Never before found the pub open due to me not coming on right day and/or time, usually mondays or late afternoon closed. BUT this time (Sept 24) I arrived Saturday. Service good, atmosphere great, beers excellant. Didn't eat but did find out that they sometimes have outside food preperation which looked good. Drop in street type food.

We stopped by on the way back from our Sunday afternoon walk at the battlefield. We have never visited before but it looked like a lovely British pub from the pictures on Google. When you walk in there are two entrances: bar and snug. We went into the bar and it was so busy as they were serving Sunday lunch. The lady at the bar was very attentive and instantly told us that it was much quieter on the other side of the pub in the βsnugβ. We paid for our drinks and went round to the other side and it was indeed much quieter. There was a lovely atmosphere and I am sure it would be the perfect location in the Winter as they have a fire in the snug too!

We asked if they served food (chips and beer go together so nice) but was informed that stopped. But lo and behold someone right after came in and ordered a sausage roll and the sausage roll appeared. It seemed warm and comforting - the opposite of the bartender.

Dont bother going to the pub quiz. We got there easily on time at 7.30 for the quiz to start at 8 (as they advertised online) and we turned up and got turned away because they had already started the quiz at 6.30 and said that we had to get there at 6 to be involved! Why advertise online when you dont stick to it? Wont bother going again if we're just going to get turned away!

Just a couple of Americans visiting and wanted a country pub lunch on a Saturday. We took our two kids and decided to try it out. We're so glad we did! The atmosphere was welcoming and cozy. The staff was friendly. The food was especially good. We ordered french onion soup, cottage pie and fish and chips. Everything was fantastic! The chef came out to talk with everyone for a bit and we were impressed that he would do that. When he stopped at our table to chat it didn't feel bottled. We had a lovely conversation. After filling our bellies and chatting with a few other patrons, we left feeling like we made friends. I don't drink but my husband really liked the beer he had. We will definitely be back!

Nice place, quality of food and how it's cooked was very good. Sirloin steak cooked to perfection and thick steak. Fish was lovely and chunky. The triple cooked chips were the best we,very had. Highly recommed this place.service and staff was lovely, nothing too much trouble. And the homemade bread and butter pudding was very tasty.

A little gem in Hinckley serving great ales, ciders and lagers in a unique environment. Veltins on tap in the UK is a rarity but it is without doubt the best pint in town - and at under Β£4 a pint, one of the cheapest. The selection of cask ales changes but no one ever complains and there's always Bass on - and "a damn fine pint" it is according to a good mate of mine

Ordered here 4 times in the last few months as a collection. Always been happy with the taste. I can't rate the atmosphere as I haven't eaten in but the staff dealing with my collection order are always friendly and it looks clean. Highly recommended.
