Chaplin's Fish & Chips in Wolverhampton

On the 6.9.24 me and my colleagues ordered chips from here whe we had them they tasted like they were from the day before quite a few were hard and absolutely dripping in grease when we complained the manager was very rude and didn't want to know and put the phone down on us hence we will never go there again.. had from majors twice since absolutely beautiful chips

Visited today as we fancied sharing a cone but wanted something other than the usual. We've often seen it walking past but today was our first visit, I'd go so far as to say they beat the local competition on both quality and price. A cone of chips was enough to share, piping hot, cooked to orange chip perfection. Just off the main strip but close enough to make it worthwhile. This will definitely be our go to over other locations in the village for the foreseeable future.

The food was delicious. The chips had a crunchy outside but we're perfect soft on the inside. He was very generous with the parking of the food, and the kebabs were perfectly seasoned. Overall very yummy food

We've had Fish, Pies, normal chips from Chaplins about 5 times now and we absolutely love this place. The fish is super fresh, not covered in layers of batter either, flaky and moist. The scampi and pies are also very lovely. Normal chips are exceptionally tasty and you get a lot in a cone as well as the bag! We often chips left over and have them the next day with cheese. What we love too, is that the prices are excellent, the staff are really lovely, down to earth and not in your face, the premises are immaculate, they are always cleaning and you can tell they take pride in their little shop. It's easy to park outside or in the carpet park opposite the Church. Thoroughly recommend.

Popped in while visiting family to get some orange chips. Can't get them where I am from so I was very excited and they did not dissapoint! Nice friendly welcome into the shop and food was great.

The food we had here was amazingly good.. the food was burning hot even after the drive home. The portions were large and very tasty.. the staff were friendly and chatty and the place was very clean.

Brilliant little chippy just down the high street from majors chips smell the same as majors I ordered a cone of chips for £2.40 which is cheaper then getting a cone if chips from majors chips were nice second time I came here I ordered a regular bag of chips for £2.80 portion size was massive quite happy to visit this chippy again not the best but nice chips crunchy battered red orange salt and vinegar chippy chips they do plain chips but I think the battered chips are fire

Never tried this place in all fairness I never knew it existed until last week had fish and chips was to die for amazing food quality the chips and fish were beautiful definitely the best chippy in Bilston so glad I found out about this place will definitely be using again highly recommend to anyone 👍

Only 2 others eating in when me and my daughter visted. I had 2 chicken and chips and mushy peas, my daughter had mixed meat kebab meat and chips. They do a choice of 'normal' chips or orange chips. Steady stream of customers visted while there but a bit hidden out of bilston town centre. Would visit again.

I put an order in for 12 and asked if they could deliver at 6pm on Saturday. They were spot on with the order and arrived at 6 on the dot. We have used Chaplain's a lot over the last few years and they have alway been professional, friendly and polite. Thank you all who work there.

Ordered a fish (cod) cooked to order - was told it would be 5 to10 mins (not a problem). Whilst I was sat there waiting I felt like I was being judged/talked about, obviously not in English- felt a bit on edge. When other customers and staff were laughing together. Probably won’t go there again

Lovely place with nice people and delicious food

Only place I've tried in Bilston that offers non-battered (plain) chips & they were amazing! The saveloy however had no taste, basically a water sausage.

Tried this fish & chips today, the food was hot, fish for £6 was okay, chips £3 - the fish was of a smaller size than advertised as 'large' - disappointed in the battered chips as too many bits/off cuts of chips in the bag. Would I try the shop again? Probably not, may try Majors next time.

What a waist of £6..... Never again...chips just below warm and cold kebab and quality of kebab is not right....0 out of 5... Very disappointed..

Went in and placed an order for 2 mini fish special. Had to wait for one to be cooked. Some old lady walked in and while I was waiting for the mini fish they sold them to another customer. Very disgruntled and will never use agin. Sorry just isn’t good enough.

