The George Hotel in Calderdale

After ordering my pint of Guinness, then taking my drink I smelt vape. Sure enough someone was vaping indoors . Is there no fresh air ever. I will not be back!

Spot on pub we all had a good day yesterday with all the raceing lots of tvs and good service staff very pleasant thank you.

Not wheelchair friendly nor disabled toilets about time these pubs in brighouse got disabled toilets..

It’s the first pub you come across from the bus station or even if your waiting for a bus it’s very handy to just call in or meeting place has I have been calling in over the past 20 years I just find it pretty ideal also with very reasonable prices plus welcoming staff oh the beer garden is a sun trap plus it’s very well kept plus they have had a some work done plus it also has its old features like the historic windows but to me this place his great for locals plus people visiting the local area .

Not a good bar,i put a full glass of dark fruit cider down down,and glass collector takes it,clears table of all glasses,glass collector only take empty glasses,think next time, i won't be going there again,i didn't buy another from them.

Good atmosphere if you like music blasting out. Plenty of sport on with the number of tvs. Don't think it suitable if you just want a quiet drink and conversation with friends especially on a Saturday night

A very nice pint but it was a little bit like walking into 'The Slaughtered Lamb' in American Wear Wolf in London. I would however go again because I found the locals were actually very friendly

A town centre local which is very well kept, clean and well managed. Staff are experienced and friendly and prices are very reasonable. The George is located on the main shopping street in brighouse and literally a stones throw from the bus station. All in all a lively traditional English pub with great Yorkshire atmosphere.

Just Like the average person from West Yorkshire; I often find myself in various drinking establishments over the weekends and this previous weekend was no different! Situated in the picturesque, historic town of Brighouse, West Yorkshire- The George appears to be, one of many, traditional public houses you may find scattered across the glorious county that is West Yorkshire. Unfortunately, to my dismay, getting a beverage in this establishment was the only positive aspect of my first and last experience in this 'pub'. I walked in through the front entrance, wading through the toothless, hairless bodies that had amassed outside the foyer'd door at the front with a subtle odour of Alabama Kush as I tried to fashion a route and get towards the bar. Here at the bar, I was greeted by a rude, slightly rotund lady (I presumed the name of this Lady was George given her appearance). There were no manners offered by George in the process of the transaction of my pint of Guinness, to which I was not best pleased. The pint itself was affordable and pleasant with the correct method of pouring used so no complaints about the product, but I only stayed for one pint- so my synopsis on the quality of produce would be therefore, inaccurate. But I had to leave due to the series of events which ensued after I had taken a seat with my drink. Two presentable and respectable young men approached the bar as George went upstairs (I presume George is a live-in manager or the Landlord itself) and purchased a couple of drinks from the very pleasant young lady working at the bar at the time. She seemed to be very professional and the transaction with the respectable young men and they sat at the bar with the two pints of lager which they had purchased. Shortly after they had been served, George had appeared from upstairs with half of a sandwich hanging from her mouth and was causing an uproar with these two unsuspecting young men. What she was saying to them was quite incomprehensible due to the 'tumble dryer' effect of her finishing her afternoon tea but resulted in the two young men leaving. Regardless of what was said- one of the two young men accidentally spilled his pint over the bar in disgust to what he must have heard/saw from George. George then took it upon itself to refer to this poor young man (who could have had problems with his motor systems) as a '****head'- to which he responded it was something he couldn't help indicating some form motor problems as previously suspected. After witnessing how the Manager/Landlord treats her customers and clientele, I quickly finished my beverage and made exit through the side entrance which is located next the serene sights of Brighouse's subway system (Not to be confused with the Connecticut Sandwich giant). Friendly staff and the location/view in the centre of town next to the subway system is stunning. Shame about the management and the crackheads. 3/5- will return under new management.

Great pub. Offer stop off on way back from football matches, usually message them to let them know coach loads are stopping & they put on extra staff. Beer cheap & good. Great DJ/Karaoke & football on tv too at weekends.
