Golden Dragon Chinese Restaurants and Takeaway in Calderdale

We were staying in a hard to find place but the driver found us with a bit of help food we excellent

Food was delivered 2.5 hours after the order was placed, despite chasing.

it was 2 and half hours late. and the driver dropped the bag of food when he got to my step!

Delivery driver couldn’t be bothered to find my house just told me me to meet him at the main road, good job it wasn’t raining as I would have refused!

Fantastic food. Restaurant quality food brought to your door. Great portions too.

Had to ring the restaurant to ask where the order was as it had said ir had been delivered. the restaurant said the delivery guy was just setting off. wasn't happy with the lateness. the chow mein had barely any meat in it might as well of order a vegetable one.

We’ve tried a number of other Chinese restaurants and takeaways around the Halifax area, but none compare… Its not as cheap as some, but you get the most delicious food, it’s certainly worth a bit extra! We usually get takeaway, but have also eaten in. The staff are always very welcoming and attentive, and food is cooked and ready in a very short time One note to anyone going though… they no longer take card payments as they had a never-ending stint of failures from the card machine…. So, make sure you take some cash!!! Our favourite is the deep-fried chicken in plum chilli sauce… you get a full chicken breast battered and sliced, with or without veg (I always ask without) and the sweet sauce all over The egg fried rice is lovely and no extra herbs or spices, just the egg We also get the chips (more to bulk out the meal a bit) and my wife loves the Salt and Pepper Spare Ribs They do deliver, but you get a discount off the price for picking up yourself and a free bag of Prawn Crackers! Always good-sized portions and we always save half for another day It’s so morish – a proper treat every once in a while, (usually when the kids aren’t at home!!!) Defo recommend

2hours to deliver food, told would be an HR. Rang restaurant after 1hr 20 and was told delivery driver was en route. 40 mins later food had still not been delivered. Over 2 hours after first call food was delivered. Really poor service.

Nothing but amazing things to say about Golden Dragon. The staff are incredible attentive and friendly, portion sizes are great and good value. I would highly recommend dining in. A favourite spot and always repeat custom! They also take card payments.

Order was not ready for collection at the time specified despite receiving receipt of order confirmation and a pick up time notification.. Food quality was average at best particularly the beef chow mein which was not enjoyable at all… Very disappointing as The Golden Dragon had been recommended to us and we were looking forward to a family meal to round off an otherwise happy family day.

The worst king prawn curry I have ever had, literally a few king prawns in tub of yellow tasteless liquid. My husbands special curry wasn’t much better! What an absolute waste of £30, won’t order from here again, terrible food.

Curry was watery and the salt and pepper starter was inedible due to the amount of salt on it

The food was awful, it certainly did not taste like chicken & there was more oil in it than I have ever had in a satay, infact, I'm not even sure it was a satay. Never again !!

I've been going to Golden Dragon for 30 years. Spectacular food. Especially if you eat at the restaurant. The staff are lovely. My most recent delivery from these guys hit the spot perfectly. If you're reading this Golden Dragon - Never change :)

Was ok, standard Chinese really, bit pricey on the mains but did the job nicely. Food nice and hot and not too greasy.

While the rice was average the mixed starter was really grim. Cold, lacking in flavour and over done to the point of being a dental risk it was really disappointing especially at such a high price.

Ordered off just eat food came really quick but every single part of my order was wrong, called them to let them know just to have the phone put down on me,

We went for a family birthday meal on bank holiday Monday. Not been here for years but were very impressed with the food. £14:95 for the 3 course early bird menu was great value. Everything was nice and hot and very tasty. One of the dishes was wrong but it was swapped straight away. The decor could do with an update though as it is a bit dated.

Usually deliver quickly. Appalling tonight, nearly 2 hours. Delivery lad had the cheek to want to hurry up by ringing the bell and knocking again before we got to the door then tried to put it on the floor when I went to take it from him. sub standard tonight. shame.

Always used this Chinese,never again! We had a takeaway, it was luke warm when it arrived. Portion sizes have decreased & to be honest it was like slop, no flavours or taste even after adding salt! Won’t be ordering from here again

I'm new to the area, prices were very expensive to what I used to paying from a Chinese takeaway. Food was delivered earlier than expected, which was a blessing. Food due to the price was much less than expected, regarding quality and yumminess 100%.....if your prices were slightly lower I'd order more frequently, but food wast top notch..so no complaints, I'll just know for next time portion sizes which aren't great according to price.

Food was awful not warm tasteless and to be frank not fit to eat - spare ribs all fat and gristle and chopped up into tiny bits Foo young dry tasteless and the rice dish was weird nothing like special fried rice - won’t be going back here ever

Food is ok but it is very tired looking needs a good overhaul.

Called in to attempt a food order. Lady behind the counter started serving another customer who walked in behind us. Walked out again. This place used to be outstanding. What a shame.

The order took over 2 and half hours to be delivered. The food was for the whole family and we had to cook something for the kids due to this. When the food finally arrived, the delivery driver asked for extra money. I was outraged!! The food quality was also very poor. Not tasty, dry and cold rice and chips. Extremely disappointed!!!!!!

We had a poor experience here. The delivery was an hour late making it a two hour delivery service. When speaking with the front of hour they just kept saying they are waiting for someone to pick it up however after multiple phones calls nothing changed. We got a £5 reduction on the cost of the order, this was a poor apology and we expected more from the service.

So expensive for how small portions are, no duck in duck roll, only thing nice was salt and pepper chips rest wasnt nice. Won't be going here again

Got my takeaway order wrong then said I had to pay for delivery if I wanted the right delivery.

Our food was cold, had to re heat in microwave. The chips were hard and dried up. Chicken curry we got the chicken was rubbery and Chewy and little curry sauce with it in the tub. The tubs were only half full and the food was bland and tasteless. Spent £31 and it was absolutely dreadful, just a waste of money. I have ordered from here before and the food is usually nice, don't know what happened tonight, but it was terrible. Not happy at all.

Curry needed warming up in microwave but very tasty

The main meals were really nice,but the chips were not freshly cooked seemed as though they had been warmed up from previous day !