Lovely chip shop popped in today for a portion of chips excellent value for money, the lady who served me was very pleasant, polite and helpful too. I will be a customer for life.

This chip shop sells amazing food cooked fresh to perfection every time its a must to for chips battered or plane price is cheaper then most aswell try it out

Best chips around by a country mile. Choice of battered or real chips which is great because I don't like battered .Cooked fresh. .Mixed meat kebab in nam was plentiful and very tasty . The salad was fresh too. Loved the masala fish. Staff are friendly and helpful. Very clean too.

Come here occasionally, the food is very good along with the prices and the customer service is brilliant as well as friendly staff. Would highly recomended anyone in the area to come here.

The most greedy chip shop I have ever came across constantly changing prices every week, and today I ordered roe and chips asked for mayonnaise only on chips please when I looked she had put it on the roe as well, in which I replied I did not want it on roe she just said sorry and rufused to replace for another, in which I called the man over he replied you did ask for mayonnaise even though he was in the back, they refused to replace the roe and then refused to give me my money back absolutely disgusting greedy man, and then when I have left the store I look back 2mins later and the man is outside the shop shouting when I return to walk back he runs back in shop blaitently knowing there in wrong but tried to style it like I'm a problematic customer pathetic little greedy man, don't waste your money here honestly ,

Chaplin best best chippi in the Bilston. I and my whole family love their food. Every week, I take food from the Chaplin. They are very cheap and big portions in food. Friendly staff and nice poliet with everyone. I highly recommend.😊👍🏻👍🏻

Came in for some lunch today and was very happy with my order my food was cooked fresh Infront of me and tasted amazing would definitely recommend this fish and chip shop best around by far the staff were very friendly also .... This is a 5 star from me 🙂

Does the owner want to keep customers or loose them, well he is going the right way, over priced small portions to who he wants to please, I asked for a carrier bag and he wanted 10p with a big glee in his eye thinking more profit for him this is how you loose business and customers and money, bye for ever back to Majors. Been coming here for more than three years and the service has always been top tier. I really do recommend everyone to pop down and try there food it’s absolutely amazing especially the battered chips I could actually sit in there store and wait 10mins for them to be done.

Just had majors for the first time in a while usually go here since I discovered it,what has brought me to this review is majors has reminded me why I go here. Great portions of chips, great taste along with great taste. Don’t make my mistake guys

I really enjoy the food from here, it taste soooooo goooooood and there prices are reasonable too. The customer service is on point and every customer is greeted with a smile and shown the same respect no matter who you are. I will always be buying my fish and chips from here.

After a hard working week I like to reward myself with some large fish and chips. I think the owners care about their product as it tastes great and I think for the high quality they are incredible value. The staff are really friendly too. If you are in Bilston and want nice fish and plain or battered chips (you get a choice) I recommend here!

Wow just visited Robin 2 venue and found this little gem of a chippy ! Ordered 2 cheese burgers and chips where they came with a coating of very light batter (wow) possibly the nicest chips I have ever tasted in all honesty ! Service with a smile and very pleasant owner ! Keep up the good work team 😁

Today I ordered Masala Fish & Naan. I asked the man who was serving me, what kind of fish? He said it's fish...I said what kind of fish, fish have name. He started to get upset and continuing saying it's fish. He became so angry.... He started to throw the salad on the fish, in an aggressive way! Due to his actions, I decided not to have the fish. He became more angry and I had to put him in is place, just like you see a dog barking and you trying to run the dog away. This man, needs re-training an Customers Service! Ps Thank God, I'm a carm person and slow to react.

Recently opened in Bilston centre. Heartily recommend the masala fish. Chips served plain or battered, are best in town.

Although this is Bilston’s latest chippy it is the best tasting chippy around ! The battered chips are simply the best around the taste is beautiful ! We drive past a dozen other chippies to get to chaplins they are that good .
