Golden Dragon Chinese Restaurants and Takeaway in Calderdale

Food and service was excellent. Nice to folks using the restaurant and not relying on takeaway service. The food always tastes better when dining in.

Absolutely the best chinese food I've had.

The food was awful, it certainly did not taste like chicken & there was more oil in it than I have ever had in a satay, infact, I'm not even sure it was a satay. Never again !!

Fantastic food, the whole family enjoyed very much. I had the Special Chow Mein which was delicious and cooked to perfection.

I've been going to Golden Dragon for 30 years. Spectacular food. Especially if you eat at the restaurant. The staff are lovely. My most recent delivery from these guys hit the spot perfectly. If you're reading this Golden Dragon - Never change :)

Was ok, standard Chinese really, bit pricey on the mains but did the job nicely. Food nice and hot and not too greasy.

While the rice was average the mixed starter was really grim. Cold, lacking in flavour and over done to the point of being a dental risk it was really disappointing especially at such a high price.

Ordered off just eat food came really quick but every single part of my order was wrong, called them to let them know just to have the phone put down on me,

We went for a family birthday meal on bank holiday Monday. Not been here for years but were very impressed with the food. £14:95 for the 3 course early bird menu was great value. Everything was nice and hot and very tasty. One of the dishes was wrong but it was swapped straight away. The decor could do with an update though as it is a bit dated.

Usually deliver quickly. Appalling tonight, nearly 2 hours. Delivery lad had the cheek to want to hurry up by ringing the bell and knocking again before we got to the door then tried to put it on the floor when I went to take it from him. sub standard tonight. shame.

Always used this Chinese,never again! We had a takeaway, it was luke warm when it arrived. Portion sizes have decreased & to be honest it was like slop, no flavours or taste even after adding salt! Won’t be ordering from here again

I'm new to the area, prices were very expensive to what I used to paying from a Chinese takeaway. Food was delivered earlier than expected, which was a blessing. Food due to the price was much less than expected, regarding quality and yumminess 100%.....if your prices were slightly lower I'd order more frequently, but food wast top notch..so no complaints, I'll just know for next time portion sizes which aren't great according to price.

Food was awful not warm tasteless and to be frank not fit to eat - spare ribs all fat and gristle and chopped up into tiny bits Foo young dry tasteless and the rice dish was weird nothing like special fried rice - won’t be going back here ever

Called in to attempt a food order. Lady behind the counter started serving another customer who walked in behind us. Walked out again. This place used to be outstanding. What a shame.

The order took over 2 and half hours to be delivered. The food was for the whole family and we had to cook something for the kids due to this. When the food finally arrived, the delivery driver asked for extra money. I was outraged!! The food quality was also very poor. Not tasty, dry and cold rice and chips. Extremely disappointed!!!!!!

We had a poor experience here. The delivery was an hour late making it a two hour delivery service. When speaking with the front of hour they just kept saying they are waiting for someone to pick it up however after multiple phones calls nothing changed. We got a £5 reduction on the cost of the order, this was a poor apology and we expected more from the service.

So expensive for how small portions are, no duck in duck roll, only thing nice was salt and pepper chips rest wasnt nice. Won't be going here again

Got my takeaway order wrong then said I had to pay for delivery if I wanted the right delivery.

Our food was cold, had to re heat in microwave. The chips were hard and dried up. Chicken curry we got the chicken was rubbery and Chewy and little curry sauce with it in the tub. The tubs were only half full and the food was bland and tasteless. Spent £31 and it was absolutely dreadful, just a waste of money. I have ordered from here before and the food is usually nice, don't know what happened tonight, but it was terrible. Not happy at all.

Have used them before always good service, quality and quantity have always been good.

The main meals were really nice,but the chips were not freshly cooked seemed as though they had been warmed up from previous day !

Early delivery was the only thing good about my takeaway. The food was tasteless and boring. Unfortunately, this was consistent with my last takeaway from here. That'll teach me to give a place a second chance!

Excellent restaurant quality takeaway

This restaurant is not reading reviews on trip advisor still same old problems I.e chips hard and rubbery, they used to be wonderful awhile back. The diced carrots in the sweet and sour dish were hard. The Golden Dragon needs to alter and not sit on their laurels from years gone by.

Always fantastic food, tasty and still hot on arrival. My favourite Chinese restaurant/takeaway.

Golden Dragon is very local to us and hands down the best Chinese in our area. We had the in laws around and had a large order. Everything was cooked to perfection. Everyone enjoyed the food and commented how tasty it was.

Doesn’t matter how late it is and this is rare they keep you informed and it’s always delicious and fresh 😀

The food was fresh and lovely. The service was very quick and professional. We went in a Monday evening, very early so it was a little quiet but it was very good. We will be back.

OK I did a review a couple of years ago...not a good one. So here is my 2022 version. Just an amazing place, the food is delicious every time I visit. The best Chinese in the area. Food served fresh, plentiful and hot. I just think its an amazing turnaround as does everyone I bring here....in fact I'm off there now...🥢🍜

Food was delicious and delivery driver was great. The food arrived in 25 minutes when the estimated delivery time was 1 hour this meant we missed the knock at the door and the call as we were in the garden and not expecting it so early but the delivery driver brought the food to us in the garden.

Over 45 mins after they’d said they would deliver, and that was 60-90 mins when I ordered!! Rang the restaurant 3’times. First time was told the driver was on his way. Second time they admitted that wasn’t true, third time they said he’d be another 10 mins. Unacceptable service

I ordered beef in black bean but I received chicken in black bean. The food wasn’t very warm but tasted nice.

I usually struggle to find good Chinese food but this place is the bomb, I’ll trust very few takeouts with kung po and these guys nail it as well as the other “safer” dishes, this is the one thing I’ll kiss when leaving Elland.

Placed order through just eat. Long wait, contacted takeaway directly and requested to cancel, told us they could deliver in 50mins. Couple of calls and finally delivered after two hours. All food completely cold. Soggy spring rolls, stale chips. Ordered bbq ribs with sauce but sent honey ribs with no sauce, dry and chewy.

Chicken curry was gorgeous. Really tasty and hot. Really enjoyed.

Won’t be ordering again, for the price you pay, it’s way below average, and I expected a lot better, the food was tepid, the crispy beef was so crispy and overcooked, the beef had disappeared, the salt & pepper chips were soggy and tasteless, the hot and sour soup was bland and cold and everything had a real sweetness to it all, very disappointing.

11 went for a meal, couldn't fault a thing. Food was delicious, service absolutely brilliant, nothing was too much trouble. Will be dining here again!!
