bloody brilliant night out and would recommend to anyone. Great selection of drinks and staff that know how to make them quickly and well. If you love rock, metal or goth vibes it's the place for you!

A unique pub in the centre of the city. Only dropped in for a drink. It has a strong goth and rock vibe, with very quirky decor. Definitely worth a visit if you are that way inclined.

Great bar with good music, decent prices and a chill atmosphere. Been going here for years and never had a bad night, plenty of drink variety, outside area and upstairs area with a stage for live music nights. Highly recommend.

Love this place and I love the staff the djs! The drink prices! BUT can we pleaseeee have an updated jukebox? Touch tunes are amazing you can use your app and you don’t have to even leave you table or worry and bother your bar staff for change 😂

Great food, friendly atmosphere and good music. Have been several times now, but haven't eaten there.

Proper old school boozer with a 24/7 straight up and down perennial horror vibe, a DJ booth in a pulpit, Satan's actual throne in-situ, upstairs and downstairs bars, a smoking area, friendly staff and a badass gig venue; all situated proper conveniently in Wolverhampton city centre. Get in.

I've basically grew up here it's my second home. Wendy is an amazing lady and I wouldn't have got through some of the worst times without the place. Whilst I don't drink like I used to. When I am out and about I always pop in. Everyone is lovely and the music is top notch, great jukebox too

Great venue for live music, yet it's filthy. I've never seen a dirtier place before. The toilets are vile, the place itself even smells as you get in. I really don't get why don't they take pride in that? The carpets look 30 years old and they are worn and filthy. Otherwise, very quirky and good rocky atmosphere, just what I like! (although some of the clientele was high on something else than alcohol) There's is carpet, between ground floor and first floor, on the stairs, I wish I took pictures. The review is genuine, it did smell of urine coming up the stairs, but that cannot be proven in a written review.

Great pub a proper pub never had food but I'm sure it will be good, always visit when over that way not to everyones taste but if you love your rock music this is the place to be, friendly staff and locals make it, I popped in on my own but was felt welcomed I'm sure if I stayed a little longer I would of chatted more go on give it a go

Excellent, rock bar! Quite a dim lit bar with awesome music, fantastic for those with a more rock/metal taste in musical genre. Staff are so friendly, the lady behind the bar was lovely and couldn't have been more accommodating to me bringing in my 2 very young looking adult children. We only stayed around an hour but will be visiting again. Thank you.

Quickly served, staff helpful. Music was a bit too heavy metal for me, but hubby enjoyed it. Will definitely return next time we are out in Wolverhampton.

Great little rock pub in the centre of Wolverhampton. It's dark, it's loud and it has a good vibe. Saw Moon City Masters here. Tiny upstairs venue, but good sound.

Great place, old school, rustic building which is rock themed. Full of amazing people. Reasonably priced. No food.

Avoid that place horrible fake jack Daniel's put cheap spirits in expensive bottle's get a lot of mif fit's of society there I can bet certain members of staff working there claiming benefits the door Man sonny Kumar tells lies the one with that silly beard

This is a hidden jewl in Wolverhampton! It has excellent and fair staff plus the other customers all treat one and other respectfully. If any incidents are reported? The management interigate the evidence fairly without assuming guilt. Safest place to be in the West Midlands and EVERYONE makes others feel welcomed. The security are both effective and fair plus they keep the riff raff out. When inside they go out of their way to help you. If you haven't been? Then you don't know, what you don't know!

Great unique little pub. Visited the upstairs. Paid £10 entry and listened to 3 local bands. Great value for money.

It's the Giffard, a famous metal/rock pub in Wolverhampton folklore. You either love it or you hate it! Me, I love it, have done since 1986!

I visited the Giffard whilst en route to The Halls. It was, beyond a doubt, the best of the pubs that I went to.

On the surface, a great looking pub, different. A kind of rock / goth pub with coffin shaped tables, goth / rock art and objects on the walls, great bar service, and then Dire Straits gets played.....

A unique pub, with so much charm and a mixed crowd, always busy and lively, great music with real djs most nights, loads of events happen there and after parties are common.

Great service from the one poor fella on the bar after siouxsie Sioux gig! Well done!

This has to be my fav rock bar ever. Loved the alternative rock music and cool atmosphere. Dj was great I had a song in mind so I showed him the song on my phone and he played it right away. So wicked there will def be back! Cheers!

Decently priced drinks and really good alternative music going on, me and the husband were in for the night as we were visiting Wolverhampton so we're not regulars but we really enjoyed it here
